In July '10 I had 9 windows installed by Sears using a contracted company called Arcor at a cost of $10431.45. I was assured these windows comply with the Gov't Energy Audit standards and was told I should get a rebate of 9x$40=$360. After the installation I had my house final audit done on Feb.18'11 for the Ont. Gov't Energy rebate program. The auditor wanted to see the serial numbers and the zone classification of the windows. He said there should be stickers in the corner of the windows but these were missing. He told me to get this proof of qualification and then he'd process my application. I contacted your salesman who assured me Arcor, the contracted window installers, would forward the info required to the Auditor.
Arcor sent him a message telling him a web site to go to and get the information. There are many windows and so the Audittor wanted them to be secific and tell him which windows and the ratings. There was no response from Arcor. I again called your salesman who then contacted Arcor and he reassured me that all the info required would be forwarded to me. This was Mar.7'11. I have received nothing. Again I contacted the salesman on Mar. 22'11. He has left 2 messages for his Arcor representative to contact him. He has received no response. I have until Mar.30 '11 to get this infromation to the Aditor so he can process my grant request or I lose my $360.00 rebate. Which I will want you to reimburse me on my outstanding bill. I am very frustrated and feel I have been given the run around. Either the windows I purchased were not what I was told or I am just being ignored. You may contact me at [protected] James Watcher

Thank you for this! I am in the process of looking for windows, and will keep this in mind when looking at companies/brands!

I have a house full of leaking Arcor windows and their service was useless. Now they have left me with still leaking windows damaging my home, and three units that the seal failed. One of these they cracked while making a template (arched transom).
They figure they spent too much on my service already and have no intention of replacing their faulty products.
They say the company is different now, and that the windows are different, but the service and warranty still sucks.

Arcor windows . my windows seals are constantly leaking and moisture is in between the pains of glass, trying to deal with Arcor when it comes to warranty has been an issue since day one . They are impossible to deal with, we are still under warranty, and I'm thinking it may just be easier to call another company in to change yet another window, and just pay it out of pocket . Thanks Arcor
