Sent a parcel on 12th October from Australia, reached Ireland about a week later, cost me $95.00 to post Yesterday I get the parcel back, Yesterday the 6th of December, because it failed electronic customs- so open it for gods sake, look at it, all legit, now I have wasted hundreds of dollars on Xmas presents family haven't got, clothes the kids will outgrow before they even receive them. What a pathetic excuse of a service. I have parcels to and from Ireland for over 30 years and this is only the second time I have had a major stuff up, but boy am I angry! (AND WAS CORRECTLY ADDRESSED!)
Claimed loss: $200.00 - please note not even working due to stroke and this is what you do!!!
Desired outcome: I want my parcel delivered, pay for postage again or organise a courier to take it, I don't care how but get it there, for Xmas

A customs charge of 16.89 euro for a package with a value of £7.50.
My daughter Katie paid the charge as it was a gift of 3 pairs of football socks for my 8 yr old grandson and he was very upset.

Card posted on 2nd May 2023 with cheque for wedding present that never arrived.
I posted a card with a cheque to my niece on 2nd May 2023 and it never arrived it was posted in the post box on Quinns Road, Shankill.
I went to the Post Office in Shankill approximately 4 weeks later and received a complaint form which I filled out and handed into the post office in Dundrum.
I expected to hear that it had been received but no contact has been made.

Desired outcome: When I went to Shankill Post Office and explained what I required and the reason the lady behind the counter said "not another one" she had given out several in the last few weeks.
Orders are never delivered
I order quite a lot of things online and most of them are shipped via anpost. I live in an apartment on the 3rd floor and anpost delivery person always leaves a missed delivery note by the mailboxes for my orders stating the reason - "No one was available at the address". Me and my husband work from home and we're always present at the address, they don't bother giving me a call to let me know they are here so that I can go downstairs to collect the order, nor do they come upstairs. Am I supposed to stand outside of my apartment building whole day waiting for the order. Everytime I have to ask them to redeliver, this time they did the same for redelivery as well. I don't understand why are they doing this. The collection center is around 5kms from my place and it's not possible for me to go collect my order during my work hours. Please help me resolve this.

Post lady delivered 2 letters today June 8th 2023. both of which envelopes had hand written notes on them, SAYING
PLEASE RE-DIRECT
DELEVERED TO WRONG ADDRESS.
One of these letters was a form I needed to fill in for a hospital and send back before May 25th for an appointment, or I would be taken off the waiting list.
The service here is really bad since the local post man retired, There was a local temporary post man on who was also very good. None of the many other temporary post people seem to know the area or remember the names of who lives where. I contacted the head office last year about this an said the post code was on the letter, an was told the post code had nothing to do with on post. I attend 3 different hospitals in Cork an need to receive my appointments on time.
I'm hoping this problem will be sorted soon. If there was a permanent post person appointed it would definitely help this situation. Thanking you

Express next day delivery takes 7 days

I sent an urgent package, containing Bridal wedding shoes & accessories on 26/10 for a wedding on 29/10. Explained it was of utmost importance to the cashier at the post office, I paid for Express Nex Day delivery, and was assured it would arrive the following day.
This was not the case.
The package did not arrive to the local Portlaoise mail centre until the 28/10.
At which point we had been in contact with An Post numerous times to see about us collecting the package ourselves as it was 20 mins from the delivery address, and it was the morning of the wedding.
An Post said the item was out for delivery and if it was not delivered, there may be a possibility to for us to collect.
Then An Post sent our package to a Dublin mail centre, making it impossible to retrieve.
The Wedding shoes and accessories were finally delivered on 01/11, 5 days after the wedding.
To say that this situation led to an enormous amount of stress for the bride and her family is an understatement. As a result of the failing by An Post the Bride, did not have shoes, earrings or her hair piece., which understandable she was distraught about, and she had to borrow used shoes and could not wear her veil as it was incomplete without the contents of the undelivered package.
I'm aware An Post are having staffing issues, and this massive failing was not directly any one single person's fault, but it was also not the fault of the brides, who, was the only person who was tremendously affected by the situation. We paid An Post in good faith for a service, which was not provided.
I think reburnishing all postage costs, in addition to a token compensation gesture from An Post is a fair request.

This service was requested with an effective date from 24th September to October 15th. We paid €14 on 22/9 to avail of this service while we were away for 3 weeks. On our return to our house, we were dismayed to find 7 letters in our post-box. The letters were dated Sept 23rd and 26th and Sept 29th. As the service did not end until Saturday Oct 15th how could these letters have been in our post-box. Our belief is that we paid for a service that An Post did NOT provide.
We phoned An Post and spoke with a guy called Alex who told us to complete an M58 form and to contact the sorting office in Malahide as it was their issue and not his. The M58 form does not deal with our query, and we were unable to make contact with Malahide Sorting Office. To date we are still unsure whether all our mail from Sept 24 to Oct 15th has been delivered to our home
The level of customer service in response to our query leaves a lot to be desired and leaves us wondering why we paid €14 for a non-existent service. We would be grateful if this matter could be investigated.

I have been sending parcels to my daughter, now grandchildren as well, in Ireland for for twenty years with no problem. Lately, however, I have had two ordinary parcels mailed on June 6th of this year, one merely a magazine, returned to my address in Canada, having been rejected by electronic customs clearance. One package was returned yesterday, the other, today July 20. The difference from previous mailings possibly was that these two parcels were sent in Canada Post issue bubble wrap packages. Could there be a problem with the packaging and your electronic equipment? There is no date stamp that I can find to indicate when the parcels were examined in Ireland.
I liked it better when you opened the parcels and had a look.

Hi, this is less of a complaint and rather an enquiry. The tracking of the parcel with the above tracking number shows "Delivered on 23. February at 10:43". Well, as I have just been released from a long hospital stay, I am at home all day and NOTHING arrived yesterday. As I need this item rather urgently I would like to kinow how it was delivered. I checked all the external window sills, the garden shed (where my postman knows he can leave large parcels when I am not at home), and even the garden wall where couriers sometime throw the parcels, but have not found anything at all. MONEY STOLEN OFF REGISTERED MAIL
I sent a registerd mail containig cash which i declared to Anpost- Ireland post office but the cash enclosed was stolen and an empty mail delivered. Please all beware. I have filled an official complaint with An post. Yet to hear from them but I will not rest until my hard earned cash is returned to me.
They should run criminal records and scrutinise/supervise their staff. Can anybody advise me on the best way to tackle this problem.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
