I was contacted by Warren National University about continuing my education. I enrolled and sent them a large sum of money. They enrolled me in some classes and I never heard from them again. When I completed all my classes I stopped sending them any more money. I've tried repeatedly for over a year to get enrolled in addtional classes, or get a refund. They have refused all contact except an email a few months ago advising me to be patient.
BEWARE of this organization, if that's what you call them. They are scam artists, and they are ripping innocent people off.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Warren National University (formerly Kennedy Western University) was rejected for accreditation and are closing as of [protected]. They just sent a letter to all current students.
Warren National University Lawsuit
Please contact attorney Muliha Khan (mkhan@rothgerber.com) at RJ&L (www.rothgerber.com) for information. This is not a Class Action suit but a regular law suit on behalf of a growing number of plaintiffs, and yes, punitive or corrective damages can be included in your claim as well as refunds for monies lost due to WNU's misrepresentations.
One less bogus "college" to worry about.
I read about them when they were investigated by the Senate in 2004, "Bogus Degrees and Unmet Expectations" was the name of it, which tells you all you need to know about Warren National University / Kennedy Western University
My school documentation said that there is a 5 year time limit to complete courses. I was 2 years into it. My school loan is for 7 years. So for 5 more years I am liable for payments to Sallie Mae for a school that does not exist. Wyoming department of education told me that they cannot help. Sallie Mae says that they don't care, they want to be paid. Isn't there insurance of some sort, federal, state, or the Aflac duck?
This is like what Steven Colbert says 'if all of the newspapers go bankrupt, where will they print the obituary?'
It is a conundrum.
What about the time spent studying Algebra thru Calculus? I could probably test out on it. But where?
There is, however, a blog talking about students being redirected to another institution to finish courses. Wells Fargo funded many of the school loans so they have an interest in resolving this with their student customers.
Would it do any good to bring a civil suit against them?
I also have lost considerable money through this scam. I wasted many hours studying for what! Nothing. As per individual above, Sallie Mae has been totally unhelpful.
What can we do. I cannot afford to pay loan payments without the anticipated degree.
There's one thing I can say about WNU (formerly Kennedy-Western University): they've had a good thing going since at least 1992, that's when I enrolled. I must have been one of their initial experiments unless, at that time, they had better intentions; I was assigned an advisor who was reachable by phone, and they were attentive. I, as many of you, studied - VERY diligently, most times until 3 am, preparing for exams (presented by a proctor). At that time my 3 children were 3-13 yrs in age, I was attending community college, and worked outside the home. I took my education seriously, and received my BS (Wow! No joke?! =/ ) in 1995, for which I had a victory party. My "degree" (or lack thereof) got me employment (outside the US - for that, I'm greatful) and I actually applied my education to my job tasks. However, returning back home to the states would prove to be disheartening, because I've been unemployed for the past 3+ yrs...never knowing why, until I decided to get my MBA. Well, surprise! "I'm sorry, we're unable to accept you. Your degree is from an unaccredited "institution". Believe me, I feel your misery, but I hope that you didn't give away $3000+ and study for 3 yrs thinking you were making a sincere effort to improve yourself. WNU was the suggestion of my wonderful husband =s, who completed his PhD...from a highly ranked ‘accredited’ university. And me!?____(fill in the blank). At this point, I'm just praying that they'll be gracious enough to send my transcripts. WNU, if you’re reading this, PLEASE! Make a conscious effort to do this one act of good-faith: provide those of us who've entrusted you, our transcripts. We’ve lost enough.
FYI: I've learned (hopefully not too late) that Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, AZ is making the attempt to assist potential students get enrolled if they have their transcripts. Hope this helps. Good Luck! Keep the faith.
They have tried to operate in 4 different states. They have had two different names. They have never had any legitimate accreditation. The GAO called them a diploma mill. You guys were ripped off the moment you signed up, not when the school closed.

I got an MIS B.S degree from Kennedy Western in 1999. Do I qualify for refund misrepresentation since I now find myself with having to start over for a degree even at community college levels. I would like a full refund for books and tution. Unemployed...no future job prospects...Knowing this I was wondering why I am unable to find a job.
Contacted www.rothgerber.com and there's a new guy on the case. His name is Richard Clark and he's representing around 200+ former students. Unfortunately the timeline to get in on the lawsuit has passed, but, he is taking names and will add you if the court allows.
I just checked the WNU website, and it's down. Now we don't even have a way to order transcripts. This is most unfortunate for me as I'm trying to get into another program with a different school. What a farce...
This is 3/2011, two years after closing the door s of WNU. Have anyone managed to get thier transcripts? I need to know if my new found attempts will be in vain. A fellow PhD recipient
Hi All, I had enrolled in the PhD program when the name was KWU, and then completed it on the last day Mar 31 2009... but I had only enrolled as I was shown the big license certificate and I thought it was all legit and good... I never got recognized for all of my hard work that I put in to my degree work... and now its worth nothing... Can someone please tell me how to become involved with the folks who are trying to get the punitive and other damages... my email is ksh.deen@gmail.com. Thanks!
Good Morning. I have some concerns with Warren National University. I originally enrolled in KWU. No mention to accreditation was mentioned. In fact I asked about the program for Safety Engineering and they mentioned that I would receive a totally approved by employers. Is there any current action against Warren National?
