Uninterested and Disappointing: My Experience with Zzounds Customer Service and Shipping
Zzounds is a strange retailer. They don't seem to particularly care about their customers, which is really disappointing. It feels like they're only interested in taking your money and moving on to the next sale. So don't expect to be treated like a valuable customer here because that's not going to happen.
I had an experience where I contacted customer service about an issue with my order, and it was pretty frustrating. They acted like it was a huge hassle to deal with me and my concerns about where my money went or why my product hadn't arrived yet. It's not a great feeling when you're trying to get answers to your questions, but the people you're speaking to are acting like you're wasting their time.
Their "free 2 Day shipping" offer is also misleading. It's not really two days from when you place your order. Instead, it's two days from when they start shipping, which could be days later. This means that you could order something on a Monday and not get it until the following week because they didn't start shipping until Friday. I've even had an experience where I was charged for a product, but it still hadn't shipped days later.
If I do ever get my product, I'll update this review about the quality of their open box products. But to be honest, I'm not sure if I'm even going to bother anymore. It's already day 4 of my "free 2 Day shipping," and I'm not feeling confident that I'll actually receive my order at all. It's pretty disappointing because I was looking forward to trying Zzounds out as an alternative to Sweetwater, where I usually get all of my gear. But the uninterested and lackluster attitude I encountered from Zzounds has been a major turnoff.
In conclusion, I don't think I'll be shopping at Zzounds again. They don't seem to appreciate or respect their customers, and that's just not the kind of company I want to do business with. There are plenty of other places that actually care about their customers, so I'll be taking my business elsewhere.
Untrustworthy zzounds: Dishonest Returns and Lost Guitars
So, I did some research on zzounds and I have to say, I am quite disappointed with the experience I had with them. I purchased a Gibson Les Paul Standard guitar with a beautiful AAA maple top, using their 12 pay plan. I played it a few times in my living room but found it to be quite heavy for my back, especially after serving in the US Army for 10 years. So, I decided to return it within their policy timeframe.
I was notified by UPS that the guitar was received by zzounds on March 3rd, 2023. I waited patiently for my refund of approximately $500 but never heard a word from them. After some time, I called them and enquired about my refund. They told me to give it a few days as their returns warehouse was still down. I waited for another week but still, nothing happened. This made me quite upset and frustrated.
One of the zzounds representatives, Jacob, told me that my guitar was lost in their warehouse and they were looking for it. He asked me to give them some more time to look for it. Just when I got off the phone with Jacob, I received an email from zzounds stating that the guitar I returned to them had considerable wear and tear on it, with scratches and dings all over it. But this was not true since the Les Paul I purchased and returned was in pristine mint condition. I emailed them back to let them know their mistake, but they didn't believe me and said they would send me pictures of the damage. Here's where the scam comes into play: they would send me pictures of a similar guitar and claim that it was the one I returned.
I was quite disappointed with their dishonesty since they told me that the returned guitar had $250 worth of damage. I have not received a penny of my remaining $500 back and I think they are total thieves. In my opinion, they are not trustworthy and I would not recommend anyone to buy from them.
Disappointing customer service experience with zZounds: Order canceled without notice, rude support and blames customer for their mistake
I ordered a product from zZounds three days ago. However, I did not get any update or notification regarding my order. So today, I decided to call them to follow up on the status of my purchase. Unfortunately, they informed me that my order was canceled. I was shocked and asked why they did this.
The support representative said that there was a mistake in mistyping my email address. I found it frustrating because they even got my name wrong on the order form. They wrote "Nason" instead of "Mason." I mean, come on, "Nason" is not even a common name.
Their customer service rep said that there was nothing that they could do and informed me that I should have read the FAQ page. I felt very let down by this. However, the representative's attitude towards my query was very upsetting. When I asked why my order was canceled, he replied sarcastically, saying that he understood that some people do not like reading and that I should have gone through the FAQ page.
