Capital One Never had I had any issues with Capital One until recently

Never had I had any issues with Capital One until recently. I made my payment via an alternate means but made it in full. My funds were not available as usual so I called and spoke to a representative who said that my funds were placed on hold due to Capital One's security measures regarding fraud since it was a large amount and from my banking instead of debit as usual, but they should be available once the charge clears the bank. Ok, it happens. But my charges cleared and my funds were still not available so I called back and spoke to another representative who didn't even care to look into it since my charges cleared the bank and just basically told me oh well they will release them when they release them. My husband told me to call back because even if it was for security purposes once the charges cleared my funds should be released. So I hesitantly called and spoke to Emily. She, unlike the other one, took the time to listen to my concerns regarding the issue and did everything in her power to help me. Sadly she was limited but got me transferred over to a specialist at the fraud department who could help. Chelsie (Chelsey) had me explain the situation to her so she could get a better understanding, and told me that she would need to verify that the charges were clear so we conference called my banking institute and listened to the automated system go over the recently cleared transactions. Once the specialist heard confirmation that the payment amounts I made to my cards had indeed cleared she had no troubles getting my funds released and apologized for the inconvenience. Had it not been for Emily and Chelsie (Chelsey) I would have been in a bad spot for sure. People like these two are the reason I continue to work with Capital One and recommend them to friends, family, and colleagues. Definitely earned the 5 stars here for sure!

Capital One Worthless

When they say no fee at the ATM there full of $#*!. Yes they offer no fees but if you have simply checking that doesn't apply it's only for 360 account customers.so if you have simply checking you're nothing but chop meat. And my closest branch is 35 miles 1 way because they shut down every branch in my immediate area. If you make the futile attempt to speak to anyone at a branch office good luck with that. Because they never pick up. Find yourself a bank that actually appreciates having you as a customer

Capital One Easy Peasy, Pay it Forward

Capital One is my only credit card in my wallet, that is actually valid...lol. It was easy to paly for and yes, even I got approved...you can too! Give it a try. Capital One Just a moment!

When my credit score was 508, it was Capital One that took a chance on me and sent me a pre-approved credit card based on the fact that I had my pay directly deposited into my checking account. With the daily information that they provided me on my account and checking for other cards I was preapproved for---well let just say that after twelve months of due diligence and on-time payments, my credit score today is 715 across the board... in one year. The only complaint that I have against Capital One is they don't have a feedback email, or I would thank them that way.

Capital One I Question Some Reviews

I never write reviews, but decided to point this out. I was just looking at another companies reviews and they were HORRIBLE. I decided to come over to look at Capital One's reviews as I have done business with them for years and more recently this week with a large undertaking. I have been VERY happy with the company and they have helped me when my own credit union of 31 years have not. Now, I'm seeing these bad things written here also. C'mon Now! Who do you believe? I just say to you all, make a wise decision. Use Capital One - Don't' use them. I like Capital One. A. Noel

Capital One Help with vender disputes

I would like to acknowledge Capital One and it's employees who helped me with two Vendors disputes of charges to my account. After numerous back and forth with Capital One they decided in my favor and put the money back into my account. Capital One is one of the few CC companies that works for the card holder not the Vendors. Most could care less about the customer, that is why I have kept my Capital One card for so many years. If you are looking for a good CC company I would definitely recommend getting a Capital One card, thanks again for good customer service. Patrick Zoccoli

Capital One Hands Down to Capital One

This company I have been with now for about 5 years. I started with my credit card and now I recently on June 27 got my Auto Loan though. Capital One do pre-approvals were they see if you qualify with a soft pull and it don'e effects your credit score. Once you are pre approved then you just take what they send you and go get your car. I was shocked that they made it so stress free. On the other hand I had the issues with the dealer, not Capital One. Everything is so simple I can make my car payments and credit card payments all from one log in. It is so great and their rates were nice.

