A Personal Take on YouTube TV
Hey there! If you're considering YouTube TV, here's my take on it. YouTube TV offers a wide range of channels, including popular ones like ABC, CBS, NBC, and ESPN. The service provides an easy-to-use interface, unlimited DVR space, and the ability to watch live and on-demand content. However, some users have reported issues with customer service and billing, which can be frustrating. Overall, YouTube TV can be a good option for those looking to cut the cord and access live TV streaming, but it's essential to be aware of potential drawbacks. Give it a try and see if it fits your viewing needs!
Amount of Commercials is Ridiculous!
The amount of on-demand commercials is truly ridiculous. They are 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 minutes long. If you missed something by 10 seconds and want to go back and look at it, and happen to go into the commercial zone again, it makes you watch them all over again. Commercials start before you even start watching, then more a few minutes in and more after a small few second break. The commercials are very long and repeat the same ones over and over. You cannot fast forward or rewind the commercials. Extremely frustrating considering you are paying $75 per month!
YouTube customer service and business practice sucks
Tried abYoutube Tv trial and would you believe I got a partial trial could never watch it on Tv and just some parts of it on the IPad; then no matter what I did I was unable to cancel the trial, some YouTube site asking for my credit card info just to call 'em on the phone which I didn't do. Thief YouTube billed my account and withdrew 57.00 overdrawing my bank account. Everybody ought to file against them with BBB. I wouldn't care if they take all of the services and out them out of Busness. They don't even appreciate or respect their own customers that sucks until it hurts. Who wants to pay to be mistreated and disrespected. I'm done with 'em for the most part.

Good Channel Selection But Interface Has Major Issues
While the channel selection is really good, there are two major flaws with the YouTube TV interface:
1 - There is no easy way to scroll through the TV schedule for multiple days ahead. You can easily search for a specific show, but just wanting to get a bird's eye view of the schedule is impossible if you want to go more than 48 hours or so.
2 - Even if you mark a TV show to record, it won't necessarily show up in "New In Your Library". You CAN however scroll through a list of TV shows/movies that you have recorded, but it's really easy to lose track of what may be new to watch; there's no way to sort by "oldest to newest" or vice versa.
These two issues really need to be fixed to make YouTube TV more user friendly! It's not really a great replacement for a normal DVR as it stands now.
Meh-Just NOT that Great
I am using YouTube tv, only because that is what is offered here where I am renting an overpriced Room and the TV is YouTube. First, the Interface is HORRIBLE. Tiny print that is impossible to read even if you have good eyesight. The Interface is just downright difficult to navigate. I have had every cable service out there, and this is by far the poorest design of interface I have come across. Very poor design. Whoever designed this interface should go take a closer look at almost ANY other cable service interface. Worst of all is the DVR. There may be unlimited storage, but constant issues w failure to record, episodes of recording that just randomly disappear, and random inability to fast forward or go go backward. It seems every day there is another quality and user issue I am trying to overcome. Overall, I HATE this service. I will NEVER order this service for TV viewing when I move. It is WAYYY overpriced for how clunky it is w much work needed to be done to overcome many random glitches, and just poor design.
Volume Issues
Lips don't match up A LOT of the time! It's annoying. But it's inexpensive I gotta admit so far. Has several shows for everyone, still lips don't add up and constantly TV.
Damned if you do damned if you don't
The channel lineup excellent being able to delete worthless and useless channels. Would be better if they had a weather channel. The price is excellent. The only downside is YouTube TV AKA Google does not have live one-on-one customer support. They feel they do not need a telephone number to do business. Their motto is Don't sell the customer what he wants sell him what you got. And to top it off if you are able to get someone on the phone it is not an american-based site it's a bunch of foreigners reading from q cards
Good when it plays
I've been subscribed to YouTube tv for about two months. The reason I did is because it was listed #1 on the top ten list. But, for the last two months I get a lot of freezing and buffering especially on playback recordings and commercials. I have other streaming services I use and do not have this problem, so I know it's not my internet. I like the channels I'm able to get and the unlimited recording. I do wish that you could delete a recording that you have already watched would make it easier to simply to find the new recording. But because of the freezing and buffering (hard to enjoy a program when it keeps doing that) I will be cancelling my subscription.
Customer service worse than the dmv

Hi, Jason! Thanks for contacting YouTube TV Support! My name is Therese and I hope all is well today.
I can see here that you have a concern about the NFL RedZone. Can you please tell me more about the issue so that I can give you the best resolution?
Therese Marie · 11:42 AM
sure
I had the service. Last week it was turned off. I don't know why. I'd like it back on
11:43 AM

Thank you for confirming. One moment please.
Hi, I already checked your account and we need to authenticate your account first so that I can look more about your subscription. No worries, I just need to send you a verification code through your mobile phone. Is this okay with you?
