Bumper 2 Bumper Towing, located in Temple Hills, MD participates in illegal and fradulent business practices. This company is contracted by several apartment complexes in the Prince Georges's county area. The tow truck drivers search the apartment complexes for UNLOCKED vehicles and remove parking passes or stickers in order to receive a commission for towing the vehicle. On one occasion a tow truck driver broke into a vehicle with a "jimmy", removed the parking pass, just to tow the vehicle. I believe that this vehicle was towed with the intended purpose of theft but the driver made it to the lot in enough time to retrieve it. If you have any similar stories please post and also contact the Better Business Bureau. www.bbb.org

If they're doing that someone will eventually be in jail for it. Cameras are your friend here.
Bumper to Bumper towed my car one friday night because my complex switched over to new parking passes and I didnt have the correct pass in my window. Thatwas fine my mistake. I went to the rental officeto get a new pass. Unfortunatley they were out of the hanging rear view mirror passes so they gave me a temporary pass that was good until July 15th. On July 9th the very next friday they towed my car again stating that the pass was flipped over. I know thats a lie I check that pass every evening before I get out because I dont want to be towed again. Funny how there is another car parked in the same lot without a parking pass or TAGS! that's been sitting there for weeks they didnt tow. When asked why they didn't tow that one there was silence and a bunch of jumbled up words. They wont tow that one because if the owner didn't bother to get tags or a parking pass then they probably dont care if it towed and that's means less space for legitimate cars and NO MONEY for them.
I have to agree with these comments. My husband and I have live in a townhouse community which requires you to use a parking permit. Our parking permit has been displayed in our window for the last 2 years. This morning when my husband went out to go to work the car was gone. We assumed it was probably stolen, however, my husband noticed that several of our neighbors cars where gone as well so we called Bumper2Bumper Towing and they said that they had our vehicle. I asked why do you have our vehicle when the parking pass is displayed in the window. He stated that it has to be visible at all times. I told him it was on the rearview mirror where it has been for the last 2 years. We get to the lot and someone removed the parking pass and placed it neatly on the side of the driver seat. Not to mention that the guy who completed our transaction appeared to be very nervous at the time. We believe their driver opened our door and removed the pass so that he could tow it and get the fee. We will be complaining to our home owners association about this. It may take some time but I will definitely get to the bottom of this and get my money back.

B2B is really messy and it's surprising that the local authorities have done anything about them yet. My car was towed from The Milano in Oxon Hill in July 2012. They claim that I did not have a permit in my car. Understand that I lived in that apartment complex since November 2011 and was NEVER towed, because I HAD a permit attached to the back of my rearview mirror. And suddenly the permit just DISAPPEARED. I contacted the rental office and asked that they check their surveillance footage and was told by the property manager at the time that he'd check it and get back to me. Well, he was actually transitioning to another property at the time (unbeknownst to me) and I allowed him a week or two to get back with me. When I finally called him back for status on the footage, I found that he had already left the position and his replacement told me that they do not check footage from around the property unless a "real" crime had been committed. "Like if someone was mugged or robbed", she told me. If kicking out $175 for someone removing my permit from my car isn't being robbed, I don't know what is.
Contacting B2B during their listed business hours was hard. I called as soon as they were to open and didn't reach anyone for an hour afterwards. The dude at the yard when I went to retrieve my vehicle was okay. Just doing his job. But, the folks out there towing are foul. Point blank. And these apartment managers that allow this to go on are just as foul. This was my first experience living in MD. I've never experienced no bull like this in DC nor VA. The apartment managers take care of their tenants. After all, we are the properties real bread and butter, unlike the lil kickbacks (I'm sure) they get from illegal tows on their property. But then again, the property managers probably get no more than $30k/year. Only the big wigs really benefit from the rent we pay. So, maybe this is why the property managers don't give a ### about what happens to the folks living in their complexes?
I say, contact corporate and/or the local authorities if this happens to you. Don't take it laying down!