He even sounded rude when I inquired about the reason behind canceling my order. He said that the page was quite long and that I should find it myself. At that point, I was becoming frustrated; I didn't even know where to search for the FAQ page. But he just kept repeating that the information I was asking for was on the page.
In essence, they canceled my order without notifying me, and instead blamed me for not reading their FAQ page. Even when I was trying to understand the issue, the support member was making derogatory comments. Therefore, I did not know what the problem was, and worse yet, they offered no solutions to fix it.
I placed a second order, but if my experience with zZounds remains subpar, I will undoubtedly never purchase from them again.
Disappointing Experience: zZounds Fails to Deliver on Promises & Quality Control
I decided to take a chance and purchase an instrument from zZounds, even though I had never bought anything from them before. To be honest, I didn't even bother to read any reviews about the company before hitting that "buy" button. Little did I know, I would regret not doing my research.
The process of purchasing was smooth and easy, but once it came to delivery, things started to go downhill. I was under the impression that I would receive my item within 2 days, as their website states "free 2 day shipping." However, when my package finally arrived, it had taken over a week to get to me. I was informed that it had been sent out as "ground" shipping, which can take much longer. That was the first lie.
To make matters worse, FedEx was experiencing some staffing issues, so I was told that I would have to wait an additional 3-5 days to get my package. I was frustrated and disappointed, but I knew it wasn't entirely zZounds' fault. However, when I contacted them to ask about the shipping time, I was met with a cold and indifferent response. Their attitude seemed to be "it's in our policy, deal with it or refuse the package." At that point, I didn't think things could get much worse.
However, once I received the package, I discovered that there were three strings on the guitar that were muffled. This indicated a potential issue with the neck, frets, or nut. I wasn't happy to discover that they didn't check the quality of the instrument before shipping it out to me. So here was lie number two: the company doesn't inspect their products for quality before shipping.
I called zZounds back to report the issue, and they offered to either ship me a new instrument or refund my money. I was relieved that they were willing to make things right, but it was too little too late for me. As a customer, I didn't feel valued or appreciated, especially in light of all the problems I had encountered. Ultimately, I chose to get a refund, but it's been three weeks now, and I'm still waiting for my money to come back.
This entire experience has definitely made me think twice about purchasing instruments online in the future. Unless I can find a company with a physical location nearby, I'd rather stick with guitar center or Sam Ash. At least with those options, I know that I'll be able to interact with a live human being and have a better chance of getting quality service.
My Frustrating Experience Ordering Music Gear from zzounds.com
I had placed an order on Friday for some music gear that I desperately needed. I pulled out my trusty credit card and went to work on the order. However, to my surprise, I received an email shortly after notifying me that the order was canceled. I was quite surprised and a little dismayed at the lack of information provided by the email. So, being the persistent person I am, I dialed customer service and inquired about the cancellation. The customer service representative informed me that it was due to a verification issue that required me to match my billing information. I immediately took action again and tried to place the order anew. Unfortunately, the same thing happened again - canceled.
Frustrated, I attempted to use my trusty debit card, hoping that it would solve the issue. But to my absolute dismay, the order was canceled again. This time I called on the phone to get some clarification on the situation. The representative informed me that the email address I was using doesn't match what I have at my bank and hence the verification was not going through. Seriously, I couldn't believe that was happening; is that the norm these days? Feeling left in the dark with this whole verification mess, I tried a different variation of my email address to no avail - still canceled.
Not giving up, I called customer service, and to my surpise, they had an alternative way to verify. They offered to send me a link to verify using my license and a selfie video. I got to work, filled in the necessary details, and then tried the order once more - fingers crossed. But, alas, once again, the order got canceled. Now, I was starting to get impatient and a little frustrated with the back and forth and the constant cancelation of my orders. So I called customer service again and explained my situation.
This time, they told me that if the address on my ID doesn't match my bank, it wouldn't go through. Wait, What? That doesn't even make sense. I had already explained to them that I had recently moved, and the address on my ID doesn't match what I have at my bank. Yet, no one had brought up this issue to start with. So, they advised me to wait and get a new ID first before attempting another order. It seemed like an insurmountable task, so I decided to explore other sites. I mentioned that I'd instead wait for the gear to come back in stock at Sweetwater, and that's when things got tense.