Therese Marie · 11:46 AM
sure
11:46 AM
T
Thank you.
Once you receive it, read the confirmation code back to me so I can verify it and you'll be authenticated!

Thank you for authenticating the account.
Therese Marie · 11:47 AM
awesome. so can you help me?
11:48 AM
T
You said a while ago that you have a NFL RedZone, right?
Therese Marie · 11:48 AM
correct. I was working fine until last weekend.
11:49 AM
T
Under this email account? [protected]@gmail.com.
Therese Marie · 11:50 AM
yep for sure
11:50 AM
T
Let me double check again.
Can you confirm to me when did you purchased your subscription?
Therese Marie · 11:52 AM
let me check my account. one sec
11:53 AM
T
Sure, take your time.
Therese Marie · 11:53 AM
looks like I paid it 5/30/23
got the inaugural offer
11:55 AM
T
I see.
Therese Marie · 11:56 AM
so... can you help me? Not sure whats going on here
11:56 AM
T
Actually, I already see here the one you've been looking. However, it was on last May 2023, and this was your previous subscription and it is already cancelled last November 02, 2023.
You have a new subscription now and it is only a YouTube TV Base Plan only.
Therese Marie · 12:00 PM
I do not have a new subscription. My credit card on file had a fraud prevention hit and they had to cancel out my card. I entered a new one in your system. I never canceled my plan
why was it canceled for one and why did my "new subscription" not have exactly the same things as it did before?
12:01 PM
T
I do apologize for the inconvenience but it was already cancelled last November 02, 2023.
Therese Marie · 12:02 PM
again why was it canceled
12:02 PM
T
All I can see here is already cancelled and you resubscribe again and now it is only YouTube TV.
Therese Marie · 12:04 PM
then can you fix it and put it back to the way it was
and again for the record, I did not cancel it
12:04 PM
T
For now, there is nothing that I can do since it is already in the system and also we only have limited access here in our end.
Therese Marie · 12:06 PM
is there someone who can help me
12:06 PM
T
There is only me that can help you right now. Even if I will give you to some customer service agents. They will give you the same resolution about this.
Therese Marie · 12:07 PM
so basically what you are telling me is the service that I paid for, you will not provide me with going forward and there is nothing that can be done to change that. Is that correct
12:08 PM
T
Yes.
All I can suggest is add again the NFL Sunday Ticket to your subscription so that you can have the access to NFL Sunday games.
Therese Marie · 12:08 PM
i will be sending a copy of this transcript to the better business bureau as well as the NFL. You are robbing people and your customer service department is flat out saying they will not help. I will not pay a second time for a service I have already paid for.
12:09 PM
T
I do apologize for the inconvenience.
Therese Marie · 12:09 PM
for it to be your policy to say you will not either reimburse me or turn on the service that I paid for is unfair and I am prepared to fight your company on this
12:10 PM
T
One moment please.
Therese Marie · 12:12 PM
no problem. By the way, I'm cutting and pasting this transcript and sending it right now to both my open ticket with the BBB and to the NFL
12:13 PM
T
I really do apologize about this. However, as much as I love to help you with your concerns. All I can do right now is to tell you about what happen on your subscription that it is already cancelled last May 2023 and you request to cancel it.
Therese Marie · 12:16 PM
I never requested to cancel it
that is a flat out lie
your company is literally trying to steal from me. In every sense of the word
12:16 PM
T
We are not trying to steal money from our customers because it is a big scene. We are loyal to our customers.
Therese Marie · 12:17 PM
you are not. you turned off my service that I paid for and then to make it worse, you will not turn it back on without making me pay for it a second time
and you clearly have no intention of trying to help
12:18 PM
T
There is a record here that it is requested from our customer to cancel his subscription.
Therese Marie · 12:18 PM
really. Show me that message. Show me something from my ip address cancelign
canceling
show me logging into the account and canceling the account
show me the email you sent me saying my account has been canceled and you are sorry to see me go
why would I cancel my account in mid season if I am purchasing the nfl sunday ticket
why would I re-join as a member the same day
this is completely not true.
12:20 PM
T
I'm sorry about this, I know you are frustrated about what happened and all I can see here is the active subscription and that is YouTube TV Base Plan.
Therese Marie · 12:21 PM
and you refuse to turn back on the service that I paid for. You are not sorry. You are mean actually. If you simply turn back on the service that I paid for, you have a happy customer. But you don't care. You are holding to your guns for god knows why.
again, will post this conversation anywhere and everywhere I can. My mission is to cost your company as much money as I possibly can at this point.
12:22 PM
T
We have a policy here about the refund. That we can only process a refund less than 120 days from the date the customer contact us and that was May and today is already November.
It was already months ago since the day you cancel your subscription. And the maximum of refund here is only 120 days.
