I just found out that my 9 month old kitten, Sophie, has the FeCv (Coronavirus) which could possible lead to Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP). I have to wait two agonizing weeks before I can find out if my kitten is going to survive this or not. Not every cat that is diagnosed with FeCV will get FIP, but the whole idea of it being a very real possibility is frightening. I suggest to anyone that is considering purchasing a cat from Rossetta Bailey (or anyone else for that matter), to please have your kitten (and the parents) test for this virus. I sent an e-mail right away to Mrs. Rossetta, to inform her that the kitten tested positive, hoping that she would get her cats tested. She was not at all interested in my situation... she simply stated to me, that it was my fault (which is not possible). My kitten has never been around any other cats since she has been in my possession. She has been to the vets, but no direct contact that it could have been spread. Or has she been "stressed" while I have had her. It is sad to me that the best response that she gave me is a quick, " I hope your kitten gets better". The heartache that I am going through and what my children may have to go through, on top of the staggering vet bills, I urge each one of you to make sure your kitten is tested before you even get it, along with documentation. I hate the thought of my kitten not even seeing her first birthday!
I am not posting this to slur Mrs. Rossetta's name. I am just doing what I think is right. I would want to know if I before I brought a kitten into my home under the pretense of loving it and having it for many many years to come, only to find out that I may only have her for 8 months at most.
As of right now, there is no cure for FIP, it is a deadly disease that takes the life of any cat diagnosed with it. I don't even have the options to have her treated. Like I said as of right now, Jan 25 2012 she only has the Corona Virus, I have to wait two weeks to determine if this virus has mutated into the Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP). I will post what the findings are once I receive them.
I pray that this post spares someone the agony of what I am going through. This is my only intention. Have any kitten you are buying tested for it before you buy them, or get it in the contract that the kitten is totally healthy!

There are thousands of kinds of corona virus, and they are inherent in the cat. The great majority of cats reised in a multi cat enviroment will test positive for corona. Stress can also cause a cat to test positive for corona---including the stress of being rehomed or changing foods.
The odds this cat will develop FIP are minimal.
If your vet claims to be able to tell in two weeks that your cat is going to come down with FIP, well, he's working a miracle. No one, even the researchers at UC-Davis know which corona virus mutates, and what causes the mutation.
Again, testing for corona virus tells you absolutely nothing. It does, however, cause most cat owners to insist on a battery of tests, which increase their vet bills. Who profits from this? Hmmmm?

Whomever has read the above complaint is this Rossetta's fault? Does it make her a bad breeder? Please advise, thank you

Every single one of my breeders have been tested and you are welcome to the results from Gwinnett Animal Clinic, Dr. Cook and Dr. Wallis at [protected]. This customer had four small boys who could have stressed the kitten out (I am not stating that the kitten was definitely stressed)---maybe. Also, I have no proof that all the shots were done on her kitten. Also, I have no proof that the customer could have possibly let the kitten outdoors which is one of the worse things that can be done to a kitten. Ragdolls are a strictly indoor cat. I have numerous references of happy customers should anyone want a reference. Also, anyone is welcome to call my GA Dept of Agriculture State Inspector as to how my cattery is run and how my kittens are treated. You cannot get corona results in two weeks, it is impossible. The customer had two of her children on the day that she picked up the kitten. I drove four hours up and four hours home, plus the customer was an hour late (no fault of her own since there was a hurricane Irene); but I took nine hours out of my day to deliver this kitten to her for a fee of $100 dollars. Also, there is no proof for me as a breeder where this kitten went, if the food was changed and what type of conditions the kitten was in. I hope that the conditions were good, but we do not know that. I have also had all my breeders HCM tested from UC Davis. Should anyone have questions, please feel free to call me at [protected] or send an email to me at baileysrags@gmail.com. I can provide proof that my kittens are healthy. No, I am not a perfect breeder since I am breeding live animals. Kittens will sometimes get a cold or an eye infection, which will happen in all catteries or that is my opinion. Also, come and check out my facility and check out my kittens before jumping to conclusions. I stated in an email to the customer that I had all my breeders tested for feline leukemia, feline aids, heartworm and HCM testing; but this customer failed to state the facts. I have all her emails saved and have turned everything over to my Attorney. I am sure that her husband does not know of the material that has been put on the internet leading customers to believe that I have unhealthy kittens. I also have every single kitten Vet checked before they are allowed to leave my home. She signed a contract that stated FIP is not covered. The corona virus will remain dormanant in cats until they are stressed and then become sick. I am not trying to accuse the customer of anything against her kitten. The customer also signed the contract that the kitten was healthy when I delivered the kitten to her. As stated, call me (Rosetta Bailey) with any questions.

Also, ifyou notice the picture of the kitten (Sophie); the kitten does not in my opinion look too sick. It is a beautifully marked kitten that looks healthy. I am no Vet, but the kitten does not look sick to me. Any quesitions, call Rosetta Bailey at [protected]. Customers should educate themselves on the corona virus as the above potential customer has seem to already done. No, I do not claim to be perfect, but no kitten leaves without being checked by Dr. Cook or Dr. Wallis at the Gwinnett Animal Clinic at [protected]. I have spend thousands of dollars having my breeders tested. My cattery is spotless and so are my kittens. Thank you. Rosetta Bailey of Baileys Ragdolls

We had a sick kitten that died then she replaced it with another sick kitten. Both had upper respiratory infections both had eye infections. After 4 visits to the vet and $300.00 both kittens suffered and died. We were in constant communication with her and yes we got a clean bill of health from her VET. That doesn't mean anything we had both of the kittens within three days at the Vet because they were sick. I do not know if her cats have feline leukemia or something else, I only know that we have a 5 yr old that is upset because his cat died. We have put in countless hours trying to make sure this cat would live to no avail. Every three hours we fed it by mouth the food and milk the vet sold us. If this lady wanted to do what was right; contract or no contract (by the way she does not guarantee the second kitten) she would make this right because its the right thing to do. This was the first animal my grandson has ever had and I must tell you it has been a nightmare. How anyone can feel that this is right by people or animals is beyond me!

She finally quit breeding! She purchased a kitten from a novice breeder and knowingly made the kitten sick by bathing him and keeping him wet in a cold, air-conditioned house. The kitten got sick and died a few months later.

This breeder cost me years of taking care of a chronically ill cat that I purchased from her. Rosetta Bailey can not possibly have a conscience in my opinion. How did you discover that she has quit breeding?
