American Red Cross Death Notification

My mother called the ARC to see about sending a formal notification of a cousin's death to my chain of command (I'm in the Army), and the ARC specifically informed my mother that they would not send the notification since she was not an immediate family member nor did she meet the criteria for a "close cousin." The reason this matter is because I currently am stationed in Alaska and plane tickets are nearly one thousand dollars since the funeral is such short notice (as these things usually are). The Army is willing to give me a grant to help cover the plane ticket but I would NEED the emergency notification from the ARC. My step-father and I were both able to call the ARC to confirm, it's true. And so now, I am financially blocked from seeing my family because the ARC WILL NOT simply send a death notification to my chain of command, mind you, the ARC isn't directly involved in finanical assistance in my case, it would simply make me meet one box of the Army Emergency Relief criteria (separate from the ARC).

Thank you American Red Cross for helping your country and thnk you for screwing me over. Much appreciated, Average Army Soldier!

Desired outcome: Hopefully the American Red Cross can do what the organization is supposed to do, help people, and not screw them over. Just send the message, I don't need anything else from the ARC as the ARMY will take it from afterwards.

American Red Cross Red Cross employee/ military associated

All event have transpired between Feb2022- present

Where do I start, I am at MK air base in Romania and have had the pleasure of interwar ting with the American Red Cross SAF Red Cross employees. With that being said I would like to address that Mrs. McKinnon, Ms. smith and Ms. Maharaj in the MK air base Red Cross office have performed admirably. Those three are in my opinion are 100% devoted to the mission and have gave there job and there personal time to mentor, counsel and cultivate relationships. As soon as they get off they choose to spend time with the soldiers by either playing cards or just talking to the military community. Ms Maharaj with take anytime out of her day to listen to anyone who needs to vent or release some worries. Her Mindful Mondays has helped many find peace and solace in a very stressful environment. She is the most kind and loving and non judging person I have ever met. Ms McKinnon with her diverse background in engineering has the ability to appeal to our more intellectual crowed and is more then glad to Participate and encourage people to get outside there comfort zone for example like dancing or any classes provided by the Red Cross. Ms smith has the most warm and positive soul I have ever met. She care so much about the work she does regardless if she is off duty or not. I remember that MWR did an event and all three Red Cross members decided to come and participate and hang out with the troops. For me this showed that they cared enough about us and that it wasn’t just a job.

Now for Ms Pech to say the least is awkward and appearing to be fake. The biggest concern I have is on one occasion, Ms Pech was more then happy to allow one of the soldier to borrow an item ( sports supplies ) for an event planned and when asked by another person to use the same items Ms Pech deliberately lied to one me even though she was the one who allowed it to be used a few days prior. In turn I went and asked one of the others Red Cross members to borrow the items and was allowed. I expressed my concern to one of the members of the Red Cross team and took my complaint with care and was receptive. I have talked to many of my colleges and found that there interaction have been very awkward with Ms Pech, for example she would try to drag people in her office and ask for help with certain things with the most awkward and weird smile . I would say I was busy and she would smile and keep encouraging me to come a volunteer after several verbal command that they are not interested . Take note that the military is very demanding and some if not all military members are very busy during a deployment and no one wants to be ask to give more of there time during there free time. Every interaction I’ve had with her she Was always smiling. When I first met her I was telling her about my horrible work day and the whole time she was smiling and I felt that she was not even listening to me or taking the conversation seriously. Smiling while I spill my feelings out is no way to communicate to a soldier when he or she is confiding in you or at least sharing there feelings. Some of the volunteers were asked to make a Star Wars poster for the upcoming USO show which Pech specified was to be a Star Wars themed poster. Following the completion of the art work she stated to the volunteers that it can’t be Star Wars themed. We all were upset and ask what are we supposed to do with the posters and she simply replied “you can have them”. When I asked if we could have a VIP vouchers for the Red Cross volunteers helping with the event Pech replied “ only officers are VIP’s are allowed” . others within my unit and those of other units I am told most people avoid her at all cost for merely seeing her “psychotic evil fake smile” as someone described to me . It’s very frustrating when you talk to someone and all they do smile at you and nod there head. On multiple occasion I have observed in conversation Pech takes and respond to high officials and officers with more respect and when addressing enlisted people it’s the opposite. I feel she uses the us a grunt work. Never have I observed any of our officers volunteers perform any grunt work such as help prepare for ceremonies or activities. Any time she needs anything done she always asks the enlisted guys and never asks the officers. For a lady in a team position severely lacks the communication skills to be a leader or in general give out clear and concise instructions. With this I ask that you take full consideration and that this individual be put in a position with minimal military interaction. Clearly she does not have the heart or the inclination to serve the military community.

