Aramark Uniform Services interviewing process

Applied for a job on line in November with a compnay call Aramark; a phone interview in December was schedule, the description for what they are looking for describe me and my many years in the Call Center environment. “The perfect job”; Schedule a face to face interview 1st week of December, with the hiring manager; Received a third call in the middle week of December to be interviews with 5 individual within the company.

First week of January a request for references. On January 6, 2011 the job has been reposted on Job Circle; Very disappointed, no phone call that I did not get the job nor an email “Thank you but we decided to go with someone else”

The process of interviewing for a job has gotten so complicated it is no wonder people don’t bother looking for work. You take days off to attend the face to face interview, utilizing your vacation or sick time, only to find out you don’t get the job and you no longer have any time left to attend a vacation with the kids or help your parents when they are sick. And at the end all you ask is a notification whether you got the job or not!

The leadership ( BRIAN MARSH) of a contract company named ARAMARK in Williamsport PA, treats employees harshly and unfairly particularly when any employee challenges his opinion or requests clarity of work assigned. He is arrogant and will not speak to employees even months later when they have asked for clarity of tasks assigned. As a former employee this has scared me and should be looked into

Aramark Uniform Services Harrased by Ana Ruiz

I worked at the Q Center for Aramark as a custodial worker for 16 years. Until a new manager took the place of our old manager this year. Her name is Ana Ruiz. She never liked me, from the beginning, so the minute she became my boss, she harrased me infront of everyone. I told this to the human resources there, Barbara, she didn’t blink once and didn’t care.
They treat several other employees horribly there and no one listens.
I had no choice but to quit. Daily I was being harrased & belittled by Ana Ruiz, she is a horrible person and Aramark did nothing. How can they allow a manager to act this way? It is un-professional. It was literally like being in grade school and being bullied. She is not professional at all!
I hope something is done. Thank you for listening.

I am being harassed and bullied at my job by my Director and my Custodial Director here at U Penn. I have reached out on two different occasions to my General Manager on campus who refuses to care or do anything about the situation since April 2022. When I brought it up to him for the 2nd and last time, he told me that I don't have the right skin for the job and that this probably wasn't the right place for me. Unbelievable. Aramark makes you watch all these videos on how good and caring their company is but the minute you start getting harassed, leadership will dismiss all your concerns, and the HR department will drag their feet. I reached out to HR on June 30th. No one called me back. Then I reached out to HR again on July 15th after my vindictive Director took my incentive bonus which I worked very hard for. I have provided evidence of harassment and work place bullying, yet a month later, still nothing has been resolved. With no uncertainty of my job, I had an abortion on July 15th & lost my child through all of this. I am not eating or sleeping. My anxiety is through the roof. No one cares. I refuse to quit and give them what they want. I need help

yes i go through the same thing i have reported my harassment and nothing gets done a verbal warning and then things just get worse ARAMARK DOES NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR EMPLOYEES JUST THEIR MONEY AND PRODUCTION

Aramark Uniform Services Fluctuating invoices due to driver error

Invoices from this company are always fluctuating from original pricing set forth. Specially being a national account the invoice should be straight forward and clear. After speaking with a manager he agreed and said it would be corrected first week goes by and its ok. Second week comes around and back on the same boat. Phone calls are very time consuming and are a waste of time really because its so complicated to actually get a manger on the phone.
Needless to say drivers get paid on comission so you have to watch your invoices or they'll try and sneek some extra things in there. Managers need to step up to the plate and manage these drivers.
We all have to get paid but how about going about it a more honest way rather than cheating a loyal customer? Doesnt seem to much to ask to me...
Months have gone by with the same problem gets corrected for a short time and back on the thieving game with this company.

I worked there for 15 years and if you read the agreement it states that you are not charged to upgrade your uniform through normal wear and tear. We CHARGE set up charges on everything. We do 4 price increases a year and if any of the price increase don't go through one one of the customers they that the amount of that price increase and place it on another one. Now that we are public all they are worried about it the stock closing price. We have to hit our daily goals of 28% ruin or you get audited when you complete the 12-14 hour day in the heat. This means before you unload your truck a manager gets on there and make you go through the dirt clothes and identify damage and charge it on next weeks bill. We have a piece budget that tells us how many replacement garments you can order a week. They use this to help with Aramark's cost. So that means if I get 45 new garments a week I can order and a guy on my Monday needs new sizes and he has 13 shirts and pants this is 26 garment dedicated from my budget of 45. So if your my customer on wed-fri I can't order for you. If I do the managers will delete them and won't tell us. So for weeks I think the garment is ordered and it's not. If they delete a 1 or 2 short order and I have the return garments (the old ones) and I turn those in that day. If he deletes the order now you are short garments. Then guess what we do. That's right...I charge you for lost garments. This is why I quit. I made over 100k the past 3 years and it because I abused the [censor] out of my customers. There are even manager who have gotten fired because I used our "friendship" to get them to sign a renewal with verbiage saying I can price [censor] the [censor] out of them. It is a crooked company and I drank the koolaid.

