Here is my experience at Whitby Optical in Whitby Ontario . Absolutely horrendous customer service experience (quite possibly the worst I've ever had). I had an exam at Whitby Optical and the prescription the paki doctor prescribed was different than the one I had last year, which was done at a different eye doctor office (-1.0 at Optical Outlets vs. -1.25 at other place the year before). As soon as I walked out I noticed that my vision was not as clear as with the earlier prescription. But I thought it was maybe that I just had to get used to it. Then I had to go out of town on business and realized that it wasn't getting any better and there was definitely something wrong with my contacts. My vision was blurry in the distance. So, as soon as I got back from my trip, the first thing I did was to go back to Whitby Optical to tell them about my vision problem. The person I spoke to (unfortunately, I don't remember his name) told me that the -1.0 was the right prescription for me since the doctor did a "full" exam and that's what he prescribed. I kept telling her that I couldn't see clearly (but I could just a week ago with my old contacts), but she kept insisting that there was nothing wrong with the contacts from Whitby Optical. He told me that the prescription can change from year to year… blah blah blah… and I kept telling her that I couldn’t see clearly. He, that ###in paki, finally ended up consulting the doctor, who also insisted that the prescription of -1.0 was correct. I then, again, mentioned that my prescription was -1.25 last year and I could see just fine then. The lady told me that she couldn't help me and told me that if I wanted another exam, I would have to pay for the exam again. I really couldn't believe my ears when she said that. She refused to give me a follow-up consultation (which should be included in the initial exam my insurance company covered) and had the nerve to tell me to pay for another exam with a doctor who couldn't get it right the first time. I told him I would go somewhere else then and have another eye exam so I could at least get contacts that fit. His co-worker then informed me that I could exchange the boxes of contacts that had been ordered for me already (with the -1.0 prescription that wasn't right for me) with another prescription as long as it was the same brand. I then left and made another exam appt with the same eye doctor I went to last year. He did the exam, and as expected, my prescription was -1.25 on both eyes, with my right eye being borderline -1.50. AND…. VOILA… I could see clearly again with my new contacts! At this point it became very apparent that I had been lied to and cheated out of my insurance money by the place in Sanford, so I called my insurance company to explain what happened. I told them that I did not ever want to set foot into Optical Outlets again, not even to exchange my correct prescription for the ones that they were holding for me (with my insurance funds tied up). They informed me that I just needed to call Whitby Optical in Whitby, Ont to release the funds for the materials so I could get my contacts at the other eye doctor office with the correct prescription. That’s exactly what I did, but whoever answered the phone at the Whitby outlet was giving me the run-around and again wasn’t trying to help me, citing that the store manager would have to make that decision and he/she was in an all-day meeting. That’s when I sent an e-mail through the Whitby Optical Web site and a few hours later I was contacted by someone telling me that it was taken care of and my insurance funds were released. WOW! So much time wasted on trying to get this corrected and now I have to file an appeal with my insurance company to get reimbursed for my second, correct exam… only because the incompetent people at the Sanford Optical Outlet refused to help me get the correct prescription. UNBELIEVABLE. Needless to say, I’ll never go back to Whitby Optical and I’ve informed my coworkers, friends and family members to stay clear of the Whitby Optical at all cost should they have any vision issues. The insurance company rep., my other eye doctor, as well as everyone else was also baffled by the way I was treated and couldn’t believe that there is a company out there that engages in shady business practices like the one I experienced. The biggest and over priced optical store with high price's and scammers. DO NOT TRUST THESE SCAMMERS They rip people off, blind.

I order an Product named D&G Glasses which I received on 5th sept and has 10 days Money back guarantee...I tried to return the item on 13th sept by my aunt, which they did not accept it. I called the owner and spoke to Mohammad he said try returning it by another courier...I tried by Dhl They wont accept it as it contains Gell(Liquid)... I called again told him about my problem ...they said will arrange for a call back...I waited for a day did not receive call...I called again the other day on 15th ...informing I am loosing on the Money back so please advise...they said will call back...again did not receive a call...I called again the other day spoke to Mohammand frustrated...he said we will check and get back if we could arrange a collection...and he would call back...waited and waited...called again the other day telling them about the situation it was 18th ... People at Whitby Optical won't listen or understand my problem, this guy is a real jerk and yelled at me, just say we'll call back...All he says is we have you number and we will call back ! that is it !...Finally the other day I called continuously for 15-20 times and managed to get a Mohammand online he says we have tied-up I complained to Mohammand about whats happening till now...he and asked to write any application while returning the item and money will be refunded. I tried to return the item by DHL...again they did not accept it saying it contains Gell...I told them they sent it by you... they said will need a letter by the company...otherwise they cannot ... they suggested me to send it by DHL by noone will accept it...I called again askinf for Mohammand...Nobody would connect me to any Supervisor or manager...as they can speak just one thing...We will call back...Waited again did not get any call...Called again on 22nd...spoke to .Sharron..she asked to return by POST... I lost it and said forget it I would return it and Finally return the product on my own on 23rd...Received a call from someone on 27th stating parcel received and someone from complains department would call in 2-3 days...I waited again... Called finally on 3rd oct..people said we will call you...no call back... Tried calling again everyday continuously...Finally got through to Mohammand...Who asked to Contact SharronI called and straight away she said cannot be refunded ! I said have you read my letter...he said he has to received any letter..I said I was in the box...He says he has got it...Hows that possible. I tried to explain to him everything...He was not ready to listen and says I don't ###in care What the call or she said or what she advised or done... I told him Mohammand Promised me ..she says you take the money from him...I told he asked me to contact you...He says refund cannot be done...He says he is the only one and everything...I asked for his designation...He said I done want to give and hung the Phone...

Also the item sent to me was Dummy...It was not the same as show on there website..there was nowhere Whitby Optical mentioned on the product...It was just a plain thing even colours were differenyt... HELP me recovering my money...They are just taking me for granted...

Famous optical is by far the worst optical store i have ever been to. They have high prices, cheap quality and horrible customer service. they are liars. Many people complain about their timing, they take way too long to finish a prescription. I would not recommend this place to anyone! They need to do better business or shut down!

Bought glasses for 500.00 and did last for six months the person who sold them was Cheryl i brought it back to get serviced and was promised two days for the repairs and it took more than two weeks to get them back i would not recommend this place for glasses or any type of eyewear
Very unprofessional and they don't care about customers only to sell you cheap knockoffs from China and very over priced