Therese Marie · 12:25 PM
im not asking for a refund. I'm asking you turn back on the service I paid for. And again, I did not cancel
and you keep saying I did with no proof that I did
12:26 PM
T
I cannot do anything about getting back your subscription since it is already cancelled. All I can suggest for you is to re subscribe again.
Therese Marie · 12:27 PM
Recommendation: don't use this service. they can turn it off for no reason and then reinstate it with a different service plan.
Lack of sports
I have been considering changing services from YouTube TV to another platform and the only stopping me is the recording capabilities. YouTube TV is light-years better in that regard. The drawback is their unwillingness to provide a wider spectrum of sports networks. They recently killed the MLB network. They are almost completely void of any RSNs. It's enough to make me reconsider. I'm currently on the fence and will consider trying another provider. If you really like sports, don't use YouTube TV.
Recommendation: If you're a fan of sports, pass on YouTube TV.
Cut the Cord with Ease: A Review of YouTube TV's User-Friendly Interface and DVR Options
Overall, YouTube TV is a great option for those looking to cut the cord and ditch traditional cable. The interface is easy to navigate, and the ability to add shows to your library and have them DVR'd is a game-changer. Plus, the option to invite up to five family members with their own private access is a huge plus.
One downside is the lack of Comedy Central, which may be a deal-breaker for some. Additionally, there are a lot of obscure sports networks to sift through, but this seems to be a common issue with all streaming services.
But the ability to watch live and on-demand shows, pause live TV, and fast forward and rewind through shows is priceless. And with no hidden costs or unexpected add-ons, YouTube TV is a great value for the price.
If you're looking for a reliable streaming service with a user-friendly interface and plenty of options for live and on-demand TV, YouTube TV is definitely worth checking out.
Disappointing Experience with YouTube TV: Poor Support and High Costs
Me and my family recently moved from Texas to Ohio and we decided to try out YouTube TV for our cable needs. However, we ran into some issues with their system when we tried to update our "home area" in order to access all the channels in our plan. Despite following their instructions multiple times, we were unable to make the necessary changes before the deadline they gave us to avoid service restrictions.
We were extremely frustrated with the situation and decided to cancel our service, which won't take effect until the end of March 2023. When I reached out to their customer service representative, I was told that because our subscription was marked for cancellation, they couldn't update our home area so we could use the service for the last two weeks we were being charged for. This was a huge disappointment, especially since Google is a technology company that should be able to easily solve this problem. It felt like they were purposely trying to force customers to remain active on their plan.
To make matters worse, YouTube TV recently increased their prices by over 10%, which is a huge jump. Given the poor support we experienced and the high cost of the service, we would not recommend using YouTube TV. It's just not worth the hassle and expense.
Disappointing Experience with YouTube TV: Clumsy System, Limited Channels, and Commercials Galore
So, I decided to give YouTube TV a try for a month and let me tell you, it was not a good experience. First of all, they charge extra money for 4K, which is a freebie with Fubo. I found the system to be very clumsy and difficult to operate, which is surprising considering Google's experience with video. It's also very difficult to erase a recording, and the navigation gets more and more cluttered over time. I believe the recordings are purged after 9 months, which is not ideal.
Another thing to be aware of is that YouTube TV does not have the History or Science channel. This was a big disappointment for me, as I enjoy watching those channels. When it comes to recordings, YouTube TV falls short compared to other services like Philo and Frndly. With those services, you can easily skip past commercials, but with YouTube TV, that's not always possible. I found myself spending a lot of money only to be bombarded with commercials during my favorite shows. They even aired commercials from India, which was quite strange.
Overall, I can't say much positive about YouTube TV. The only good thing I can say is that it was easy to cancel. I will be going back to Fubo for the football season and either Philo or Frndly for the off-season. I also had some technical issues with the DVR, and when I tried to contact customer service, I was directed to their website with no answers or help. All in all, I would not recommend YouTube TV.
YouTube TV Customer Service is a Disgrace: A Review
I stumbled upon YouTube TV while trying to catch a local football game. Once I got it set up, I was pretty happy with it. But then, a glitch appeared and the app kept asking me to sign in. I tried several times, but the instructions were so confusing. They told me to go to YouTube, even though I was trying to fix YouTube TV. It was so frustrating that I decided to see if I could get a customer representative on the phone.
After a while, I found a chat line that was pretty inadequate. Eventually, I got through to a phone center that seemed to be in Bangladesh. It sounded like a sweatshop with all kinds of echoes and chatter. I explained my issue, but they told me that YouTube had no customer service and that I had been directed to a third-party service.
They said that for a one-time fee of $29.99, they could fix my problem. But it turned out to be a technical glitch that wasn't my fault. I could hear them in the background, spewing the same racket to all incoming calls. I think Google and YouTube should be ashamed of themselves!
