After a number of years of occasional purchases from Ace Industrial Supply-Ace Tools Inc. telemarketers we began to receive rude, aggressive foul mouthed sales calls when screened by my wife.

In 07 I retired telling each salesman as they called to take me off their list. I tried unsuccessfully to reach customer service but you can't get through to any one.

I received a call late evening in July 09 saying I was 1 of 50 honored customers selected to receive a free milwaukee 7 1/4" worm drive saw. I expressed thanks but said I really didn't need it since I was no longer in business. After refusing my request I was told they would send a variety of saw blades I did not want or need but when they arrived if i didn't want them to just send them back but no matter what the saw was mine to keep. He gave me the good ol' boy "I'll even toss in a few playboy calendars and face shield." I finished with "I don't need the blades. If they come I'll send them back."
Two weeks later I received a delivery failure notice from UPS. After years of orders going to my shipping address they sent it to my P.O. box. Never wanting the order to begin with I told UPS to send it back. I got a call that night from "Randy, hey how ya doin' we need to get your package to you."
I insisted I didn't want it, just let it go back. He insisted it was mine anyway, and I could pay for the blades later. I told him I was financially strapped, retired, and couldn't use them. I still hadn't seen or heard the invoice price. He verified my shipping address insisted they were mine to keep or send back but they would be delivered. I insisted I would send them (the blades)back. He left his # and said any problems to let him know.

Upon arrival the invoice listed each item with a 0 unit/extended price, then showed a package price of $498.00.I sent the blades back immediately due to their stated policy of returning merchandise within 30 days of delivery. It cost me $18.00

Two weeks later while out of town attending a funeral, our phone began to ring 8-12 times per day from a "private caller"When it was answered by the house sitter he was harassed, and verbally abused without the caller identifying themselves or their company, only that it was a matter of a past due account.

Upon returning I found 2 past due invoices in the mail. I got on the phone and called the company trying various numbers till I got through to Customer Service. I was livid at this point after driving 18 hrs. from a funeral of one more ol' Marine gone. The rep "Doug" was pretty patient with this ol jar heads rantings about misleading sales practices, deceit, continued calls after insisting to be dropped from the customer list, rude sales calls, etc. Yet only after revealing my terminal health condition and succumbing to a PTSD rage did he agree to sned UPS to pick up the unwanted saw with them paying the shipping, and removing me from their customer base.

Fifteen minutes later I received a call from "Randy" explaining to me with a firm insistence that I had been sold a package deal. I continued to remind him at full enraged volume that I had never wanted any of it and it was all going back. He insisted that I was still libal for the charges because I had accepted delivery and said "Go ahead and send it." He left off the "I'll just send it back."

I've tried unsuccessfully all morning to get through to anyone at Ace Industrial Supply, but did receive a call from"John" in shipping wanting to confirm my shipping address so he could send the blades back. I made it clear that I had a saw, etc. to ship back to them and if UPS didn't arrive today I would be delivering the package personally to their offices. He said he would cancel the shipment and apologized for his companies treatment of an "honored customer". Assuring me that I could get customer service to help.

Just got a call from someone claiming to be the son of the owner "Richard" who claims I talked to his father about ordering sawz all blades and a bunch of other stuff and they wanted to send it out. I tried to explain that I had no recolection of this but was anxious to talk to his father to straighten out my problem with this order and their ### attitude. He called me a liar and hung up on me. From all the other postings these guys will continue till I personally deliver the package. What do I have to loose?

I have posted this grievance on every website possible, the Ca. attorney generals office, BBB, company president Tim Stearns, vice president Richard Benton, and customer service director Greg Anderson. They will know Marine Corp Creed.

My business has been harrassed for the last 2 years by these idiots. We have formally ordered them to cease and desist;however, they wont. This company has called us so many times they have assured that we will NEVER buy anything from them. They are the most unprofessional company I have ever experienced.

Good Lord...most companies these days have caller ID and secretaries who screen calls. All you gotta do is just not answer the phone if you see it is Ace Industrial calling, or just turn on your voice mail/answering machine to retrieve the call because we aren't going to leave messages. Tell your secretary to hang up on us. I mean really, how many calls do you actually get from us in a week's time...three or four ? Is that the worst thing that has EVER happened to you?

