American Multi-Cinema Inc AMC

AMC IS THE WORST EMPLOYER!

First off f*** AMC STUBSS! it is by far the worst thing to ever happen at AMC. I work at the biggie the flagship theater, Empire25. Out of my hire group I excelled the most. First to be box trained, guest services trained, and the only one to be booth trained. I was so good I even got trained for guest services BEFORE being trained for box office. The things that I have seen in my 1.5 yrs working there are unbelievable,
1. the management is lazy and you have to fight them for everything you need them to do. my bf worked with me and he had to ask FIVE different managers to fax his direct deposit info on separate, spaced occasions and none of them ever did it. And you have to fight them to fix your clock-ins/outs and even if you call about it and they said they did it, they didnt

2. Managers pick their favorites and thats it. I was trained in everything, in good standing with my managers and fellow employees and I applied for trainer. I never even got a response to the workbrain email i sent. But then this other girl who was hired after me and not even trained for box or guest services got the position because the managers liked her. A complete idiot got it as well and when he trained his first class he asked me where to find soda syrups! Good, hard-working, sensible people get fired and written up, and threatened with both of those EVERYDAY. Ridiculous, lazy, stupid people keep their jobs because managers like them.

3. In an entire year, most people will get sick, or have some sort of incident in their lives which will not allow them to come to work. If I have a cold or the flu or something, I'll be damned if I'm going to a doctor and paying a $15 co-payment for them to tell me to get rest and drink fluids [like I would've done anyway] JUST so AMC can have a doctor's note. f*** THAT! f*** do you need that ### for. No one can cover my shift? I DON'T GIVE A f*** I WAS SCHEDULED AGAINST MY AVAILABILITY ANYWAY!
My bf closed on a thursday and put the new shipment of stock away at the request of my manager. he got home at 6am. The last time he checked to see if the schedule was done was 3am and it wasnt. He got a call later the next day asking him why he didnt come in for his 8am shift on friday. WTF?!
And I remember this girl, a minor, had a death in her family and was trying to call out for the last 3hrs. I picked up the phone because even tho guest services walkied the managers about her calling and they said "copy" none on picp the phone to see why she was calling. And they tried writing her up when she just decided to come in because she came in late. WTF?!

4. I work in a theater so i get free movies whenever I want!- WRONG! you may get up to 4 passes for only memebers of your immediate household. you cant see new movies when they come out, you cant get tickets if a show is selling out. And oh yeah, I wanna watch this movie but I work 6 days in a row, and gosh, i get off at 11pm thursday so i can catch the last showing but the schedule probably wont be up and I might have to open on friday. -_____-

AMC STUBS
1. Its a stupid program. soooo you expect someone to buy 2 3D IMAX tickets, a Combo #1, some candy, AND buy a useless 12 MUTHAf***ING DOLLAR card?! When I spend $100 i get $10 back? really how much can $10 get you at AMC? 2 large candies, 2 bottled drinks...not very much!

2. My theater has stupid contests for Box Star, Concession Star, and Guest Connections Star and whoever wins gets to use these specially painted lockers in the breakroom for a week [because we cant have our own lockers anymore every saturday they clip locks and throw stuff out]. Back in the day [before STUBS aka the enemy] they were for whoever sold the most tickets, whoever made the most in concession...and the last one was actually called usher star I guess for whoever kept their floors neatest. Now theyre for whoever sold the most stubs in box, concession, and just in general. STUPID!
Concession is where AMC makes its real money not box office. So you mean the person who makes like $, 10, 000 in a month for the company and sold 20 stubs [$240 included in that sum] does not deserve concession star MORE than the person who in the same month sold 100 stubs [$1, 200] but only made $2, 000 [stubs included] for the company?!
And selling Stubs doesnt mean youre connecting with the guests. It means your lucky that someone who already has a stubs card, is smart enough NOT to have one, or doesnt have time for one didnt come to your register and someone totally opposite did.

3. Threatening termination over not selling or not being able to sell 100 MILLION Stubs like the half machine new hires you replaced the good workers you fired with is stupid and unethical really. The new people only know how to sell stubs. all other problems that arise they lack common sense. "what ring up a guild pass? how? is that a stubs card?" -___- "Oh im sorry ma'am you cant use a gift card, only a stubs card." really? So go ahead AMC. fire all the people who know what theyre doing and keep the people who only know how to sell stubs. i see a marvelous future of bankruptcy on the horizon. = )