I refused to pay the ransom and told them to shove it! I cancelled my YouTube Premium and YouTube TV subscriptions. I simply won't tolerate such low-life customer service. It makes Comcast/Exfinity seem helpful by comparison.
YouTube TV: No Instructions, No Help - Worst Experience Ever!
So, I decided to give YouTube TV a try and boy was I in for a ride. I went to their website and entered my profile information, hoping to get a free trial of a week or more to try it out. But, instead of getting what I wanted, I was given only 2 days to test it out. Disappointed, I proceeded to try and find out how to set it up on my 4 TV sets, some of which were smart TVs and one that was 10 years old.
I searched the website for simple instructions on how to set it up on different TVs, but to my dismay, there were none. Although there was a list of TVs, it didn't specify the models or how to set it up. I was left wondering if I should use Roku or how exactly to set it up on my 4 different TVs. I tried going to the community for help, but that took a lot of wasted time and didn't provide any real answers. I even tried searching on Google for a video, but the only one I found was over 2 years old and not very helpful.
As frustration set in, I decided to look for the customer service phone number. However, it was hard to find and when I finally did, I couldn't get any help there either. By this point, I had spent most of the day trying to figure out how to set it up and had gotten nowhere.
So, I decided to try setting it up with TV stations instead. But, I couldn't seem to get that done either. The opening of YouTube TV was unreal - no menu, no help. I felt like I had been sold a product with no instructions and no help.
It's hard to believe that a company that handles "how-to" videos could sell a product that doesn't have one. This was the worst experience I've ever had with no customer service to help me out. I hope they improve their service and provide better instructions for their customers in the future.
YouTube TV: Terrible Customer Service and Service Interruptions
I've been using YouTube TV for almost three years now, and I've been on autopay since day one. I've never missed a payment and have always been on time. However, four days ago, my service was shut off for no apparent reason. Nothing has changed, not my credit card, not my pay date, not even my autopay. I was left without any service, and I couldn't get any resolution from either side.
Despite paying via autopay, both YouTube TV and Verizon Fios kept blaming each other for the issue, and I was left with no service and no resolution. I've always wanted to add HULU to my streaming services, and I think it's time to do so with a different internet service provider.
Verizon has been working with me to find a resolution, but YouTube TV has been the worst. They have nothing to say other than "we didn't get paid," which is not true. It took nearly a week, but my service is finally back on. Verizon gave me a one-month credit for the interruption, while YouTube TV offered nothing.
I will most likely be switching my streaming service with the next promo or special offered by HULU+TV. YouTube/Google has ABSOLUTELY the worst customer service of any industry. You are constantly connected with overseas centers, and I'm sorry, but if you cannot speak clear English, you should not be doing customer service for American customers. I asked several times to speak with a supervisor, but I was never connected, and I was never called back despite multiple requests and promises that I would be called back.
I was seriously considering getting a Pixel cell phone, but I will never purchase anything associated with Google. I do not recommend buying anything associated with Google. If something goes wrong, getting help is a nightmare. This is not my first encounter with a Google service. I had started using Google Voice a few years ago but ran into several issues trying to get with that service also. Basically, you have to rely on community forums for any help. Google just doesn't care about its customers.
Terrible Customer Service: My Experience with YouTube TV and Google
be great if they actually had a way to cancel your membership. But unfortunately, that's not the case. I had a trial with YOUTUBETV back in December of 2022. When my trial ended, I went to their website to cancel. I clicked on the "CANCEL NOW" button, but it took me to a membership page that only showed options for adding more stuff. It didn't mention cancellation at all. I thought I had done everything I could do, but in January, I was charged for the whole month.
I disputed the charge, but it was pending. I tried to find a phone number or email address for YOUTUBETV or GOOGLE, but I found absolutely nothing. CITI, the credit card company I used for the trial, kept charging me, and I kept disputing. They sent me messages saying that Google had until 4/1 or 4/2 to respond. They sent me a letter denying my dispute and putting the charge back on my account. They said a response from GOOGLE/YOUTUBE TV was attached, but it wasn't.
On 2/23, I tried to reach GOOGLE again. I finally found a place to dispute a charge, and they sent me an email saying they would look into it. But they obviously never did because they've been charging me every month since then. I tried researching again and disputing the charge. When I did that, it took me to a page that showed the memberships I had with them. The only one they showed was for 11/2020, which was several years ago. Plus, they sent me an email asking me to come back to YOUTUBETV.
I'm very disappointed in both companies. They both failed me. I've given CITI seven days to resolve this, or I will close out my account. That's more than enough time in my opinion. I would not recommend either of these companies to join. The opportunity to speak with a live agent doesn't exist. For GOOGLE, you can't even write everything you need to before you run out of characters. I will never, ever deal with GOOGLE/YOUTUBETV again. I hope and pray that no one else ever has to go through what I am still going through.
