On 18 November 2023, around 2 pm, I have visited Anantara Spa at Eastern Mangroves Hotel in the UAE but had to leave the spa within few minutes without getting the services. I wasn't comfortable with the therapist who has been assigned to me and I asked for another therapist, who was also free, but the spa attendant (her name is Ibtisam) refused to change therapist, and literally said that 'customers in Anantra do not have choice', and have to accept any therapist who is being presented to them. She further said that the customer does not have to see the therapist or look at the therapist during the session! Furthermore, the spa attendant refused to refund the money that has been charged to me for the services I didn't get, or guide me on the process for refund - daylight robbery! Ibtisam seemed very reluctant, rude and offensive, when I said that I will raise a complaint in respect of this matter. So far, I haven't been able to refund my money. Horrible experience and I will not visit this spa again as long as this spa attendant is there. Worst staff I have ever seen in any spa. I will never recommend this spa to anyone at all.
Still waiting for Anantra management to take an action and refund my money back.