The customer service representative replied abruptly and rudely, then hung up on me without any warning. That solidified it. I was done; I had had enough. It was not worth all the hassle. With the best customer service rating still going to Sweetwater, no wonder it was the better option for me. Overall, I have never had such issues while ordering gear before; I've bought from other industry players like Guitar Center and Musician's Friend, and it's always been a smooth process. I shouldn't have even tried so many times, and I'm certainly never attempting to order from zzounds.com again.
Poor Customer Service and Account Mix-ups with zZounds
I have to say, my experiences with zZounds have been quite disappointing. Every time I call them up, I get terrible customer service. The folks on the phone just don't seem to care one bit about my problems or issues. It's like they're not even listening and that's so frustrating.
One big problem I keep running into is that they keep tying my account to my ex-boyfriend's account. Now, I haven't lived with that dude in years and there's no way he could have my new phone number or address or my new credit card info. But for some reason, zZounds keeps insisting that I owe money on his account and they won't let me place orders because of it. It's such a headache.
Not too long ago, I ordered a keyboard stand from them and paid for it in full right away. The stand arrived and that was it, everything seemed fine. But then, when I tried to place an order for four new pieces of equipment on a payment plan with "no credit check," they cancelled the order on the day it was supposed to be delivered. They told me it was because I'd typed my address wrong and it couldn't be verified. So I went back, double-checked everything, and placed the order again. And guess what? They cancelled it again.
Finally, after all that back and forth, they came clean and told me that my order had been cancelled because I'd used information similar to an account that had a pending balance. But they couldn't tell me anything more about it, because apparently it didn't have my name on it. I figured out that it must have been my ex's old account from when we lived together years ago. But come on, I haven't lived with that dude in four years, there's no way I'm still connected to his account.
Anyway, the zZounds customer service agents don't seem to give a crap about any of this. They don't care that I'm going to miss my gig because I won't have my gear on time, and they don't care that I have nothing to do with my ex's account. It's such a bummer, because I used to really like buying stuff from zZounds. But now, I don't know if I'll ever use them again. Unless I'm paying for everything upfront, or I really don't care about customer service, I can't recommend them.
Reliable, Professional and Efficient: My Experience with zZounds.com
I have had the pleasure of doing business with zZounds.com on five separate occasions, and I must say that I have zero complaints. The representatives at customer service are professional and friendly, and I always feel like I am talking to another artist when I have questions about my gear.
I did, however, encounter one minor issue with an Epiphone guitar that I purchased, which turned out to be a manufacturing error that even the quality control team at Epiphone could have easily missed. The decal around the sound holes was different from that of the renowned Gibson line of guitars, and although most people wouldn't give a care about the difference, I preferred the design of the Epi version. After I called customer service and sent a picture, they agreed that it was different and offered to knock off twenty bucks for the error. But I wasn't satisfied with that, so I opted for a full refund and replacement.
Now, some people might leave negative reviews of zZounds.com because they believe the company is responsible for every mistake in production, quality control, and delivery. However, as someone who has watched YouTube videos of angry delivery drivers and packages being thrown around like hot potatoes, I know that sometimes things are out of a company's control.
But this is where zZounds.com truly excels - they have a great website that allows you to choose from different payment options, including installment plans for up to twelve months. They even trusted me with a four-payment plan on my first order, which really helped me out. And when one of my orders was a couple of days late during the holiday shipping craze, I didn't blame zZounds.com because stuff happens during Christmas!
Overall, I highly recommend zZounds.com to any musician who wants a reliable and easy-to-use website, excellent customer service, and a wide selection of products to choose from. So go ahead and order that new amp or pedal - you won't be disappointed!