Desired outcome: Moved out of position

American Red Cross Political signs on Red Cross vehicle

Tuesday, March 15, 2022

A Red Cross trailer has been parked at Harbor Cove Marina in

Fort Pierce just over the bridge on south Hutchinson Island.

It flies three flags, the topmost of which is a political flag for

Trump and DeSantis. It has been there for months.

The Red Cross has non-profit status and enjoys tax-exemptions.

As such, it must be non-political, both in fact and in appearance.

It doesn’t matter if the trailer is not in use or even if it no longer

belongs to the Red Cross. It is in full view of thousands of

people every day in a public space and clearly marked like your vehicles.

Please resolve this situation and protect your reputation.

Desired outcome: Remove the political flags or paint over the red cross if it is your trailer. If it is not your trailer, have the owner so do, voluntarily or by legal means.

American Red Cross Not being helped after being a victim of a house fire

On January 21, 2022 between the hours of 4 a.m & 5 a.m at 5114 W. 14th St. Little Rock AR. 72204, A fire started in the attic in the home i lived in with friends. We did manage to get everyone to safety, 6 adults and 2 children that occupy the residence. In all the confusion and nervousness my main concern was making sure everyone was moved to a safe location and out of the cold. I made sure that the owners of the house were taken care of first, I don't understand the confusion on when i choiced to file a claim with Red Cross. I lost everything I had in the fire, now their is some confusion on whether I lived their or not. I moved into the residents on December 15, 2020. I left for work on June 12, 2021 for work in Massachusetts, but still a resident of the home. I returned on December 26, 2021 for being layed off for the winter, So when I decided to finally file a claim it seemed suspicious to Mr. T Luckenbach who made me feel like I was lying about even being in the fire or living at 5114 W 14th St. I called on January 27th, 2022 NO ONE CALLED ME BACK. I had to call back the next morning only to wait for hours for Mr. Luckenbach to return a phone call to be called a liar. That call took place on January 28th 2022, IT IS NOW JANUARY 30TH 2022 AND NO ONE HAS RETURNED MY CALL OR GIVEN ME ANY KIND OF ASSITANCE. Red Cross motto is we leave no one out but instead i was accused of fabricating a story. I ask you is this the way The Red Cross treats victims of a fire who lost drivers license birth certificates SS cards pictures clothes?

Desired outcome: I would like to be helped I would like some assitances from the Red Cross.

American Red Cross Worker causing disturbances at hotel.

Hi, My name is Allison Capps, general manager of the Days Inn Kuttawa Ky.
We recently had a worker of yours staying with us. the guest's name was Diane L. Jones., Ms. Jones had become a public nuisance to guest and employees, on multiple occasions, ranging from walking through a crowded breakfast area cursing someone on the phone, to being rude and hateful to front desk staff before this incident. (Found out later, that it was a different red cross worker staying at our hotel whom she was saying the "f" word to repeatedly in front of children and other guest) We then had an incident with a housekeeper quitting and leaving crying, because of this guest cursing and degrading my employee. I informed Ms. Jones that She had to treat the staff with respect, or she would need to find somewhere else to stay. Her erratic behavior continued to escalate. I told Ms Jones she needed to find lodging somewhere else. My next step was to Call the police to remove her. She since has filed a complaint with our corporate offices. I hope this guest does not represent your workers, or company's ethics.

American Red Cross Blood products donations

I donated whole blood on 10/4. On 10/27 I donated platelets. I have received a number of requests in between donations to keep donating because the need is so great. They couldn't wait to sign me up after the second donation. And yet... They will not give up on the stupid conspiratorial mask mandate which might yield more donors because people are tired of the stupid nonsense! If you need blood products so bad, maybe you need to rethink the idiot mask sham. Ever look at the box the masks come in? It specifically states that it will not protect from expelling or receiving droplets between people. Further, that it will not protect against infection or passing viruses between people. All you are doing is making sensible donors uncomfortable and all your idiots in charge can come up with is "if the mask wearing makes you uncomfortable then don't give until they are not required". When do you think that will happen, idiots? We have been 19 months doing the two weeks to flatten the curve. There is no end in sight until everyone stops obeying! Do you want to save lives or not? Do you want to be like hospitals who are refusing the unvaccinated? Will my blood go to someone who will later be my persecuter? How many months will it take to wake up?

