I am hoping that this is the right place to send my complaint. I had bought a 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT in May of 2008. I had ordered it in Feb.2008. I had bought this van for my wife as a family vehicle. Well, I gotta tell you it was the biggest mistake I have made. I own 3 other dodge products and have not had problems like I did with this van.
Ok, it all started in June 2008. We have had to have the van into the shop so many times. We have had to have the following fixed (please keep in mind that this van was built and shipped to us) seat cushion about 4 times, the muffler, gear shift, radio system twice, windows and then when the van was in the shop for the windows they had put a dent in the van, the air conditioning, back bumper. So needless to say ALOT of things have had to be repaired.
We had gone to Tribunal before some of the big items went, and we lost. We are not happy with this. We understand that the problems were covered under warranty but back when a few things started going on the van we had asked if we could do a trade in for something around the same price and we were told no. So we have tried to work with Portage Dodge Chrysler and have gotten no were.
Our thing is, if all these items are going before the van was a yr old what will happen when the warranty is done? We will be still paying on it and then paying for fixing it as well.
Recently we had to do something critical because we had had enough of the BS with the van and getting no wee with Dodge, so we stopped paying on it and had it taken. That was how desperate we were to get rid of the van. But the problem we have now is that we are out thousands of dollars and my credit is screwed and the Royal bank is outta money. Why can Dodge not suffer and pay for this? We will NEVER buy another Dodge product again.
Iam Military and try to do right. So having to this recent activity was the hardest thing I had to do. I have a wife and 5 children and I had to think about their well being first. So spending this kinda money on a lemon was not gonna happen anymore. But like I said now my credit is screwed all because of Dodge Chrysler.
So any advice would be greatful.
Thank you for reading this message and PLEASE help.

OMG ...I finally found this site! I'm a single parent with 4 children and this has been the most painful purchase I've ever made in my life. I purchase this vehicle BRAND NEW after owning another Dodge. Much to my surprise it has had over 14 recalls like starter, brakes, transmission, keys, electric doors, radiator UFF!..and the list goes on. I stuck to it because I figured being a women no one would listed to my complaints and also I could not afford to take more time than I was already had to from my 8-5 job with out pay when EVERY PENNY counts (at least for me). I'm left with a BITTER "LEMON" experience, an empty $$ pocket and a hard lesson learned... I can only say I would never purchase a dodge again. :/ ...MY ONLY HOPE IS TO CONTRIBUTE WITH MY EXPERIENCE TO ALERT OTHERS FROM MAKING THE SAME MISTAKES.
I have a 2007 SXT, transmission went out at 30, 000 now it is burning oil like crazy. Seems like about 2 quarts in every 1000 miles. Tail pipe is black with soot. Any ideas what the problem is?
Thanks
I too have had nothing but problems with my 2008 Caravan. ALL THE SAME PROBLEMS and nothing but the run around and the blame game on the consumer. My problems started with breaks and rotors replacement within the first few months. The van would, and still does, suddenly stall for no reason. Key FOB chooses when and where it wants to work. I have had to replace both keys two times. The last time the cost was $700.00. was supposed to be a key problem but I noticed my dash had been taken apart. I was told by the dealership that I could not change the breaks myself but that only they could do it because of a specific type of tool was used. I found out later that the tool could be borrowed from Auto Zone. The tool is only needed on the back breaks so it is obvious to me that this is a ploy to make the customer have no choice but to take their vehicle to the dealership. I agree wholeheartedly with the guy who feels that driving through the showroom window. Big corporations never seem to worry about right or wrong when it comes to the almighty dollar. This is why it is becoming harder and harder to be a proud American. Big business should be kicked out of this country. They don't pay taxes anyway.
The key fobs seems to need to be reset by using the hidden key in the bottom of the fob to open the van doors. This seems to rest the fob. Not sure why they designed it this way but it may eliminate replacing it.
To the ### earlier : Dodge's lifetime powertrain warranty 06-08 is for the ORIGINAL OWNER ONLY. You're welcome.
Bought our 08 last year(14) have had to replace oilpan gasket, head gaskets, waterpump, the radio went out and just pops now.driverside window shorts out, Transmission shifts different everytime. Slips when you are turning. I am tired of this piece of crap!
Portage Dodge Chrysler always been bad about customer services. I bought a Chevy Malibu. They promise that if I had any problems, to bring it in. Within a week after I tool the car home, there was an oil leak. I took back and they had me wait for an hour. One of the owner came out and started to say that they can't do anything. I explain that I just bought the Chevy a week about. They had me wait another hour. They would smile and walk arund me. I grew angry and demanded to talk to the managers. He came back and said that they will not do anything, it was my responsibility. They would not take it back and this ended up costing me over $300 to replace the gasket. This was when I learn that Portage Dodge Chrysler does this all the time. They simply lie. I know this is not new to people. but I kinda of trusted them, now I don'
I vowed I would never buy any minivan due to horrible crash test ratings and their handling but after much research we changed our minds. Overall we have been very, very happy with our 2009 3.3L Grand Caravan purchased in 2010 with less than 20, 000km on it. Yes we have had to replace brake pads and calipers and normal wear and tear items such as tires and wipers but overall it has done us well all these years. With over 141, 000km on it now the biggest issue we've had is with the connectors at the heater core failing and dumping almost all the coolant from the engine very quickly in late 2017. If this happens to you, don't drive it and have it towed instead. We were told to replace BOTH connectors at the same time or you may face a second failure shortly afterwards. That was about a $400 repair for both. We've heard that some people fail to stop driving right away and very quickly damage their engine due to the aluminum piston heads often now used in any later model vehicles. If you do that you could face a engine replacement that will cost you thousands instead. Be smart like us and don't drive without coolant! The biggest repair items would have to be replacing one of the sliding door wiring harnesses once along with one side power window motor repair. We have had not had issues with any tranny components or any real electrical issues and despite some repairs we have been very, very happy with it. We're actually very disappointed they are discontinuing the Grand Caravan. In fact we like it so much we'd buy another one again in few years. I guess we still have the option of staying with Dodge for a similar style vehicle but we don't want too many bells and whistles such as power sliding doors etc. The more electrical gizmos you get on any kind of vehicle the more you line yourself up for issues and large repair bills later.