Review of Xvive U2 Wireless Guitar System from zZounds: Impressive Customer Service
I went ahead and ordered the Xvive U2 Wireless Guitar System from zZounds to use for my bass. The reason I decided to purchase this particular system is because my worship leader at church also has this same system. The Xvive U2 system has 4 channels, which means that there wouldn't be any interference between his and mine.
When my package arrived the very next day, I was thrilled! Setting up and using the system for the first time was a breeze, especially since I changed channels to avoid any potential interference with the worship leader's system. The following Sunday, however, the system seemed to be producing some static. But I didn't think too much of it since I assumed it was due to my positioning in a different area.
The real trouble started the next Sunday when the system started crackling and popping, eventually leading to a complete loss of sound that evening. I thought it might be an issue with my bass or amp, so I brought everything home to investigate. But when it happened again during a practice session with the piano player on Tuesday, I knew something was up.
So I called zZounds and spoke with a representative to explain the issue. At first, the representative thought it might be caused by an interference between my bass and the wireless system, but after further investigation, he determined that shouldn't be the case. The representative then offered to process a return for me, which would take a few days to complete.
However, I explained that I needed the system for an upcoming Sunday service, and the representative said he could not guarantee its arrival by that date. I was in quite a predicament since I needed the bass to be wireless in order to hand it off to the worship leader, and I also had a laptop and wired in-ear monitors. But I decided to proceed with the return anyway.
I finally received the UPS label on Thursday and dropped it off at UPS. They gave me a tracking number and told me it probably wouldn't arrive until Monday since it wasn't an overnight shipment. This is where zZounds really impressed me.
I called them back and explained my situation: I really needed the system for the upcoming Sunday service. The customer service representative I spoke with said he would check with the returns department to see if they could ship the replacement unit to me sooner. To my surprise, he came back and said they could ship it overnight, and I would receive it the following day (Friday). I was ecstatic!
It's worth noting here that zZounds policy is to wait until the defective item is returned before shipping out a replacement, but they decided to make an exception and go the extra mile for me. I really appreciated their commitment to helping me out of a tough spot, especially since it wasn't their fault that the unit was defective.
All in all, I highly recommend zZounds. They have excellent customer service, and they're willing to go above and beyond to ensure their customers are satisfied. I will definitely be purchasing from them again in the future.
Poor Quality and Terrible Customer Service from zZounds.com - Do Not Recommend
I have had a pretty rough experience with zZounds.com. In the past three months, I have purchased three guitars from them and each one has arrived with various issues. The first guitar I received had three strings that were hanging off and the neck was broken in two places. Additionally, the body cavity on the side of the neck was ground down with a grinder through the paint down to the wood. The nut was also not fully attached and there was a significant gap that could fit a screwdriver in it.
The second guitar I purchased was a PRS and the backplate had three stripped screws on one side and two on the other. Finally, the third guitar I received had a cracked neck from the corner of the front board through the top veneer and solid body.
I was told that zZounds.com would be picking up the third guitar and sending me a replacement, but they did not set up the pick up from my house as promised. They also kept lying to me and telling me that a replacement guitar was on its way, when in reality, UPS had already told me they were not sending a replacement.
To make matters worse, I am currently fighting a serious illness and am not physically able to go to a music store to replace the guitar myself. When I informed zZounds.com of my health situation, a representative responded with a mean voice and said they didn't want to hear about my sickness and only wanted to hear about the guitar. I'm 61 years old and it was truly cruel of them to speak to me in this way.
I am extremely disappointed with this company and would not recommend them to anyone. Save yourself the headache and go to a different music store like Sweetwater or American Musical. The quality of the guitars I received was poor and the customer service was awful. I still have the guitar they sent me and they are withholding my money.
Overall, I am quite upset and am considering taking legal action. It's unacceptable for a company to treat their customers this way.

My Frustrating Experience with Zzounds Music Equipment Retailer
Zzounds is a music equipment retailer that many people have heard about. While I initially thought they were pretty cool, my experience with them has left me feeling extremely frustrated. I was hoping that they would be my one-stop-shop for buying music equipment. Unfortunately, that hasn't been the case.