Capital One Great customer service

Today I had the greatest experience I ever with a representative of any type. This customer service representative went above and beyond her job to actually help me out today. Corianne provided some great information for me today. Not only do I have a great representative which I have a absolute great asset to Capital one in Corianne. The experience that I had with Corianne was like no other I have ever experience with any representative that ever spoke to over the phone. Her willingness to help and provide vital information and even chat with me show that she care for the Capital One customers. So today I'm given Corianne 5 stars If I can give her more I would. To say I had a very great experience with Corianne is a under statement ***@gmail.com

Capital One reporting a scam

I found out that my wife had given her credit card information over the phone to an organization that was collecting money for the police department. I looked up to phone number online and it was a scam according to the information online about the number. I called capital one customer service and ask they not pay the money to those people and the person told us we could not have that done. You can look at my service to capital one, Donald Hussell card ends 9550, my wife Alice Hussell card ending 6234 the charge was on her card. I am surprised that capital one would go ahead and charge me for a scam that I reported to your costumer service . please reply

Capital One transfer $ money back to my bank

i did this transfer back to my bank like around 7am Eastern Time Jan. 17. Capital One will not release the money to my bank so far till till the 18th ! with the way the internet is that should have immediately ! They take their sweat old time to do anything they want. right or wrong you decide. jus know they will not be my saving bank ! you must decide for yourself if you wish to deal with their slow process !

Claimed loss: not sure yet, just know bank account will be charged NSF. being over 65, disabled this is not good !!! with electronic transfer and the way the internet works there really should be all these delays @

Capital One Capital One Travel Portal

On an international flight 1 month from now, the flight times were dramatically changed by the airline. I did purchase the flight disruption assist, when contacting the travel support team 4 different times to see if they could help accomodate the change that was made. Darwin the supervisor actually told me "Take it or leave it." They would not offer to help in anyway. The only option he gave me was to pay 200-dollar penalty to change the flight dates. This was a flight leaving Mexico for my wife and they uprooted the entire plan for the flight home. I will have to book another flight or get a travel "credit" to adjust my flights.

This is not the first issue i've had but it is certainly the last unless Capital One is able to untangle this mess and win back a customer, because after almost 2 years of using them exclusively for my weekly travel ive had enough of their help.

Claimed loss: 628.54

Desired outcome: I would like my money back for this so I may rebook an appropriate flight.

I give two stars for the fact that the Cap One travel cards have many benefits. i rarely review but in this case, pros do not out weigh the cons.

Traveling can be hard, and if you need to reach out to their travel support line. Its about to get harder. Their travel team has almost no authority to help. They are not afraid to tell you no, ther is no accountability for your travel plans mix ups, or changes EVEN when you get their travel disrupt assist. Even getting a supervisor on the phone is useless. They will leave you high and dry with a take it or leave it attitude.

Also, they do NOT have as many lounges as they say. They use priority pass, and their extension to that has no benefits. Much less work just to sit at the gate and wait then attempt to find a lounge.

Capital One 360 checking account

I opened up a checking account with capital one since I've had the account capital one automatic system has been randomly restricting my account for unknown reasons when I called to see why I was told by a rep that my account was new and that they didn't have any control over the system I verified myself and thought to myself hey they are just doing their job up until that same week I found myself getting the account restricted 5 times in one week and the following week it started all over with capital one restricting my account since I work from home I have lost my job because I was forced by capital one to call them and verify myself or not be able to use the account since I set my direct deposits to the account I couldn't risk the account being closed down so there were times that I logged off of work just to verify my identity times I would call they would verify me by asking me questions that I used to set up the account then they would ask if it's ok for them to send a link to my phone number on file I say yes and they say to make sure there are no glares or shadows since I am a part time photographer I know all about how to take pictures i used a dark green folder and laid my license on the folder both sides but the system sometimes wouldn't verify me even though the representative would admit that the pictures were indeed readable but couldn't understand why the system continues to not be able and verify me then since they could only send the link to my phone once I found myself calling 4-6 times before I had to get a supervisor to manually verify me this has been going on every wee that I've had the checking account each time the representative including the supervisor would apologize for the inconvenience since I was laid off due to the inconsistencies from capital one I was forced to take out loan of 15k from Junius bank to cover some bills and last minute Christmas shopping the funds cleared on December 19,2023 I logged into the account and there was another restriction on the account so I called as usual but this time was different because the system know longer was allowing the representatives to send any one time codes to my phone number on file and they said that they were instructed to have me forwarded to the fraud department I spoke with them they verified me then begin to send a link to me were I had to upload my license and as per usual the system was not able to verify me so I asked the fraud unit if there was anything else I could do because the system is corrupt and continues to not be able to verify me he said that he could no longer send me another link and to call back so I did just that and once again the system would not allow the rep to send any passcodes to my phone and they were instructed to forward the call to fraud department when I spoke with them they sent me another link and I took a feont and back picture of my license the rep admitted that the picture was a really good picture and that his fingers was crossed that it go through but it didn't so he said that I would need to go into the branch then he hung up so I had to call back a 3rd time that same day were I was forwarded again to the fraud department and that's when a a young lady said that after there initial review capital one was going to close my account I asked her why and what did I do she said I don't know but your account will be closed than I responded by saying so vani just go in to the branch and verify myself she said no that option is no longer available and that we will mail you a check then I asked her if I could come into the branch and get my funds she said that she would haft to put on a request to see first which to me all sounds illegal to do it's one thing to put restrictions on my account then cause me to loose my job now you close my account and prevent me from accessing my funds days before Christmas is bizarre capital one has caused me a financial burden and they are preventing me from accessing my funds.

