Don't use for any reason
Ok so we used them to get some tires for a truck and the only reason they were used is because we were in the process of buying a house and couldn't have that much mo ey coming out of account at one time well we have been making $400-$500 payments and only owed around $400 when our 90 days was getting close well needless to say the app conveniently stops working and everytime we were able to get someone on the phone the calls would get disconnected so now it's a week after the 90 days and guess what finally we were able to reach someone who tells us that now since we missed the 90 days we have to pay $1400 to do the purchase which is more than was ever even borrowed from them and have already paid them almost $1000 they even said they could see all the calls that we have made to them before the 90 days was up but yet no help at all and so far they have transferred us about 10 times today and hung up on us 4 this is a straight pos company that has it set up so people can't pay things off in 90 days
Recommendation: Don't waste your time or money
Thought about sending my item back
When I first signed to get my item I was so not aware of all the extra fees that come out . They gave me the finial price I would be paying every two weeks in the store , but upon checking out my bank statements I’m actually paying more . I thought about just paying the item completely off but when I looked at the pay out amount it almost doubles in interest . I wouldn’t recommend this leasing company unless you are ok with paying all the extra “taxes” they have to offer. Not to mention, waiting to pay all your payments on time will result in you almost tripling in price. Think before you bye.

Awful awful awful!
Went and applied and to my surprise, got approved for $1400. I downloaded the app and from the get go it is awful. Constantly glitchy and slow to load every single page. Like, you maybe have a 2% chance to get through to a page. Went on the PC to checkout there. I get to the final step for payment and I can’t enter my debit card number. Tried to reach out through chat but was met with some of the most terrible CSR I’ve ever seen. No acknowledgement, just told me to call a number after waiting. No attempt to help me. Good thing I didn’t give them my money. They sure as heck don’t deserve business

Highly Irritated and Disappointed
I wish I had read the reviews first before ever leasing with them. I originally was approved for $5,000. I purchased a sofa/loveseat for $2,700.
After a month Acima reported to the credit bureau that I leased the full approval amount for the $5,000 I was originally approved for. Why not just report for the amount I leased oh that’s right it’s because they charge you 100% interest for the product you’re leasing. So I have to pay over $5,000 for a $2,700 product! That’s ridiculous! Absolutely not worth leasing from this company, please be aware you will pay double for any item that you lease with them.

Save up your money
Don’t believe the paid bot responses… no matter who you end up having a lease for through Acima the predatory lending rates are astronomical… I totally understand that some folks might prefer a two year lease to buy but even paying off the lease inside 90-Days has an astronomical amount of interest where you’re paying pretty much double the regular retail price just for paying off inside 90-days… you’re better off saving up your money. The company literally doesn’t care about you and even when you make a payment on-time they’ll still take the regularly scheduled payment until your lease is done or bought out and those kinda double charges are crazy…

App going wrong
I did business with them before through way fair. Never had a problem until now on their website you can get approve but you only can shop on there mobile app which means it can or can’t work it just depends on the merchant. My merchant was Bestbuy ,when it was time for me to shop the website didn’t come up at all but the other merchants worked perfectly.
I contact customer service and the only thing they can do is send you to tech support or advise they will send the issue to tech support which don’t help at all when you need the purchase right away.Also please make sure when you get an approval the store is in your location that was my first issue.

App Crashes Way Too Much
I already signed my lease agreement and the paid the initial payment and the app decides to crash. My order never went through with Best Buy and I was told that they would cancel and refund me my initial payment and the only thing that happened was that they canceled the lease agreement for me. I’m still waiting on my refund. I was also told that I’ll be able to place my order again since the lease agreement was canceled, now every time I try it tells me that I’m exceeding my spending limit of $1.00. The app is horrible and when you call Acima they don’t know how to help you because no one knows how to use it. All they tell you is that’s IT is going to investigate.

Terrible Customer Service
I’m not sure what the secret is to getting in touch with this company. I’m trying to update the phone number on my account so that I can verify my account at the time of purchase.
You cannot update your phone number online or on the app. I have sat for hours on different chats getting “transferred” only to have no one pick up the chat. I have sat on hold on the phone for hours after being told my wait time was 15 minutes.
I even tried using the Spanish line to no avail. The only response I have received is “a different department is handling your account” and then they transfer me and no one ever picks back up.
If you are able, I would use a different leasing company.

