Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist I was told many times that they were short staffed

I was told many times that they were short staffed. My dad had a stage 4 brain tumor and had the tumor taken out. He was getting better until they moved him to the ninth floor. I went to see him during lunch and found him lying flat on his back, all dirty and choking on his own vomit. It took a whole 6 minutes before a nurse finally came to help me.

Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Most of the people working there are really nice

Most of the people working there are really nice. My only input is to say that when I check in with the nurse to see how my loved one is doing, it seems like pulling teeth. I know they are busy but it seems like they don't wanna tell me anything. I feel like they hiding something from me and it really hurts. It scares me. If you live close by, you need to go see your loved one every day.

Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Took my son to the hospital 'cause he wasn't himself

Took my son to the hospital 'cause he wasn't himself. They asked if he's on drugs, like, seriously? I assured them he isn't. Doc asks him too, and he says no. I know my child, I'm not clueless. Nurse says kids can be wild, implying he does drugs. No test, just assumptions 'cause he's a colored teen. Turns out his sugar was super low. I'm mad, no drugs in his system. Paperwork didn't even mention his sugar. They lied about the x-ray too. Biased, racist, and frauds. Check your paperwork if you go there.

Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist I have a daughter with special needs who is an adult

I have a daughter with special needs who is an adult. She has trouble processing language and is hearing impaired. She also has hydrocephalus and recently needed a shunt revision after we moved and started using the Wake system. Unfortunately, after her first revision, she woke up with severe cognitive problems due to damage from anesthesia. In 2020, she had another shunt revision, but this time, the hospital wouldn't let me be with her in recovery or give her hearing aids. Additionally, her throat was injured during surgery, once again due to anesthesia. On April 14, 2022, she had another revision, and despite us warning the anesthesiologist about the incorrect anesthesia used in 2019, they still used the wrong one. It has been over 2 months now, and our daughter has suffered severe damage. The anesthesiologists never returned our call, but thankfully, our neurosurgeon stepped in and had someone from the anesthesia department reach out to us. That's when we found out about the wrong anesthesia being used. Sadly, nobody from the anesthesia team followed up with our daughter.

Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist I wanna tell y'all 'bout Wake Forest Baptist Health and how they treat their patients

I wanna tell y'all 'bout Wake Forest Baptist Health and how they treat their patients. I been seein' Dr. Adolfo F and his team at the Weight Management Center in Greensboro, North Carolina for 'bout 8 months now. I got referred to Dr. F 'cause I found out I got a hernia that needs fixin'. But guess what? After 8 months and over $40,000 later, still NO SURGERY.

So, on my last visit with Dr. Adolfo F, I was tryin' to tell him 'bout the constant pain I been feelin'. But instead of listenin' to me, the doctor tells me to "shut up and stop eatin'". Can y'all believe that? And then, Dr. F starts talkin' in Spanish to my support person, even though I don't speak Spanish. Ain't that a violation of my rights? This appointment messed me up real bad, and I didn't even leave my house for days after. I couldn't believe a doctor could say such things and get away with treatin' another human like that.

I'm worried 'bout other patients at Wake Forest Baptist Health and how they might be gettin' treated. I'm real disturbed and disappointed with Wake Forest Baptist Health and with Dr. Adolfo F!

Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Wake Forest is runnin' a insurance scam - schedulin' and billin' unnecessary appointments

Wake Forest is runnin' a insurance scam - schedulin' and billin' unnecessary appointments. I called their office when I found out I was pregnant, told 'em how far along I was and they scheduled my first ultrasound. When I arrived the ultrasound technician asked who scheduled my appointment as it was too early to gather the information they typically would at this stage. The technician then said that we we would go ahead and complete the appointment as scheduled. After the ultrasound was complete the doctor popped in the room for less than 30 seconds to let me know that as we already knew, it was too early and they rescheduled the appointment a week or so in the future. It was a inconvenience but I wasn't too bothered until I received the $1204 ($504.34 after insurance) bill in the mail and realized I would be responsible for the same bill all over again 'cause of their schedulin' error. I disputed the bill with the care provider, they removed the charge from my billin' statement (after numerous escalations and failures to respond in a timely manner) for a time and they just reposted the bill (months later) sayin' the dispute review was complete and I was responsible for the charges as services had been rendered, a fact that was never disputed to begin with. Through the whole 5 month process I never received any updates as they failed to meet the several response deadlines I was told they would meet. Additionally it seems convenient that they only reposted the bill and "resolved" the dispute a week after I transferred care outside of Atrium health/Wake Forest Baptist Health. The SECOND ultrasound which was essentially a reschedulin' of the first appointment was $234.72 LESS expensive than the appointment before it, even though the exact same services were rendered. I am now escalatin' this dispute through my insurance company and another appropriate channels.

Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist On 02.12.2021 my daughter Joslyn was born 30 weeks premature at Wake Forest Baptist Health

On 02.12.2021 my daughter Joslyn was born 30 weeks premature at Wake Forest Baptist Health. Joslyn Spent 6 weeks in the NICU and intermediate care there as well, and went home on 03.26.21. During her stay we opened a patient relations case on account of her care she was receiving, lack of communication, and misinformation being given by her doctors and her nurses. We spoke with Charge nurses, the head social worker Maggie (I have text messages and phone records, and voicemails), and three patient relations advocates within 3 weeks (Also have voicemails). When we went home, Joslyn was scheduled without consent or confirmation for a "follow-up eye appointment' with their pediatric ophthalmologist, Dr. B, on 04.08.21. I cancelled this appointment via the automated system (text proof) on 04.05.2021 - her father and I no longer wanted to use Wake Forest due to misinformation and lack of trust. I scheduled her into a new facility on 04.07.21. On 04.06.21 I received a call from Tracy, the outpatient scheduler (her words) from the eye center - telling me (on vm) that this appointment was non-negotiable, and that she would be speaking with Dr. B about this. I called and cancelled again after Tracy reinstated the appointment. She told me Dr. B and Dr. Y were the only two providers in Forsyth County and I had no choice but to use them. I called back and cancelled the appointment again with a different office worker. On 04.07.21 I received another call from Tracy and so did the father. I have a voicemail with Tracy stating Joslyn had a life altering disease, RTO (retinopathy of prematurity) and her state was dire - and she didn't know if Joslyn could wait to be seen. Tracy, verbally, over the phone with her Father, threatened social services. This information was nowhere in Joslyn's medical records of having such disease, and also nowhere in notes from discharge or spoken to use verbally that she had any type of disease nor illness. A patient relations case was made by the child's Grandmother - as to which the mothers information and baby's information was discussed and shared and wake forest was accused of harassment. Nowhere, is the grandmother allowed to discuss either's health information. The patient relations advocate, Cindy, told the eye center to stop calling us and to stop harassing us, along with another patient relations advocate. Harassment was confirmed, and Nancy was told to cease. On 04.08.2021 I was called several times by Nancy - the Office manager for the eye center, and was threatened with CPS (VM). Joslyn's father spoke with Nancy, and confirmed Joslyn didn't have any illness and they couldn't tell us why she needed these follow-up appointments, and also why we couldn't use a doctor outside of wake forest. She again threatened social services, and said it was protocol. Nowhere, in a protocol, is it legal to threaten a family with CPS just because they don't want to use a service provider in a certain medical system. Nancy took it upon herself to contact social services with a malicious and false allegation. She alleged that we were neglecting our child who had a dire medical condition, and that her father had become aggressive with several nurses. They also alleged that we didn't cancel the appointment, we missed it. Overall, there were numerous calls from Nancy and Tracy within hours of each other, for days straight. They would not stop calling and harassing us to come into the clinic. I had text proof and a voicemail confirming that cancellation. The social worker, Yolanda, came to our home, and confirmed this allegation was entirely false. I played the voicemails with threats, and confirmed the cancelled appointment via the automated system. We were told by the social worker, and the supervisor of the social worker, that we had a right as her parent to choose whoever we wanted to see her. There is no law, or protocol, making us use wake forest or a doctor in their system. They have no control over our child or our decisions with our child. North Carolina cannot enforce something that isn't in their jurisdiction, and also cannot strip a parent of their rights to choose any provider they wish to see their child. Nancy, or whomever, even went as far as to call the CPS worker and ask for an update in our case, which Yolanda said she had a voicemail of, which is illegal and is a form of phishing for information - this is a violation of our rights. Wake Forest has slandered and defamed us, harassed, filed a false allegation with CPS in the state of north Carolina, lied about medical conditions, altered medical records both verbally and in print, and has caused undue stress all because they didn't want us using a different provider for our daughter. This is unacceptable, a bullying tactic, and disgusting. Due to this, we have both experienced anxiety and stress. I want Wake forest to answer for their discrepancies, and also admit to defamation. If this is happening to us, it is absolutely happening to another family. They cannot get away with this despicable behavior any longer. I have voicemails for everything I have stated, phone records, and now a CPS report to prove this system tried to be malicious, filed a false claim, and has been slandering us.

Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist I got a bill for nearly 500 for lab work that should've been covered

I got a bill for nearly 500 for lab work that should've been covered. Other places charged only 60, and I paid just 13. They're totally scamming people. My doc said their office would take care of it, and I applied for help, but now they're sending it to collections. It's so dumb.

I went to the emergency room in Wilkesboro NC because I had really bad stomach pains and felt like I was gonna pass out or throw up. It was a HORRIBLE experience, and I wanna talk to someone about it. I called the money people, and they told me to send an email. So, I sent emails on 9/22, 10/7, and 11/10, but nobody bothered to reply. I even wrote on a bill and sent it back, asking them to get in touch with me, but still no response. Today, I got another bill in the mail, and I'm gonna send it back again, asking them to contact me. If they don't, I'm gonna get a lawyer involved.

Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist I seen my mental health provider on 07.09.21 for a telehealth / phone visit

I seen my mental health provider on 07.09.21 for a telehealth / phone visit. I owed $0 as a copay as per ***'s agreement with their providers. *** advises that WFUBMC instead billed for an office visit and not telehealth. I'm now incorrectly being billed for a $25 co-pay that I don't owe. When first billed, I sent a written message via WFUMBC's portal detailing the error. In fact, I have written multiple times with the same "the claim has been resubmitted" excuse. (See attachment) I had the same issue on 05.14.21, but after months of messaging it was resolved 6 months later. I want this fixed once and for all! I want all future telehealth visits coded correctly! I don't care what you have to do. I want a streamlined channel for when this happens again (and it will). Lastly wipe my bill clean, stop billing me, and simply leave me alone.

Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist my doctor sent me to Wake Forest Baptist medical center for colonoscopy and endoscopy screening on Aug 3, 2020

my doctor sent me to Wake Forest Baptist medical center for colonoscopy and endoscopy screening on Aug 3, 2020. I had the same procedure in 2014 with WFBMC as my provider, and my insurance was ***. They covered everything back then. However, this time in 2020, WFBMC billed it as a surgery instead of a screening, which it should have been. *** informed me in Aug 2020 that the providers should resubmit the bills with a screening code, not a surgery code. I contacted the providers multiple times, and each time they said they would review my case, resubmit the claims, and call me back. They assured me of this on Oct 23, 2020, again on Nov 23, 2020, again on Jan 11, 2021, and today, Jan 25, 2021. Now, a collections company is demanding payment and my credit is being negatively affected. I feel like I'm being taken advantage of due to questionable practices between WFBMC and ***.

Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist I had my baby on February 12th at Baptist

I had my baby on February 12th at Baptist. They charged me more than $3,000 for myself and another $3,000 for my daughter, plus the cost of a NICU stay. Wake Forest didn't offer me any reasonable payment options and didn't want to work with me because I had insurance at the time. Now that I have Medicaid, they only offered me "access one" as an option, which they claim is interest-free on their website. However, Wake Forest decided to send half of my bill to collections, even though they promised not to and said they would send it to access one instead. They did manage to take some of the amount out of collections that shouldn't have been there, but they refuse to do the same for the other half. They never offered me access one or a fair payment plan. They also refused to provide financial aid before sending it to collections. AccessOne is not interest-free, and now I have a collections balance hanging over me because of this. They still haven't sent the AccessOne account to AccessOne, even though I requested it months ago.

Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist On April 13th, I went to Wake Forest Baptist Health (WFBH) emergency room at 5:30 am

On April 13th, I went to Wake Forest Baptist Health (WFBH) emergency room at 5:30 am. They took my insurance card, brought me in, and checked my temperature and blood pressure. They put me in a room for about 10 minutes and then put me back in the lobby. I waited 8 hours in the lobby for them to see me. I asked them multiple times when someone could see me. I felt like I was gonna die. I finally had my husband take me to another hospital 8 hours later. WFBH sent me a bill for $1,534.80. We contacted them to get it removed, 'cause services were NOT rendered. (After all, my husband had to take me to another hospital.) They reviewed it and said they would not. They did not file the bill with my insurance 'cause they know the insurance company would not pay for no services rendered. A few days ago, we received a bill from a collection agency. The hospital is wanting to take both my husband and my 2-week paychecks for just checking my blood pressure and temperature.

Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist In 2019, I had my yearly check-up at a Wake Forest Baptist Health office in Wilkesboro, NC

In 2019, I had my yearly check-up at a Wake Forest Baptist Health office in Wilkesboro, NC. My check-up is covered by insurance, but there was a mix-up with the coding, so my insurance didn't pay $168.94. A collection agency contacted me, and I paid them the $168.94. However, around the same time, the insurance issue was resolved, and my insurance also paid $168.94. The collection agency informed Wake Forest Baptist Health in November that I had already paid, and Wake Forest Baptist Health confirmed that my insurance had also paid, assuring me that I would receive a refund. This happened on 11/11. They said it would take 10 days, but nothing happened. Then, on 11/25, they told me it usually takes 10 weeks to get the refund. Now, it has been over 20 weeks, and I still haven't received my refund check. I call them every day, and they give me the same runaround. They acknowledge that my account shows I am owed a refund of $168.94, and they claim they have escalated the issue to a supervisor in the refund department. However, even today, there is no resolution. My account number is: ***. I feel like they have taken my money, which makes me extremely angry. I need help resolving this matter. I have spoken to everyone in that company, and I never receive any assistance! This is beyond ridiculous! Could you please help me get the money that is rightfully mine? I continue to deal with this every day, and I just don't understand why it's so difficult for someone to print a check and mail it to me. The money belongs to me, and there is no doubt about it. Please HELP ME! Thanks

Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist I'm really frustrated with Atrium Health Baptist Hospital

I'm really frustrated with Atrium Health Baptist Hospital. They keep sending me bills that are way too high. I've called and complained so many times to Atrium and ***. I went to Atrium for a check-up on December 15th. Atrium sent my insurance claim to *** and they denied it. I had insurance with *** until October 31st. Since March 2022, I've been going back and forth with Atrium and *** about this bill. It was denied because of a billing mistake on ***'s part. They said I had secondary insurance. Atrium keeps sending me bills for $502.00 when I only owe $47.00. I talked to an agent named *** at *** on June 9th and 16th. She said the problem was fixed in their system. But now there are 2 claims on my *** account. Today, I got a notice from *** saying that Atrium sent me to a debt collector, even though they're trying to charge me $455.00 more than what I owe. So I sent another complaint to *** and to Atrium, attention Marcie, today. Atrium is not only trying to overcharge me, but they're also trying to ruin my credit. I've been dealing with both of these businesses over the phone and through letters for 4 months, and I can't get them to fix the mistake. I also filed a complaint with Medicare, and I'm going to file another one today. I emailed Atrium today, Marcie, we last talked on March 15th, 2022, about the billing mistake from December 15th. I never heard back from you. In the meantime, I've talked to *** and ***, the office manager at the doctor's office, several times about this mistake. On June 9th and 16th, I talked to *** in the complaint department at *** in CA, and she admitted that they denied the claim by mistake. She fixed it to show that I only owe $47.00. But today, I got a collection letter from *** because Atrium is trying to charge me too much, and *** hasn't removed the original claim. You need to call me so we can talk about this. I sent another complaint letter to *** today.
