I started going to Mercy in May
I started going to Mercy in May . They overcharged me per EOBs by over $400. We tried many times to get this resolved. I was to have surgery in Dec 2020 & the Dr waived my co-pay of $300 for surgery, because of my billing issues. Since then, they've added back the $300. At most, I owe $110, but my balance is $515.
I went in for a routine mammogram on 3/19 at Mercy Springfield
I went in for a routine mammogram on 3/19 at Mercy Springfield. They billed my insurance. They are sending me a bill for $73.77. According to my insurance with Blue Cross Clue Shield, I should not have to pay for a preventative appointment. I have spoke to Mercy and they told me insurance didn't pay it. Blue Cross Blue Shield says I owe nothing and they have paid the claims in full. BCBS is sending me the EOB that states my patient responsibility should be zero.

We attempted to establish communication but encountered evasive responses. Subsequently, Medicare withdrew their payment, prompting the doctor to submit a new claim for the same date of service under a different claim number, which resulted in Mastercard settling the claim. This particular doctor has submitted four claims for individual appointments: the first on May 26, the second on October 15, the third on May 20, and the fourth on July 24. These are not repeated claims for the same visit; rather, each time Mastercard withdrew payment, the doctor reissued the claim with a new claim number.
We are of the opinion that this matter warrants a comprehensive investigation and legal action. It appears to be a case of Medicare and insurance fraud, and we have reason to believe that this individual is not the sole victim of such deceptive practices. The doctor's office shows a lack of interest in rectifying these charges, despite being aware that the individual in question has never been under their care. They persist in filing claims for new appointments, charging both Medicare and American Republic. It is imperative that someone with the requisite authority, power, knowledge, and resources intervenes to halt this fraudulent activity. It is concerning to consider how many others may be affected by their actions.
Date of transaction: 07/31 with Dr. [Name Redacted] Amount in dispute: $215 Account number: [Redacted] Invoice number: [Redacted] Issue: Mercy Hospital is billing me for my visit without submitting a claim to my insurance company. I have been a patient for many years and I see my doctor every six months. My insurance pays for my visit 100% with no deductibles or copay. For this last visit, they just billed me and completely ignored my insurance. Now they say they have billed my insurance but are also encouraging me to pay as well. I have United Health Care AND Missouri Medicaid. It is a "Special needs" insurance as I am disabled. My insurance company has told me they've never received a claim from Mercy and that my services are covered 100%.
I went to the doctor on 01/17 and they did a PSA test that my insurance company did not pay for because of the way they coded the test
I went to the doctor on 01/17 and they did a PSA test that my insurance company did not pay for because of the way they coded the test. My wife has made several phone calls to our insurance company and to Mercy concerning this issue. My wife called Mercy and told them how to recode the bill and even give them the phone number and a contact name at out insurance company and they would tell them how to code it for it to be paid for and Mercy will not call them or recode the bill for it to be paid for by out insurance company. Mercy called me today and told me that it was coded correctly and they would not recode it and I owe the bill so I went ahead and paid it or they would be turning it over to a collection company. Every time we go to Mercy we have to fight over their billing. This is not just happening to my family we are one of a few that will fight for what is correct.

I was seen by mercy hospital twice while I was still officially incarcerated by the federal government. My official release date was November 3rd. I have tried to work with them on numerous occasions to get them to bill the correct place so they can get paid. I have 2 Bill's that I owe them to hat the federal government has to pay because I was still incarcerated. I was put in to a collection agency 9 months back. I am still getting harrassed by mercy and the collection agency even though I am not responsible for payment of the 2 Bill's. No matter how much I talk with them I cannot get this issue fixed. I can provide the billing info they need to use and paperwork stating that I was still incarcerated.

My college age daughter was in distress and experiencing chest pain
My college age daughter was in distress and experiencing chest pain. When she arrived at the Mercy Advanced Ambulatory clinic the staff was rude and pointed at her and made references to an outstanding bill. A bill that was generated on 8/21 and was not due until 9/18. A bill that Mercy failed to run through insurance the first time and we had to request it be filed through insurance. Not only was she scared and unwell the treatment caused her a great deal of anxiety which only contributed to her chest pain. So thank you Mercy for causing my daughter to feel even worse by shaking her down for a bill that wasn't even due! I have since learned that staff obtain bonuses for getting payments from people while they are on site. I will pay any bills owed to your organization when they are due and/or set up a payment plan. I would ask that they change their collection center attitude before they give someone a heart attack and get sued.

Per my conversation with your office they requested I to put my grievance in writing along with proof of the multiple conversations I had with Mercy. I have attached some of the conversations but there were many many conversations I had regarding a medical charge I was erroneously charged due to a coding error Mercy themselves made. After many months Mercy agreed they had made an error when coding my test. (see attached) This has created an issue with my insurance provider and my provider not covering the medical procedure. Even though Mercy admitted the procedure had been incorrectly coded I have since been turned over to a collection agency for same. I am not reusing to pay the charge; I do not owe the charge
This is a complaint against Mercy Hospital. Have been asking them about money owed to us for a faulty pacemaker. The device only lasted 4 years. Warranty enclosed. They refuse to do anything about the device.
On 5/11 I went to the Mercy Clinic Eye Specialists in Rolla, Mo
On 5/11 I went to the Mercy Clinic Eye Specialists in Rolla, Mo. for an eye exam and to order new glasses. I received an eye exam, dilation, and refraction. The doctor also told me I had an eye infection and sent in a prescription for an antibiotic. I then went to order my glasses. I only needed lenses, and was told my copay was $304. I paid upfront and later received my glasses. Later, the EOB from my vision insurance said the copay from my lenses should have been $189, meaning I had overpaid by $115. Mercy said they were "reviewing" that, but then just re-billed my insurance. Meanwhile, the bill for the eye exam has been sent to my insurance, but is coded incorrectly. I paid the full $206, but If they would send the bill properly coded I should be re-imbursed for about $150 of that. After 5 months of fighting this, I'd like a senior billing person who can actually fix the issue to resolve it once and for all. My patient number is