This hotline is a total joke, you people donot address any issues, all you do is screen complaints and protect management!
Management here in newport news Virginia newport news shipbuilding is so disrespectful and out of hand, eemployees are talked down to and belittled, on a daily bases and something needs to be done yesterday! !

As a former employee of ARAMARK UNIFORM SERVICES, they as a company should be investigated for theft practices. Management makes sure they keep their hands clean while pressuring the route sales reps (RSR's) to do the "dirty" work for them. If you don't cut the mustard, you basically go aweay. Worked in the bay area for six years and never a complaint since I made them lots and lots of money. Moved to the central CA region for personal reasons and transferred locations. Not a smooth transition at all! Then I saw managers changing signed contracts, ordered to give customer only 35% of their invoice and saw managers as well as RSR's signing invoices. That's not to mention L&R practices of the company by charging a customer for loss or damaged items for items that were NOT damaged or LOST. Once upon a time, if you had a 10% L&R rating, you were questioned why it was so high. NOW... An RSR is expected to have and maintain a 17% L&R rating or he is subject to review and ctitism. THIS IS NO JOKE! ARAMARK, per contract is entitled to one price increase a year... But they issue out at least six a year and most are too busy to send in a certified letter refusing the price increase. This is legalized THEFT... GRAND THEFT in the larger picture by millions.. I copied this but it's same way I'm Washington we have to make a quota in a week how much L&R on we have to get

I have easycare insurance and still have to pay to have my uniforms fixed. I have no name tags and they send replacement clothes, USED, with tag holes in the shirts. I am supposed to wear that. NOT HAPPY AT ALL!

It all comes down to the Driver (RSR) and his or her district manager ...get some good ones and they will make it work for you no matter what...get some lazy or greedy ones and these statment become sadly true ...I ve worked with Aramark for seven years now and I love my customers and my company, but I will admit its a balancing act with me in the middle. On the one hand is PROFIT and one the other is VALUE for the customer . You must have both ...I allways say if a customer is smiling and writing you a check its good bussiness ...and there is a way to make that happen but it takes the right person or persons...so vet your RSR and DM carefully before you sign the contract you are buying them as much as the product...

They are horrible! I cannot believe a company of multi billion assets spends time and resources to fleece the small business owner. It has been an absolute nightmare to get out of one of their service agreements -- for floor mats of all things! Totally un-American. Makes me sick. Dealing with a $3, 000 breach of contract invoice -- please -- buyer beware -- do not sign a service agreement with them -- it has a 5 year auto renewal -- written into the fine print--as if a legal team is there signing one of their contracts. Awful.

Aramark now expects route drivers to get a minimum of 23% of thier route rental volume in loss & ruin charges. That means if the rental volume of the route is $10, 000 a week then the driver is expected to charge $2300 worth of damaged and lost items on that route EVERY SINGLE WEEK, WEEK IN AND WEEK OUT. it has absolutely gotten out of control. Now if the drivers don't hit that number then we are punished by not being able to come in until late in the afternoon which then makes our work days around 14 hours a day which Aramark doesn't care since we aren't paid hourly. They will tell the drivers to not fabricate the charges but that we must hit a certain number. That contradicts itself. If its not there, then its not there. I have seen some of the most unethical things happening to customers in my 12 years working here. This is just a drop in the bucket. I could go on for hours...but i have to go to sleep after working a 14 hour day.

The problem with the price changes is not your route driver. You have no idea how much grief your driver catches for arguing to keep you prices where they are. It is Aramark that is constantly raising prices then dragging their feet when a customer refuses the increase. You should be thankful for your route driver. He is the one that puts up with your c*** when your employees lose or ruin a pant or shirt and lies to blame the uniform company. Some prices are not high enough as far as I am concerned. If you want your uniforms delivered to the 2nd or 3rd floor you should pay a higher price for the route driver having to make the trips up and down the stairs. That stuff isn't exactly light. Have you ever looked past your arrogance and thought " hey we should make it a little easier for him"?

