Called and cancelled service however still charged for two months
Called and cancelled service however still charged for two months. I am going through a divorce and was ordered to allow my wife to live in the residence until it sold. I left the house and called to have the internet shut off mid February. The house sold at the beginning of March. My wife took the modem with her and it was placed in storage. I just got the modem back a week ago mind you it's May 7th today. When I called in to find my payoff in February I asked to have the service disconnected and I paid the bill up through February til March. Today I go to get the internet turned on at my new address with the modem and Buckeye tells me that I owe them $245 before reconnection. I explained there is no way since I asked for service to be shut off and they admitted they saw I paid up until March. However they claim there was data usage on the modem from March until now. Impossible since it has been in storage and under a court order in our divorce for separating belongings. They were very rude and said in a nasty voice well we don't see a disconnection call from you so you owe us. Which is is Buckeye your associate didn't follow through with the disconnection when I paid your high monthly bill current through March or you saw fake data on a modem that hasn't been plugged in for months until today? Since your a monopoly in the area I have little choices so your able to hold me ransom for money I don't owe you. The is unfair business practices now I know why you have such a low customer rating. I don't owe you as I paid you up until I CALLED to have it disconnected. You need to credit the money I don't owe you and start my services. Or we will end up in litigation. What's honest and fair is you stop making false claims after looking at the account for 5 seconds then pretending like a supervisor looked at it. They wouldn't even let me talk to a manager just came back on the phone and said my supervisor looked at it and there is nothing we can do since we don't see a call from you to disconnect. Then I heard a voice in the background say "tell them we saw data on the modem" I have worked IT for years you didn't see data because IT 101 if it isn't plugged in and powered there is not data used. And modems don't have counters as well. Oh I also told them that in February I went into the store on Talmadge and told them my situation of my divorce to make sure I wouldn't be charged for the modem that was locked up and stored. They said it's no issue just call us when you get the modem and we will get it setup at your new residence. Well this was all a lie. If it sounds like I'm angry it's because I am. I'm being ransomed here by this monopoly. I still need their services but I won't pay a huge debt I don't owe! I did what I was suppose to and being faulted for their shoty work and short falls of their employees. Here's an idea for the future maybe also have an online option for cancelling as well that way if your employees don't follow through at least computers don't lie. I want this made while now...