App is working for all these 5 Star Ratings?
Haven’t had a good experience and all these 5 Star ratings make it look kinda shady. Got approved for an amount. Paid first initial payment but haven’t gotten any info in return so I can checkout my items at the online store of my choice. None of the Reps are trained for this new app and all I get is that the techs know what going on and are trying to fix it. It’s been 2 weeks since I signed the lease agreement and paid the first payment. And all I get it it should be fixed this date then this date... even the reps said it’s been a nightmare with the app and with no training on what to do… they even added why would they offer such a thing if they knew it had critical issues.

Bad customer service!
they constantly take the payment out on the wrong payday I get paid every two weeks it started out OK and then I added another item to my financing and then they started taking it out instead of every two weeks on my payday every week for one and then the next week for the other which caused me to have overdraft fees at my bank because it was on a day that was not my payday and then acima also charges me $25 late fee because the bank returns it so I get hit twice this has happened three times now they refuse to fix it and say they can't do anything about the late charges that wasn't my fault to begin with! once these items are paid off I will never use this company or recommend it ever again!

TERRIBLE MONEY HUNGRY DEMONS!
They deleted my review because they don’t want you all to know the truth. This company is a complete scam if you have the chance to run I would suggest you RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN! I bought furniture for $2000 with tax, and asked to be signed up for 90 day payout. After calling several times I thought I was set up to pay off my furniture but coming to find out they never signed me up for it and added $3000 (yes, $3000!) of fees for not paying it off in 90 days. Then I try to return and they tell me that I have to drop of the furniture MYSELF (I ordered a couch and bedroom set with a huge chest) and still pay them $600 just to close the lease. Awful, horrible, money hungry. I really regret ever leasing with them it’s been a nightmare to say the least.

Lease To Own
I’ve used Acima a few times without any incident. I will admit: Read the fine print in your lease agreement. It’s all there in black and white.
Acima will allow you to pay off your agreement within 90 days with minimal fees added to the purchase amount.
However, if you choose to exercise the full lease time (24 payments) do not be shocked when you pay double for your item. This is no different than other rent/lease to own companies.
If you cannot pay off the purchased item in 90 days, then you should probably seek other means of payment options, or be prepared to pay additional fees through this company.
I appreciate that they offer their service. It may not be for everyone, but all the fees and payment dates are given to you upfront before YOU agree to the lease.

I guess people don’t know how to do their own research anymore and are just mindlessly applying for lease-to-owns nowadays. Reading these reviews has truly stunned me to my pearls, because y’all are mad that this is a lease to own program and you didn’t take the time to educate yourself on how this service works? Y’all are crazy, Acima, just like Progressive, Snap, and other LEASE-TO-OWN programs works amazing at facilitating your payments as well as giving you 90 days option to pay it off with no lease to own cost. Educate yourselves before bad mouthing on this company who provides a great flexible service for people. Shame on y’all for your ignorance, it’s not Acima’s fault that y’all didn’t read the fine print or ask more questions when applying and signing your lease to own agreement.

Loan sharks by any other name
If you agree from a merchant to pay for something with Acima, as I did for a pair of glasses, make sure you set up the "early payment agreement" with Acima so that you are paying a sensible and tax / interest free installment which is probably what you are intending. I was sure to do this right away once reading that these people otherwise were expecting me to pay over $1,000 for q $500 pair of glasses, which is 100% interest, something that is literally illegal through any loan or credit provider that pulls your credit information. Skeezy company that prays on poverty and bad credit. The world is full of them. I have paid off my installment without giving them an extra red cent and feel like I need to take a shower now. Screw these vultures and any merchant that partners with them, to be honest. It's unethical.

Not worth it
So I decide to buy a last min gift for my husband, for a very special occasion And the total cost was 850$. Its was my second time using acima the first time i paid in full my purchase with the 3 months “early purchase” thing that they have. So according to them when you use them for a second time you get like a 25% off of whatever you purchase but THATS NOT TRUE. From the 850$ i was down to 335$ and i was late for 1 day to do my “early purchase” again and can you believe these ppl told me that i had to pay them 100$ more i was really upset cause they tell you that you can have 7 more days extra and thats not true. I end up paying 435$ which its makes no sense cause they were charging me every 2 weeks. So next time I rather to wait and NOT USE ACIMA they really charge alot of taxes for no reason. So if you think about it you can end up paying more in interest than what your item costs.

