Windowcity review: Unsafe window 2

I ordered three bedroom windows from Window City through Macro Renovation, it's premier dealer on November 2010.

We were surprised to know that they are not safe at all. The sashes will fall out from their frames when I tilt them out. This is extremely unsafe and it has hurt my hand on the first day. This has been acknowledged as factory issue, not usual case.

Two time inspections from factory were arranged, but nothing that they can do, as this is design flaw. They agreed that this could be due to large size of the windows.

My windows are now unsafe and their tilt-out feature is practically useless. Moreover, it is really not easy to put the sash back to its frame alone by unskilled person, once it falls out.

Our official written complaint about safety to the manufacturer has been sent and they have taken it lightly. I am considering to take a legal action to the manufacturer.

I strongly do not recommend consumer to buy their products, considering their product design quality and service.

I can't comment too much on Bee windows. I couldn't afford them. $8700 for 6 windows and the other 3 were free. The salesmen came in and showed us the samples. Anderson renewal windows are really good, but way overpriced for my budget. The salesman was good and informative and was not really putting too much pressure to sell the windows at first. He showed us the price guarentee and the Letter from the President of Bee windows. I do not purchase on the first try. The saleman said that they would go up because I didn't buy on the spot. This was totally false since I had 3 companies show me their windows. The big companies like Champion, Bee won't show you what each window costs, They just show you the total price. I liked the other windows the salemen showed us too, but they only came in white and we wanted a tan color on the outside. The only choice we had was the Anderson Renewal. I had Window City come in and show me their windows. These are Viynl and really insulated good. The starting cost of each window was $200.00 and you added what you wanted like Argon Gas and Low E $40.00 and superspacer at $65.00. The color we chose added $110.00 per window and the install $60.00 per window. We had 2 mulls and that cost a total of $100.00. The total price was $4779.00 and we could have gone lower thant that without the color. The Install was perfect. They have a 2 man team and these guys are good. I really like how they look and for the money, We couldn't be happier. I had Bee calling us all the time untill I told them that the Total price was $5000.00 TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT. The salesman called me and said the lowest he could do was $7000.00 and that was not good enough. Bee windows will come down. DON'T settle for the Letter Scam. I was waiting to post after I got the windows put in and saw how good they were and the Install process was complete. 4 weeks from buying and Install was really good. I have a lifetime warranty and the windows look great. I'm not affiliated ith Window city in anyway just a buyer that went through replacing windows. Window City number is [protected]. You can talk to Rose and she will set you up and get this done for you.