I've used zzounds before in the past, so I was surprised when they said they don't check credit "ever" but they ended up checking mine. To make matters worse, they sent me two different emails, each one saying something completely different. It was confusing and frustrating.
Additionally, I found that it takes a really long time for them to process your order. When you place your order, it takes a full day to process! And even after that, they don't tell you what your limit is. Apparently, I have a maximum limit of $3000 and $1500, but I had no idea until they told me.
To make matters worse, the customer service agents seem extremely tired or bored. They're not particularly helpful, and when they transferred me to the manager, he was even worse than the customer reps. It was difficult to hear him, and he didn't seem to know what he was talking about. It sounded like he was just saying whatever he could to get me to hang up, even though I was in the right.
Overall, I'm really disappointed with my experience with zzounds. I'm willing to cancel all of my orders that I've financed with them and take my business elsewhere. Customers should be able to rely on retailers to provide clear information and a good customer experience, but unfortunately, that hasn't been the case with zzounds.
zZounds Review: Sneaky Credit Check & Disappointing Customer Service
I find it very sneaky that zZounds didn't mention that they do a hard credit inquiry on their website. At first, I had no problems placing my order and I was even sent a survey about their service. Then, I received my confirmation and was ready to receive my order. However, I became quite curious about something mentioned in the agreement and decided to reach out to customer service. After chatting with them, my order seemed to check out just fine. That is until I received an email about an hour later telling me to contact them right away! I quickly called them and confirmed some details but then received yet another email that my order was canceled, and I was declined! Why didn't they mention anything about a credit check on their website?! I did notice that they asked me to provide my social security number to confirm my identity, but nowhere was it ever mentioned that there would be a credit check. I fell for it. It was too good to be true. It's a cool idea, but their execution was absolutely trash! I'm so disappointed and won't be shopping there anymore. I would NOT recommend zZounds to anyone. Their customer service folks seemed suspicious and/or completely clueless. Save yourself a headache and shop someplace else!
Unsatisfactory Experience: Avoid Doing Business with zZounds
This company has poor communication with customers, and when pointed out, they may cancel your order without any proper explanation. My dealings with them were rather unpleasant. I placed an order worth $1400 on zZounds and the very next day, they told me to call them. So, I did as instructed and the representative confirmed that everything was good from their end, and I can expect updates soon. But surprisingly, two days after that, my entire order was cancelled without any valid reason, right after I sent them an email enquiring about my order status.
Feeling disappointed, I tried ordering from Sweetwater instead. And to my surprise, they approved my purchase within the same day and shipped it as well! In comparison, my experience with zZounds was unsatisfactory, and I had to wait nearly a week to get my order only to have it cancelled without any proper explanation. I have never encountered a company that would cancel an order, much less not respond to my query. It was a complete waste of my time and credit inquiry.
I strongly advise against doing business with this company as they proved to be nothing but shady. Save yourself the stress and avoid them completely. DO NOT BUY from zZounds!

Unprofessional Business: My Terrible Experience with ZZounds
find!
I'm pretty upset with the way ZZounds does business. I'd been ordering from them for a while and recently, I decided to buy myself a brand-new Marshall stack. I placed my order around August 5th. This is actually the second time I'd ordered the same product after I lost the first one.
When I called to report the lost item, ZZounds assured me that they'd overnight my order and I'd get it the next day. However, when it finally arrived, it was already too late. FedEx asked me to wait for another 2 to 3 days before the delivery. This was really frustrating because I missed 2 concerts and lost money in the process because of their unprofessionalism.
Honestly, I wouldn't recommend anyone to buy anything from ZZounds at this point. That's how bad it is. What's even more frustrating is that they don't seem to care about their customers. When I asked about the money I lost from my gigs, one of their supervisors told me that there was nothing they could do to help me out. They weren't going to fix the issue or even try to fix the delivery of the item.
It's really disappointing that ZZounds would treat their customers this way. As for me, I still owe them $600 for a guitar, but I will definitely part ways with them as soon as I can. I'll also be sure to leave bad reviews on every platform I can find.