Zero stars if I could
Unbelievable. If I could zero star this company I would. Absolute trash and you WILL pay ATLEAST double the price on the merchandise. You are 100% better off purchasing in full through original sellers or even leasing anywhere else. Ps5? Ended up paying close to 2k in payments. iPhone 13? OVER 2k in payments. I am swamped with life so I wasn’t even checking until I did all my calculations and could believe how I let all this pass. please do NOT purchase or lease in this place. All your money literally goes into the trash. Absolutely disappointed. And they “don’t charge interest” them where is all this extra money from? Going to? Ask. Changed my review from 2 to 4 stars
So the app approves me for 2100. I buy something at Best Buy for close to that purchase amount of course I don’t let the tax shipping in or anything go over 21. But during checkout it seems to be going great they create a one time card number and it keeps failing every time I attempt to pay Best Buy tells me my payment is failing please contact the bank. The bank which is acme gives me some kind of weird reason saying that the price was off by $20. Not over my limit just off by $20. Anyway they tell me to try it again and this time as I go to check out it changes my credit limit from 2100 to 1400 this is silly crazy how do you do this in a matter of minutes? Keep in mind I’ve already removed my first payment from my bank account and it’s going to be seven days before it’s returned. Anyway hopefully they get it together it seems like a pretty good program if you’re going to pay it off in 90 days.
(Update the following day. I did call and the total amount approved for was corrected. They’re not sure what caused the store not to except the credit card payment. But the balance is fixed I will try this again tomorrow. Thanks for responding)

Under zero circumstances
Little info about my experience with this company.
Tried to pay off loan 2 days before the 90 day mark, only for the payment to “have been rejected by my financial institution” which of course my bank said was untrue.
Tried to return product but decided to take a settlement offer that was presented to me. Set up 3 monthly payments to settle account( which was never delinquent ever I might add). Paid the first payment with no issues. 2nd payment comes due and I get an email saying “payment could not be processed”. I immediately go on and pay the balance the DAY it was due and went about my day. Fast forward 2 weeks, I start being billed $82 again weekly. I call in and was informed that even though they don’t send an email or notify you of the process in any way, the payment I made on the day it was due, was not put towards the settlement since I didn’t “call in and specify that I wanted it to go towards the settlement” now I am on the hook for another $2000 for a $1500 laptop that I’ve already paid $2500 for. This is my 2nd time with the company, I financed a pc and had ZERO ISSUES the first go around.
I find it highly suspicious that I have had multiple issues surrounding payments this time and can verify through bank statements that there was more than enough funds to draw the payments. I will be pursuing legal action against this company and want to inform everyone. Even if you are somebody that can make the payments with ease, “issues arise” and you could end up paying double or triple the original cost. Customer service will acknowledge your complaint and simply offer you to return the item as the only fix to the issue.
I can’t think of any circumstances that warrant using this company for anything.

Two tires purchased at Big O Tires
Amount of lease agreement at time of signing up was $645 (August 1, 2023). I signed up for twice-monthly auto payments that would total $1,806 if I didn't pay early. No auto deductions came out as I was making twice-monthly payments on my own. The Early Purchase Option ended on October 31. Prior to October 31, I had made $480 in payments that left a balance of $165. Now, since I didn't pay off the balance within the EPO time frame, Acima is now saying I owe them $1,200! In other words, all the scheduled payments on the original lease, now still have to be made because of the EPO timing. I realized yesterday that I had paid $702 in voluntary payments against a $645 'purchase'. So, I can't pay off a lease early? Sounds usurious and like a class-action lawsuit just waiting to happen!

This company is horrible
Zero stars if possible! This company is horrible. They auto draft on any day they please. I am always auto drafted early (10+ days before my draft date) for some reason. It has happened multiple times on different Leasing agreements. The customer service is horrible, everyone I talk to is rude and seems to not want to help! I will never suggest them to anyone nor will I ever use them again.

Previous 5 star ratings are a joke
One time cards do not work after after initiating your lease. When you contact customer service they are helpful but are clueless as to what is going on with the app themselves. Was told glitches would be resolved by many dates according to their IT area and nothing had been fixed. My suggestion: get rid of your entire IT area and get folks who know what they are doing and delete all of these fake 5 star ratings.

Well paying Customer since 2018 Blocked and rude customer service
I have successfully completed 6 different leases totaling over $7k with you guys all paid within the 90 day period and now am told “we are unable to approve you for shopping power at this time”. It has said this for over a year now. I was told to contact you guys and when I do I get rude customer service that says they can’t tell me anything. You have successfully blocked a well paying customer from using your service.

