Even on this website I see Young America Auto Insurance advertised. You see everywhere how important it is to be insured today. One of my employees has Young American Insurance. He also has a loan for his vehicle at a local Credit Union. He has had his vehicle for a couple of years and makes monthly payments for insurance and the car payment. In October last year (2009) his girlfriend borrowed his car. She had an accident. The vehicle could not be driven from the site. He notified his Insurance Company. He had insurance, it is the law, right? It is also a requirement of his loan. They towed his car away. Weeks went by. He kept calling his insurance Company, Young America, to find out what was going on. I even called them at one point to see why it was taking so long to settle his claim. I got nowhere. Hurry up and wait. It seems the girlfriend wasn't on the policy. According to the Insurance Company, it didn't matter that the car was insured, she wasn't so the claim is denied. Car was wrecked in October of 2009. It is February of 2010 and he is still on foot without a disposition on his claim and he only recently learned (last week) where they have his car. What is wrong with this picture? They have told him his car is totaled. He owes over $10K on it, they totaled it for $7K in damage, they have had it since October, they did take depositions from him and his girlfriend, over a month ago, and still he waits. What kind of insurance is that? Deny the claim and keep the car? Or leave the whole thing in Limbo for months, or longer?
Young America...beware of "Young America". You think you have coverage but guess again! Sounds worse than a rip off to me! Where is the Insurance Commission? Take his money, take his car, waste his time, see how you are?! Shame on you. I hope people learn the truth about you. The only other person I've heard that has this insurance is in litigation against them also, only in that case, the person that had the accident was listed on the insurance as a driver and she was rear ended! And Young America allegedly has denied that claim also and she has to resort to litigation to resolve her claim also! Young America Auto Insurance. Their unpublished motto must be "Ripping off Young Americans!" jfo Lakewood, CO

I agree completely. I am about to be the next one to get the shaft more than likely. I was rear ended by a driver whose insurance info showed that the policy was with National Ins. Center which is another branch of Rodney D. Young's ( of dallas, Tx) insurance companies. Their claims Rep. gave me a claims number after taking my information about the accident. After calling and leaving a message for the adjuster I recieved a call back two days later instead of the 24 hrs stated on their recording. I was asked questions about the vehicle that hit me in the rear which I could not give her because I did not have a copy of the police report yet. I was told that she, adjuster, could not commit to a time to come out and look at my car because she was not sure that there was even going to be a claim. It seems that the young lad driving the car, according to her, was not on his mothers policy and it could take from 30 days to60 days to 90 days to maybe even 120 days to get an answer from their main office in Dallas as to wether or not I had a claim, being the one that was hit. my wife contacted the Ins Commissioners Office and spoke to a rep that is looking into some of the odd info that was given as a reason as to National Insurance's excuse as to why and what they were going to do, or lack there of. If you have any questions or having a problem with these clowns, feel free to call the Insurance Commissioners Office and let them know what is going on. They can not do anything about the problem if they don't there is a problem. We work hard to get what we have, don't let some dishonest scammer type people take it away. Thats my opinion, how about yours? Insurance Commissioners Office # is [protected]. Call 9 News or Tom Martino, they seem to get results. I am.

I agree with you both as well because i was in a rear end accident in sept (2009) by a holder of Young Amarica why at a stop sign. They guy who was driving asked me not to call the cops and did try to run after seeing my Fiance who was in the car with me was on the phone to my mother who was in front of us for we had been moving and was making a trip over to one home to load more stuff to take to the new place we where moving too. I was shocked that some one had hit me and pushed me into my mothers friends truck and it caused my car to stall but it scared me because that is the first time I had ever been in a accident that I was the driver. My mother acted fast and was on the phone to our insurance when the guy tried to take off but a person saw what was happening and blocked him in till the cops showed up. Because of the shock and a panic attack for I feared of being hit again I got out of the car and out of the road to sit down because I was shacking and later after going to the hospital to find out that my left shoulder had been sprained and then two days later my doctor told me not to use my left arm for two weeks. I have been trying to settle with Young Amarica since then and they pretty much was blowing me off till I got a hold of our insurance to even get a hold of any one at Young Amarica and they asked for my bills and I sent them which was close to almost 5, 000 just the doctors bills. They where getting me all upset that I told them I was going to let my mother handle it because it was stressing me out so much because the woman I was talking to kept trying to get me to settle for 3, 000 to pay the bills and if I was lucky I would get maybe 500 left over. I told her I would talk to my health provider which because of a injery to my back and right knee I had been taking out of work so was on state health which I am greatful for. I did get a hold of my health providers and found out they mixed up something but I got it fix which Young Amarcia should of handled but it took me to do it because they seemed to be lazy. After I got that tooken care of I talked with with the woman from Young Amarcia again and tried at first tell me she never offered me a settlment at all which I had two witness with me who heard the hold talk between the two of us and also in formed me that they would pay back my health provider the close to now 2, 000 to them but I would still have to pay the remaining doctor bill which is almost 300 out of my own pocket and they only wanted to give me 1, 000 now after offering me 3, 000. I then asked her if they where going to settle with my Fiance who was in the accident with me and she said no because he didn't call them which was funny since when she called once after the accident she had talked to him and told him she couldn't talk to him but had to talk to me. She refused to talk to him about the accident at all even after he informed her that he had been in the car with me and got knocked around some but not enough to go to the hospital. Its pretty funny that unless you are hurt enough in a car accident that you have to go to the hospital to even get a settlement is just sad. Since dealing with Young Amarica I have been stressed out, bullied and upset by them so much that it is getting to the point that I just want to scream and pull my hair out. It just makes me scared to know that there is insurance company's out there that are like this who seem like people who are just greedy, its just sad what this world is coming to.