Zzounds Payment Installments - Beware of Hidden Fees and Poor Customer Service
I've got some beef with Zzounds, I'll tell ya that much. I shelled out some serious cash for a few top-of-the-line gadgets from their website, and let me tell ya, it was a struggle from beginning to end.
The final purchase I made, I decided to go with their payment installments setup. Well, wouldn't ya know it, I ended up missing one payment. And boy oh boy, did they let me know it. They started debiting my checking account every single day until they got their payment.
I tried reasoning with them on the phone – told 'em I'd make two payments next time around if that was possible. But the dude on the other end was nothin' but a real nasty piece of work. He laughed in my face and said he'd keep doin' what he was doin'. I mean, come on, what kinda customer service is that?
And let me tell ya, that daily debiting really added up. The bank fees I ended up shelling out were more than a cool grand. That's right, over a thousand buckaroos. Un-be-lievable.
Eventually, a year went by and the guy who was giving me all the trouble got the boot. They ended up forgiving our whole outstanding debt, but that didn't do much for me and my bank account. I still ended up losin' out big time.
Honestly, these guys over at Zzounds just don't give a hoot. They're all talk and no action. If you want a hassle-free experience, I'd recommend looking elsewhere.
Misleading Stock Status and Delayed Order from zZounds - A Disappointing Experience
So, let me tell you about my experience with zZounds. First off, I have to say that I am feeling a bit miffed at the moment. Why? Well, I placed an order for some gear - a Classic Vibe 70s Telecaster Thinline and a Classic Vibe 60s Jazzmaster. Seemed like everything was going smoothly at first. Both items were listed as in stock on the website, and even though the Jazzmaster was delayed a bit, I was thrilled to see that everything else had shipped out the same day I placed my order. However, this morning, on the day of my first shipment, I received an email informing me that the Jazzmaster was now back ordered. What gives?
Okay, I get that things happen and items can go out of stock. What I don't get is why it was listed as in stock on the site, why it was scheduled to be delivered in a few days, and even why it was labelled as preparing for shipment. And now, there's no word on when it will be back in stock.
Now, I have attached some pictures to this review, and I will be the first to admit that the date in the photos says the 6th. That's because I was delayed in going through their identity verification process. But still, I was given assurances that the gear I ordered was in stock and would be delivered soon. And now I am feeling disappointed and let down.
I remain hopeful that the rest of my order will arrive in good condition and without any further issues. But for now, I am left with a bad taste in my mouth, and the unfortunate impression that zZounds might not be as reliable as I had hoped.
Disappointed in zZounds - Bad Business Practices & Broken Promises
I was recently super hyped to grab a line 6 spider V from zZounds. I really needed a combo amp for my practice sessions and studio work. But when the amp finally arrived, it just wasn't working at all. The only thing that was functioning properly was the tuner. That's when I decided to shoot them a message about exchanging it for something else. I wasn't looking for an expensive replacement, you know, just something fair for the time and money I’ve lost because of it. But imagine my disappointment when they said they would make it right, only to tell me later that I had to pay the difference. Now, I'm not sure why they would even think I was asking for a $500 difference in product! I just wanted to swap my cheap combo amp for another cheap combo amp, y'know? That's it.
But nope. They didn't make it right. They didn't even send me an email explaining why they refused to exchange the item. All I got was an email saying I'll be refunded - and that's it. That's just bad business, man. I've lost my trust in zZounds, and I'll be going to Sweetwater from now on. Plus, I'll be making sure to tell every musician I know about my experience and to stay away from zZounds. It's just not okay to promise customers that you'll make it right, only to treat them like they don't matter after messing up. It's not how the world works and it's definitely not how a business should be run, ya feel me?
Zzounds: A Nightmare to Deal With - Avoid At All Costs!
Let me tell you about my experience with Zzounds. To put it simply, they've let me down not once, but twice. When I purchased a product from them, I never expected to face such challenges just to receive what I paid for.
