Audible unauthorized credit card charges

I noticed that I keep getting charged $14.95 a month for an audible book that I did not order. I do not own any device that I would need an audible book. Could you please refund me the amount taken from my acct!
This has been appearing on my acct for at least 4 to 5 months.

Audible unauthorized credit card charges.

I have recently gone over my credit card statements and have noticed that I have been charged $14.95 a month since January of 2017 for totally unauthorized charges. At this point I would appreciate if you could please refund these charges as they were never authorized. On my statement there is a reference #EZD9B8M7FHT that I assume is the client number associated with these charges.

Audible audible adbl.co/billnj

I was looking at the charges on my usbank debit card. I noticed a monthly charge of $16.02. I never ordered or purchased this. How this happened is beyond me? I never purchase anything with this card. I only use it for getting cash. I do have automatic assoc. dues monthly of 110 dollars and my usbank credit card withdraws the minimum payment each month.

Audible audible subscription membership unauthorized charge

Audible charged my minor son's student debit account 14.95 for a subscription membership service. He did not sign up the service. He does not have an Amazon account, nor an Audible account, which according to their posted terms as of July 2017 is the only way someone can receive their services. When I called to dispute the charge and have it removed, I was told that they could not see where the charge was billed to my son's card. My bank disputes this claim by Audible as the payment has already been posted to Audible. They also told me that there was no membership under my son's email address or my email address. I am the only member of my family with an Amazon account, and my son's card is not on file for the Amazon account. I was told that they see the charge to a different email and a different credit card, so they cannot refund my money. I was then asked by the customer service representative to give her the entire card account number so she could try to trace it and possibly give me a refund. WHAT? I refused and asked to be transferred to a fraud department. I was asked to provide a telephone number and they have yet to call me back.

If anyone out there reading these things has pull, Audible and Amazon need to be examined by an Attorney General for fraudulent practices. There are numerous stories online about false charges, switching credit cards on accounts between the two companies.

Audible unauthorized credit card charges.

I checked the balance of my excellacard to find out that I've been charged $14.95 plus $1.00 fee for audible that I never signed up for. I would like my money back. I called the customer service number I spoke to a representative and was told to give her my email address which I did then my name which I provided then she asked me for my place of residence. I did not provide her with that information because the same way they took my money should be the same way my money should get refunded. She told me I needed to provide my place of residence in order to get my money back. I strongly feel that is wrong. Something needs to be done.

Audible unauthorised monthly charge

Today a charge of $19.02 popped up being charged to my account. I neither looked at nor ordered any service for audio books or any other book at any time from any provider. Worse yet, this would have been an ongoing monthly fee for a service I did not order.

You should contact your credit card company and file a dispute for the charge. Additionally you should cancel that particular card and have a new card number issued.

Audible being changed for a free service

Signed up for a free copy of George Orwell 1984 .. yet have somehow racked up monthly charges for something I haven't used . Nor have I ever downloaded any other audio from this site. The first audio book I bought from audible.Com never actually played.. deleted the app. But have now noticed you've been charging me . I understand your business hours are not on weekends. Today is Sunday October 1st 2017 I will wait until Tuesday October 3rd to go into my bank an file a formal complaint and need be I will go further and a lawyer if possible. Never purchased anything and i have proof .

Audible I want my money back

I don't remember I ever signed up for them. I never delete emails with information about registration on websites, so I checked it to find proofs I never signed up. But I did. For free. I never was notified about being charged or something like this. If I didn't check my bank account, I would never find out about these charges. So they take my money each month. And it's not cheap. Now I'm trying to reach their customer service but they don't answer.
I hope they will fully refund.

