I listed my site as the board that will not work. Their main site is up but their phone is not accepting new messages. Mailbox Full.
I am trying to run an ongoing ( PAID ) website for US Veterans. Over 3 years of work has gone into this board, both by myself and others.

Do not use xsorbit even if it's still possible, because this type of lapse of service and unreliability is pointless. Why waste your time.
Use at your own peril.

My xsorbit message board quit working in February 2008. I tried to contact them via "live chat" and it gets a PAGE NOT FOUND (404) error. I left messages on their answering machine, I sent numerous emails; I got no response from them to any of these attempts to contact them.

Today, I finally went to my bank (was being charged via check/debit card) and place a STOP PAYMENT against future charges from XSORBIT.

I registered with this company last year. Half way through the year the board stopped working. I try to get a hold of them and got the machine and my emails went into oblivion ! Then I thought I'll wait til year end when they send me the renewal letter then I'll cancel it but NO, they renew my account and automatically charge to my PayPal ! (I didn't know they can do that and for a "company", shouldn't they send me an email to ask me about it ? At least since my board hasn't work since June !) I call and send an email to them the day they renewed my account and got no reply (of course they won't reply - I'm trying to cancel my account !). I continue to call 3 days in a row after the renewal date and got the machine. I finally got hold of a lady named Valerie who sent me an email that sums up "we don't do refund" and didn't bother to consider the fact that I've been trying cancel my account SINCE the date of my anniversary AND that my board is still not working (Firefox returned a message that board can't be found!). If I'm paying for it, at least get my board working. I'm really unhappy with this company. Don't register with them. Take your business to "real" company!

Same here. Mine went down two weeks ago. No Support Ticket has ever been answered. I left a message. No reply. I'm done with them, and if they try and pull another charge from me, I'm getting an attorney involved...

My xsorbit28.com account has been missing since Jjan 19, 2009, its a free account, I sent emails to them, no replies. I don't know when its coming back or if it will come back who knows?

Are we going to lose our data. I have my forum hosted by them since a year and so far no answer from them I get 404 only.

I checked all the others its giving the same message.
I spent alot of time collecting my data lots of people have found my work interesting. Now I don't know if I'll be able to see it again.

I also have an Xsorbit message board, for a large group of professionals in my field. We have gathered a lot of information between us all, posted on the board, and for the past week nobody has been able to access it. All I get is the 404 message.

This is the second time there has been a "down time" with Xsorbit in the past two months. Both times, I left voicemail messages and emails with Xsorbit, and now their voicemail box is full and I've not received a call back nor an email reply. Very unprofessional.

Granted, my message board is under their free service, but I was considering upgrading to paid. Now, I am eager to get in and retrieve my information to transfer to another host and would urge anyone else not to use such an unprofessional service as Xsorbit has proven to be.

I have the same problem. No reply to my emails, and the message box is full on their support line. If anyone finds a way to contact them or hears from them, please let us know.

same... i have a paid site.. worked decent for 2 years and then last year it was horrible .. i decided to move on and now cant get ahold of anyone and my site has been down for over 2 months... now today i see a nice charge from them on my credit card for 2009. total ripoff

I tried calling Xsorbit and had no luck. I have an account (Xsorbit29) which I paid a yearly fee back in Sept 08. The only other info I have is Xsorbit's server info http://www.networksolutions.com/whois-search/Xsorbit.com

If you are still having Xsorbit charge for services, you can call your credit card company and dispute the charge. If they can't get ahold of Xsorbit, the account should be credited. Also ask your credit card company if Xsorbit has another phone number.

I'm going to give Xsorbit one more week, then I will be filing a complaint with http://www.bbb.org

We Run an online support connumity & use xsorbit as a back up to our main forums & especially for folks wishing to discuss issues away from the main site. I have been a supporter of xsorbit for years... But this has nocked our servives on the head in relation to a quality service... Any chance of our info at least?

We have been around for over four years now and will keep on updating our service.

We have a ton of features compared to Xsorbit gallery, arcade, ecommerce, custom styles, portals. We have both free hosting, and paid ad free hosting options.

I have been watching Xsorbit for years and kind of expected this would happen since they barely updated it.

Several of the xsorbit servers have been down since Jan 20 '09. The message they left was that they would be up again in 24-48 hours - it's still down on Feb 1.

I pay quarterly through direct debit but I'm going to put a stop payment on my next payment from them. The board wasn't really mine to begin with but I kind of inherited it. I think if any of the members want to continue the board we'll go somewhere else.

XSOrbit has also let several of their domain names lapse in the pat few weeks - eg xsorbit31.com, on which we had a paid site.

