Proof of vaccinations not available
It was only when I came across this board was I ever thankful I had done my research. Thank you to all who have posted on this board and making the public aware of GallaCattery behaviours - recently it was disclosed and confirmed over the phone and email the vaccinations would be completed on her latest litter of kittens. However, when asked for records, Tania simply returned my deposit. Records of immunization were needed for city registration as well. It is unfortunate Tania is taking this risk and potentially putting unknown health liability on innocent families - vaccines are so very important for the health of these animals. If you have recently purchased or plan to purchase a kitten from Gallacattery, I highly recommend following up on what she promises - including proof of vaccines.
Overcharged for poor quality sick kitten and would not take back
I had an excellent experience with her once with a cat I purchased so I went back again to purchase a second cat as a friend for my first. I paid 1000 dollars and saw pics of the kitten. When I picked up the kitten he was sneezing but I didn't think anything of it. As he grew over the weeks it became clear he was sick with snot coming out of his nose. I paid 300 dollars to have tests and more money for medication. When I told Tanya about the sneezing she said he was fine when he left, which was not true, but shows her character. I told her everyone was remarking that he has a big nose for a persian and i told her i was concerned because he was starting to look different from my other cat she bred. She told me his nose would change as he grew. That was a lie. Its clear now the kitten she sold me is poor quality for a persian--he has a big nose--and i paid top dollar for this kitten and expected to get a high quality cat. When I complained several times that the kitten was very sick and not the quality i expected for the money she didn't care at all and would not exchange the kitten. she told me i had 48 hours to return the cat and that was it...but it took me more time to realize the cat was sick with an infection and was not high quality as I expected...very disappointed and not a reputable breeder. she is only interested in making money. I could have paid a fraction of the cost for this kitten to any backyard breeder but i went to her for a show quality cat. I did NOT get a show quality cat. Very disappointed.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer's satisfaction.
We recently just went thru some of the same as posted above, our cat was sneezing and watering eyes on way home I didn’t think much of it till reading all this and now am quite worried. Toma or whatever her name is (as she does use fake names and didn’t once mention to us about Galla Cattery, I only realized as the bogus health guarantee she gave had this name on it and she scratched out a bunch of stuff but not that. We sent her updates and same thing no response or when I mentioned this website and asked if our kitten even got its first shots and what vet she went on to tell me “she make the vaccine at home herself”? Is that legal anyways we are glad to have our kitten away from her even if it’s been a constant worry if she is healthy or going to develop this fip passed by mother
She also went on to say that “she think house is too cold and can bring her back for full refund” “Don’t think she at right home” excuse me? I went on to tell her it’s a good thing we don’t care what u think . I was very upset that a reputable business Owner would act in such a non professional way. She doesn’t know our home and to be honest We live in a brand new home Heat stays at 73 we have spent just as much on toys and beds etc as we did on the cat. I have two young kids that are totally attached already our family couldn’t live our little girl anymore, so I just pray our little one is healthy in future. Just a little concerning when “toma” can’t give a vet name. I have a feeling our kitty hasn’t had any shots as that would require putting out money on her end. I feel if she is going to come here to our country the least she could do is learn our language a little better as trying to understand or talk to this women is beyond frustrating. All you have to do is stand behind your health guarantee but all she does mention is the 48 hour clause meanwhile what is the healthy for a year part? I guess that is why she offered a new pet to replace but how scary. The health contract is void anyways and the seller and buyer contracts as well in my eyes as it’s fraudulent fake names numbers etc . Like I said I had no idea she was the owner of Galla cattery as she never once mentioned it and I see why. When I said to her you can see why this would be concerning reading all these horrible reviews and nothing back from her. Very cold and rude I don’t want to have anymore contact with this women but I can guarantee if my Little girl gets sick in next few months and it’s this same thing passed down from the mother I can promise I will have to have contact with her again. I wouldn’t be so worried if just one bad review but there are several scary reviews spanning over a decade. Not sure how someone gets away with this for this long I guess the changing names of names and number etc.
This woman is the biggest fraud and should be deported.
I bought my kitten from her in 2018 and went through a nightmare, just like all of the people above.
From the minute I got my cat home he was extremely weak, sneezing, had discharge coming out of eyes and nose.
Took him to vet at least 14 times on different issues. Cat has multiple chronic heath issues that are being passed by unhealthy mother.
Upper respiratory infection, serious crystals/bladder/kidneys issue. Chronic problem with an eye, that gets severely inflamed every 2months. Poor baby screams of pain and jumps zoo high up in the air, because he can't take it.
We have to give him narcotics type of pain medication :(
Breaks my heart.
Her response was pure ugliness. Said that she sold the cat healthy.
It was my final call that got her animal clinic completely fed up and they fired her. I spent thousands of dollars on treatment already. Cat has to be on meds and prescription food for the rest of his life now.
As many of you know Tania is now hiding the fact that cats are part of the infamous Galla Cattery. She frequently changes names and numbers. She is currently uses names
fatalchuk
and
Toma
Stay away from this evil as far as you can.