Audible vulnerable to fraud

You all need to do a better job of protecting your customer’s information. Currently, to verify an acct we have to provide full name, full email address, and full address, all of which is not necessary. If requested individually, it’s fine but requesting all at the same time makes your customers vulnerable to fraud. That type of information cannot and should not be required consecutively. Do to your inability to protect your customer’s information (this info is used to create unauthorized accounts in your name, because all companies require those 3 pieces of info for anyone to create an acct), I’ve been a victim of fraud 5 times in the last 18 months. You are an Amazon company but Amazon does not place their customers at risk or make them vulnerable. Possible ways of protecting your customer’s info and still securely verify their info could be having them create a password (different from the one used to log into the acct) or pass code, providing other info such as the last 5 digits of the card you made your last purchase with, and the last 5 digits of the telephone number on file. Another choice could be having the customer pick 3 random things out of 5 (maybe) choices in order to verify their account; something that only that customer would know. It’s just ridiculous that no one on your staff has considered having your customers verify their account using other less vulnerable options.
I’ve been requesting a change to your system for years with no progress.

Audible charges on card

I keep getting charges from Audible and have changed my card several times and cannot get it to stop. The client has never been give my card or account number and don't know how they are getting the info. I see that numerous people have the same issue; you would think someone would figure out how to stop the bogus and scam charges.

With all the attacks on personal information and the compay coming up with our new card numbers there should be something that VISA and the banks can do to stop this madness.

I cannot keep changing my cards every month due to scams; if we cannot use the cards anymore what is the purpose of banking electronic?

This is an issue that needs to be dealt with as it is cheating us out of our money. I understand that it is $15.95. Visa is not doing anything to assist in keeping there numbers confidential.

The public needs helps against this madness.

Audible illegal charges

I was away from home since 3th may 2017 and I got charges for (audible) I did not subscribe, and is ilegal that get this charges.
3 jul 2017 charged to my bank 14.28 GBP
1 Aug 2017 charged to my bank 14.13 GBP
1 Sep 2017 charged to my bank 14.38 GBP.
I cant see all my bank statements so I don't even know if you charged more transaction than what I saw statement of last 3 months.

Since I was charged each month by audible for something that I did not subscribe or receive. Can you please refund my money and stop those charges which you charge me each month, as I mentioned I never subscribe nor agreed any charges please make full refund before it goes farther.

Audible audible charging my account $14.95 without authorization

I had never heard of Audible, nor do I own a Kindle. I am being charged for this service somehow. It is illegal and will be reported. I see there are many other similar complaints posted. I would encourage anyone effected by this fraud to ask your financial institution to report it as a crime to the authorities. If it is traceable back to amazon, then they too should be held accountable

Audible unauthorized bank card charges

Noticed charges from audible.com in 2/2017, 3/2017, 4/2017 and 2 charges in 7/2017. I bought a family member an Kindle Fire in 2016 holidays. When I first called in March 2017, they could not find anything under my name (nor my wife). I called again in April, once again they could not find anything. Noticed the two charges in July (within days of each other) and called again on 8/15/2017. They had an account open for an email address I have not used for over 10 yrs.

I told them I did open a trial promo, however closed on the same day; because I did not want a monthly fee. They had the trial promo, but no record of the closing (how convenient)! Would only refund me the first July charge of $15.72. This company took $73.06 from my account.

Audible automatic billing

I just noticed that I was being billed 15.95 per month from audible for 8 months. Automatically taken from my checking account. Every month

The membership is tied into amazon.

I have never received anything from audible regarding billing or credit or
Confirmation. I have received numerous emails regarding free books
But I thought this was spam.

This complaint board provided instructions as to calling audible and 6 of the 8 months are suppose to be refunded.

Audible unauthorized debit charge from audible adbl.co/bill nj

Today a charge of $14.95 popped up being charged to my account. I neither looked at nor ordered any service for audio books or any other book at any time from any provider. Worse yet, this would have been an ongoing monthly fee for a service I did not order.

I am now told my card will be de-activated and I 'may' get a replacement within 7 to 10 days and after that another 7 to 10 days for the fraud to be credited to my account. This is terribly disturbing. I have requested a refund but I am the one who will be inconveniently affected for several weeks from now.

I feel I am lucky to have caught this charge for a monthly fee not ordered. Just think how other people will feel if they don't notice the fraudulent fee.

Let's get real here folks. This is a scam where they steal your money. They will give it back if caught. (Do we let bank robbers go if they return the money?) They keep adding posters to these threads to try to legitimize what they do but it is fraud, out and out. They don't have to prove you signed up and the majority of folks have no memory of signing up or even knowing what Audible is.