If you have a company and are listed in the phone book, you're going to get telemarketing calls. Not just from us, but from every other telemarketing company out there. As for a "Do Not Call" list for any business number out there, there isn't one. It only applies to residential numbers.

For those being continually called that have retired, closed shop, sold the business, whatever, I do apologize for that. Trust me, when I call I don't want you to waste my time as much as you don't want us wasting your time. Time is money to us. When we reach FORMER business owners or retired business owners, that is a complete waste of our time.

With that being said, we have to eat too and so do our families ! Would you rather that we were selling drugs, committing prostitution, stealing cars or burglarizing homes to feed our families and pay our bills ? Of course not!

As for getting a "real job, " I couldn't. I was arrested back in Nov. 2008 for a misdemeanor, and the charges dismissed, but that doesn't stop companies I have applied to from actually using that against me. I applied to 40 companies in the span of 3 months...and turned down for every job I applied to. I applied to be a census taker in February of 2010, and the government turned me down because of my arrest.

This is our own government who is sooooooo anti-discriminatory, but yet turning me away to work for them because of an arrest for a misdemeanor, with the charges being charges dismissed, back in Nov. 2008. Freaking hypocrites!

As for most of the companies that get calls from Ace Industrial... I bet if I went and applied right now to you (if you are a business owner) you would do the same thing...you would do a criminal background check on me, find my misdemeanor arrest from Nov. 2008 and completely dismiss hiring me ( By the way, it was not for theft. That is all I will say because it's none of your business) .

Ace Industrial is the only company out there that would hire me...so there you go. I have to eat too and have a roof over my head just like you. So when you get calls from me, please think about what I have just said here.

Thank you

Marine Corporal Creed, not sure what that was all about with what you state happened to you...but I can assure you that I do not do that. I have not seen other reps do that and we have never been told to do that by our manager with Ace Industrial/Ace Tools.

Personally, I would never do that to anyone while employed with Ace Industrial/Ace Tools. And if I were told my them to ever do that, I would quit working for them in a heartbeat.

If this truly happened to you, and I am not calling you a liar sir, then it was a very dishonest representative, not the actual company. This particular representative obviously would do anything to keep his job/earn a paycheck and pushed a "phony" sale on you.

Sorry about your experience. I am certain no one in the office where I work is doing that to customers.

Thank you.

I received a call last night with a guy trying to get me to take a "free" saw, grinder, etc. and pay for blades, wheels, whatever. I told them no, I had all that and did not need anything. The guy persisted and I told him good night, before I hung up he said "I send you a cutoff saw". I hung up. Today I got a call from "Al" to verify my address for the saw they were sending. I told them I did not order or want a saw. He said it was too late, it had already shipped, but he could "redirect it" if I wanted something else. This of course makes no sense. He insisted I'd okay-ed the order, I insisted I had not and finally hung up. He called back 4 times, I answered 3 times, once told him I was busy up on a ladder and he said he didn't care, I had to take it and pay for it or they'd just charge my card...I've never done business with them and not sure how they'd have my card and told him that, he said they'd invoice it and ruin my credit if I did not pay. I laughed at him and told him good luck, my credit is too good for a nut case like him to mess it up...I hung up. He called again and I let it go to voice mail. I got a threatening message that they would harass me day and night, ruin my credit, call my neighbors and tell them what a deadbeat I am. I live way out in the country, no neighbors for miles, and the people I know would never believe a jerk like this anyway. I'm not scared, just P Oed. After listening to that message I called the Attorney General's office of Consumer Complaints. I told him the whole story and the message. I told him if anything showed up I'd refuse it and he said if they did anything to call them back and they'd get involved.

I've never heard of anything like this, how can they operate like this? I have to assume it is the same outfit, I've been given n0 number, calls come in as "Restricted" (I answer because I get calls from law enforcement occasionally and that's what they show), the guy just says "Al with Ace". You'd think the state would shut them down, or no one would ever buy anything. I got hung by another deal years ago, that ticked me off and I pushed back hard...several went to Federal Prison. Sounds like Al and his buddies need a little vacation in the gray bar hotel.

