The customer service representative
I had the misfortune of having to communicate with Kaitlyn around 11:30 a.m. on November 7. I needed assistance in changing a professor for my NR509 health assessment course. When I realized she could not be of assistance to me, I requested a supervisor or to speak to my student advisor directly. She then stated that none were available. I asked, Can she...

The following is part of email/phone call communications between myself and Chamberlain's Student Finance Services
""Hi Riane, thank you for getting back to me.
So, throughout the enrollment process I spoke with an Angelina from admissions, as well as a Brenda from finance. While most of the communications we had were via email, we did also communicate via phone. The information I got originally (I believe from Brenda) was the estimate of financial aid, the estimate of cost of tuition, books, etc, as well as the difference that would be owed or credited. I was told that if there is a credit owed, I have until the first or second week to pay in full or I would be dropped from my classes. While only an estimate, I was assured that everything would be covered by my financial aid, except my books and other supplies. The estimate changed 2 or 3 times throughout Sep/Oct due to changes with enrollment (1/2 time versus 3/4 versus full time), however with all of the estimates, I was continuously assured that everything would be covered.
I have been nothing but upfront, explaining, “I will not be able to afford anything besides books/supplies, so if it turns out that I do owe money, can I withdraw without penalty?” I was told that I could, so long as I did it before the start of the 2nd or third week (I don’t recall the exact date). I asked again about the financial award status, as the course was starting, and was told by Angelina that the awards are disbursed between the 2nd and 5th week of the quarter. This concerned me because I only had 1-2 weeks to drop the course without being penalized, and I didn’t have any clue on what the finalized awards were going to be or when they were going to be disbursed. The award was finally disbursed at, I believe it was the beginning of the second week and I received a call from someone in finance (I don’t remember who the person was, I just remember that it was not Brenda), explaining that I did owe approximately $1,000. As soon as I received this information, I withdrew from the class, stating exactly what I had been so adamant about before, “I can’t afford this.”
So then, after that huge headache, I get a call 5-6 months later saying that my account is going to be sent to collections? This is extremely disheartening. I have taken classes with Chamberlain before and the university has been absolutely amazing. I have had to withdraw multiple times due to hardship, including caring for a terminal family member. No matter what my situation was, I received nothing but support from the university. I have only had pleasant experiences which is why I keep going back to try and finish my degree.
Riane, what you explained to me on the phone this morning essentially said that if I would have stayed enrolled in my classes I would not have been dropped. All I want is to finish my degree. What can be done?""
This email is dated back in March 2023. I have called multiple times with the only answer being "we are looking into it." I have followed up multiple times via email with no response whatsoever. It's not June and I get a notice stating that I was sent to collections.
Chamberlain used to be a great institution. USED to.
Desired outcome: I want all charges to be dismissed. I want that record to reflect on my credit, and I want a sincere apology for this egregious behavior.
Lack of communication and follow thru with chamberlain college of nursing
For 10 weeks I have not had clear communication, support or guidance on getting into my practicum. No return emails until a month out and no return calls. My site has emailed chamberlain 3 times with no response and I am still not enrolled into the my last class. I had to sit out a quarter due to their incompetence and lack of support. They don’t give you any information just pass it along to to el services. That never return a call or email. They don’t take calls because they cannot handle the volume.
Desired outcome: I need them to read the email from my site and enroll me so I can graduate.

PMHNP Practicum approval
Chamberlain University requires you to find and submit your own preceptor and site for practicum. It is urged that students submit their application in a timely manner in order to be approved. I submitted January 2023; my preceptor was sent documents via docu-sign which she completed that very week. It is now May, and my practicum starts in JULY, nothing has been done since January. I have called numerous times, there is no communication with ELS and there is no changes in my practicum application status. Many students had to sit a semester or 2 in order to be approved to move forward. With all the money that chamberlain is charging there should be a better teaching structure and communication with students. The Mandatory trip to Chicago that we have to take 2x is a waste of money. Not everyone can travel or afford to travel just for something that can easily be done via zoom, which clearly worked during the shutdown with COVID. There should be something that needs to be done other than "We hired extra faculty to help to make sure sites are approved" it does not give us enough time if a site is NOT approved in order to submit another, and a lot of preceptors would like confirmation to know in advance how many students they are precepting. All in all, I am very disappointed.