The problem is times are getting harder. It is no longer feasible to pay high prices for a laundering service when it can be done cheaper to do yourself. I am trying to cut down on expenses. Its not worth it to me to pay a over a hundred dollars a week to clean a couple rugs and launder some towels. Five year contracts are too long. I want out of my contract to safe some cost to me and my customers. ARAMARK won't let me out of the contract without paying $4500. I can buy better rugs and all the towels I need for $500 (same as one month or Aramark service). So I don't understand what "investment" they are protecting for so much on my few items. It is a rule of free trade that if a company can't deliver value for a reasonable price then they should go out of business and disappear. Aramark needs to deliver better and keep their customers through satisfaction, not trapping then in long contracts where they have no choices or power. Aramark is a fake, because they only persist through litigation, not value. If they can't meet the needs of the times, then they should disappear.

Aramark Uniform Services raw sewage under the courtyard cafe

i was the maintenence supervisor at the mckinley chalets for 2 years, i left this position for many reasons, inept management the general manager is from new zealand and got his job the same way he got his u.s. citizenship, married into it, i watched this guy ruin a beautiful property in the alaska tundra in less than 6 months, when i say ruin i mean trainwreck, for starters the property has over 600 rooms because of "budget" issues the waste water treatment plant is always last on the list for any repairs or upgrades, so the plant has not worked properly in about 10 years, aramark learned to pay the fine instead of fixing an enviromental issue for the last 8 years, as well as leaving untreated sewage under 2 dining establishments, over 10 inches deep being contained within in the foundation, basically both buildings are acting as sewage holding tanks, since the temperature drops to 40 below the sewage freezes solid and is left until the next spring season, and since it is so disgusting when it thaws out nobody will go clean it up, i personally had to fire 2 people for not cleaning it up, i was dissmissed for insubordinaton because i couldnt get any help to clean up the mess, or support from upper management because it would show the lack of intelligence it takes to run a hotel, and cut into aramarks bottom line for the shareholders, so in closing i ask that anybody that went to the aramark property in [protected], please complain about the smell of sewage you experienced in the courtyard cafe and cabin nite

Aramark Uniform Services harassment

I work for Aramark in Milwaukee Wi, and we have made complaints to corporate about harassment by the chef. We talked to the manager so many times that we are tired. He talks really mean to us, he acuse workers of using drugs when they dont do drugs, he call us stupid, he talk badly about a workers sexual orientation. He intimidate us by saying if with dont do what he say we are going to get fired. It is to much already, we dont know what to do. The manager says that he cant do anything because his hands are tided and he is waiting on corporate.

the women there have stole my production papers forged my initials put my garments in the wrong spot moved my time card give me dirty looks spread rumors about me and literally bump into me and watch my every move i constantly watching myself and personal items and currently take medication for my stress and anxiety i have reported it to my supervisor union rep and plant mgmt and NOTHING gets done about it i i have seen them do this before to others and again nothing was done about it nothing

I work at aramark and I get harassed by the employees and nothing gets done about it nothing they don't get written up just verbally told which makes it worse all that matters is putting out production it as though they support bulling/harassment it is a shame that people have to go to work and put up with this mess just to be able to provide an honest living for themselves and families

Aramark Uniform Services what a ripoff they are

I was just this weekend at the Wango Tango Concert in Irvine California and the company Aramark that runs the concession stands. What a rip-off they are.. I remember last year when Centerplate ran the place, they were very generous with their portions of food, etc.
We go this weekend to a concert and order Chicken Fingers.. Ok, for $8.50 you get 2 CHICKEN FINGERS and a handful of FRIES.. Can you believe that..
You can see the the windows how dirty the stand was. The poeple running it were very nice and apologentic about the situatoin but were forced to follow the rules..

Most likely no one unless they work for or have a vested interest in the business.

Aramark Uniform Services running business into the ground

I just wanted to point out how Aramark ran a perfectly good gas station and RV park into the ground. The Chevron in Healy is the only place for public showers and laundry within fifty miles. Aramark never fixed anything, price gouged local patrons, and promptly ran off any and all busniess they could to post a loss to get out of a contract. There is a reason the gas was $5.69 a gallon when the nearest competitor a mile away was $4.99. As of today, $4.21 here and $2.99 a mile north. Good busniess! Have a $7 bag of cheetos and wash it down with $6 Odwalla. I now see why everyone hates them! By the way, I am an ex employee who got to see their selective random drug tests, firing people to save bonuses, managers stealing the company blind, and a management that is so grossly inept I am almost ashamed to list them on my resume.