I received a call and the guy wouldn't state who he was, only asking for my boss. When I told him she was in a meeting he asked when he could call back. I told him probably tomorrow because it was an IMPORTANT meeting and it was most likely going to last most of the day. He then stated he didn't believe me. I asked to take his name and number and he said no. I then said the caller ID showed him as being with Ace Industrial Supply and he said "he couldn't confirm that." (whatever!) I then asked again if I could take a message and he kept saying he didn't believe what I was saying. So I told him again I could just recommend he call back tomorrow or give me his name and number and my boss would call back. He then hung up on me. I then ran the number through reverse phone number check and sure as hell it was ACE INDUSTRIAL SUPPLY! As for the person who is a telemarketer, I was one a long time ago and let me tell you.. there's telemarketing and then there's telemarketing. You can still do your job and not be rude, harrassing, etc. I applaud our Marine for giving people like you "hell" when you call. I understand you have to feed your family but you get more sugar with sweet than you do with salt. As for the other telemarketer for Ace Industrial Supply who says "they don't do that" - well obviously enough of you have been doing it (and for quite some time) to garner this many complaints and one of your guys did it to me this morning - so don't sit there and say you don't do it because you do When you call you represent a company and that is what the receiver of the call thinks of you as and perceives you as. The day you sign your name to the "Now Hired" sheet you represent that company just as when our Marine signed his name to the line to represent our country. I am sorry to our Marine for having to endure that harassment and I hope someone puts these crooks out of business. - Kristin (PS - I typed my name not just a THANK YOU!)

It is sad to think that a company can harass people like this and get away with it.

My husband and I own a body shop. We do not wish to do business with this company and have told them again and again...AND AGAIN! Nothing works...we just put them on hold and let them sit there.
Today's call was very interesting though. I received a call...I saw as I picked up that the caller ID said Ace Industrial Inc...so he says "Can I speak to the owner or shop manager"...I said "May I ask who's calling" ...and he tells me "Anthony from Goodyear".
Now ...if I had not been paying attention...I could have interupted my husband who was speaking with a CUSTOMER...(because we do business with Goodyear) but instead I put him on hold as all the other times before.
Could someone please explain to me how a company can get away with stating they are actually another reputable company ...you would think that this is somehow illegal.
I tried calling the phone number back and of course it just rang and rang...no answer.
I wonder how Goodyear would feel about Ace Industrial Inc using their name in this manner. I do believe it might be worth further investigation.
And yes...we are a business...we are listed in the phone book...and yes telemarketers do have the right to contact those numbers...but do they have a right to be snotty, verbally abusive (especially to females), and continuously harass business staff and owners...and mis-represent themselves by saying they are another company. There has to be a way to stop companies like Ace Industrial Inc.

Listen...do the math people. Find every complaint about ACE and add them up, and I mean EVERY complaint. How many do you get? 30...40...maybe even 100 or 1000. Let's compare that to the amount of calls our company does in a single day, and I know my ear is always to that phone. Now let's imagine there are 2 bad employees that stress customers out and will verbally abuse them to get what they want...your money. Now let's say this employee works at Ace for a period of 2 weeks before we catch on to his arrogance. Think about how much damage and misrepresentation 2 bad apples can make in that short amount of time. The bottom line is, this post has been up for a few years now and there's only 3 people complaining here? One bad call a year sounds like great service to me! :)

As for the original post though, you treated us exactly the right way! Don't take ### from any ### telemarketer! But keep in mind that if you own a business people will want your business and as crazy as this sounds they will call you for it, I'm sure if you run a successful business you don't just look down and say "oh darn okay sorry bye" when your customers say no the first time. Persistence is they key! But I do believe both sides need to be a little nicer!

I had a bad experience with Ace junk. One of their trouble lights caught a customer's car on fire. I told them stop calling. No good. I got abusive and invented 4-letter words. No good. I got on their 'don't call list'. They still called. One day, a friend watched the shop while I was out. He ordered a big order, knowing the trouble I was having. Some joke. The order came while I was again out. My man paid with a pre-signed check. When I got back and saw what happened, I stopped-pay it. How did an order go through when I'm on the 'don't call list'?
That's not the end.
If you are tired of the constant calls- ORDER a big, big order. Stop the check after the junk tools arrive. Then, you make them PAY UPS or FedEx to return the junk.
BEWARE!: Ace went into my checking account after the stop-pay with a draft, trying to get their money. Luckily, the idiots used the exact same amount and same check number. The stop-pay still worked, plus there wasn't enough in the account, had it not. The draft says something like-"signature not necessary. Check authorized by account holder". ILLEGAL! Just goes to show you that ace will not stop trying to get your money, even using CRIMINAL ACTIVITY!.
I don't leave money in that account. That's my special account for internet and over the phone purchases. I put just enough to cover what I need to. I keep my real $17, 500, 000, 000.00 in a different bank, different checking account.
Seriously, if enough people make ace ship hundreds or thousands of 'tool' packages all over the country, and then have to pay to get them back, maybe they'll honor their own "don't call list".
IT'S THE ONLY WAY TO RID YOURSELF (MYSELF) OF THE HARRASSMENT FROM ACE INDUSTRIAL. Nothing else works. This has been since 2009; still going. Ther are persistent. They are relentless. Like Michael Beihn said of the Terminator- ""they absolutely will not stop until they have your money!" (or something close to that).