Desired outcome: Get rid mask requirement. More proof they DON'T WORK than that they do!!

I am a former Army enlisted retired Army officer. I have been extensively trained in Nuclear, Biological, Chemical operations (NBC - Now CBRN), I was a certified safety officer (29 CFR) as well as a certified shipper of Hazardous materials to include explosives (49 CFR). Though my certifications are expired I have not lost the experiences or the education. This complainant is correct in ALL of his/her assessments. Viruses are so small they could not possibly be stopped by a mask. In fact, the military gas masks (protective masks) cannot stop viruses. Further, as a safety inspector I was required to inspect all motorpools for all personnel that had been medically tested to use toolroom respirators that filer paint overspray (the kind you can buy at Walmart) even though the gasmask places more of strain on the lungs than the toolroom respirators but I had to see the testing. why am I saying this? because a virus will not be stopped by a mask that is designed to save soldiers on battle field it most certainly will not be stopped by a cloth masked that will be used over and over (without being washed). In fact, as a safety officer (at that time) I would have recommend to stop wearing masks for COVID because it enhances the chances of getting sick by the wearer. Nearly all OSHA certified areas are aware of this yet here we are still expecting people to place themselves in danger by wearing the mask for the sole purpose of "SAFETY". So again, I ask what is more important, getting much needed blood or playing games with masks that are not only putting the wearer in danger by those that need blood in danger by not getting the NEEDED BLOOD!

American Red Cross Red Cross worker

Liz Hough is a Red Cross worker in South Carolina, and while I believe everyone is entitled to their opinions on the vacinne, but as a red cross worker wouldn't it be mandated to have a vaccine, or at the very least not to convince other people not to get the vaccine. I lost serveral people from the virus and it really is upsetting to see someone trying to convince others not to get the vaccine. Doesn't this go against the red cross believes and tips, maybe looking at her facebook page on some of the post she makes. I know some of them were removed. She's promoted the president as a [censored] and said the Ga election was stolen. I don't think that is a good reflection on the American Red Cross.

Desired outcome: She needs to be careful on social media

Hurrah for Liz Hough! Boo for you! Since you are ignorant and unaware, a recent US News Report:
COVID-19 is the seventh leading cause of death in the United States in June 2021, with an average of 342 deaths a day.

Heart disease was again the leading cause of death (2, 101 per day) in June, with the others being cancer (1, 614), accidents (474), stroke (451), chronic lower respiratory disease (377) and Alzheimer's disease (351), according to the report.

So while you are cringing in the corner from a virus that initially was 98% survivable, is even more survivable now.

If you had ANY common sense whatsoever, i.t would behoove you to take note of the loss of freedoms in the US, the "destabilizing" of beliefs in children by school indoctrination about their race and gender, teaching children to hate one another or if they are white to hate themselves, to hate Christians, to distrust their parents, to deny all history, to be submissive to government rule. You would do well to note the unrest in the middle east. You would take note of Americans left in Afghanistan, of the surge of illegals across the border bringing more Covid, HIV and measles. Take note of the increase in gas prices and all other consumables. inflatlion is at a 30 year high because of irrational uncontrolled spending; CAN YOU JUST RAISE YOUR DEBT LIMIT? None of these problems were going on until Biden took over and wrote how many executive orders has Bozo signed? 126! Bozo said this was the tool of a tyrant! If you listen to Bozo speak, only a demented sociopath could understand. Are you a demented sociopath?

American Red Cross Blood Drawing

On September 1 5, 2021 at Concord Community Center I did an appointment at 3:00 pm. in the 40 years I have given blood (11 gallons) I was never more insulted in all my life. I was treated by the individual in charge as a lowly person. Besides taking my blood and it spewing out like a water fountain when needle removed all over my clothes and on my skin on arms. Her license on car was kvg201 5 when she took a break I looked.

