Did not sign up
When looking at dating sites many months ago one I looked at was c - date. I did not sign up to c - date.
Global collection services are threatening legal steps! The reason I didn’t sign up was because of my age. I am 76 on the 15 July 2023. Please resolve this matter, my daughter saw the letter today, it’s very embarrassing at my age. Thank you.
Desired outcome: No more debt collection letters please

Terminate any so called subscription
I have been trying to check on my subscription to c-date.co.uk I am not even sure I signed up. I cannot connect to even check it as upon login it goes to a message saying you are being sued and cannot see anything until after payment of the unwanted fine. There is no contact details anywhere and even when given the contact details are nonsense. The only time I did nmanage to sign in it told me I could not cancel the subscription excepts for the last day of the month. Even then it would not let me! This clearly a scam site and it is high time this was shut down by the authuorties or at least made to trade fairly.
I refuse to pay the fine and would be happy to see them in small claims court to defend the action. To avoid this they are using a german legal firm presumably to try and get a EU CCJ or equiv against you as you cannot contest it! TOTAL SCAM. I am now charging them my professional fees for their abuse and wasting my time! Themys & [censored] ref 84DXXJD2

Unauthorised charges
Hello,
A company called Ecollect has been harassing me on your behalf for a service I haven't used or had any interest in.
I will not be paying the charge and have emailed you before but never got a response.
My email address is [protected]@sky.com.
The company is threatening legal action despite me telling them on multiple occasions that I welcome that prospect since I know the case will be thrown out of court since you can't charge someone for a service that wasn't used (and the alleged 'client' has no memory of).
Desired outcome: Please terminate any account I have registered (as requested), withdraw these charges and email with confirmation of doing so
Hi,
Email just sent
Thanks
This company needs to be shut down so they stop causing people unnecessary stress in already stressful financial times.
This company said to send the s request to delete my subscription by email which I did. If you try to download the cancellation form you can't download it.
They say that they try to make cancellation of subscriptions simple in their Terms and conditions. In the same T&C's They state that the only way to cancel the subscription is by request with a signed declaration.
One section of the T&C's will say that you need to cancel within 7 days of the renewal date. Another part with say that you need to cancel within 14 days of renewal. Then I'm guessing they will say that it's all straight forward and within the law.

