Busuu.com claims to be a free language learning site. However, the free aspects of busuu.com are very limited. In order to get more benefit from this site, users are enticed to pay for a 'gold' membership for one, three or six months. Busuu.com will automatically renew the membership just before it runs out FOR THE SAME LENGTH OF TERM THAT THE MEMBERSHIP WAS INITIALLTY TAKEN OUT FOR, i.e. if you have taken out a 6 month membership, then busuu.com will automatically renew it for another six months if you have not cancelled before the end of the initial membership. Should you decide to cancel your membership, say after one month, you will already have paid for six months and busuu.com will NOT REFUND any money already paid, effectively tying you into a contract. Shame on them for their awful business methods.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer's satisfaction.
I recently downloaded the app and didn't like the services. I cancelled my membership, deleted the app and was charged 97.00 still. How do I get my monies back I've tried to get a refund but my card distributor said I had to reach out to Busuu.

Very disappointing BUSUU I have always been aware of companies that used the auto payment but on this occasion I still got caught out.
Well you got your money out of me and wont pay it back but you wont get any further money so enjoy this scam. You could have at least advised me before you took the auto payment out but you choose to catch people out instead.
Read the fine print. What a joke.
I have had exactly the same issue, no notice autorenewal.
Busuu have not sorted this out, they are repeated refusing to issue me with a refund!
I just saw that I was charged through PayPal. This renewal was not meant to be kept, and you sent an email reminder on the same day of the renewal. Please acknlowdge my cancellation and refund request. I do not use nor plan to use the service for now. .Please beware that this predatory auto-renewal leaves a bad taste on users
