I'm 70yo, severely disabled and wheelchair bound with life limiting illnesses and am totally alone in life.as a multiple stroke sufferer and having had 3 heart attacks and have a life limiting aneurysm I get confused very easily and can't process information especially complex info and have little to no memory.
I had bought a new large smart TV but did not want any of the internet usage on it,I only wanted a large one so I can read what's on screen and also to get a good picture for gaming, and I did not have a clue how to set it up,so I phoned aerial force to book a technician to set my TV up via my Freeview box and connect my X box to it.
I was quoted £69.99 unless I needed to buy something else for it.
The technician arrived andi explained carefully my full situation and needs,he proceeded to supposedly complete what I asked for,and after connecting my Freeview box and X box, scanned for the channels.his scan found only 113 TV channels and a number of radio channels and I immediately said that's not right because on the TV I have at present I get 147 TV channels not counting radio channels,he was absolutely adamant that was the most channels he could get.i argued the facts and he tried 3 times to scan for more channels and got the same result every time the attitude I received was impatient and totally unhelpful and repetitive causing me to get extremely confused and stressed out so severely that I thought I was going to have another heart attack.then when he quoted a bill for £108 I was even more stressed and annoyed as he had not even fulfilled my request to have my Freeview channels on my new TV I was short of 34 channels.then he asked me to sign the bottom of the form agreeing that I was liable for any possible parking charges.i refused and told him he'd better leave as it could cause me another heart attack.at no point did he explain to me how to access or use my Freeview box on my new TV.
After calming down I phoned the TV company and explained everything, and the person at the company very slowly and in detail explained what the technician should have done and should have explained to me.the technician from aerial force at no point changed the hdmi on my TV to the one which used my Freeview box nor did he explain which remote to use to access all Freeview box services on my TV,and I found out instantly that all my channels were now accessible and all services as well.at no point did the technician id paid explain any of that and the TV company explained he had only done a live TV channel search nothing else.
The technicians attitude throughout was impatient, uncaring unsympathetic and adamant he was correct on everything and made me feel as if I was imposing on him asking for his help,it made me very uncomfortable and unwell.then finally being asked to pay £108 when £69.99 had been quoted was the final insult to an awful service and experience.under no circumstances would I ever recommend anyone uses this companies services.
Claimed loss: Amount unknown, but for extreme stress anxiety and no fulfilled service of my requested needs I feel some sort of redress is appropriate
Desired outcome: I leave that to those who are there to decide those things
