I have unknowingly been joined to affiny dating site which is linked to match.com.
I have tried numerous times to change my password as it will not let me access my profile. When i do change it, it still does not let me access it and says 'failed attempt'.
I desperately wish to cancel the subscription as i do not wish to be charged another month for this as i am not using it.

I was charged £143.40 to my account. I have not taken out a subscription and therefore want refunded. I had subscribed to match affinity for two separate 1 month subscription last year however I have never taken out a yearly subscription and have had no contact with the site for approx 12 months. You did exactly the same with Match.com even though I cancelled my subscription before renew date. Please can you reimburse me then delete me completely and I will make sure my bank blocks you from my accounts

I cancelled the automatic renew of my membership after signing up to the wrong dating site. I paid £54 originally on an offer which I thought was for Match.com
I immediately cancelled the automatic renewal but in the last two days you have take. £101.40 from my account without my permission.

I joined Match affinity but after trying to navigate the site found this was not for me. I tried to download the cancellation form but this was found on the site. I wish to cancel my subscription and receive a full refund that I am entitled to. I am applying for this in the given time of 48 hours and hope this will be refunded with no problems

Each time I have attempted to reach the site the software cunningly switches my efforts and by passes my entries... Clever stuff.
Anyway I cannot confirm my wish to cancel my subscription taken out on 11th November with immediate effect... It is within their ‘cooling off condition' and they would have received my request yesterday but their site did not permit me to contact them...When you follow their instructions and press unsubscribe it pops up with a request for you to finish your profile. All attempts to close this window fails. You just get sent back to potential matches. Clever stuff but a con!

I have been trying to cancel a subscription. There is a 14 day cooling off period and I am not happy with the service provided by Match Affinity.com. I will be writing to the Financial Ombudsman today and suggest anyone else on this thread does the same. It is a disgrace that these people are preying upon people who are innocently looking for someone special.

31.08.16 I signed up for a month of Match Affinity. Price: NOK 99, which I gave authority to pull from my debit card. A month later, 30.09.16, I expanded my membership to be able to read messages from people who had contacted me. I also extended the membership by 3 months. Price: NOK 747. What I didn't realize and what was never communicated to me is that the Match Affinity membership kept running for a price at NOK 599 pr month in addition to what I believed was an expanded membership. Even after I cancelled the expanded Match membership in January 2017, the Match Affinity charge kept running until June. Thats when I realized I was charged for a product I didn't know I was buying. As it was very unclear to me what the charge was, I actually had to cancel the card in order to cut of the payment. This was recommended by the bank.
I now want to file a complaint and request you to pay back the charge from October 2016 through June 2017, i.e. 9 months a NOK 599.
It was very unclear that the Match Affinity membership would keep running. My understanding is that I expanded the membership, not signed up for an additional one. I couldn't find any information regarding this. If such information exist it is very unclear.
I also find it really strange that after being bombarded with e-mails until I cancelled my membership in January, I haven't received a single mail from you, until July 3rd when you weren't able to charge my account. Then you are asking me to activate my membership. To me this proves that you are speculating in pulling charges for a membership I wasn't aware of was running.
To be honest, I'm quite disappointed, as I thought Match was a serious actor in the market. Thats why I chose you. However what has happened to me proves that you are quite the opposite.
I don't know what information to give you in order for you to refund my payments. Pls contact me and I will provide it.

I try to email however ReCaptua will not work despite the fact I put the right words.
I am starting to think this is a con to prevent me from cancelling

I joined and paid for a one month subscription. I decided immediately upon viewing the profiles that I wanted to cancel. Your T&Cs say I can do so within 1 month and receive a refund. Every time I go to the cancellation page it takes me round and round in circles without letting me cancel. There are no contact details on your website to get assistance with this. If I can't cancel, I can't get my money back. I have a right to be able to do so.
I cancelled my subscription on 29 November 2022. I note on my bank statement that I have been charged again. I would like this noted and refund processed immediately to my bank account.

I am a cancer patient and cannot work, I wanted to sign up for one month to see what this online dating was like. There was a problem with the site and it through me out and then I tried again only for it to take a full years subscription costing me a £143.40, I am now unable to pay my rent and this is causing un nessasary stress to me! I rang customer service in the philapeans, where I was told I would receive a full refund in a few days this has not happened and now when I call the number it doesn't go through to anyone.
Do yourself a favour! Do not join! Watch dog should be made aware so other unfortunate people do not get scammed! The more people contact watch dog, the more likely they will look into the problem, and the less likely others will fall for the same scam. After all this site is advertised on out tv's which is where I heard of them!

There was a special offer for one month of £9.99 in November 2016. I thought "why not?" but then was hammered with a much larger £44.95 bill the following month. I was under the impression this was purely a one month trial. Dreadful experience. The contact us tab associated with this site is simply ridiculous. It tells you to keep checking site for answers with no option of contacting anybody at all. I want a full refund. This advert was a misrepresentation. Disgusted with service and would not remotely recommend this site to anyone. Has anybody written to Trading Standards?
This is what happened to me too. I took out the offer of £9.99, there was nothing to say that I would have to literally cancel the subscription and I was charged a phenomenal monthly amount of £44.95 of which I have done, but although have paid for it they have excluded all services for this following month subscription. How is it possible that they are abel to take auto payments and then not provide for any service. This is short of a scam in the financial world and seriously should be looked at to protect consumers from fraudulent activitiies. There is nowhere on the site that is easily accessibile when wanting to cancel your membership subscription. The service overall is a complete waste of time, many of the people have complained how bad the service is and there is a misrepresentation of advertising standards in their correspondence which is clearly misleading.
I totally agree, just like you I took the offer of £9.99 for one month. Nowhere did it say that I would then be charged £44.95 for each subsequent month. I have just discovered that amount on my credit card statement and have been told that a second payment of £44.95 was taken in February. Usually websites offer means of contact by telephone or email, not Match Affinity, doesn't that tell you a lot about how they conduct their business? Please beware of these extortionate monthly charges unless you really are happy with what you are getting for your money. I would love for Trading Standards to pick up on the negative comments regarding this website.

I think it is disgusting that there is not contact email/telephone number on the website. When you click on the Contact Us tab, nothing happens!
Maybe you could try contacting Match.Com as technically, it is the same company and I've heard that their customer service is okay.