Desired outcome: What can you do to revoke what happened?? huh... what send me an Amazon card? lol

American Red Cross Unethical comment

August 16th, 2021

Let me start by saying the company said nothing about needing experience, or a certification in phlebotomy, and that there was paid training. No one mention anything about how they don't teach phlebotomy though. 6-7 wks of training and nothing is phlebotomy?

Today I had an interview for the Entry Level Phlebotomist position, in Fairfax, VA and although the interview itself wasn't bad I was shook by some of the things the manager said.

The comment the hiring manager said (Mr. Garrick Robbins) was something along the lines of "I dont care if your cat is sick and you have to take him to the vet, the instructor wont play catch up with you if you miss class." Now this is understandable in terms of a classroom operation. I went to college I know how it works. This manager made it out to seem like the only thing that mattered was drawing blood (which as a phlebotomist is understandable) but when you act like that's all that matters its not okay. He had a very "be on time" mentality (which again nothing wrong with that.)

My problem is when you combine the three together. You have an individual who openly remarked about not giving a [censored] if your pet is sick, expects you to be on time, and really only gives a [censored] about getting blood. So how am I to feel if : A) I have to miss work, or come in late because my dog is severely ill or near death. He obviously expressed he doesn't care he just wants me here to draw blood, or B) I go into work because I dont wanna be late, and risk losing my job, but then I get a call saying "I'm sorry but your dog is dead because of some illness." That I couldnt get checked out because I'm not allowed to take my dog to the vet to keep my job. Now my wellbeing and wellfare isnt good because I'm emotionally unstable that my dog died, and that isnt the mission of the American Red Cross.

This is a Humanitarian Orginization, and to know that blood more important than the life of a pet is absolutely disgusting. A pet is a living creature just like us. Their lives are just as important as ours.

American Red Cross Disaster Relef Services

I was never sent a card for assistance when the house fire happens at my house in May of this year. I called to enquire about it again today and flatly told out that they refuse to send me any help because the house fire happened three months ago. I never received any assistance. I made a complaint with the national agency and so I was also told to make one here and online. I still need the assistance that I was promised in May.

American Red Cross platelet donation

I am a platelet donor who moved here from Colorado and would like to continue to donate platelets. However the Red Cross removed all of the up, current to date aphersis machines (which use a single arm and takes approx. 1 1/2 hours) and replaced them with the old style, double arms and taking 3 hours, also increasing a donors risk of infection (using two arms). Due to the usage of out of date machines you have lost a platelet donor who donated every two weeks. I would like to continue to donate platelets using current technology. Why were the proper machines taken away and replaced with old machinery. Is that how much they think of donors? Increasing their risk of infection and wasting a donor's time by 1 1/2 hours.
Please explain
Thank you
Beatrice Link

Desired outcome: Usage of current technology

American Red Cross Sign up sheets at blood donation sites

I want complain about the sign up lists at blood drives. I signed up for a 1pm appointment 56/57 days ago in Belle Plaine Mn. When I arrived today I was told there was no appointment for me. This has happened twice to myself now and its very frustrating. Luckily I was able to give 30 minutes after getting there, the staff was very nice and helpful. I just want to try and eliminate the confusion created with these sign up lists that we are encouraged to sign up on after giving blood. Who is responsible for entering our information? I will no longer sign up at a drive and will go on line to schedule my appointments.

American Red Cross Tried to donate, we were turned away because we were 8 minutes late

My daughter and I got lost when trying to park for our 4:00pm appointment. There were zero directional signs on the campus and we were not sure where to park. We arrived inside the facility at 4:08. They turned us away and said they only have to wait 5 minutes. We had our Rapid Pass and forms filled out before arriving. This supposedly saves 15 minutes, but again, they said no. This was my daughter's first time donating and it was a terrible experience. The woman at the desk was on her phone and didn't even put it down to talk to us. She just said it's too late. Really? 8 minutes? I thought there was a critical need for blood? Very disappointing.

This is crazy, I had a similar situation today where the donations were happening at a local community college. Parking was difficult and there were no signs to direct donors where to go. I was 10 minutes late as a result but thankfully they did not turn me away. It seems like they would accept you given the shortage of blood. Hopefully someone will see this and fix the signage and parking issues as well as make accommodations for the situation in the future. What a waste of your time.
