KinderCare Education - Toxic Leadership

I have been with KinderCare for just over 3 months now, I worked in a brand new center, and it was one of the larger centers in our area, I believe the workload for the number of staff this center requires is too much for 2 directors to handle, an admin assistant would be a great addition to the front office staff. Our directors are very inexperienced when managing employees. I think this center has had at least 15 people quit in 3 months. The directors have favorite employees and it shows. There are so many inconsistencies that go on everyday there. The lack of communication, and information passed a long is very frustrating. The first week we were open, several of us were sent home early, even though we were promised full time hours, breaks and lunches are never scheduled, someone will just show up to your room with a post it note of breaks they are responsible for and we are expected to drop what we are doing and exit the classroom as soon as they step foot in the door. Often times breaks are really late or even forgotten about and we are forced to do the "potty dance" for over an hour before we are let out of our rooms. The first Friday, I was told to clean my room and go home early, I was clocked out by the directors before I had even left the building. The second week we were open, I was sent home early on a Friday and later recieved a text message that I needed to come in an hour later the following week, I asked for some planning time outside of my classroom as I do most of my work on my breaks and lunches and I was told to get a computer early in the week so I could leave my room to use the printer and laminator at the end of the week. I did show up an hour later Monday, and at 3:30 I was told to move my kids to another room and give out 4 breaks, my shift ended at 4, and I had 20 mintues after moving my kids to give out breaks, I questioned my director and her response was "we had you come in an hour later so you could work an hour later" I then told her that staying later was not in the text message conversation and I would not be working past 4.
It is a struggle to get materials my teachers book says I need for up coming units before the next unit begins.
I was signed up for a CPR/1st Aide class during my scheduled shift, but I didn't find out about it until the afternoon before. I had to rearrange an appoitment I had during my lunch that day to attend the mandatory training. During the training, my co-worker and I were told to clock out while we were there, even though the employees that had the training a month before us were all paid for it.
When I brought this issue up to my directors she said "if its that big of a deal, fine I'll pay you for the 2 hours!", I have not seen that added to my paycheck. I noticed how hard I had been working and found out a co-worker was making quite a bit more than I was, I began interviewing for other positions and mentioned that to my directors, and asked if they would be able to match it, and I was told no.
Our cook is constantly giving out breaks and lunches for teachers rather than doing the job she was hired to do.
We are guilt tripped into working while we are sick. I know of 2 people that have showed up with doctros notes and still told to come into work. People have been suspended for no reason, asked to help out at other centers then called back to ours and told to hurry with no thank yous when they show up, just handed a post it note of breaks to give. We have a learning adventures program to bring in extra revenue for the center, but the person they have hired is on maternity leave. They have been having an infant teacher pull the kids, sometimes during lunch and nap time, which has upset several of my parents. The teacher filling in for this program hasn't been trained on the curriculum. Sometimes they will pull kids on days they haven't advertised for as well. I was trying to teach my prek kids how to line up to go outside so there is some structure in the class, while having my kids line up one by one so I could check them off before leaving the class, my director walked in, made them all stand up and get in line. I was told she would come into my room Monday and show me how to do my nap/snack/playground transition, I also had to have a sit down talk with them about that and sign a formal documentation about it, the following Monday came, and she never showed, yet I still have this document in my file. During that meeting, I told them I felt like I was set up to fail. I told them I am always behind and have NO help in my room, but have had the MOST children. I also was never "KinderCare" trained. I do hold a BA in elementary education though. I emailed the area director a few weeks into our opening because I have had several requests to my director that went unacknowledged. The next day, positive change happened, only to last a week. I received information from another employee that the directors were gossiping about me in the office, and I was on a "list" of people they wanted to see gone. When I went in to give my 2 week notice, I was asked questions like "why" and I said the list was too long for me to get into but I had already emailed it to HR, she then began to attack me and got very argumentative, so I stood up and said my last day can be right now then and left.
I REFUSE to work for this toxic leadership any longer.
