My Frustrating Experience with Zzounds Music Equipment Retailer
Zzounds is a music equipment retailer that many people have heard about. While I initially thought they were pretty cool, my experience with them has left me feeling extremely frustrated. I was hoping that they would be my one-stop-shop for buying music equipment. Unfortunately, that hasn't been the case.
I've used zzounds before in the past, so I was surprised when they said they don't check credit "ever" but they ended up checking mine. To make matters worse, they sent me two different emails, each one saying something completely different. It was confusing and frustrating.
Additionally, I found that it takes a really long time for them to process your order. When you place your order, it takes a full day to process! And even after that, they don't tell you what your limit is. Apparently, I have a maximum limit of $3000 and $1500, but I had no idea until they told me.
To make matters worse, the customer service agents seem extremely tired or bored. They're not particularly helpful, and when they transferred me to the manager, he was even worse than the customer reps. It was difficult to hear him, and he didn't seem to know what he was talking about. It sounded like he was just saying whatever he could to get me to hang up, even though I was in the right.
Overall, I'm really disappointed with my experience with zzounds. I'm willing to cancel all of my orders that I've financed with them and take my business elsewhere. Customers should be able to rely on retailers to provide clear information and a good customer experience, but unfortunately, that hasn't been the case with zzounds.
zZounds Review: Sneaky Credit Check & Disappointing Customer Service
I find it very sneaky that zZounds didn't mention that they do a hard credit inquiry on their website. At first, I had no problems placing my order and I was even sent a survey about their service. Then, I received my confirmation and was ready to receive my order. However, I became quite curious about something mentioned in the agreement and decided to reach out to customer service. After chatting with them, my order seemed to check out just fine. That is until I received an email about an hour later telling me to contact them right away! I quickly called them and confirmed some details but then received yet another email that my order was canceled, and I was declined! Why didn't they mention anything about a credit check on their website?! I did notice that they asked me to provide my social security number to confirm my identity, but nowhere was it ever mentioned that there would be a credit check. I fell for it. It was too good to be true. It's a cool idea, but their execution was absolutely trash! I'm so disappointed and won't be shopping there anymore. I would NOT recommend zZounds to anyone. Their customer service folks seemed suspicious and/or completely clueless. Save yourself a headache and shop someplace else!

This company has poor communication with customers, and when pointed out, they may cancel your order without any proper explanation. My dealings with them were rather unpleasant. I placed an order worth $1400 on zZounds and the very next day, they told me to call them. But surprisingly, two days after that, my entire order was cancelled without any valid reason, right after I sent them an email enquiring about my order status.
Feeling disappointed, I tried ordering from Sweetwater instead. And to my surprise, they approved my purchase within the same day and shipped it as well! In comparison, my experience with zZounds was unsatisfactory, and I had to wait nearly a week to get my order only to have it cancelled without any proper explanation. I have never encountered a company that would cancel an order, much less not respond to my query. It was a complete waste of my time and credit inquiry.
I strongly advise against doing business with this company as they proved to be nothing but shady. Save yourself the stress and avoid them completely. DO NOT BUY from zZounds!

I'm pretty upset with the way ZZounds does business. I'd been ordering from them for a while and recently, I decided to buy myself a brand-new Marshall stack. I placed my order around August 5th. This is actually the second time I'd ordered the same product after I lost the first one.
When I called to report the lost item, ZZounds assured me that they'd overnight my order and I'd get it the next day. However, when it finally arrived, it was already too late. FedEx asked me to wait for another 2 to 3 days before the delivery. This was really frustrating because I missed 2 concerts and lost money in the process because of their unprofessionalism.
Honestly, I wouldn't recommend anyone to buy anything from ZZounds at this point. That's how bad it is. What's even more frustrating is that they don't seem to care about their customers. When I asked about the money I lost from my gigs, one of their supervisors told me that there was nothing they could do to help me out. They weren't going to fix the issue or even try to fix the delivery of the item.
It's really disappointing that ZZounds would treat their customers this way. As for me, I still owe them $600 for a guitar, but I will definitely part ways with them as soon as I can. I'll also be sure to leave bad reviews on every platform I can find.