Desired outcome: Public apology and allow me to go in person to verify my identity and access my funds. If they want to move forward with closing then that's fine but allow me to get my funds from the account.

Capital One Payment not received

My card ends 6035 Walmart credit card I paid 55 on December 3 on December 5 a ach from you was processed through my bank for another 55 I called customer service and said I couldn’t pay twice I get paid once a month December 14 I get a letter no check that the available credit was debited back out and my check was being mailed they didn’t send it out till 6 days later I still have not received it I had no money to go visit anyone and a dr appt on the 21st would be canceled I don’t get my pay again till the 29th I pay you on time they prevented me from Xmas and seeing a dr I really needed to see so because of this and I probably won’t see it until after all holidays capital one can wait to receive my next payment this can never be fixed

Capital One Capital one credit card

I dont know my full card number I destroyed it only the last four digits4024. My complaint is that my address my email address and my cell phone number was all used for someone to open another account or so someone came and accused me of opening an account in their name, I did not. when I called capitol one they said only my name and account was under this email etc. and when these people called capitol one gave them my address, my email and my cell phone number. which is a breach of privacy on their part. why would they tell me one thing share my info with someone else and tell them something diffrent. I am not taking the blame for opening a credit card in someone elses name. I dont know what I should do. My name is Jeanette Miles. 157 River st. Capital One Quicksilver credit card

I have paid off my entire balance for the account ending in 3899 on December 1st which had a due date of December 5th - therefore no interest assessment ($71.92) should have been made. Therefore I am disputing this invalid charge and I will not pay it. Please erase this charge and then terminate my account... I have zero balance and all monies owed to Capital One have been paid and therefore I am terminating my financial relationship with Capital One!

Capital One Capital One Platinum

Got a text Msg Today About a faulty charge of 59.00 on my Platinum Card. This is only the 2nd day I have had this damn card Called customer service to find out where the charge was from After waiting 22 minutes got someone who wanted to verify who I was. Fine but the steps I had to go through was an aggravating ordeal Told him that I wanted to end my account Horrible service. This text Msg happened on Dec 8 2023. My ordeal via Phone happened at 11:39 AM.

Capital One horrible service

This credit card scams with late fee changes. They knowingly don't let the customer pay on time, restricting you to pay and then charge you with a "late fee." The worst service ever! They don't let you pay on your due date until 8n p.m. Eastern time and if the customer lives in the West coast they won't have the equal opportunities as in the Eastern coast. East and West Coast has a 3 hour difference which means when the Western customer finishes his work day at 5 p.m. they are not able to make the payment on time. None of the other banks ever did that, in the other banks the card holder is given an opportunity to pay until 12 a.m. , and even if the customer is late the other banks waive the late fee one time and Capitol One refuses! Because that way they try to scam people out of extra money. For my balance $2.30 they charged me $27. Absolutely horrible service!

Capital One Capital One Travel

Dear Mr. Fairbank,

I wanted to let you know of my recent problem with Capital one Travel. I have been a customer of Capital One for a while now and have used Capital one Travel so I can enjoy my rewards.

Recently I "price froze" a trip to Phoenix as I suspected my Jayhawks were going to a Bowl game there. I froze the price until today at 8:30. I got all of my affairs in order to make this happen and at 8 started to get the reservations straightened out. I went through the portal and reserved the seats etc. (I am sure you don't have to worry about these details) but I do. Then I got an error message to try again, I did reserved everything then it regurgitated the same error message, I then took a picture of this for proof that I did my part.

