Booked a room at the Hyatt Cambridge, MD for 2 rooms in May. Went through the Hyatt website and was diverted to what turns out to be "Book aroom.com". Never knew this until we called to confirm our reservations for one night in September and learned from the Hyatt that there was a third party involved. Never received any confirmation info from "Bookaroom.com" Then we found out that the reservation is non-refundable or that the date could be moved up a day because of a hurricane rain event coming on the original date of our stay. Bookaroom.com will not call the Hyatt to see if the room can be moved up a day and the Hyatt won't call Bookaroom.com either. Neither party seems to value the fact that a customer needs assistance in resolving this matter an we are stuck. Going to look into suing the Hyatt and Book aroom.com for false advertising and fraud since there was no disclosure that Bookaroom.com was acting as an authorized agent for the Hyatt Hotel. Selected the Hyatt instead of Motel 6 because of their heritage and standing in the hotel industry. Should have booked with Motel 6 - they care about their customers and provide better "CUSTOMER SERVICE". Bookaroom.com is exactly what the name sounds like - a scam outfit. Looks like the Hyatt is not much better as they won't make any effort to resolve a simple issue. BEWARE of both.

The website was easy to navigate and had a wide selection of accommodations to choose from. We were able to find a great hotel in the heart of the city at a reasonable price.

The booking process was smooth and hassle-free. We received a confirmation email right away and were able to easily modify our reservation when our plans changed. When we arrived at the hotel, everything was exactly as we expected. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff was friendly and helpful.

One thing we really appreciated about Bookaroom was the transparency. We knew exactly what we were getting before we arrived, and there were no hidden fees or surprises. It was a refreshing change from our previous experiences with other booking sites.

So, I tried to book a hostel in Paris through Bookaroom, which said it had cancellation options. But when I needed to cancel, they didn't let me and charged me more than 30% of the reservation. It's a total scam, and I don't recommend using them, especially if you're booking internationally. Better to find another site that won't rip you off like these guys.

I'm so disappointed with this website. They should be more transparent about being a third-party site and not trick people into thinking they are booking directly with the hotel. It's not fair to ruin someone's vacation like that. I would not recommend using Bookaroom.

But still, I did some research and found out that Expedia was offering the same room for $10 cheaper than getaroom.com. And get this, getaroom.com actually says that if you find a cheaper room, they'll give you a refund or at least refund you the difference. But guess what? They don't!

Honestly, this website is a total scam. You really need to watch out and never book through them. I mean it, NEVER BOOK THROUGH THIS WEBSITE!

In my opinion, the difference between a 5-star and a 1-star company is how they treat their customers. Bookaroom could have easily taken care of me and still kept my money, but they chose not to. I hope that in the future, they will prioritize their customers and show a little bit of empathy.

So, I was browsing on a hotel website and I thought I was making a reservation directly with the hotel itself. But, guess what? Bookaroom.com had sneaked into their website without me even noticing. I didn't see their name anywhere nor was there any indication that a service of any kind actually took my reservation. I was completely unaware of what was happening behind the scenes.

After I made the reservation, I checked my bank account online and found out that the money for the reservation was immediately taken from my account, along with a whopping $368 booking fee! I was shocked and confused. I had no idea that such a huge amount would be charged as a booking fee. I was furious and decided to call them to get some answers.

To my surprise, I reached a woman who was working from her home. She told me that the entire amount of hotel cost plus the bookaroom.com fee was non-refundable. I was taken aback by this information as it was not disclosed during my booking process online. I asked her to connect me with her manager, but she said that she didn't have one. I also asked for the company's address, but she didn't have that either. I was left with no recourse and no one to talk to. She absolutely did not care about my situation and was very matter of fact. She had no customer service skills whatsoever.

To make matters worse, when I contacted the hotel manager, he had never even heard of bookaroom.com. This was a huge red flag for me. I realized that I had fallen for a scam and had lost $1,500 because I had to cancel my trip due to covid. It was unbelievable!

In conclusion, I would advise everyone to be very careful when making reservations online. Always double-check the website you are using and make sure that you are dealing with a legitimate company. Don't make the same mistake I did and fall for a scam like bookaroom.com. It's not worth the risk!
