I had booked and paid extra for preferred seats for my wife and daughter’s return flight from Delhi, India to Hong Kong, but at the airport we were told that the seats we had paid for, have been assigned to somebody else, and are already occupied.
I have been a member of Cathay pacific since 2004 and I have never experienced this sort of issue from Cathay. Why should we pay more to travel by Cathay, and also pay extra for preferred seats as well, when Cathay betrays us this way at the last minute and assign our seats to others? There are so many cheaper options available to travel to Hong Kong via airlines such as Indigo, Vistara or Air India, Thai etc., but we still prefer Cathay over others. Is this our mistake?
Please explain why your airline did this to my wife and daughter at the last minute and what is the solution to this issue? I feel, I demand an explanation in writing. How can I trust Cathay again?
>> Seats chosen and paid for at the time of booking - 59A, 59C (see e-tickets attached)
>> Seats changed at the airport, without any explanation – 68K, 68J (see boarding passes issued).
Thanks.