I waited and waited, believing The Milano's property manager(s) would do their job and "manage" their property properly. By the time I realized that they would be of no assistance to me, 3 weeks had gone by. I then attempted to contact B2B via their little email form on their site and I never received a response. Had I known from the start that the people I pay rent to every month would have acted as my enemy rather than an ally or at the very least, neutral, I would have called the police as soon as I woke up that morning and filed my vehicle as stolen and allowed the city to follow up and make them hand over their surveillance footage. I know for a FACT that they either broke into my car and removed my sticker or that I left my car unlocked. That's the only way to explain a sticker that remained stuck to the rearview for over 8 months just disappearing, never to be seen again.
And someone else mentioned in a complaint that their vehicle was damaged by B2B but the towing company claims the damage was there beforehand, but they had no pictures to prove to the vehicle owner that the damage was there prior to the tow. This is yet, again, another of their little tricks. When I picked my vehicle up there was no damage, but on the carbon copy I was given when I picked my car up, there is a diagram of a car. They indicated that both my rear and my front bumper had damage. This isn't true. There is slight damage to the front: A bent tag holder. There is no damage to the rear. Why would they indicate that there was damage to both my bumpers?! Guess this is only to cover them, just in case the vehicle is damaged while (illegally) in their hands.
Rent is cheap in Oxon Hill and the surrounding areas, but I'll never move back to this area without living in a DETACHED HOUSE. I've even read complaints of B2B removing permits and towing from townhouses in the area (where many people are purchasing and paying Home Owner Association fees on top of mortgage! On top of that they also have to pay for these bums taking their cars illegally?!). They are a mess. And seemingly above the law and good friends with the property managers.
I have contacted the Attorney General to report Bumper to Bumper. Lets see if they investigate this corrupt Towing Company in Prince Georges County. The police are aware of the multiple calls that they get every day regarding the illegal practices of this towing company!
Bumper to bumper need to get what they deserve quick...they towed my car during the snow storm we had look at the picture you can't even see the lines on the street they said I double parked...
FOR COMPLAINTS REGARDING PG COUNTY TOWING PRACTICES OF BUMPER 2 BUMPER, CONTACT PG COUNTY TOWING HEARING AT [protected]. I REPORTED THIS COMANY TODAY UNDER THE GUIDANCE OF POLICE CAPTAIN SULLIVAN AND THEY ARE ABOUT TO BE UNDER SERIOUS INVESTIGATION. BUMPER 2 BUMPER IS BREAKING ALL LAWS INCLUDING NOT BEING AVAILABLE TO RELEASE VEHICLES 24 HOURS A DAY WHICH IS MD STATE LAW.
THEY ALSO ATTEMPTED TO CHARGE THE INFLATED 18 HOUR FEE WHETHER THEY HAVE BEEN IN POSSESSION OF YOUR CAR FOR 18 HOURS OR NOT.
I CALLED THE POLICE. IT WAS NOT UNTIL I WAS DONE GIVING THE WORKERS DESCRIPTION TO 911 OPERATOR THAT HE DECIDED AGAINST CHARGING ME THE TRUMPED UP FEES. I WAITED FOR POLICE TO ARRIVE ANYWAY.
My vehicle was towed from my reserved assigned parking space and I was told it was in that space for more than 48 hours. The green sticker reads improperly parked, with no clue as to what improper was.
Here is the where the car was located
Bumper to Bumper towing is the most the illegal towing company in Prince George's County, I believe the community should file a class action lawsuit against company/owner. They towed my car before 9:00pm and stated that it was a 24 hour towing policy in which it wasn't. They stated that it was no pass in the window and in which I didn't require one for the time that I was there visiting. He also continuously argued with me not even knowing what actual took place, the owner Rasheed was very unprofessional and we were able to capture video footage of his behavior. I was able to pick up my car and he stated that they only take cash only in which by law they have to accept at least two types of credit cards. Then to top it all off I had to go find a ATM Machine to get the cash and take it back to the driver to get the car and then follow the driver to the 7/11 because he didn't have any change to receive my change from my payment. I have never seen anything like this before ever. I am contacting the PG County Tow Unit Office, BBB and the Department of Environmental Business & Licensees.
I had the exact same experience