We tried to communicate with them, was given the runaround, then Medicare retracted their payment to them and the doctor just sent in a new claim, same date of service, different claim number so Mastercard paid the claim. This doctor has filed 4 claims so far for separate visits: [protected], [protected], [protected], [protected], not duplicate claims, same visit - alternating when Mastercard retracted payment - doctor sent claim in again under different claim number. We think they need to be thoroughly investigated and prosecuted. They are running a Medicare and insurance scam and we are sure *** isn't the only one they are doing this to! They show no interest in resolving theses charges and they know *** has never been a patient of theirs! They continue to send in new visits and charge Medicare and American Republic and someone with authority, power, knowledge and resources needs to put a stop to this Medicare fraud - who knows how many others they are doing this to!
I had an incident that required an emergency room visit at the Mercy Hospital, Berryville, Arkansas on May 17
I had an incident that required an emergency room visit at the Mercy Hospital, Berryville, Arkansas on May 17. Severe dehydration was what I was treated for. I have no complaints about the treatment. Since I had turned 65 the year before, Medicare assumed the role of primary care provider. Blue Cross/Blue Shield covered a portion of the bill but because I cannot afford to purchase Medicare part B, I received a bill in the amount of $3,631.52. I called Mercy Springfield to make arrangements for a payment plan on the morning of Aug 11, 2021. The agent I spoke with set up a payment plan for $50.00 a month and initiated a request for financial assistance saying I would receive by mail the necessary forms to fill out. Yesterday (10/01), I called to see where the forms were as I haven't received them yet. They said they were mailed 2 days ago and that they would not honor the $50.00 a month payment plan that had been set up. And, that it would be a much higher payment/mth.

Guarantor #[protected] (John Doe) I have sought financial aid services through Mercy and sent all info
Guarantor #123 (JD) I have sought financial aid services through Mercy and sent all requested info/documents multiple times. The application states a 45 day process, yet I've struggled for 8 months since March. Borrowing money to make payments, I can't continue without answers. I seek other options for lower payments, but they offer little beyond expecting large monthly bills while my wife is off work with our second child. We qualify for aid and have provided all documentation. They delay responding, risking the backpay period not covering costs even if approved.

I injured my shoulder and went to the ER at Mercy Hospital in Joplin Missouri
I injured my shoulder and went to the ER at Mercy Hospital in Joplin Missouri. After prelim exam and x-rays the DO referred me to ***. *** doesn't do shoulders so I was referred to *** who was too busy to get me in. Then I was referred to *** who gave me a preliminary diagnosis of tendonopathy and sent me for an MRI at Mercy Hospital on the 3rd of December . The receptionist said the copay would be $250. I'm fully disabled, I'm on a fixed income and I don't have that kind of money. MEDICARE takes almost $300 out of my SSDI every single month because of the uninsured, INEBRIATED motorist who hit me doing approximately 65-70 mph in a 35 while I was sitting still waiting on a train. I am in excruciating pain everyday, RIGHT NOW. I can't sleep and I have no way of helping my girlfriend who is handicapped and I was her home health care aide for years. I encounter APATHY at Mercy. They're ANYTHING BUT merciful. *** is the same way. It's INHUMANE.

on June 2nd I paid $4,413.93 for a medical procedure that I had done back in March
on June 2nd I paid $4,413.93 for a medical procedure that I had done back in March. My insurance recently told me that I should have paid a little over $3,000 and that it is likley they did not give me a PHCS balance. I called Mercy and talked with them several times about this and they said they are going to look into it. I was told by a supervisor that it would take less than a week and that I should call back if I have not been given an answer. I called backed today, a week a half later, and they told me it could take 45 days for them to investigate and for me to get a refund. The main problem is the the 45 days but that they say that I owe $900 in bills, which is less than the amount that I overpaid. Unless I pay them they are sending them to collections. I do not have the money to pay them until they pay me back what they owe me, since they overcharged me over $1000 back in June. In short, they are demanding that I pay my bills now, but they are refusing to consider that I overpaid more than they say that I owe them.

Starting in July I started seeing my insurance paying 75 percent and Mercy billing me 25 percent for one of my providers, Dr. *** Before July my insurance paid 100 percent and had been paying 100 percent since I first got a policy with them back in January . I contacted my insurance and they reviewed it. They said that Mercy has changed how they are billing the insurance. They told me they had contacted Mercy and informed them of the discrepancy. Mercy said they would review it. But as of today I am still getting calls wanting money for the visits. I refuse to pay the bill because there is no reason for Mercy to have changed the way they billed the insurance. When I tried calling Mercy Billing and told them what they insurance had told me. I got a runaround and they said they would have someone call me to discuss the bill. Yet no one ever called. The only resolution I will accept is they return their billing practices back to pre-July and bill my insurance the way they used to, where the insurance paid 100 percent.