Nursing Program
Chamberlain does not offer professor led lectures if many courses. You do not get feedback on any tests or quizzes to know what you need to improve on. This is important in school so you understand what you need to focus on in your studies for to graduate and take your APRN licensure exams. I will never recommend them to any advancing professional .
Poor Customer Service1
The customer service at this university, particularly with a receptionist has always been negative in multiple situations with various different students.
She speaks in a tone of voice and aggressive stance to try and intimidate students and she is incredibly disrespectful.
I've spoken to her on the phone and in person, and she has no issue giving out her name either because obviously, she doesn't really care about how she speaks to the students or feels that anything will happen to her from a disciplinary standpoint by her superiors. She is in a professional position yet she is not displaying this toward the students.
Desired outcome: Disciplinary action, remediation training on customer service skills For Ms. Raj Reed.
ATI grading change
Chamberlain decided to make grading change that would make it harder for students to pass nursing courses. Our grading system is divided into two categories that make up our overall grade in the course. These categories are supplemental and core assignments. The supplemental assignments consist of projects or essays. The core assignments are based off of test, quizzes, and ATI assignments. In core, we need a 76% to pass the class. Chamberlian decided to remove the ATI assignments from our core assignments, which help us improve our grade (which is helpful to students that may not do well on an exam or quiz). These changes are impacting students negatively because students have no way to improve there core assignments grades to pass the course. Another change they made is with our proctored ATI assessment. Before these changes, our proctored ATI assignments were based off of Levels. If we scored a certain score, we would get a Level 1 (76%), Level 2 (86%), and Level 3 (100%). The national average for these assignments is around a 65%. The change they made is that students scores would not be based off of their original score. For instance, if I scored a 60%, then my grade in the grade book would be a 60/100. Whereas, before the changes were made, I would get a 76/100 in the grade book because my score would fall under Level 1. In conclusion, these changes are not set to help us succeed, rather set for students to fail courses over one bad score and no room for students improvement. Before these changes were made permanently, no students were consulted and instead, we were told that these changes may or may not occur. A few weeks before these changes were implemented, students were sent an email that these changes would occur. This gave students very little time to act or oppose these changes. In fact, theirs a petition on change.org that got over 10, 000 signatures and yet Chamberlian turned a blind eye on us. Chamberlian failed to listen to students voices and continued to make these changes. The president of Chamberlian also sent a video to students on YouTube addressing these changes but the video can't be accessed without a link. They even said this change was based off of a 3 year study, but we were given no information about the study what so ever. Please, help us bring light to this matter because many of us students have less than a few months until we graduate and these changes really put us at risk of graduating on time!
Desired outcome: Reverse these change back to the original grading changes
ATI grade change
Chamberlain University has implemented a grading change that will ultimately fail many students. I am asking that nursing students' are evaluated on more than just our ability to take a test. Many nursing students struggle with test anxiety, but excel in Clinicals and assignments. This new grading change will make many classes nearly impossible to pass. I...

I registered for a class on Monday 3/1/21. The class was not populated in my portal until 3/2/21. I went on and viewed the assignments and realized this class was more involved than I thought it would be and unfortunately too much for me to do at this time. I called today and spoke to a student advisor who told me I will have a 10% charge and I would be...