gb-2022-05-21, [protected], this is a company based in switzerland , they use fake models ( bots ), they dont say anything when you sign up about on going subscriptions , they have no way of cancelling your account and now they have a debt agency threatening me with bailiffs , an amount of £186.47 , they are threatening with legal proceedings , interest , debt scoring agencies , i cant believe this scam company is allowed to do this . i have till the 24th october 2022 till they start the legal proceedings. thanks mark
Desired outcome: dont have to pay bill.
Got the same problem. I found it impossible to cancel online so stopped payments. This resulted in demands for £70. Twice the monthly subscription. I thought this outrageous, but phoned the company as I was unable to settle online as their Bank Sort codes differ from the UK. The Paterson I was speaking to said the payments section was busy but they would call back. I heard nothing until recently when I had a text message from German Lawyers, who had a link in the message suggesting I use to to outline any defence or objections. I don’t open links in text messages.
Cancelled subscription
So I haven't used this site in months and was only paying for 1 month so I was aware. I cancelled the subscription within the first 5 days as stated you have 14 days to cancel at the beginning. I have emailed several times with no reply saying I have cancelled my account now they are claiming they have sent me emails (which I haven't received) and now they've sent me one saying "final payment reminder" I will not be paying anymore money to this rubbish site luckily I ran it through my PayPal so can contest it with them and also take it further if needed.
And if some [censored] from CS dating replies saying email this and that! It won't be happening I've emailed several times amd no response!
Desired outcome: Not paying what they think I owe, absolute joke of a site
Subscription
On the 5th October 2022 I decided, stupidly, to download a dating app without checking reviews first. If I had I would have known!
Please be more intelligent than I was and read the reviews first!
The app is absolutely atrocious, you set up a profile, pay for the premium thinking this will help you find a match, little do you know you are entering a rabbit hole of rubbish which ultimately ends up in completing an abstract impossible task, which is you needing to FAX a cancellation form, which you have to wait a week to become available on your profile, whilst they "verify" payment.
Once in you set your search criteria, I live in Cambridge so I set a radius of 40 miles, however this app decided I should have matches in Wales, Scotland and various other places which Google maps tell me are upwards of 60 miles away.
For the love of all sanity, this is one app you should definitely AVOID. All about getting you into a situation where you can't get away from the recurring payments nor find yourself a match remotely close to you. Go elsewhere there a plenty of other fish matching sites in the sea.
The attached photos show you what you have to do in order to get out of this horrible vicious money grabbing circle.
Hope this helps people not fool for this!
Desired outcome: Cancelled subscription and refund
Cancelled a recurring payment and tried to cancel subscription but still being chased for payment
I took out a trial membership at c-date on 28 August... I tried to cancel the subscription on the 20 September (8 days before the renewal date). The website said I have to cancel at least 7 days before renewal date and by fax, which I don't have (this is 2022). So I emailed them saying I wish to cancel my subscription and informing them I had cancelled my recurring payment. They replied on the 21st September acknowledging I wanted to cancel and saying I had to download a form, fill it in and send it back to them. I sent this form back via email on the 24 September. I am now being chased for payment even though I initially started this cancellation process in good time.
Desired outcome: Cancel membership and cancel monthly fee they say I owe
C-date
I paid for a subscription once on the 02/09/2022 thinking I could cancel it but there is no way to cancel it either over the phone or via e-mail as both phone numbers that are listed here say they are not in use and the E-mail addresses are not functional. There is no link to cancel on the website and they keep taking money out of my account. I have cancelled my cards and ordered new ones but this is purely a scam and other people online say they keep getting threatening E-mails about being taken to court from Luxembourg etc.
Desired outcome: I would like them to cancel all subscriptions and stop taking money from my account.
C date subscription
I signed up and it only took me a couple of days to realise that the site was a scam. I have tried cancelling account to no avail. I have emailed company several times. I have now cancelled card and all prepayments.
From other posts I expect at some point to receive debt collection letter. Can anyone help me with what to do. I have my intention clear to cancel, I have told company I have cancelled payments and want account taken down.
Dating Site
My experience with C-Date has been just the same as many other users that posted about their experience online. I decided to join the app to give it a try without agreeing to any recurrent subscription "the option I selected clearly said it was for one month only". Once I noticed that recurrent payments were made to a German company I tried to cancel my subscription without being able to (no clear procedure in place for cancellations) so I decided to contact my credit card company requesting cancellation of the payments. Now I keep on receiving emails from a debt collection agency based in Switzerland which I consider to be just as fraudulent as c-date. I would like to stress that the behaviour and moral standard of both companies are to be considered criminal. Now of course I would like to protect myself from any unlawful legal action they are trying to bring against me. I would like to put this to rest and will not pay a dime more than the month subscription I have already paid.
Desired outcome: Acknowledge my obligations were paid in full and instruct their debt collection agency to stop contacting me
C.Date misleading payment structure
I wish to complain about the misleading information and premium payment structure.
I was led to believe you have tens of thousands of members in the uk however i habe only had approx 10 in nearly a week. Hardly any have their photo's showing and when you ask they don't respon, in fact hardly any respond which makes me think they are auto generated bots.
I also wish to strongly complain about the way the payment structure is set up. In premium it stated 7.99 for 6 months. It did not say until a payment of 194.00 was taken that this is 7.99 daily. The information was not clear or transparent and I feel this is unethical. I did not intend to pay that much and certainly your service is lacking and not worth the extortionate fee.
I wish for a refund for the full amount and I reserve the right to take this matter to the trading and standards board.
Desired outcome: Acknowledgement and a full refund
Premium subscription
I signed up for the free subscription and had £40 taken out of my account a month later, it seems the only way to cancel it is by fax or printing out the cancellation form and sending it by post, I don't have access to a fax machine or a printer but would really like to cancel my subscription before they take anymore from my bank account. I don't want to use this service anymore, I don't need a refund I just want to cancel the service please.
Desired outcome: Cancellation of my subscription immediately
Dating site. False info
C date wasn't very clear on how much payment there was to be made. It stated £29.90 per month You then took £191.76 from my account without my permission. This I was not happy with I'm not a very rich person and that money means a lot to me also leaving me in financial hardship. I cancelled my service by cancelling my card this this was done within 14 days. I'm now been threatend by debt collection agency for more money.
there is lots of evidence out there on how more people have been scammed by c date.
Premium membership
I changed bank accounts and as a result my payment method on record was declined when renewal date came along.
Today I got a threatening email claiming that debt collection proceeding would take place if payment was not made within 7 days.
So I perhaps stupidly paid the £49.90 to avoid any issues that could impact my credit score or finances.
So now I am preventing from going to my Settings section due to supposed 'payment processing' period which in effect is just a way to prevent people from cancelling easily. So anyway previously I did want to cancel and the cancellation page stated I needed to send a FAX to cancel? Who in this day and age uses this method of communication. An obvious roadblock to prevent people from cancelling their membership.
I want to be rid of C Date.
Desired outcome: Immediate cancellation of my membership and a refund to the amount of £49.90.I can then hopefully delete my profile and be done with C Date.
Premium Membership collection
I briefly had a subscription to c-date having been in a foreign place and not knowing what dating sites to use. I paid my initial £9.99 and then tried to cancel my membership when I realised it was a scam. About 2 months after that (todays date) I was then emailed saying I owe £49.96 for my subscription or they would get in touch with a debt collector. I have paid the £49.96 and told my bank to cancel any further transaction after todays date. Would someone be able to clarify if they will now stop trying to take money? Or will I get another email in 2 months despite them saying they had indeed cancelled the recurring payment?
Desired outcome: C-date membership cancelled, account deleted and a refund
I prefer J4Date.com
I'm just another customer who has been scammed by C-date. They kept charging me after I had cancelled any subscription and closed my account. It was a pain to stop it. This problem is impossible on the other sites, I use J4Date
where I pay as I go and I can stop whenever I want, but I really like it so far because I communicate with real women there and there is plenty of choice. There is basically no choice of women on C-date, not to mention multiple bots, stolen photos and identities. They do everything to keep you paying, and even if you want to quit, they don't let you do this, making it very difficult and confusing to cancel.
Incorrect order
Hi there,
I never used this website and e-collect threaten me to pay 215.00 if I don't pay they will take legal action against me.
I paid amount as I don't want be in trouble.
I want to make legal complain first they text and whatsapp me without my consent.
And also I never used c-date so I would like have a refund.
Let me know how to proceed further.
Thanks,
Vishal

Desired outcome: I want refund.