Many of the newer domains have expired. I can not get to backups since can't reach Cpanel.

don't think it's the same Michael Sinclair but could be just as bad. Last week I looked up the phone number to Xsorbit and it showed 9435 tropicana ave Las Vegas NV. on whitepages.com I just did another lookup and the number for Xsorbit is unpublished and no record of Xsorbit on whitepages.com. However there is a new listing with the same address as Xsorbit with Michael Sinclair's name and a new company listed as United Development Group.

As of last week, Xsorbit was listed on whitepages.com.
Not now. It seems that the owner Micheal Sinclair has decided to make a new company called "United Development Group" from the same address that Xsorbit's office was located. http://www.xsorbit.com/address.html

I don't think we are going to get our service or money back from Xsorbit. That amplelife that Xsorbit endorses (get rich quick/stop forecloser scam) should have been a red flag along with Xsorbit dropping their support forum from their site a few months ago.

Xsorbit owes me 8 months of pre-payed service. I will make sure to get my 8 months worth by reporting any of Micheal Sinclair's old and new found companies to any complaint /ripoff sites I find. Xsorbit has been reported to http://www.bbb.org

We have support forums at xsorbit30.com/users5/talkshopcommunity/index.php ... But since these forums are down all of our information which is backed up on those forums is lost.. Is there any way that we can retrieve that said information? We do need to retrieve that information as we have had to restructure our main site & data stored on those forums are vital to our services... My paid message board has also been down since mid-January. Xsorbit does not respond to either e-mails or phone calls. The domain name is now being listed on GoDaddy as having "expired 1/23/09 and pending renewal or deletion".

I also run a 1800 member forum on the xsorbit2 forum and it has been down now for 2 weeks. Last year it was down for about 30% of the time.

I was paid up to this year but no answer of any kind to my inquiries.

If it does go up for a short time -- can I somehow convert all the forum's data to another service?

What is the best way to do this?

These creeps have shut us down too, after being a paid customer for close to 4 years. We can't even contact them to ask for backups of our 4 years of hosted forum threads, which they were supposedly "saving" for us on their servers, which are probably now in some Las Vegas Dumpster, or perhaps left the country along with the folks who took our money. Wish they'd at least had the common decency to let us know they were going on the run, we'd have BOUGHT our files back from them!

Hi, I too have an xsorbit message board on server 25. I've been with them for over five years and there's been time in the past when the servers have gone down for a few days, but I've been down now for over 1 month! I've called several time and the message service was full! I was able to leave a message about 3 weeks ago, but no one ever called me back! I was able to also get on there main xsorbit.com site a few weeks ago, but know I can't even do that! this is so upsetting!

I also have a forum at xsorbit and it's been down for a month and they had the aduacity to charge me also.I'm goiny to notify my bank and the Better Business Bureau...there lack of customer service sucks...Nannam

I have had a paid message board with Xsorbit for almost five years, this outfit is absolutely the worst. There is a tremendous amount of work that goes into message boards and to just shut down and leave all the owners and members to hang out to dry is BULL! Five years of hard work all down the toilet just like that! I don't think they should be allowed to just walk and I hope a lawsuit is brought against these jerks.

Michael Sinclair did not flee to the Philippines. He actually operates and lives in the Philippines. He likes to put up internet businesses that charge up front, and the amount is quite high. he promises alot then he does not provide any real service.

His businesses are:
Federal Housing Aid (he is indicted for fraud and theft in Nevada because of this)
Amplelife (He opened this up when FHA was closed down)
domybk (he charges $499 and does nothnig
GOD Knows what else.

AND he is not alone in his con. According to the news a man named william vargas and paula luna are partners of his. BUT I saw a blog page where a certain Manny Diaz said he was the operational manager of FHA. Why is this Manny Diaz not indicted with the other 3 they areobviously low lives who prey on people who are already down.

we used this amplelife service they charged us nine hundred up front and told us not to pay or contact our mortgage company .It has now been 6 months, obviously when I called my mortgage company they had not been contacted at this time the foreclosure process had already started.Is there anything we can do to get our money back?Any suggestions

Mike Sinclair is a FRAUD, He was arrested for FEDERAL FRAUD (STEALING MONEY), He stole over $1, 800 dollars of mine to create a web site, then stated I would have a life time message board. I lost for a second time. The Feds need to investigate this dude again!

I've had contact with smfforfree and frankly, they allow message boards which violate their TOS, including some pretty bad ones.

You also cannot back up your forum with smforfree. They don't allow it. So you would be committing to them forever.

SMF for free, from my experience, tends to ignore their own TOS and allow up forums which are used for flaming.
Also, they do not allow their users to make backups of their forums. So once you transfer your forum to them you are stuck with smfforfree.