here is my problem with ace industrial...i own a small shop so not only being the owner i work in tha back as well...iv'e been in business for over nine years and have been recieving calls from them almost the entire time...i told them from the first call, the same as i did today "I DON'T BUY ANYTHING OVER THE PHONE SO PLEASE PUT MY NUMBER ON YOUR DO NOT CALL LIST" as for only certain callers being rude, they have all pretty much been the same and cannot take no for an answer...everytime i have to stop and answer one of the useless calls it costs me money...and as for the caller id bit that was mentioned above, the call i got this morning was listed as BBRN BBRN on the caller id so how would i know that it's ace industrial until i answer it ?i know there is no do not call list, but if you have never done business with a company and request to be put on a do not call list the company is supposed to do it...the man this morning told me he was a customer service rep and was not in the department that would add my number to the list, so i informed him all futer calls will be recorded and if they do not stop i will seek further action...you would think 9 years would be enough time for them to get the picture...he said they were persistant, i said i had another word for it but i will keep it to myself...

I can't get one of the female employees (jamie cruz) to stop calling my husbands cell phone, sending pornagraphic text and emails, granted its his fault also, but she is always the one making the initial contact. She has even sent him adult sex toys?! What's up with that? Is anyone else having problems such as this? Driving me crazy!

This compony is pathetic ! Can not believe they are still in business. I get a call on my business cell phone on a Sunday night from a blocked number, the caller leves a voice message telling me that I need to return his call to clear up a late invoice! He only leves his number( which is [protected]) So I call this guy back, and he tells me that if this bill is not cleared up tonight, it is going to the LA courts tomorrow and I would have a warrent out for my arrest!
I tell the guy that I never received this so called order that he is talking about and I would not be paying for something that I did not order or receive! He then tells me that he would help me out, if I payed the bill tonight he would send me the so called order that I never received free of charge! ( like ###, does he think I just fell off a banana tree?)
So I tell him that I will not pay the bill, and have to actually hang up on this ### hole. He then continues to call my number 20 times after I don't answer!
I have contacted the authorities in there area about the harassing calls and would love to throw a class action law suit against these ### heads!
Please let the world know about these guys, to prevent anyone else from getting harassed or even worse, giving these ### there hard earned money!

We unfortunately fell for this scam and ordered tools. the tools that showed up to our house were not the tools that we ordered. we called and they were refusing to come pick them up and now they're telling us that we have to pay this bill when we want to ship the tools back. they're telling us we had 30 days. We'll they waited to 30 days before they got got back to us and we called numerous times and it was always ill have someone call you. Now we are getting harassing phone calls from Mr. Frank Johnson he's an attorney. telling us the sheriffs going to file a judgment I told them go ahead. When it goes to court I'll bring the tools and then they can take them back with them and then they proceed to tell us that the business is no longer in business so we're stuck paying for the bill and we cant return them if it goes to court or not

This Johnson guy is nothing but a punk. He's probably a fat old bald man still living with his parents. I ordered from ACE and got a bunch of crap painting supplies and they were supposed to send some better ones and never did so now I got this Johnson guy calling. Threats of arrest, jail, and all kinds of crap, but his words are slurred so I think he's on something. People, don't believe their BS, what they are doing is wrong. We are all business people and as such we all know this is wrong and hopefully they'll b e out of business soon. No business that is run this way will succeed and thats what counts

