I put in an order on their website (6/9/23) for a ticket and they did not supply one. flight booked for afternoon of 10/9/23.
I made an obvious mistake, and put my full name into the first name text box, and they did not check contact me.
They then mistakenly made a booking with an ineligible name and then wanted me to pay in excess of $200 to fix their error.
They refused to waive their $75 fee and wanted to pass on the airlines fees for making an ineligible booking without a second name.
I rang the airline (Virgin) and the only reason they could not change it for free - was that they had an agreement with Aunt Betty that they couldn't break.
I rang Aunt Betty several times and I could not get a straight answer as to why you couldn't use my name, when I am able to book with Virgin directly using that name "Aaron Bristow" and also have a Velocity membership with them under that name (7/9/23).
I requested a refund upon being notified of their mistake and was refused (7/9/23).
I believe I should have my money returned in full as they have not provided the service I paid for.
Desired outcome: Refund.
