I am a 62 year old white male diagnosed with MS in 2017. I was put Aubagio in 2017 to help manage the MS. For the next several years BCBS and UnitedHealthcare each provided timely support for Aubagio; each insurance company was through work. Unfortunately, again through work the insurance company changed to Aetna. Aetna took so long to approve the Aubagio prescription, it was the first time I missed a dose. However, they did approve and I continued on the Aubagio. Then in 2023, Aetna said they would no longer cover Aubagio. They gave a list of potential replacement drugs that they would cover. My neurologist and I chose the Aubagio generic - Teriflunomide, thinking this would have minimal impact since leaving Aubagio or the generic would require a washout period since it stays in the system for up to two years. Unfortunately I had a severe reaction to the Teriflunomide. It was so bad that i had to stop taking it. I am now on nothing and Aetna does not care. I have requested an exception for Aubagio and been denied. I have submitted an appeal but that can take a month to hear something. In the meantime, I feel the MS is a ticking time bomb. Again Aetna does not care! I know you may be thinking get the Aubagio yourself. Well FYI it's $7000 per month for a 30 day supply. I document this publicly so when my MS takes a turn for the worse, I have a legal standing to blame Aetna. Thanks Aetna for caring about your insured.

Desired outcome: Cover the drug I need.
