AMP Security Home alarm

My name is Victor Guye - 11470 Carson Lake Drive - Jacksonville FL 32221

Signed up with AMP [protected] smart home security in March of 2019 with the understanding that this was a three year equipment contract and all equipment will be paid off in three years. the price was decrease after the equipment was paid off. I call to cancel and they quoted a pay off of 1600 dollars. I was willing to pay a reasonable charge since I have not used the service since October of 2021. AMP smart was the worst decision I made the

door cameral we out 5 time and Fire alarm stopped working and it took 6 weeks for the company to finally send another one after several phone calls. Whenever calling after work there was never anyone to answer after 8 PM or on weekend. AMP smart is a 9 to 5 alarm company and my families safety is more important than that.

Desired outcome: To end this relationship with AMP smart [protected]

AMP Security Unethical behavior and misleading business practices

I am submitting this complaint on behalf of my other.

Last fall my mother, an elderly senior citizen living alone, was informed that an AMP technician would contact her to schedule installation of upgraded equipment.

When the technician installed the equipment he had her sign what she understood was confirmation that the installation was done. The multi-page document was long and in typical "small print" which - unbeknownst to my other - included an extension of the service agreement for another FIVE (5) YEARS.

My mother had absolutely no intention of extending her service agreement, and the technician did NOT explain that the installation of new equipment included a 5 year service agreement commitment.

This past month I helped her write a letter to AMP Security in Utah requesting termination of service at the end of her current service period (around the end of May 2020 as I recall). This past week she received a response from AMP Security stating that she must continue to pay for service for another 5 years, and if she has the equipment removed and does not pay then AMP Security will pass her account over to a collections agency.

This is unreasonable and unethical behavior at best and appears to have taken advantage of a senior citizen who clearly did not understand at the time, and who was not fairly informed of, the conditions of the new equipment installation agreement.

We seek termination of her service agreement no later than May 2020 - the end of her initial 5 year obligation - and acknowledgement by AMP Security that no further obligation of service or payment exists.

AMP Security equipment will be available for pickup NLT 20 March 2020 and will be kept at her residence until such time as AMP Security chooses to accept the equipment or notifies her that she may dispose of it without financial obligation or penalty.

AMP Security Faulty equipment / horrible customer service

I have switched from ADT to AMP thinking that this system would be a better fit for me. I tell you, you guys have great sales reps which have been the only good thing I have ran across with this company. I was initially told my downstairs would have coverage on each of the windows, which peaked my interest. The back of my house is easily accessible from the ground and also does not have any light so that would be a very easy area for a burglar to get in through. So when the sales rep stated I would be provided with more window protection I was happy with the extra benefit. I was also provided with the battery operated dead bolt lock, which is a convenience for me since I am often times out of town. It makes it easier for my mom to have access to the house just incase she cannot find her spare key. Initially it was installed with used batteries and stopped working in a matter of two weeks which prompted a jammed notification which is no biggie but a minor inconvenience. Several times before trying to arm and disarm when I was away prompted a busy signal. When I called in the agent stated that I may be too far away. Isn’t that supposed to be the point of this feature? Being able to operate the system from my phone because I am away? Within several weeks later my back door alarm was tripped multiple times due to the door monitor needed to be changed and was repaired by another worker. Now my panel does not read from any type of computer whether cell-phone, desktop or laptop. What is the point in paying double for a system that has not worked properly since I have had it installed? The money obviously is not the issues because I want my home protected, but ADT is by far the better company NEVER having any issues with the system nor service. I want my system fixed properly or my contract to end so that I can find another company that will honor their own contract properly without faulty equipment. [protected]@yahoo.com
