PracticeFusion Unimpressed with PracticeFusion: Poor Platform and Privacy Concerns

I gotta say, I'm not too happy with PracticeFusion. I mean, who knows what kind of stuff they're snooping around in my business for? As a practice owner, I've got a lot of confidential information that I don't want anyone else getting their hands on. So, I've decided to delete my free account with them.

I read this article on Forbes about PracticeFusion and it just confirmed my suspicions. Apparently, they were caught looking at patients' medical records without permission. That's just not cool, man. I don't want to be associated with a company that does stuff like that.

Plus, their platform just isn't that great. It's clunky and hard to navigate. And don't even get me started on their customer service. It's like pulling teeth trying to get ahold of someone who can actually help you.

Overall, I wouldn't recommend PracticeFusion to anyone. There are plenty of other options out there that are better and more trustworthy. Save yourself the headache and go with someone else.

PracticeFusion Practice Fusion Review: A Free and User-Friendly EHR for Small Practices

Practice Fusion is a pretty cool EHR. The best part is that it's free and it's super easy to use. I'm not sure if it's as good as other EHRs that cost money, but it gets the job done. I'm also not sure how they make money since they collect a lot of data, but I guess that's not really my problem.

I've used Practice Fusion in a few different doctor's offices and it's been really helpful. It's easy to input patient information and keep track of their medical history. Plus, it's nice to be able to access everything online instead of having to dig through a bunch of paper files.

One thing I will say is that sometimes the system can be a little slow. It's not a huge deal, but it can be frustrating when you're trying to get things done quickly. Also, there are a few features that I wish were a little more user-friendly. But overall, I think Practice Fusion is a great resource for doctors and their staff.

If you're looking for an EHR that won't break the bank, I definitely recommend giving Practice Fusion a try. It might not be perfect, but it's a solid option for small practices or anyone who doesn't want to spend a ton of money on software.

PracticeFusion PracticeFusion EHR Review: Disappointing Updates, Poor Customer Service, and Inaccurate Reporting

PracticeFusion used to be a great EHR, but now it's gone to the dogs. They finally provided some updates in August 2019, but it's not enough. There's no MIPS reporting until October, and even when it's available, it's inaccurate and not able to be presented for audit. It's frustrating when you need to call them for help, but they fail to answer. I tried calling for 5 hours, but no one picked up. When calling from an outside number, it says "all of our representatives are in mandatory training". It's not helpful at all, and it wastes my time.

I'm on with them now, just under an hour, with no answer - in their first hour of opening (got on at 9:03am, they open at 9am EDT). It's ridiculous that I have to wait for so long just to get some help. It took them 3 weeks to have a lab connection processed, and 4 weeks (and no response) for the federal reporting (deadline is 10 days away). It's unacceptable, and it's affecting my business.

Ever since they were bought by AllScripts in early 2018, it has gone downhill. In all good faith, my business will no longer be putting physicians on PracticeFusion, and will be highly recommending they move to more functional EHRs. It's a shame that PracticeFusion used to be a great EHR, but now it's just not worth it.

PracticeFusion Unleashing the Power of Creativity: A Review of 'The War of Art' by Steven Pressfield

I have used PF since 2010 in a Solo Family Practice office. 10 employees.

PROS: Easy to learn for ALL levels of employees. Tech Support is good. Templates are easy to customize. Flows closely to a paper chart. Works well for MU and other Data driven needs. Billing & schedule are simple. It's FREE!

CONS: Changes/improvements recommended by users almost NEVER get done. Such as a request for "patient alerts" that pop up when a chart is open, were promised to be developed in 2010 and still don't exist. All focus of PF went to MU. Highlighting chart text, inserting video, or scanning directly into a chart note by attachment STILL can't be done to my knowledge. You can't assign a patient to a certain Practitioner and adjusting a med or using generic shows up as an additional med in the list.

I billed through their associate, KAREO, and things went smoothly. QUEST labs interfaced well.
PF is not perfect, but remember it is free. Be prepared to create "work around" processes for your staff to deal with certain glitches or annoyances... like the lack of alerts, etc... otherwise, you will be pleased with the ease of use and visual simplicity of the software.

PracticeFusion Review: PracticeFusion EMR - A Solid Choice for Small Offices

So, I've been managing the technology for about 5 different offices, and I gotta say, PracticeFusion is a pretty solid EMR system. Out of the 5 offices, 3 of them use PracticeFusion, one uses eCW, and the other is transitioning to an EMR for their specialty. Here's what I've learned from my experience with PracticeFusion:

First off, it's free. That's right, you heard me, FREE. This is a huge selling point for doctors who are willing to give it a try. The set-up process only takes about an hour, and importing your patient list takes 3 days at most (you just put it in an Excel sheet, and they take care of the rest).

Another great thing about PracticeFusion is that there is very little upsell. Billing aside, every feature is included as long as you follow protocols and know how to use it (eRX, patient portal, direct messaging). With other EMRs, you get charged for EVERYTHING extra, and that means wasting time getting it unlocked.

Setting things up is intuitive for the most part, and any issues that do arise are usually quickly remedied with a chat support or a phone call. However, there are some features that PracticeFusion doesn't have that people would like to see. For example, some offices would like the ability for office staff to send a script on behalf of the provider. While there are few work-arounds for these limitations, some are deal-breakers for certain offices.

One downside to PracticeFusion is that if you need it on a day that it goes down (which is rare, but it happens), there is no work-around. As far as I've seen, there is no possibility to synchronize with a personal server. Additionally, it cannot be used for doctor's offices where the doctors don't share patients. If you have two doctors who don't want to mix records, there is no way from what I've seen to restrict access to the chart.

Overall, PracticeFusion is a good beginner EMR for those who want to flirt with MIPS initiatives. For those waiting to get swallowed up by a bigger practice, it's good because you can maintain it for the 7 years. While it does have its limitations compared to some of the more expensive EMR systems, I'd still choose it as long as you have a stable internet connection.
