What I think one can learn from being in the present is to be always appreciative of the current situation no matter how it may arise. 13

The idea of living in a moment may be overwhelming but what are some life lessons that one can take from this concept?

In case you're hearing this for the first time, you might want to try to absorb the phrase “living in the moment”, because whenever we hear it, we feel so attached to it, almost like a sucker for time. Isn't it strange how humans perceive time, we always seem to believe that the future is guaranteed, but in reality, it’s not, the only thing we really own is the present. The net essence of this entire mob of sentiment and perspective can be boiled down to a few phrases. The Japanese call it Ikigai, “discover your purpose in life and do not settle until you find it” while on the other hand Buddha says take everything in moderation, including moderation. Take a step back and come to think about it, we’re only able to focus this deep because our perception of infinity is different; we live in a world with limited resources, therefore we need to make the best out of everything life has to offer us. Why save our happiness for a future that’s filled with uncertainty? instead, why not celebrate life, focus on experiences and relationships that matter the most. All in all, the summary suggests making the best out of every passion we pursue while keeping time and cherishing the ones we love.

To me what opened my eyes was seeing all my aunts and uncles dealing with health problems. I find it crazy how at one point they were young thriving living having fun and now they’re sick all the time or in the hospital or even dying. It makes me sad that life doesn’t always get better the older you get and the NOW is the time to enjoy life because you may not be able to later. I’d say that also so many young people that have died. My cousin was my age and he died last year in an accident. Liam Payne was also someone young who just died and so on. Everyday we have is a blessing and we just have to remember that none of us are invincible.

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift—that's why it's called the present.

Hi Laurie, I woke up early stressing over an email I got from the president of the company that I work at. I'm sitting here trying to figure out what to do with the email and after a prayer I opened up my iPad to see this content. I was going to ignore it at first but something guided me to read it. I'm glad I did, your message touch so many points that I have been struggling with for a while now. I'm a 50 year old male very successful professionally and financially but so miserable. I've never really taken the time to stop and focus on what I have in front of me, my amazing children and wife. I hope this content will be my seed for the future that I want to have, be less concerned about my career and financial stress and more about the stuff that really nourishes the soul! Thank you for sharing this very inspiring content, I look forward to seeing more and help me on this journey. With love from Montreal Canada. Alex.

This content is a powerful reminder to live in the moment and prioritize what truly matters... It's easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of life, but we need to slow down, appreciate the beauty of this life itself, and pursue our passions.

Thank you for sharing such a valuable message! ❤

This was a real wake up call. Thank you for making such a short content that was direct and to the point. I will be reading this over and over again. Powerful words! I feel like my daughter and I reside under the same roof, but aren't living as a family. She will be off to college in a few years and I need to make changes now to make the time we have together matter.

Start living your life! Do what you want to do! Don't waste time doing things you don't want to! But tomorrow I have to go to work, and the next day and the next. And in the evenings I will cook and clean and do the washing etc and on the weekend I will take my child to her sports clubs and work in the garden and try to do some home improvements that have been waiting for years for me to have some spare time. None of these things I want to do. I'm not waiting to start living my life, I'm trying to live it now but there always seems to be something more important than my things.

This hits me hard. Years of depression and PTSD have robbed me of precious time. I am a very negative person who has pushed so many people away. I wish I had the power to achieve this mindset. Thank you

Great content Laurie! There's a lot of good thing in here. Thanks for your insights! This is the reason I work only 2 days a week with minimal needs and spending. I have 5 days to work on my music and writing books. For me, truly living is self expression. Giving from who I am to this world. I love the fact that you say happiness is in the here and now, and that we create as we walk forward... In action. I really like this content and will read it every day for a month to motivate myself! Keep up the great wisdom-attitude! Thanks
