I went into Wynn Optics to have a minor adjustment on my glasses that were a few years old and had some minor scratches. When my glasses were returned to me there were deep scratches right above where the adjustment was made. Wynn Optics denied making the new scratches so I am now left with damaged lenses.

I went to small claims court on 3 occasions. The first two judgement were in my favor. Wynn Optics contest and vacated the first judgement and then failed to appear for their second court appearance. On the third appearance at Small Claims Court, the judgement was not in my favor. I was unable to prove that the damage was done at Wynn Optics since the judge did not view my glasses prior to me going to Wynn Optics. Wynn Optics has had previous complaints against their company. If you google their company you will have the opportunity to view and decide for yourself. I have gone to Gruen on numerous occasions for the same adjustments on my glasses and never had a problem. You can patronize Wynn Optics but you enter their store at your own risk. It is unfortunate that this black owned store is not an honest one. It is not about the little bit of monies that I would have been awarded, It was the principle that this company can get away causing damage to the personal property of customers and get away with it. Due to my complaint with the BBB, Wynn Optics rating has gone down. YAY. I always thought that the small businesses in Harlem were worth patronizing. I would prefer to keep our money in Harlem but in this case I was very wrong. An opportunist? No, just a consumer who wanted to have her glasses repaired during her lunch break instead of traveling downtown.

Wynn Optics made no damages to this "persons" glasses. Unfortunately, this persons glasses were already damaged after over five years of wear and tear. Glasses do not last forever especially when they are not being cared for. This accusation was settled in Small Claims Court, NYC and the judge found that the glasses were damaged prior to getting nose pads replaced. This is Public Information. Many small business are faced with opportunists trying to gain financial awards that they are not entitled to. In five years of business, Wynn Optics has not had ONE complaint and is in the process of being BBB Accredited.

Yay Winn Optics! Good to see a company address a complaint on this board.
Perhaps the customer was not an an opportunist, but instead the new nose pads brought scratches into view/line-of-sight that weren't before the installation.

Not surprised at this complaint he cuts corners all the time what do you want from a convicted felon involving a murder he is also a liar a cheat and woman beater do not give this monster anymore of your time or money he also flirts and pushes himself on his clients and Co workers Dejuan Wynn is a disgrace and a fraud

I can assure Wynn Optics is a great company and Mr Wynn is not the monster this person is making him out to be. Come by anyone of our two locations and see for yourself I promise you wont be disappointed. We've been providing excellent service in Harlem for the past 10 years. Thank you for listening :)

Well it looks like I won't be coming to this place for services. I definitely want to support my black businesses but not under those type of conditions. Got to better. Thanks for the review so that I can be an informed consumer. Nobody takes the time to post a thorough review unless they have been completely disrespected. If no one complains then the bad behavior continues.

These allegations are just that, allegations. If your ever in the area come by and see for yourself, we take honor in our customer service and building relationships with each one of our clients.