Buyer Beware: My Experience with YouTube TV's Tech Support and Account Access
I recently tried out YouTube TV and I have to say, it was a bit of a rollercoaster ride. I signed up for the free trial in early June 2022 and was charged $59.39 on June 18th for the discounted first two months. During the trial period, I was able to access the service, but I had to authenticate my account almost every time I opened the site. It was a bit annoying, but I figured it was just part of the process.
However, things took a turn for the worse when I was locked out of my account after being charged. I tried everything I could think of to figure out what went wrong. I spent hours scouring the internet, consulted with my IT staff at work, and even talked to some tech-savvy friends, but nothing worked. The worst part was that YouTube TV doesn't offer human tech support, which was beyond frustrating. So, if you're thinking of signing up, keep that in mind!
I eventually emailed Google at ***@google.com to try and resolve the issue. I explained that I couldn't access my account because the system wouldn't recognize the phone number I entered for the dual authentication process. Without access to the account, I couldn't access the service. But, the response I got was not what I was hoping for. They told me that my account couldn't be restored because "it was found to have been used in a way that violated Google policies." I was at a loss for what to do next.
I tried emailing again, this time demanding a refund for a service I couldn't access. But, I got the same response from Google Accounts. They wouldn't budge on their decision. So, I had no choice but to inform my credit card company. The dispute is still ongoing, but there's a catch. The credit card company requires evidence of cancelling the service, which I can't do since I can't access my account. It's a frustrating situation, but my credit card company was kind enough to credit me the charge of $59.39 as a goodwill gesture.
All in all, I want to warn anyone thinking of signing up for YouTube TV to be careful. This service is not forgiving, especially if you're not tech-savvy. Make sure you read all the terms and conditions before signing up, and be prepared for the possibility of not being able to access your account.
YouTube TV Review: Terrible User Experience, Pixelated Video Quality, and Too Many Ads
This YouTube TV thing is a real pain in the neck. I mean, I don't know what they were thinking when they made it. The online and mobile experiences are just terrible. Every time I try to save a setting, it says "you're all set" and "error" at the same time. And the error message is just gibberish. I mean, what does "could not save the following" even mean? It's like they're trying to confuse me on purpose.
And don't even get me started on inviting family members to join your family circle. You can invite them by email, but then they can't accept the invite unless they have a Gmail account. What kind of nonsense is that? It took me hours to figure that out.
And the videos are always starting off pixelated. I mean, come on, we have the best internet and everything. Other streaming apps never have this problem. And then there are all these ads. I mean, I get it, they have to make money somehow. But why offer me a DVR if I can't fast-forward through the ads? And don't even get me started on the "our picks for you" interruptions. They're just ads for random shows.
Overall, it's just not a very nice experience. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
*** UPDATE ***
So, I've been using YouTube TV for a month now, and I have to say, it's even worse than I thought. The video quality is just terrible about 20% of the time. It's pixelated, jerky, and the colors are all faded. And I'm not having these problems with my other streaming services, so it's definitely YouTube TV's fault.
And the ads. Oh my god, the ads. I take back what I said before. There are a lot of ads on most shows. It's like I'm back in the olden days when I had to get up and wash dishes for 10 minutes while the ads were playing. And the mobile app is just a sales app for Google. It's always trying to get me to buy more stuff.
Honestly, I'm switching back to Comcast. At least they have fewer ads, and I can fast-forward through most of them. And the video quality isn't so terrible.
*** UPDATE ***
Okay, I have one more update. YouTube TV just sent me a notice that regional sports are no longer available. And they're giving me two days' notice. What kind of dysfunctional company does that? Without regional sports, there's no reason to pay over $50 a month for YouTube TV. I'm just going to stick with Netflix and other streaming services. They have so many great shows and movies, and they're much cheaper.
YouTubeTV Review: Great Sports Channels, Clunky Platform, High Cost
I gotta give credit where credit is due, and let me tell you, YouTube TV's sports channel selection is absolutely fantastic. My husband and brother-in-law are glued to the TV, barely able to tear themselves away from all the great options. They're both really impressed with the selection, and they've made sure to let me know. Apparently, YouTubeTV is even better than ESPN in a lot of ways.
As for regular TV channels, I've been binge-watching Cake Wars so much that I swear I've gained five pounds just from watching. I've had to start sitting farther away from the screen! Unfortunately, Lifetime isn't included in the lineup, and I'm totally addicted to one of the shows on there. It's a real bummer. Plus, sometimes it's hard to re-watch earlier broadcasts. For example, HLN has been doing some really great coverage of the George Floyd case, but if you miss a day, it can be tough to catch up on what you missed.