I then called by the time Capital one travel got involved on the phone they told me my price expired at 8:30! Nothing could be done? I thought this was some sick joke. The price rose more than triple !

I do not think Capital one travel is anywhere comparable to your company and you should not let them tarnish your good name "Capital One" . All the people I dealt with at Capital one travel read through the same script and it was not a pleasant experience.

Ash at Capital One (your company) empathized with me but no tickets to Phoenix to see my son and the Jayhawks for the bowl game !

What is in my Wallet?

Two capital one cards...sadly

Capital One Capital One 360 Checking customer service

I deposited $1,005 into my new Capital One 360 checking account Nov. 13, 2023.

Today, Dec. 2, 2023, I checked my account and saw this message:

Alert

Your funds are currently not available for withdrawal. Please call us at [protected].

I have called and still on hold waiting to speak to a customer service representative ... it's been 38 minutes and I'm still on hold.

At first it said call volumes are high and my wait could be as long as 10 minutes.

Capital One In my recent account I was wrongly debited with £150.

You have emailed me that the payment was correct.

However, the company charging me £150 is World Remit Ltd. Their business includes sending money abroad -- something I have never done.

Perhaps you would kindly ask World Remit Ltd to provide evidence of my alleged request, and forward it to me.

You have sent me a new card, presumably because you fear I have been scammed, despite your approval of the payment.

Capital One Credit Wise and two Capital One Credit Cards

I have two Captial One Cards and one is a $300.00 LOC the other is a Walmart $500.00 line of credit.

My shopping at Walmart was interrupted for the third day in a row, and I did place about an order, but neigher Walmart nor Capital One could answer what I purchased today.

I was hung up on rather than being referred to Bank's or Walmart's data center for clarification.

My experience is Absent: Dignity, Respect, Good Faith, and Fair Play. I should be able to ask reasonable questions a BANK who does business with one third of American Households.

Capital One Horrible bill pay service changes-horrible 360 checking accounts

Without notifying customers, C.O changed the Bill Pay software and the way it worked for customers. In Oct 2023 they removed the prior set-up of allowing customers to organize bill pay into categories from the drop down menu.

I had mine separated into Annual payments-Home & Life Insurances ---Monthly bills--Family bills--Charities. As payments were made, I would write notes to include the amount paid, when, balance due & Memo. The Bill Pay allowed an actual Checkbook Tabulation Account that worked cohesively with the Checking Account. It stated before sending how the payment would be made, electronic or paper check mailed. Also the Checking Account displayed my written notes within the Memo and showed a pic of checks cashed as a reference to discuss with Vendors.

Now ALL the above has been removed! C.O. cannot even produce a record to me of where they sent payments electronically. I have a $39.41 Late Fee from a Vendor that used to get payment within 3 days. C.O CANNOT tell me why payments are not going electronically. Today I called about another payment now 5 days late due to it being sent by Mail. Why would I want a Bank to mail a check for me? If so, I would know that, but C.O has made the Bill Pay service UNUSABLE.

The Manager says she wrote for them to refund my $39.41 back, but that was 4 weeks ago and nothing. I will after 25 yr be moving my monies to another bank that can service everyone esp Military. I have an impeccable credit score, yet Capital One will destroy it ! M Polk-NOLA

Capital One Electronic banking

You people are the worst to have to deal with for resolving issues!

I have spoken to several people, in several different departments, over the past 2 weeks to try to simply obtain the documentation on the transaction in question - I need documented proof that the payment you presented to the Payee, at my instruction, was presented on a specific date and time, and the payment (physical check, I am told) was returned on a specific data and time - I want the electronic date/timestamps of each step of this transaction plus copies of the front and back of the supposed physical check.

You are after all a bank, and banks are required to keep detailed records of all transactions.

DO NOT respond with the garbage below (three times you have done this) - I want documentation.

Capital One Credit card

After paying off my $2k balance , they decided restrict my account but yet can’t verify my ID in a timely manner but won’t send my $2k back! Since if I knew they was going restrict my account, would have never pay it off in full. 🫡 the customer service phone is NO help. I get place on hold and hardly they ever come back to the line. It’s exhausting going back and forth with capital one!