Their customer service is absolutely dreadful. They don't seem to care about customers who are unhappy with their purchases. Unlike Sweetwaters 55 point inspection plan, where they inspect their products thoroughly, Zzounds just sends the product to you without any checking. This means that you don't know what you're getting. If the product doesn't work, Zzounds treats you like garbage, and acts like you're a criminal. It's as if they don't care that you spent your hard earned money with them, and now you're stuck with something that doesn't even work.
Recently, I decided to treat myself to a $1800 guitar as a Christmas present. However, when it arrived, it was completely unplayable. It was a devastating disappointment. When I reached out to Zzounds' returns department, I was informed that they don't accept phone calls or make phone calls. Their lack of communication made dealing with them a total pain in the neck. They only offered me a small $120 credit, which was no where near enough to cover the cost of repairs. Taking it to multiple repair centers, I was informed that the guitar needed a new neck, which Zzounds refused to cover.
As if that isn't enough, Zzounds still expects me to make six more payments or they'll report me. It's an absolute nightmare. It would be nice if they would contact Fender, because Fender's warranty is pointless, and only dealers and repair centers are allowed to communicate with them. It's as if Zzounds is looking for any excuse not to help. They're saying one thing, yet their actions scream another.
Zzounds.com might as well be the scum of the earth. They're completely ruthless, and unable to accept responsibility for their own mistakes. They have no clue what good customer service looks like. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Save yourself the headache and shop elsewhere.
Zzounds canceled my order due to someone else's debt!
Recently, I decided to take advantage of the financing option offered by Zzounds to purchase some much-needed equipment. Excitedly, I placed my order and patiently waited for my confirmation email. To my disappointment, I received a message just 10 minutes later stating that my order had been canceled due to a previous outstanding balance on an account associated with my last name.
In disbelief, I called the customer service line to get to the bottom of the issue. To my surprise, the representative informed me that a family member had defaulted on their account, and as a result, I was unable to make a purchase until the balance was satisfied.
Now, let me make it clear - the card, billing information, social, and name on the defaulted account had no link to me. I explained this to the representative multiple times, but they were adamant that I was still unable to make a purchase until the account was settled.
Frustrated, I asked to speak with a manager. To my disappointment, the manager had the same response, even though they agreed that there was no clear connection between me and the defaulted account. When I asked for any legal identification information that linked me and the defaulted account, they replied that it was just based on the name and phone number.
I couldn't believe that something as simple as a shared last name could hold me accountable for someone else's debt. When I expressed my frustration and explained that this was not my issue or debt to pay, I was told that this was just the company's practice to protect themselves.
Overall, I was extremely disappointed with the customer service and handling of this situation. It's understandable for a company to protect themselves from fraud, but it's completely unacceptable to hold a customer accountable for someone else's debt without any confirmed link or responsibility. Until this issue is resolved, I will not be recommending Zzounds to anyone and will be looking for a different financing option for my equipment needs.
Disappointing customer service experience with zZounds - will not shop again
I had a bit of an issue with zZounds when I was trying to pay off a debt that had gone into collections. At first, the customer service rep I spoke to told me that I could set up a payment plan, which was a great relief. However, when I checked my bank account later, I saw that the collections agency had taken out the entire amount all at once. This was really frustrating, so I called collections again to see if there was anything they could do. The agent I spoke to was really unhelpful and talked down to me, saying that they were authorized to take the full amount once they had my card number. It was really disappointing that the first associate had given me the wrong information, and I felt like the second agent didn't care at all about helping me resolve the issue.
I'm still really upset about how the situation was handled, even though I was ultimately able to pay off my debt. I've purchased several keyboards and a Hohner from zZounds in the past and was even planning to buy an Alesis Nitro, but I won't be shopping with them again after this experience. It's really important to me that companies treat their customers with respect and consistency across all departments, and zZounds failed to deliver on that. I would encourage others to look elsewhere for their musical equipment needs to avoid the hassle I went through. Hopefully, zZounds will take steps to make sure their staff is on the same page and providing the best service possible to their customers.
