In June I went to the Brattleboro Vermont BK drive thru (as I had many times) and ordered just a bacon burger — it had no burger patty inside. So I walked in and showed it to the lady at the register, then the manager/boss guy (not 'Billy' but the other one). He turned to a young cook/prep guy who said "I didn't make that!" to the boss, and the boss then looked at me and stared, acting as if I was lying or something? He said "What do you want?" I was like "Uhm, just give me my $1.10 back. He then demanded to see the receipt! The young gal who sold it to me at the window was standing right there, but said nothing — and he could have simply asked her to verify that I had just bought the damn thing, without forcing me to go get the receipt! I had put it in their garbage barrel outside along with the bag before opening it up to see no patty inside. So by demanding I show it, I had to go outside and fish it out of the garbage! Naturally I was then a bit pissed and I pushed the door loudly in going out to find the receipt in the trash to get it, and went back inside to give it to him. But he accused me of breaking the law whatever and ordered me to leave, saying he was going to call the police because I wouldn't immediately leave. I was looking at him incredulously, then said"Just give me my $1.10 and I will!"He finally went to the drive thru gal's register and gave me the money and said"Leave!"
Desired outcome: Owner should FIRE the a__hole

He should have called the police. That is what happens when you misbehave in public. I bet you ate the burger and pulled any old burger out of the trash. If you were telling the truth you would not have thrown the burger in the trash. You would have shown it to them then and there. What you did is breaking the law. That is why he said you broke the law. Taking someone else's burger from the trash and pretending it is yours to get refund is stealing, against the law.
