Billed $75 a month for a year after subscription was canceled
Having never received a single confirmation of billing, nor a response to a request to cancel our account in both September 2022 and September 2023, barefootstudent.com billed our American Express account $75 per month for 13 months. Confirmation of these billings was never sent by email, and when we requested that the charges be refunded, we received a boilerplate response stating that they could provide a $75 refund a "courtesy."
American Express, agreeing with our dispute, processed a chargeback for three more months worth of these illegal charges, but barefootstudent.com still owes our business $600.
Recommendation: Buyer beware.

Great platform from both a job seeker and employer perspective. Site is easy to use and the support has been great! I had an issue with getting my job to show up in their search results and was able to quickly contact their support team to make sure the account was re-enabled. Their team was quick to respond to my request and I was able to hire a candidate off their site!

Barefoot Student is used across all departments of our business. It is one of the best hiring tools we have, and since we are a small business it is hard for us to post on our own site for candidates. Having a one-stop job posting site is the best HR solution that a business like us needs!

They still have yet to respond to my requests, but continue to make transactions from my company's subscription. I was originally going to switch the employee account that this subscription is attached to, but with such unprofessional negligence, now I want to cancel the subscription overall. There's still no way to do that since they NEVER RESPOND!

I firmly believe that Barefoot Student surpasses other competing job boards by bringing a higher quality candidate to the table. I am a true believer in looking at metrics and I can say without any hesitancy that for almost every single position I work on (or seek candidates for a client company I am working with), the best matched candidates are being provided by Barefoot Student - in addition to a greater number of candidates for me to review, screen, etc. Quality over quality is a good mantra to live by and I see this with Barefoot Student's results for my needs.

I wish I could give a zero star review. We decided to give Barefoot Student a try for a month. We paid the $75 and never received an activation email. When I attempted to contact their customer service team to ask about the activation email, I learned that they have no phone number and you can only email them through the message portal on their site. Despite many attempts at communication, no one from Barefoot Student has ever responded. This is either a scam or an extremely poorly exectued business model. Don't give them your money.

I agree with the other 1 star reviews. This is a spam company. I signed up with them originally in October. They require you to give them a credit card which they use to charge you monthly but say that you can cancel at any time. And, when you try and cancel, they are extremely hard to get a hold of. I left numerous messages. It took me over 6 months to finally get the charges to stop. AND I did not get one applicant for the one job that posted. For that same job I received over 60 applications in 2 days from Indeed.com another hiring service. Now whenever I post a job on indeed I get an email saying "try Barefoot Student to post your job." Ugh - such an unscrupulous company trying to poach from another company. DO NOT us e this company.

March 9 I opened an account with Barefootstudent.com as a premium employer for $75.00/month. I was to receive an activation email which never came. I checked email/spam/junk - nothing. I requested a second activation and still nothing. I grew concerned and did a little research and found numerous complaints. I sent an email to cancel the membership but no reply. Any assistance you can give to get a refund of $75.00 and cancel this membership would be appreciated.
I contacted Barefoot Student about charges to my credit card in October . They refunded my card $75 for one month but have been continually charging me double (two separate charges of $75) ever since. This is fraud. No one ever answers the phone. I have disputed the charges today with my cc company. People need to know not to do business with them!

I've contacted my credit card company to dispute the charges, credit issued by Barefootstudent for March & April, then they continue charging me in May. Here's their last deceptive reply about refunding: 'This message is regarding your Complaint ID redacted - Barefootstudent.com. Hi Bernard Mallala! We understand your concern about the auto-renewal of your Employer Membership. Subscriptions renew automatically until canceled, a detail that was clear upon joining BarefootStudent.com. Many members appreciate this feature for continuous access to our student community. Refunds are typically not provided after 60 days, but we've made an exception and refunded the last 6 months of charges. To refund the remaining amount, please send a digital invoice to [protected]@barefootstudent.com. Our payment system, like most credit card companies, cannot refund payments after 190 days. Thanks! Barefoot Student'