When it comes to movies, YouTubeTV definitely has a better selection of newer films than other platforms like Flex, Peacock, or Tubi. They pull from all those platforms to create a pretty solid collection. However, there are a few issues. First of all, a lot of the featured films are "upcoming," which means you have to wait a day or two to watch them. It's super frustrating to click on something you're excited to watch, only to find out you have to wait. And with movie trilogies or franchises, they often only have a fraction of the complete series. For example, they only have 19 out of the 23 Marvel Franchise films. It's definitely not perfect.
The platform itself is pretty clunky and not very user-friendly. It looks a lot like regular YouTube, which is fine for YouTube, but not so great for a streaming service. It needs a major overhaul in terms of searching and finding content. If you want to watch Fox or CNN, for example, you can search for them, but the results are often too broad or too few. It's confusing and not very descriptive. And even if you specifically search for "LIVE TV," a lot of the channels won't actually be playing. It's definitely another downside.
One major con for us is that YouTubeTV won't work with a VPN. More and more people are using VPNs for online security, and sometimes I like to use social media while I have the TV on in the background. But with YouTubeTV, if you try to run a VPN, it just won't connect. It's a huge bummer.
And finally, there's the cost. I'm a pretty frugal person, and while I like nice things, I love a good deal even more. Paying almost $76 a month for this service bugs me, especially when there are other options out there like Hulu that offer almost the same number of channels for $10-$12 less per month. I mean, what's $12? It's three gallons of milk, two quarts of Baskin Robbins mint chocolate chip ice cream, a co-pay on a prescription, the difference between an older model and newer model external hard-drive on Amazon, a dog toy that will last a week in this house, and enough to gas up my car for 3.5 visits with my grandmother. But on the other hand, can I really put a price on seeing my husband happy after a long day's work, relaxing on a plush leather recliner and watching his favorite NFL team score a touchdown while he waits for a slice of my latest cake-decorating masterpiece?
It's a tough call, but overall, I have to say that while YouTubeTV has a great selection of channels, it falls short in too many other areas to win over our loyalty. If we can find a streaming service that offers the same channels for less, we'll definitely be making the switch.
YouTube TV Complaints 11
Very buggy, frequently pixelated videos, lots and lots of ads
Both online and mobile experiences are very buggy. If you save a setting, it will say "you're all set" and "error" at the same time and the error explanation will be undecipherable such as "could not save the following" (following... what?). If you invite a family member to join your family circle, it will allow you to invite them by email but then that family member won't be able to accept your invite and hours of troubleshooting later you will discover that everyone in your family is required to have a gmail account (why?). And so on and so forth. It's unpleasant to use and very time-consuming to troubleshoot.
The videos often start off pixelated and often continue on low quality for a while, even though we have the highest-tier internet bandwidth and other streaming apps never have this issue.
Also there are LOTS of ads on some shows. YouTube's explanation is that they weren't able to negotiate better with the networks. Well then, don't offer me to DVR a show if I can't fast-forward through the ads - the whole purpose of DVR is to skip ads. And in addition to in-video ads from the networks, the YouTube TV app itself constantly interrupts you with "our picks for you" which of course are just ads for random shows.
Overall, not a very nice experience.
*** UPDATE ***
After using YouTube TV for a month, I am downgrading my review to 1 star.
The video continues to be EXTREMELY low quality about 20% of the time - I am talking pixelated, jerky, faded colors, you name it. I am not experiencing these issues with my other streaming services so it's definitely YouTube TV.
Also I take it back that there are a lot of ads on SOME shows. There are a lot of ads on MOST shows. It's like I am back to the olden days when I had to get up to wash the dishes for 10 minutes while the ads are playing.
Also the mobile app is supposed to be a "remote control" but instead it's a sales app for Google. It CONSTANTLY highjacks what you are doing to try to get you to buy more stuff.
Sadly, I will be switching back to Comcast, at least it had less ads and more of them could be fast forwarded, and the video quality wasn't so abysmal.
*** UPDATE ***
I have another update. On Feb-27, YouTube sent a notice that as of Feb-29, regional sports are no longer available (yes, it's a two-day notice, how dysfunctional their corporate must be). Without regional sports, there is simply no reason to pay over $50/month for YouTube TV when there are so many wonderful shows and movies available on Netflix and other streaming services, for much less.
Disappointed with YouTube TV's Ad Overload: A Review
I gotta say, I'm not too impressed with YouTube TV. I mean, sure, it's got a lot of channels and all that, but the ads are just ridiculous. I swear, every time I try to rewind something to watch it again, I end up having to sit through like three minutes of commercials before I can even get back to where I was. And if I can't remember exactly when the funny part was, forget about it - I'll end up watching another five-minute ad just trying to find it again. It's like they're trying to force us to watch their ads or something.
Honestly, I think I might have to switch to a different TV service. I mean, why should I have to pay for all these channels if I can't even watch them without being bombarded by ads every five seconds? It's just not worth it. Maybe I'll try out one of those streaming services or something. At least then I won't have to deal with all these commercials.