I've got some beef with Zzounds, I'll tell ya that much. I shelled out some serious cash for a few top-of-the-line gadgets from their website, and let me tell ya, it was a struggle from beginning to end.
The final purchase I made, I decided to go with their payment installments setup. Well, wouldn't ya know it, I ended up missing one payment. And boy oh boy, did they let me know it. They started debiting my checking account every single day until they got their payment.
I tried reasoning with them on the phone – told 'em I'd make two payments next time around if that was possible. But the dude on the other end was nothin' but a real nasty piece of work. Well, I placed an order for some gear - a Classic Vibe 70s Telecaster Thinline and a Classic Vibe 60s Jazzmaster. Seemed like everything was going smoothly at first. Both items were listed as in stock on the website, and even though the Jazzmaster was delayed a bit, I was thrilled to see that everything else had shipped out the same day I placed my order. However, this morning, on the day of my first shipment, I received an email informing me that the Jazzmaster was now back ordered. What gives?
Okay, I get that things happen and items can go out of stock. What I don't get is why it was listed as in stock on the site, why it was scheduled to be delivered in a few days, and even why it was labelled as preparing for shipment. And now, there's no word on when it will be back in stock.
Now, I have attached some pictures to this review, and I will be the first to admit that the date in the photos says the 6th. That's because I was delayed in going through their identity verification process. But still, I was given assurances that the gear I ordered was in stock and would be delivered soon. And now I am feeling disappointed and let down.
I remain hopeful that the rest of my order will arrive in good condition and without any further issues. But for now, I am left with a bad taste in my mouth, and the unfortunate impression that zZounds might not be as reliable as I had hoped.
Disappointed in zZounds - Bad Business Practices & Broken Promises
I was recently super hyped to grab a line 6 spider V from zZounds. I really needed a combo amp for my practice sessions and studio work. But when the amp finally arrived, it just wasn't working at all. The only thing that was functioning properly was the tuner. That's when I decided to shoot them a message about exchanging it for something else. I wasn't looking for an expensive replacement, you know, just something fair for the time and money I’ve lost because of it. But imagine my disappointment when they said they would make it right, only to tell me later that I had to pay the difference. Now, I'm not sure why they would even think I was asking for a $500 difference in product! I just wanted to swap my cheap combo amp for another cheap combo amp, y'know? That's it.
But nope. They didn't make it right. They didn't even send me an email explaining why they refused to exchange the item. All I got was an email saying I'll be refunded - and that's it. That's just bad business, man. I've lost my trust in zZounds, and I'll be going to Sweetwater from now on. Plus, I'll be making sure to tell every musician I know about my experience and to stay away from zZounds. It's just not okay to promise customers that you'll make it right, only to treat them like they don't matter after messing up. It's not how the world works and it's definitely not how a business should be run, ya feel me?
Zzounds: A Nightmare to Deal With - Avoid At All Costs!
Let me tell you about my experience with Zzounds. To put it simply, they've let me down not once, but twice. When I purchased a product from them, I never expected to face such challenges just to receive what I paid for.
Their customer service is absolutely dreadful. They don't seem to care about customers who are unhappy with their purchases. Unlike Sweetwaters 55 point inspection plan, where they inspect their products thoroughly, Zzounds just sends the product to you without any checking. This means that you don't know what you're getting. If the product doesn't work, Zzounds treats you like garbage, and acts like you're a criminal. It's as if they don't care that you spent your hard earned money with them, and now you're stuck with something that doesn't even work.
Recently, I decided to treat myself to a $1800 guitar as a Christmas present. However, when it arrived, it was completely unplayable. It was a devastating disappointment. When I reached out to Zzounds' returns department, I was informed that they don't accept phone calls or make phone calls. Their lack of communication made dealing with them a total pain in the neck. They only offered me a small $120 credit, which was no where near enough to cover the cost of repairs. Taking it to multiple repair centers, I was informed that the guitar needed a new neck, which Zzounds refused to cover.
As if that isn't enough, Zzounds still expects me to make six more payments or they'll report me. It's an absolute nightmare. It would be nice if they would contact Fender, because Fender's warranty is pointless, and only dealers and repair centers are allowed to communicate with them. It's as if Zzounds is looking for any excuse not to help. They're saying one thing, yet their actions scream another.
Zzounds.com might as well be the scum of the earth. They're completely ruthless, and unable to accept responsibility for their own mistakes. They have no clue what good customer service looks like. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Save yourself the headache and shop elsewhere.
Zzounds canceled my order due to someone else's debt!
Recently, I decided to take advantage of the financing option offered by Zzounds to purchase some much-needed equipment. Excitedly, I placed my order and patiently waited for my confirmation email. To my disappointment, I received a message just 10 minutes later stating that my order had been canceled due to a previous outstanding balance on an account associated with my last name.
In disbelief, I called the customer service line to get to the bottom of the issue. To my surprise, the representative informed me that a family member had defaulted on their account, and as a result, I was unable to make a purchase until the balance was satisfied.
Now, let me make it clear - the card, billing information, social, and name on the defaulted account had no link to me. I explained this to the representative multiple times, but they were adamant that I was still unable to make a purchase until the account was settled.
Frustrated, I asked to speak with a manager. To my disappointment, the manager had the same response, even though they agreed that there was no clear connection between me and the defaulted account. When I asked for any legal identification information that linked me and the defaulted account, they replied that it was just based on the name and phone number.
I couldn't believe that something as simple as a shared last name could hold me accountable for someone else's debt. When I expressed my frustration and explained that this was not my issue or debt to pay, I was told that this was just the company's practice to protect themselves.
Overall, I was extremely disappointed with the customer service and handling of this situation. It's understandable for a company to protect themselves from fraud, but it's completely unacceptable to hold a customer accountable for someone else's debt without any confirmed link or responsibility. Until this issue is resolved, I will not be recommending Zzounds to anyone and will be looking for a different financing option for my equipment needs.
Disappointing customer service experience with zZounds - will not shop again
I had a bit of an issue with zZounds when I was trying to pay off a debt that had gone into collections. At first, the customer service rep I spoke to told me that I could set up a payment plan, which was a great relief. However, when I checked my bank account later, I saw that the collections agency had taken out the entire amount all at once. This was really frustrating, so I called collections again to see if there was anything they could do. The agent I spoke to was really unhelpful and talked down to me, saying that they were authorized to take the full amount once they had my card number. It was really disappointing that the first associate had given me the wrong information, and I felt like the second agent didn't care at all about helping me resolve the issue.