I witnessed their fantastic service in the Glacier Bay Lodge.
When I reported there were fleas in my bed, they told me I was mistaken since fleas are not native to Alaska.

Doh! I know a flea when I see it, and I didn't pay the premium price I was paying to get a bed infested with fleas.

Aramark Uniform Services disgusting service!

I have personally watched Aramark employees that work in the kitchen of schools, dropping food and picking it back up and not even cleaning it and serving it. I have witnessed milk being returned half empty, and put into other containers and resold. I have witnessed workers sneezing on hamburgers before wrapping them for sale. I have even watched as a bug crawled on a piece of food and was squashed and the food still served. Aramark is disgusting. They should be fined and put out of business. There are so many complaints about this company.

They are gross.

I work at one of the companies under the United Health Group -- Ingenix (in Basking Ridge, NJ). The Kitchen / Cafeteria is managed by the Aramark company. The Manager that runs the cafeteria is really RACIST. I feel so helpless! Who can I complain about something like this? When my other "white" coworker go in the cafeteria they get charged LESS than what we do plus they get a smile! This lady always looks down at us and always FROWNING at us. I don't care if she smiles or not -- that's her business. But when she starts charging me for MILK (for coffee) where it's FREE for the others, I take an issue with that !

Unfortunately, we have NO ONE in this company who can take complaints for things like this. And if the Manager of the Caferia is teaching the decriminative acts to her other employees -- we get the same treatment from other employees from this cafe. I'd always HEARD about racisim but now unfortunately, I'm starting understand it very well.

Aramark Uniform Services rip off service

Service giant aramark, and william penn aware of dangers but ignoring them due to cost.

I was recently forced to resign my duties as the maintenance manager at the william penn school district, employed by aramark services because I pointed out many faults in the schools that were a danger to the children as well as workers. I have written many letters to dana bedden, the superintendent, as well as joe otto, the ceo, and dr greenfield, the asst ceo, but all have gone unanswered. I have written letters to the school board, but they have simply stated that they will check into the situation, but I feel that many of these items should not be delayed.

Workers are forced to work out of a quarry street location that was flooded by hurricane floyd years ago, and again as recently as a few weeks ago, with mold still obvious on the walls, as well as electrical wires hanging, floors missing, pigeons making a nest on three floors, and pipes broken. Former mayor of darby, paula brown has helped me with information, and she is well aware that this location should not be used as mold spores can kill. Any and all equipment, supplies and anything else should be checked for contamination, which in turn may contaminate schools as they are brought into each.

Many of the eleven schools are in horrific condition, but the school district simply states that they are in a deficit, and cannot do anything about it now. Cosmetics may be one thing, but safety issues are an entire different ballgame, and parents should be made aware.

Many of the building alarms are not connected to the alarm company, so a serious problem might not be detected and dispatched to the proper authorities until it is too late.

Recently I learned that many of the sprinkler systems might be disconnected as well, causing much concern if a child is trapped in a classroom or another area. From my experience at the school district, I wondered why many of the escape doors were chained shut, or why many of the schools, especially east lansdowne on the second floor have no lock down capabilities with their classrooms. Should an attack, or a predator enter the building, or other disaster break out, these children would not be able to be locked down into their classrooms. Again, the school district said it was broke.

I also found that workers with criminal backgrounds were hired, even though the school district and aramark knew about the background. Many of the schools have old camera systems, but usually the system is useless because no one feels like changing the vcr tape every day. The new playground set at bell avenue cost in the range of $13,000, but instead of paying the company $5000 to make sure it is built safe and the correct way, the district is having their own men build this, which brings up an insurance and liability issue.

Last year bell avenue had its entire second floor asbestos tiles removed, but never bothered to have the first floor asbestos tiles removed. Msds sheets in most of these buildings do not exist, and as recently as a few months ago one janitor was rushed to the emergency room because he mixed bleach and another cleaning agent together. Bleach is not supposed to be in these schools, and aramark collected approximately 50 bottles.

I was told by my aramark supervisor to place after hour calls from the alarm company on test for the night, so that a maintenance man did not have to go in and be paid an automatic three hours of overtime. Whether it was high freezer temperatures, or building alarms, they went onto test. At one time the alarm company called the mechanics directly, but aramark changed that and made them call the supervisor because of cost issues.

There are no records or any recovery of r-12, r-22, or any other type of refrigerant, yet william penn buys it. Where is this refrigerant going, and why isn’t it being recovered per the refrigerant recovery act.