Capital One Takes up to 5 days to receive money for reissued bill pay to same payee

I am very dissatisfied with Capital One (CO) procedures for regarding “Bill Pay stop pay/reissue check procedures” and after my lengthy phone conversation today with two representatives that did not satisfy my expectations, I have now decided to complain to “Upper Management.” Outlined below is what happened and how I suggest it should have been handled.

On September 15, 2023, I bill payed Rooter Man (RM) $1,620 and $189 ($1,809 total) and they say they never received the two checks. Last month RM called me about not receiving the checks, so I called CO (with RM on the call also) just to prove to RM that I already had bill paid back on September 15. During the conference call we decided that it might just be “slow or temporarily delayed mail” and that RM would just wait a little longer for the checks to arrive. Yesterday, RM called and said still no checks, so I called CO and they said that they would “stop pay” the two checks (no fee) and I should reissue the checks through Bill Pay (which I did). Today, I noticed that my account had been debited those two “reissue checks” ($1,809 total) again, and this is wrong for CO to do this! I just now called CO to discuss the situation, and was told that it could take up to five business days for the $1,809 to be credited back. This is not fair to me, and CO should have immediately given a temporary credit of $1,809. My logic, “first of all” the checks have never even been cashed and now CO is debiting me again (now double)! When someone writes a check and mails it, the check is not debited until the check is cashed, meaning “cash flow.” Second, there is a process now going on (Back-office CO) to investigate, etc. and these things are a “cost of doing business” and I understand. However, don’t financially inconvenience the Customer, as they will have to figure out how to “cash flow” because CO debiting their account twice! I get it, it’s probably not CO’s fault, as the postal system probably caused this, however I know that it’s not my fault and you are inconveniencing me, your Customer with “very poor Customer Service Procedures.” This also makes me think that CO has figured out another way to “nickel and dime” their Customers’ just to increase their “bottom line!” Just in this one example, CO will pay me about $0.02 less interest in my Checking Account this month. I do wonder how many other Customers have had this type of problem because that “$0.02 really adds up!”

Example: 30-day month, $3,600 average daily balance, changes to only $3,299 (5 days to get $1,809 credit) and at 0.1% Interest, that’s about $0.02! Maybe I was going to use my Debit Card for a $1,809 purchase, but now I can’t because my Account does not have the funds to cover it. Now, I will have to transfer from my Savings (which is 4.3%) to my Checking (which is 0.1%). What CO is doing is not paying Interest on money for “up to 5 days” and this is wrong, and also adds up over time! Pretty slick, as it is “just another way” the Financial Controller has found to save paying some Interest to Customers! BTW, 4.3% Savings is better than 0.1% Checking, so that 4.2% difference would now be $1.05.

Bottom line, I feel this is wrong on every level and will continue to voice my displeasure, as I feel that CO is not treating the Customer in a fair manner. Look at how most Credit Card Companies handle fraud or possible fraud, and the way CO handles “Checking Bill Pay issues” is different. This is not about the money (I don’t have a cash flow problem) and you can see I keep much more money in your bank than an average Customer, however it is about “what I feel is bad business Policy by CO!” CO needs to correct this problem.

I expect a response to this complaint within 14 days.

Capital One Payment not recieved for a closed savings account

I, Catherine A McGill, closed two savings accounts in Feb 2023. After waiting two weeks and not having received any money, I attempted a call.

The accounts were high-yield money market accounts.

After calling dozens of times every two weeks, I finally received one check on July 12th.

I have since made over two dozen calls and still have not received the remaining funds.

I have also filed a Better Business Bureau complaint ID [protected]

and a Capital One CID: CC-[protected]

I still have not received my money.

I have been lied to several times being told the money was sent out, and no one can account for when and where it was sent.

My current address is 71 Crooked Island Circle, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576

My previous address was 916 Pebble Lane, Murrells Inlet, SC 28576

Claimed loss: over $1116

Desired outcome: To be fully reimbursed for the money owed.

Capital One Unauthorized credit card charges

Capitol One notified that they detected fraud on my card, I confirmed the charges were not mine. Capital One then turned the card off. I paid my authorized charges & should now have a balance of zero. Why does Capitol One continue to bill me for the fraud charges & recurring late charges? This has affected my credit score. I need this resolved & repair made to my credit score. Thank You, Mr. E. White

Desired outcome: Do not bill me for fraud charges that you detected. Repair my credit score back to where it was when you approved my credit card at Bass Pro Shop.