This will end up in a class action and it will cost Audible and Amazon, but for now they don't care. They have access to your info and will to to great lengths to find ways to charge you until you get so fed up you call them out. This is a bad company and they are trying to screw you. This isn't just people who signed up and regretted it. They are taking liberties with their access to your accounts. Identity thieves go to jail for this, but they do not. This is criminal.

Thank you for posting this! I was charged this monthly fee for over a year without having ever made an order on audible! I have called them, and they have re-funded me the equivalent of 8 months of fees. I isn't the totality of my loss, but it is the best the lady on the phone could do. My call has handled professionally and with care. Make sure you call them as soon as you realize this!

When you use your Amazon account, you can - inadvertently - accept offers for free periods of some service. If you don´t pay attention and cancel it on time, it ´lll initiate periodic charges through any of Amazon registered payment methods you have .
You can have charge in several cards, almost randomly, and that's why you do not notice it.
The good news is, if you never used anything from Audible.com, they understand the misunderstanding and - very kindly and easily - initiate a process to reimburse you 100%. I suggest call to [protected]

So yes they will refund your money

They stated someone had my account information and was using my card number

Here is the email I got after the call they were very receptive and it was pretty easy to get the information removed from the account

A gentle scam. Just noted 4 monthly charges from Audible for $14.95/month. They had my wife signed up as a "member", except that she had no recollection of doing so, and did not recognize any of the 4 titles they showed her as getting. The service agent "Kimona" sounded very bored, and simply said they would cancel her "membership" and refund the charges (I think that 95% of their calls concern "fraudulent" charges like these. The e-mail she sent is copied below.

Bottom-line: No need to pay any money to a company to recover the payments to Audible. Just contact Audible and they will refund all the charges.

Thanks for posting this comment, which I found when I very belatedly googled a line in my credit card account. Taking your advice I called, expressed my complaint calmly, and a very polite Samantha said they would be issuing a credit for the amount I was charged (for 22 months of a subscription I didn't want and didn 't notice I had and never used).

This was happening to me also, i just found it today :( They Have been pulling from my account since May of 2017. Amazon and Audidble are attached so they have all your CC information thru amazon. I had purchased a Kindle and the audible app had come installed on it. It does not tell you you have a 30 day trial then amazon automatically charges your account. I emailed the company with letter to let them know I wasn't angry but was just plain disappointed and felt like amazon and audible had ripped me off. They emailed me back with 30 mins replying of how this had happened and have refunded my account the full amount. I will be checking my bank account daily to see if this actually does go thru but I will admit that is great customer service especially on the 4th of July!

Audible unauthorized credit card for 6 plus months

We are being charged monthly by audible and receive nothing. We didn't sign up for anything from this company. It shows up on our credit card like this: audible adbl.co/bill nj no phone number. I just noticed it and it is recurring since january. $15.85 for 6 months. No way to cancel because we never signed up. No phone number to call. No account. Thank you for your help

I went straight to Chase banks fraud alert as this company charged me 2 monthly 14.95 charges. Chase sent me a new card. Guess what? Audible has my new account number & charged me another monthly audible charge 14.95. I'm on the line with the fraud department right now.

Audible charges to my bank account for an app I don't have

On 6/7/17 I noticed a charge to my checking account that I did not authorize. I have been charged $15.85 a month for the last several months for this app that I never bought. I cancelled my free trial over a year ago. I started a dispute with my bank and have had to cancel my debit card and request a new one. I want my money back. This is illegal and I am appalled by how many other people this company has done this to.

Audible taking money for service I don't have or want.

Checking my account because pay pal had some concerns. I'm paying this $14.95 every month for nothing. Stop charging my account immediately.
I consider this theft by deception. I don't nor have I ever listened to audible books.
Browsing the web site should not automaticaly make a monthly charge of $14.95. I never saw a book I was interested in listening to.

I was charged for a download that I did not authorize amount of $16. I would like it to fully refunded to my account, please. I do not appreciate anybody this to my account. The name of the company is Audible ADBl co/Bill New Jersey. I have 3 special needs and one of them sis not know that it will cost money for the downloaded book. Please refund the money.