The fire captain asked to have all schools furnished with lock boxes in case of emergency, but that also falls under the category of, “we’re broke.”

The elevator inspector told us last year to have the pipes and metal beneath the colwyn school elevator painted and cleaned, but as of last month, when the pit flooded over, it was not done yet. At bell avenue, two or three times during this past year a ballast caught on fire in the classroom, and the last time the fire chief said that all ballast had to be replaced by a qualified and licensed electrician. That never took place either.

Parents need to be aware of the dangers their children face everyday at the william penn school district, as well as having aramark run the maintenance department. There are many complaints about the service company aramark on the internet, and I have included a few.

These situations need to be rectified before a child is injured or worse, but the school district doesn’t seem to want to do anything about it. The ceo is 2-3 years away from retirement and the superintendent has applied for three other school districts in the past year. I am a door dasher.

On July 11 in East Moline Illinois. I delivered a Panera order to Aramark at the John Denver World Headquarters. It was three very large and full Catering bags.

No tip at all.

This is easily the worst order I've ever had in my over 4000 order experience.

I gave feedback to Aramark and have been ignored.

I observed a driver texting and driving. Truck number 22071. I don't know how many lives we have to lose to get these young people to realize this is a serious matter.

Today may 16, 2018 I was driving on the services road of I-35 Stemmons fwy at this time Aramark company 18 wheeler exited of the freeway and blew at me and crossed over three lanes of traffic while doing that he continued to blow at me. number 27461L. License number #11B417

I worked for aramark and ive never recieved not ONE paycheck from them. They said the first paycheck was going to be a papercheck and it wasnt the second check wasnt deposited into the account i put in as my direct deposit . NEVER in my life have i had to deal with money issues with ANY company ive worked for til Aramark in Arlington, Tx.

You guys cook and provide food services to the prison system here in michigan. I understand they are in prison so I don't expectyou to serve new York strips or anything. But I do expect you to cook the food you do give them all the way and not be serving raw undercooked food. This is unacceptable and very gross. It can cause major health problems. How would you like it if it were you or your loved ones having to eat this kind of food? You guys should ashamed of your self's! ! Signed by not a happy prison wife. .

At the towers cafe inside wayne state university last nite there where worms in my Basa fish... thats very nasty... i feel sick now.

I have been with Aramark for a year now. But when I first started I was not fully trained. And I was disrespected throughout my time working there. The management is very poor . And they dont do anything about what is going on if you have a situation going on . I feel like you are a science lab experience they stand over you and harass you about if your working or not . But as an employee at other jobs for million dollar companies I never had to deal with that in my life. And the managers discuss everyones business on the main floor for everyone to hear. I feel like thats so disrespectful. The company doesn't appreciate their employees. We work so hard for barely over minimum wage and we get treated do wrong. Its already fast food and we have to move very fast. But I am tired of the company they act like they have high expectations but i feel like they need new managers at the Georgia gwinnett college campus. You would think its Chickfila it shouldn't be like that . But it is. And alot of workers have quit because of how management treats us. People are afraid to complain but i am complaining and speaking for everyone as a whole. Employees get cursed out, are discriminated against. They dont give you your break on time. I asked for another uniform its been months. Its just so unprofessional. Customers see how managers treat us . Even if they feel their above us doesn't mean we should be treated so poorly. This is why I am deciding to leave the company. And whoever reads this is a heads up. Not only my experience but my co workers talk to me about some of the same issues. But they just dont want to voice there opinion.

@Angel - I have worked for Aramark in Houston Texas... I was not their employee, but Aramark paid our church to provide volunteers to run their concessions... the money went to the youth group at the church... so even though i was not technically an Aramark employee, i did work for them. i saw deplorable conditions... we had to work in standing water some days (with electrical appliances plugged in that we were using that were in the water as well)... and this is just one example... Aramark brings in, on a daily basis... people off the street.. .they feed them when they enter and pay them minimum wage (maybe)... no type of background checks... and on and on... mold contamination... when we complained... we were told to use the food and/or food equipment ANYWAY... I have NO respect for this company... especially considering their upcharge on their concessions... if our church volunteers dropped a cup on the ground and forgot to place it in "waste"... Aramark would deduct the FULL PRICE of the drink out of our payment (oh, and by the way... we made ONLY a percentage of the sales... REGARDLESS of the amount of employees it took to run a concession stand and the hours required to be there). on most days... we averaged about $2.00 an hour per employee... WHAT a DEAL for Aramark! I think using people this way is despicable. i would LOVE for the world to know the truth. Thank you, Robin