Anyway, that's just my two cents. If you're thinking about signing up for YouTube TV, I'd say think twice. Unless you really love watching ads, in which case, go for it. But personally, I'm taking my money elsewhere.
Review: YouTube TV - Great Channel Lineup and Price, But Lacks Customer Support
I recently tried out YouTube TV and I have to say, I was impressed with the channel lineup. It's great that you can delete channels that you don't find useful or interesting. However, I do wish they had a weather channel available.
The price for YouTube TV is also excellent. It's affordable and provides a lot of value for the money. However, there is one downside that I experienced. YouTube TV, which is owned by Google, does not have live one-on-one customer support. They don't even have a telephone number for customers to call.
Their motto seems to be "Don't sell the customer what he wants, sell him what you got." This can be frustrating for customers who have specific questions or issues that they need help with.
And if you do manage to get someone on the phone, it's not an American-based site. Instead, you'll be speaking with foreigners who are reading from cue cards. This can make it difficult to get the help you need in a timely and efficient manner.
Overall, I think YouTube TV is a great option for those who want an affordable and customizable TV experience. However, the lack of customer support can be a major drawback for some people. If you're comfortable with troubleshooting issues on your own, then YouTube TV is definitely worth considering.

YouTube TV Review: Great Features, But Commercial Overload
YouTube TV is a streaming service that has been gaining popularity in recent years. However, there are some issues that need to be addressed. One of the biggest problems with YouTube TV is the amount of on-demand commercials. They are simply too long, ranging from 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 minutes. This can be extremely frustrating, especially if you miss something and need to go back and watch it again. If you happen to go into the commercial zone again, you will have to watch them all over again.
Another issue with YouTube TV is the frequency of commercials. They start before you even start watching, then more a few minutes in and more after a small few second break. This can be very annoying, especially if you are trying to watch a show or movie without any interruptions. The commercials are also very repetitive, playing the same ones over and over again.
To make matters worse, you cannot fast forward or rewind the commercials. This means that you are forced to watch them in their entirety, even if you have already seen them multiple times. This can be extremely frustrating, especially considering that you are paying $75 per month for the service.
Overall, while YouTube TV has some great features, such as a wide selection of channels and the ability to record shows, the amount and frequency of commercials is a major issue. If you are someone who doesn't mind watching a lot of commercials, then YouTube TV may be a good option for you. However, if you are someone who wants to watch shows and movies without any interruptions, then you may want to consider another streaming service.
Mixed Feelings About YouTube TV: A Review
I've been subscribed to YouTube TV for about two months now, and I gotta say, it's been a bit of a mixed bag. I decided to give it a shot because it was listed as the number one streaming service on a top ten list I found online. And while there are definitely some things I like about it, there are also some pretty major issues that have been causing me some frustration.
First off, let's talk about the good stuff. One thing I really appreciate about YouTube TV is the selection of channels. There are a lot of great options, and I've been able to find pretty much everything I want to watch. And the unlimited recording feature is a game-changer. I love being able to record as much as I want without worrying about running out of space.
But unfortunately, there have been some pretty significant issues that have been making it hard for me to fully enjoy the service. The biggest problem I've been experiencing is freezing and buffering. It seems to happen most often when I'm watching playback recordings or commercials. And while I've tried troubleshooting my internet connection, I'm pretty sure it's not a problem on my end. I have other streaming services that work just fine, so it seems like it must be an issue with YouTube TV specifically.
Another thing that's been a bit of a hassle is the fact that you can't delete recordings once you've watched them. It's not a huge deal, but it does make it a bit harder to find the new recordings I want to watch. I wish there was an option to delete old recordings to make it easier to navigate.
All in all, I'm not sure if I'll be sticking with YouTube TV for much longer. While there are definitely some things I like about it, the freezing and buffering issues have been making it hard to enjoy my favorite shows. If they can fix those issues, I might consider giving it another shot. But for now, I think I'll be cancelling my subscription.
Disappointing Experience with YouTube TV: Partial Trial, Billing Issues, and Poor Customer Service
So, I decided to give YouTube TV a try and boy was I disappointed. I only got a partial trial and couldn't even watch it on my TV, only on my iPad. And even then, I could only watch some parts of it. It was a real hassle trying to cancel the trial too. I kept getting redirected to some YouTube site that wanted my credit card info just to call them on the phone. I didn't feel comfortable doing that, so I just gave up.
But then, to make matters worse, YouTube went ahead and billed my account anyway. They even withdrew $57.00, which overdrew my bank account. I was livid! I think everyone should file a complaint against them with the BBB.
It's just not right how they treat their customers. They don't appreciate or respect us at all. It's like they don't even care if we have a good experience or not. Who wants to pay for a service that mistreats and disrespects them? Not me, that's for sure.