I want to make a complaint about some of the workers at Young America Insurance at Evans & Colorado in Denver, two of the employers weren't dressing appropiate they were working 8/30/10 they were closing. They were wearing a spaghetti shirt and they're boobs were all showing. If you could do something about this i'll aprreciate it. Thanks and my name is Alma reply to angeleye213@yahoo.com
It seems to me that most of the complaints with this insurance company happen to be because policyholders didn't read their policies. We have had young Americans for about 4 or 5 years now and I even got into a wreck. It clearly states on the policy issued to everyone by them, that drivers not listed on the policy aren't covered. That is how they keep rates low is by issuing driver based policies. I don't see how people can make complaints and expect sympathy when they're just trying to scam the insurance company by not adding drivers to the policy and paying for them like they should.
A REAL complaint would be that they were bought out by Fred Loya this last yr and have done away with the payment grace period and changed to a 30 day billing cycle. So now, not only is your due date always changing, but they get an extra payment out of you every few yrs because of it.
I went to a job interview at the newest Young America office in the Cleveland, Ohio area. I was the only candidate already licensed, with knowledge of Insurance. They said I was over qualified. The other guy they held over for an interview had previously flunked the insurance licensing exam. They said that I would have to not only hire, manage, sell, market, claims, service, search for leads, but also clean the restroom and stay in the office almost 60 hours a week. And they would start me at around $400 a week. They were trying to scare me away, as they only seemed interested in Latino and Black candidates. Their insurance products are not yet approved in Ohio. From what I know now, maybe the state should look a bit closer at this company. Reading the reviews, there is a long history of clients not understanding what they purchased. That sounds to me like their sales agents push more for sales than to help the insureds understand what they purchased. If you do purchase from this company, you should keep the Department of Insurance informed about how they sell and service their products. If you end up buying a policy from someone not licensed to legally sell in Ohio, you should notify the Department of Insurance. If they fail to fully inform you about what you are purchasing, you should call the Department of insurance.
About the "drivers not listed on the policy.: Check with your state and see what the state insurance law says. Regardless of what your policy says, the insurance company agrees to comply with state insurance law. And in most states, whoever drives your car is automatically covered by the insurance policy on the car. You should contact your State Insurance Department and make a complaint against Young American. You may find that they will turn around and cover the claim, rather than tangle with your state DOI. Even "State Minimum Insurance" is required to comply with insurance law.
And, regarding the due date changing, you should also complain to DOI. That is an unfair business practice, which should be reported. With insurance law, you can not be charged for reporting a complaint to a DOI, but the insurance company will have to pay the fees of the DOI for their inspectors to investigate the claim.
Young America SUCKS so I got a courtesy call for three days straight who does that anyhow so I finally answered and I asked how much was the policy and they told me $219 when it was suppose to be $96 and two different people told me this so I went to the office and cancelled my policy. They said that the payment may still come out of my account and I'll be getting a refund back in the mail but guess how much come out ... $82 so I called and they then told me that it was going to $73 well THANKS. If I was given the right info I would of never cancelled. They are not organized I would never do business with them EVER!
I agree 100% I am in Montgomry, AL and a lady backed into the side of my SUV and did over $1, 000 in damages at first I did not worry as she had insurance and it was in town with Young America. They took photo's and said they would pay, a Month later I called and was told they found I was 20% at fault because I did not blow my horn and tell her she was about to hit me. "I did not see her" So in AL if both cars are at fault nobody pays. So they will not pay anything on my SUV. What is the point of insurance if they do not pay, there should be a law
