I am a frequent customer of Starbucks, especially this specific branch in beckley. I have known for this last week for this specific branch to be closing at 5 as they appear to be short on staff. This store is 10 minutes from my office so with this in mind, today I made it a point to leave work 30 minutes early so that I could make it in time to get myself and my daughter a drink as we do at least 4 times per week. I got to the drive thru at 4:40 pm, so I made it in plenty of time. There were only 6 cars in front of me in line but it was taking forever for them to move. Well, I finally made it to the speaker only to be told "I'm sorry we close at 5". It had just turned 5. If I hadn't of been waiting for 20 minutes in line just to get the cars in front of me serviced then I would've made it to the speaker by 5. Shouldn't they at least service the cars that had been waiting before 5 o'clock and made sure they were able to order also? It's kind of our little thing that I surprise my daughter with a drink on my way home from work as we have always enjoyed their drinks. I spend roughly $160 a month just at this Starbucks alone, could they not have serviced a loyal customer, especially since it was exactly 5 pm and I had been waiting for 20 minutes to make it to that point? There is a new coffee shop in town that I have heard is great, I am really considering taking my business there now.
