On Monday, Nov 13th my gastrologist sent me to the hospital thinking I had a blockage because I have several Crohn's disease. I arrived at the hospital shortly after 5pm. Was taken back for blood work and an X-Ray right away, but never heard from anyone after that. I watched as everyone after me kept going back, but my name was never called. (A teenage, ordered food in the waiting room. He was eating, laughing, and talking and still got seen right away) I continued to watch as people came and left... After sitting in the waiting room for 5 1/2 hours I decided it was time to leave. I could barely hold my head up I was so sick.
When I decided it was time to leave, I ask the receptionist why I was never called back, and she stated she has no clue that the head nurse makes those decisions. I told the receptionist the service at Lincolnton, NC hospital was awful, and I would never come back. (Never raised my voice. I was so sick I could barely walk) Then a security guard walked after and said I'm not allowed to say things like that and ask me to leave. Really... I was asking a question and felt I needed an answer since I sat in the waiting room for so long. The security guards were too worried about chatting with the nurses, walking a nurse to her car, and going back to that room beside bathrooms to eat and drink every couple minutes.
I left and the next day I went to my gastrologist, and he took more blood work etc. Come to find out my white blood cell count was extremely high, and I had an infection.
I never go to the hospital for anything... This one time and my experience was so bad I will never go back.
Claimed loss: Poor customer service