I'm pretty much done with YouTube TV at this point. I don't think I'll be giving them another chance anytime soon. It's just not worth the hassle and frustration.
Terrible Customer Service Experience with YouTube TV: Scam or Incompetence?
So, I gotta tell you about my experience with YouTube TV. My sister, who has a disability, accidentally signed up for a super expensive package because she couldn't figure out how to work the remote. It wasn't until I tried to watch TV on that set that I realized what had happened. I called up customer service and was on the phone for over an hour and a half. I gave them all the info they needed, but then they told me they were having trouble with Cash App, which is what they wanted me to use to pay for the package. The rep then suggested I use Zelle instead and they would reimburse me. I was like, "What kind of scam is this?" I still haven't gotten my refund and now I don't have any TV service. To make matters worse, when I asked to speak to a manager, this guy named Rawn Bellford hung up on me! I'm all about good customer service, so I think I'm gonna have to switch to a different provider.
YouTube TV Review: Impressive Channel Selection, But Room for Improvement
I gotta say, I'm pretty impressed with YouTube TV. They got a lot of channels to choose from, which is great. But, there are a couple things that could use some work.
First off, it's kinda hard to see what's coming up on TV in the next few days. You can search for a specific show, but if you just wanna see what's on, it's tough to go more than a couple days ahead. I mean, come on, I wanna plan my TV watching in advance!
Secondly, if you record a show, it might not show up in the "New In Your Library" section. You can still find it if you scroll through your recordings, but it's hard to tell what's new and what's old. I wish there was a way to sort by date, so I could see what I haven't watched yet.
Overall, I think YouTube TV is pretty good. But, they gotta fix these issues if they wanna be a real contender in the DVR game.
YouTube TV Review: Budget-Friendly Option with Frustrating Set-Up Process
I recently had an experience with YouTube TV that left me feeling frustrated and annoyed. My neighbor wanted to get YouTube TV on their smart TV, but unfortunately, their TV wasn't compatible. So, we decided to buy a Roku instead. After setting up the Roku and logging into YouTube TV, we were hit with an error message that said it couldn't verify our location.
To make matters worse, I don't have a smartphone, only a flip phone. It took us an entire hour to find someone with a smartphone, and then we had to connect my YouTube account to the account of the person with the smartphone. They then sent me a passcode to my flip phone, which the other person had to enter into their phone. It was a long and frustrating process, and there was no one to call for help. YouTube TV doesn't have a phone number for support, only help pages that made the situation even more frustrating.
Despite the hassle, YouTube TV is still one of the cheaper ways to get local TV channels. I don't personally understand the appeal of local channels, but I know some people really value them. Overall, I would say that YouTube TV is a decent option for those looking for a budget-friendly way to access local channels, but be prepared for some frustration along the way.
Nightmare to Cancel: My Experience with YouTube TV
I thought that YouTube TV would be a trustworthy service, but I was completely wrong. It's a nightmare to cancel. When I signed up for the free trial, I gave my credit card information and it only took two minutes. However, when I tried to cancel, it was a completely different story. The website is a joke. When you try to cancel, they send you to a page to add more channels. I spent hours trying to cancel, and it was impossible. I was so frustrated that I sent non-stop complaints. Every time they asked for feedback, I gave them an earful.
Finally, someone emailed me and said that I was canceled. But I don't believe them. They said that I was canceled when I canceled at the end of my free trial. YouTube TV is not senior-friendly, and they are not transparent. Why do they have to scam people out of their money and offer terrible websites and no customer service? They should give their members great TV and excellent customer service. I judge companies based on their customer support, and they are not worth the high blood pressure.
Oh great, now I have to work on the past charges. The TV was okay, but the service is a -10. I hope that they improve their service and make it easier to cancel. It's not fair to scam people out of their money. I would not recommend YouTube TV to anyone.
Unreliable and Frustrating: My Experience with YouTube TV
I've been using YouTube TV for a while now, and I have to say, it's not my favorite. The only reason I'm using it is because it's the only option available in the overpriced room I'm renting. Let's start with the interface. It's just terrible. The print is so small that even with good eyesight, it's impossible to read. And navigating through the interface is a nightmare. I've had every cable service out there, and this one has the worst design by far. Whoever designed it needs to take a closer look at almost any other cable service interface out there.
But the worst part is the DVR. Sure, there may be unlimited storage, but it's constantly failing to record, episodes that I've recorded just randomly disappear, and sometimes I can't even fast forward or go backward. It seems like every day there's a new issue that I have to overcome. Overall, I really hate this service. I would never order it for TV viewing when I move. It's just too clunky and requires too much work to overcome all the random glitches and poor design.
In conclusion, if you're looking for a reliable and user-friendly cable service, I would definitely not recommend YouTube TV. It's just not worth the high price tag and all the frustration that comes with it.