Don’t lease with them unless …
Do NOT lease with them unless you absolutely need that item. Emergency only. And if you’re able to pay that item off within 60 days. Yes they give you 90 days BUT even if you decide pay off early, they tack on a ridiculous amount of interest. So if you decide to pay the item off after 90 days, you’d pay what ever is still owed plus 45 percent interest of REMAINING payments owed.
Do NOT use this company unless you need to.

Credit scam that preys on the poor be very careful
If you’re certain you will have the money in 90 days then by all means this is a great credit options. But if you fall into a hardship and can not meet that your item price will double or triple. Leaving you stuck with what is basically now an expensive rental item. You’re only options being cutting your losses and being out of whatever you have put in. Or just stick the lease out and end up paying double or triple an items value

Very upset and confused
I recently was approved for up to $4,000 but didn’t realize the place was so far and I couldn’t order online. I decided to apply for a place that was closer and was denied for some unknown reason after just being approved the day prior! I contacted them and not only do they not care they told me I could only use up to $2500 at the original store now. This is such bull crap I just don’t know what else to say. I would definitely not try working with this company.

Disappointing
The app barely works. They really only deal with off brand companies besides maybe Best Buy or something. I actually sign the least paid my first deposit and received a error from their end. They canceled my lease and order- haven’t returned the money and best buy said I had to wait (no actually time…. Just time.) before I can try and order through them. Even if I tried to order with another through company I would have to put down another deposit.

So the app logged me in fine one day had all my lease history and everything seemed fine. Started a new lease yesterday and logged into the app and it will not let me log in saying I don’t have an Acima account and my login doesent exist. It doesent recognize my phone number and refuses to let me log in to the point of basically wanting me to create a new account. Now I’m unsure how to pay for my lease

How is this Not illegal??
They set you up for a 12month lease right. But it has like 200-300% interest rate. How is this not illegal . I paid off my item the second I opened the lease. Please if you can pay it off fast. I paid off the item in less than a week and ended up paying 100$ in fees. So they going to get you one way or another the initial 70$ payment is a fee to my understanding it doesn’t even affect your balance. And than you pay 25$ to make the early payment. Y’all stay safe out there.

This app is a total waste of time, After spending so much work and giving them my personal data, they decided to give me some points to be able to buy a Mobile, and after spending several hours deciding which would be the most appropriate, when I go to make the payment they tell me that I am not approved... The Worst
The app is definitely the worst. Got approved and purchased through Game Stop . Took the initial $50 out of my account. Checked for days to see my lease show up in my account, well it didn’t. I messaged customer service, got the runaround to 3 different departments. Finally got someone to say that the order had been canceled due to the supplier. I have also tried to use my approval at Best Buy to no avail. It always says the item must be at least $300. Needles to say this all has been a waste of mh time and effort.

I do NOT reccommend this company be used for any type of leasing. It is a rip off - I purchased 9 items with a total of $1300 in purchases and returned 3 items, which Acima asked me to contact the purchase company to claim my refund bc they did not receive the refund order from. It took a month to resolve. It was finally taken off and I had paid $600 of the $862 owed. The 90-day lease term ended and now the balance remains $1,000. Ummm...Someone isnt doing thier math correctly. Worst company! Do NOT use this company!

Great company with App that needs fixing asap
Great company got approved and what not, i wont lie i started to wonder if this was a scam since i paided my initial payment and then boom app crashes and nothing, no item & out the initial payment that came out of my card. Took me two days finally to reach someone successfully in the in app department sicne the phone lines were 1 hr to 1 hr- 2hr wait times to ralk to someone and then it would hang up on it own. Finally got it resolved got my item but app needs to be looked at it. If it wasn't for the app acting a fool i would of gave you 5 stars.

The company needs to either bring back lease pay cards. Or the one time payment card is good for 24 hours. I wasFumbling trying to write down the card number. Because the copy and paste wasn’t working. It was only utilizing three numbers or phone numbers. I already tried to purchase items earlier this week. which didn’t work out right because the time was up to soon. I noticed that I put the wrong location for pick up. yeah it is about reading and understanding the terms and conditions i did not know that there is a rent/lease tax you must pay so i ended up paying almost 100$ more within the 3 months i paid it off...do not use apps i rarely use them for anything i paid my payments on line and the payments were directly deducted from my bank assount
