We are such suckers! We actually paid these people to take a couple of time shares off our hands. They promised to pay the maintenance fees and process the quit claim deeds. The told us specifically not to pay the maintenance fees. This was back in September. The have not held up their part of the contract. They have not paid any fees or processed any deeds, at least that we know of. After numerous phone calls and promises from Debra Dunlap that they would pay them, they never did. They stopped returning phone calls. Then Debra's mail box was no longer available and no one else returned phone calls. Today, 04/21/09, the only message you get is that the office is closed and please call back during business hours. There is no option to leave any messages. We have filed a complaint with the BBB of Colorado and will pursue it to the AG of Colorado as the complaint works its way through the system.

My family has had a similar experience trying to unload their time share. My father, desperate to save money, made an agreement to have Vacation Ventures buy their contract for $1.00. They too, told my parents not to pay the maintenance fees on their timeshare. My father spoke with Debra Dunlap several times, who kept promising that the deed was "in process" and she would send it on to the time share company once the deed had officially been transferred. In the meantime, my father recently passed away and my mother is on a fixed income. The time share company has started using a collection agency and lawyers trying to get money from my mother. Vacation Ventures has taken advantage of an elderly couple and has now trashed mymother's credit rating. I have turned the whole mess over to my lawyer to see what can be done other than filing complaints with the State of Colorado Attorney General and the Better Business Bureau. The only thing I can say with anyone trying to see their time share to a company such as this is: "Buyer beware"!

We just attended a 'short presentation' by Kenneth James with Vacation Ventures. The 'short' means 3 hours! On a relaxing Sunday no less! Anyway, the only reason we went was they said they'd make an offer on our timeshare. We were interested in unloading it, so we thought we'd see what the offer would be. The 'offer' was for us to pay them $3, 200! And Mr James offered some rather incorrect 'tax advice' on how you can write off the cost of your timeshare as well as the $3, 200. We were by far the youngest in the group and it was clear they were praying on the fears of the elderly owners, making statements such as 'your children will be unfairly burdened with the ongoing costs' and 'assessment costs this year will be about $7, 000'. We left as did another couple...I only pray the other 5 couples in that room ran like the wind. I only wish there was a better way to get the word out about this company. Forums like this are definitely a great idea!

I went to this presentation on 10/25/09. After a very lengthly "speech", the offer was for me to pay them to get out of my time share. Some of the scare tatics used are: a "huge" assessment coming by the end of the year, you MUST convert to a very pricey points system and that you can NEVER get rid of your time share and your children and grand children will "bear the burden" of the growing fees. This is well planned and well rehearsed - somewhat similar to the presentation made originally when I bought my time share. I left, as did 2 other couples. Unfortunately 3 others remained. I wish them well.

My husband and I fell for this hook, line, and sinker. One of the couples at the presentation said their brother-in-law got everything settled in less than 3 months. This was back in April of 2008. I can not even imagine what we are in for. They did pay the maintenance fees for the first year, but over 3 months late. I paid the late fees, How could we have bee so stupid. I attempted once more today to contact them, with the usual results. I will be filing a complaint with the better business bureau, at their suggestion.

I hate to admit it but, we were one of the "elderly couples" that was foolish enough to believe Mr. Kenneth James. I can hardly make myself talk about the experience we had. I cannot beleive my husband and myself allowed this to happen. I just pray that somehow this company pays for what they have done to so many people.

We too were scamed by these monsters for over $4, 000.00, and we have no idea how to deal with it or how they live with themselves. We are interested in a class action law suit, any advice. [protected]
Thank You, Janette