NO RECOMMENDATION FROM ME ! I purchased a Himalayan Persian from Tania Goryenko November of 2017. I paid $1150.00 which included my boy, carrier and shipping. Thank the good lord that I got to save him from that terrible breeder. She must only be in it for the money as out little boy was not the perfectly healthy kitten we thought we were getting. We picked him up at the airport. Normal for him to be scared with the transition he had just made. His eyes were a bit watery and he was sneezing every now and then. I assumed it was from being on the plane and probably being cold because it was November in Newfoundland. I left if for a few days for him to get adjusted to his new surroundings. After 4 days I contacted Tania Goryenko and her response was "And when did u get him? Why didn't.t report me when u get him just after 4 days. I have sold 5 kittens in last 4 days any body report me about any...?" I continued to correspond with her and her only response was "don't know what it is, check with health vet. I did take him to our local vet and the vet said he had a upper respiratory sinus infection. Sorry but that just don't happen when travelling on a plane. Our little boy was sick when she sent him to us. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL ! If you don't have the decency to care for those little kittens please DO NOT breed them. I would/will not ever recommend you ! I send you an update on the progress of my boy Meko and you didn't even respond...I guess that proves what I said earlier..."MONEY". I also have a Blue Point Ragdoll, (Koda) perfect boy ! The breed that I purchased Koda from did regular follow up on his progress to make sure he was healthy and happy in his new surroundings. To this day the breeder and I still touch base from time to time and she also comments on photos that I upload to Facebook.
I also had a terrible experience buying a male, 4 week old Persian kitten from Tania Gilmor (aka Tania Goryenko) responding to a Kijiji ad (another strike against ads on Kijiji!). Purchased it late Dec. 2017, and within days he was sneezing and had very heavy eye discharge. Soon thereafter, he was lethargic and suffered loss of appetite. Long story short, after visits to an animal hospital and several vet. clinics, the kitten died within 7 weeks of purchase.
We were all very devastated, having witnessed our poor little friend, who we had grown extremely attached to, suffer as he did, passing in my daughters arms. The specialist vet. report stated an entire list of congenital problems the he had that had contributed to his death. Tania did not care. She offered a replacement kitten (she did not agree to returning the purchase cost), but we turned this option down since the vet. in Brampton (McQueen Animal Hospital), where she took our (her) kittens for the initial booster vaccination, stated that they no longer do business with her due to her unscrupulous practices. This was the icing on the cake. You know someone cannot be trusted when the vet. clinic fires them!
HER KITTENS ARE NOT HEALTHY! NO BREEDER LICENCE! DO NOT PURCHASE FROM SUCH AN UNSCRUPULOUS INDIVIDUAL!
I had two kittens from this breeder. both of them died of FIP. one in December 2016 one in June 2017.
Don't buy from this lady...I bought a male Persian in December and he was extremely ill when I picked him up.I drove 4 hours to pick this kitten up also. The drive home he was sneezing Like crazy and his eyes were leaking white stuff. I took h to the vet the day after and turns out he has an upper respiratory infection. I paid $650 for him plus now my vet bill. I called her to complain and her response was for me to bring him back sick and she will return my money and resell him...lol, she's nuts...I couldn't believe she even suggested that. I kept him and dealt with the bill. This kitten also got my 11 month old cat sick as well so I had to treat him also. She has been reported to revenue Canada and the human society of Brampton, she needs to get caught. Do not buy anything from this crazy lady.
I am glad you had a good experience with her. I too found a wonderful breeder, who is really committed to the health of her kittens. We got him in early Dec. and he is the healthiest, happiest cat ever, also has the cute flat face. He is the light of our lives and is helping us recover from our loss. This time we got all the papers, and he is registered, and was already fixed, our papers go back five generations. I hope your kitten brings you as much joy as ours has. When you say she was forthcoming, did she tell you about the problems she has had, I would hope that she did. Best of luck.
I bought a cream kitten from her for the first time earlier in November (2015), so to be completely fair things may or may not have been different before then. He was healthy and Tania was very forthcoming. After reading this forum I was extremely worried that I put down the deposit. However after meeting her, speaking with her in person, and asking for her vaccination records I left fairly content. The kitten has grown a little and so far has been very active, albeit a little loquacious. I'm happy with both her kitten and her service. If I ever needed more than one cat, I'd get another from Tania because I absolutely love the look of the breeds she sells. In particular, the flat face of my little Charly. I must warn though that she speaks broken English and that may have caused some degree of miscommunication for some of the above complaints, but I can't speak for them. Hope this helps put some perspective. Those who had terrible experiences would pile on in this forum while those who had satisfactory experiences would remain silent so I felt the need to share mine. But as the original poster made clear it's clearly hit or miss. Best of luck, No cat, I'd have hated it if my kitten died :(
I finally got my money back, but had to call a lawyer to get it, I am so glad my association with this woman is over. Will be sure and do more research before I get another one.
