In July of 2021 I purchased a vehicle from Birmingham Auto Auction. Upon purchasing the vehicle at the lot, I was told the vehicle was in great condition and it started and ran. The vehicle purchase price was over 20,000 dollars and for the model which was a 2013 Ford I thought that was a great price.
After the sale I towed the truck to the house. I was happy that I got this so-called great deal. When I went to crank the truck up it wouldn't start. I then called the auction to make them aware of this and was told that I needed a PCM Reset but they said there was none available for purchase through the manufacturer. He stated that a service center in Cullman fixed it previously, but he said he felt they would rip me off and tell me there wasn't one available. I was then told that they would pay half to get it fixed because I had spent all of my savings to purchase this vehicle for my business. After trying to follow back up with them the ignored my calls for months. Finally, I was able to get in touch with someone that then told me that they wouldn't help me and to just take that lost. I have called around to the dealerships trying to get the problem resolved but the part is hard to locate for this model. I feel they should have honored what they said about helping with the cost and repair because obviously they knew this issue before selling the vehicle and didn't disclose the information before purchase based on text messages and phone conversations.
Desired outcome: I would like for them to honor their promise and help locate and pay the half for the repairs to fix the issue or full refund for selling a faulty vehicle.