Gage Mitchell from Ace Industrial Supply called our office today. He asked for the president of the company and a gentleman who is no longer with our company. He asked for both by name. I told him that the president was out. I asked him what the call was regarding and he replied it was about an invoice. I asked what company he was with and he reluctantly told me Ace Industrial Supply. As I do all the accounting, I asked if I could help him. He said something smart-alecky like good for me doing all the accounting. He asked about getting an invoice paid and I asked him to fax a copy to me. It was hard to get information from him, talk about 20 questions. When I finally refused to give him contact information for the former employee or the president of the company, he said, "Oh Jesus Christ!" and hung up on me. I called the number back, the same man answered (he has a distinctive Southern accent). I asked if this was Ace and he said, "No, wrong number." I then called the main office in California and talked to a man called Doug Roberts. He assured me that he would look into the matter and this Gage Mitchell would be fired. I told him it didn't reflect well on Ace Industrial Supply if their employees spoke like that to people over the phone. I hope I never hear from them again, but if I do, I will be fully prepared to file complaints with the Attorney General of Texas and the Federal Trade Commission. Oh and by the by, we are an investment manager. We wouldn't need anything Ace is selling.

My company has been trying to get Ace to stop calling for over a year now. I have sent a Cease and Desist registered letter. I keep getting calls from them each getting ruder and ruder, three times they have given me the wrong # to call for the DNC list. The last guy was so rude when i told him we do not want or need his tools. I told him I had read all the reviews on the web and do not want to do business with ACE.. He actually had the nerve to say "Why would you read the reviews" " Make up your own mind." I could not believe what he was saying . I then told him that I read the reviews after we got a shipment from them that we did not order/ want or need and an over inflated invoice for sub-par tools and outrageous shipping rates. He again asked why I would read reviews. Told him maybe he should re evaluate his career choice and read some of the reviews and see what kind of company he works for... He Hung Up on me

Hello. I worked for this company for 5 years and was very successful in doing so. They are out of Burbank California and have branches throughout the u.s. they are not the only company doing this but their empire if you will is larger than most others. I was responsible for selling these tools primarily to Canada. The company pays its salesmen no hourly wage but between 25-30% commission only. The bottom line is this, don't order anything over the phone. Have you people never heard of the internet? Now I realize they just send you stuff sometimes you really did not order. Screw them. Keep it, burn it, sell it. There's really nothing they can do. The only one its hurting in the long run is the salesman who is gonna get a charge back for the merchandise cuz he just shipped out some wood. Live Free.

Ace is the worst. If you want to try and sell something, don't be rude! You want to call me, fine. But if I don't need anything at that time, yelling at me and slamming the phone down in my face is probably not going to get you a sale when I DO need something! I have never dealt with a company so full of self righteous A.H.'s. So take your ball and go home! LOL! (ADVICE: STAY AWAY FROM ACE MANUFACTURING. THEY ARE WORSE THAN THE GUYS SELLING JUNK TOOLS IN STORE PARKING LOTS!)

I got a call to purchase some high tech drill bits and they sent me 2 sets. I checked the online price and I could of got the same sets for about 25% of what my bill was. I sent them back and told them I didn't like being scammed. They also had a no hassle return policy. When the package was delivered by Purolator they refused to accept it. I told Purolator to try one more time and if they refuse again I will get it sent back at my expense but have informed them I will not be paying the bill! I advise nobody to deal with them!

I worked at this company, I didn't realize it was a scam when I worked there. I was given numbers and told to dial them and read a pitch, I was selling drill bits with a life time guarantee which really does sound like a good deal, one day I called this number and the guy said I already bought them, I had a few I sharpened, but honestly I need them replaced, I told my boss and I was in a bad financial situation or I would have never considered this kind of work my boss says specifically, It will come out of your pay check you sure you want to do this. After that it really started to bug me that they were defrauding people, but I couldn't quit I needed a pay check to pay my bills before I left next thing I remember, is one of the sales reps says specifically if it bothers you so much maybe this just isn't the right kind of Job for you. It really ate me up, I was not able to sell it was coming through on the phone, I was asked to come to the back in a room with my boss, he goes, I have your pay checks I need you to sign this paper I looked at this paper and I was shocked he was firing me, I was just to honest for this Job, I was told to sign or I would not be paid an obvious labor board violation, but I needed my checks or I was going to be on the street I was almost there already. This place needs to be shutdown.