Read full review of Chamberlain Universitycanvas program. turn it in program
I have been a student at Chamberlain for over 22 months in their Family Nurse Practitioner Program. I am set to graduate in 12/2017. Up until 7/3/2017 Chamberlain College of Nursing has decided to utilize a new program called "canvas", within "canvas", there is suppose to be a program which is to assist us the students to run our assignments through to check for plagiarism before submitting them for grading. I have never had an issue with any assignment until the university decided to implement this new program. And it's been a nightmare. The program is suppose to give a similarity percentage, so that we will know if the 24% cut off is within normal range before submitting our assignments. One of the multiple problems is that the "turn it program" doesn't supply us with a percentage in a time manner, or at all. So, then we are forced to submit the assignments blindly, and pray that the the percentage is under 24% or less. But, the instructors are able to run similarity reports on their end. And then we are penalized with our grades, we are met with threats of dismissal from the program for "plagiarism", when the program that is suppose to be established to work in our favor and best interest doesn't work properly or in a time manner in order to meet deadlines. We are talking, big money spending on this high tuition, extreme time being put into these assignments, and we the students get treated like liars, and that we are dishonest. They are only concerned it seems, is about profitability. And this NEW program which is usually down for all kinds of reason was put into place to make us fail. I have numerous emails, and video's and pictures which show the faultiness of this "turn it in" program. Other numerous students are having the same issues, and individuals express how much they "hate" it, and they feel like they are being set up to fail as well. I have presented complaints, and no one is taking me seriously. So, for my reputation, and academic and career future need someone to do something about Chamberlains actions towards us student. It's out of control, and I've worked extremely hard for my academic success and sacrifice in order to see it go down the drain because of some "geeked" up newly implemented software. It's so"geeked" up Jesus himself would have issues or Bill Gates trying to navigate through it. I'm being threatened by my current professor for issues that shouldn't be if "turn it in" was properly doing its purpose.
Unethical behavior
I recently just graduated from Chamberlain College of Nursing in Miramar Florida and to the schools knowledge failed me in Capstone. We were forced to sign a form at the beginning of the semester that you must finish the required coarse work by week 6 in the ATI program which was being used to predict in passing the NCLEX on the first time. I finished the required work in class and had a 89.9% in the class. You must have had to pass ATI's AA3 test to pass the class entirely or be given an Incomplete for the course and take the second proctored predictor test AA4 with an extra six weeks of remediation. I also did that, finished the remediation and failed the AA4 by "1 point". My online coach for the ATI program said by benchmark scores required have gone up and were consistent. Now they gave me an F for the course and are making me do an appeal. Now I have to wait another 6 weeks for a decision until the next session starts. My grades are good in school, I maintained the required GPA and I paid off my debt that was required to graduate. Now they are making me pay more money for the same semester I paid out for. HELP!
If we did not sign this form we could not take the Capstone class, nor finish nursing program. It was all or nothing. The cohort or class before us that just graduated in November 2015 did not have to go through this, was not forced into signing anything or mandated to past these predictor ATI exams just to pass the Capstone class and get their BSN degree. They were allowed to still pass if they failed them and take their NCLEX exam which they passed on first attempt. The dean has told us several times I am there for the students and yet I told her about my situation and how I can't afford to take this course again as working as a CNA and I am working overtime to pay extra for the Capstone class I just finished. She didn't listen to me and gave me an F for the class and told me to process an appeal. Meanwhile I have place my whole career and life on hold just for the Dean to tell me that I must wait another six weeks for a decision until the next session starts. What does the next session have to do with my decision. I just want my degree that I worked hard for, have them honor the 1 point and let me take my boards NCLEX. OVER 1 point! If I am told to take Capstone again I would then have to pay out another 2100$ for it that don't have. A CNA doesn't make much money.
Online rn-bsn
I signed up with Chamberlain with 10 classes to complete the BSN. This company does not get the adult learner, I am in my early 50's with elderly parents . I was in my 6th week of an economics class when my Father passed, he lived in Italy, had to travel to bury him, I contacted the professor who agreed to have me do a paper on a topic of his choice. The problem was the professor left, student services did not honor the agreement, I escalated to some department I was not able to even speak with, like they are the president or something, student services, who I never spoke to the same adviser twice, abruptly dismissed me and my request, that was Dec of 2015. This year I am taking community nursing, keeping an A average throughout the course, my mother became critically ill, I wrote to the professor requesting a few day extension on the final assignment due and her response was you should of contacted me the day you knew your Mother was ill, like that was the most important thing going on at the time. They are all about the money there, no insight into the adult learners needs and obstacles . I was also told by one of the advisers that between my loans and tuition reimbursement from my job that I would have no out of pocket expenses, presently I am blocked from completing my last two classes due to owning 3 grand . Lovely place, they will go out of their way to get you to sign with them, but offer no support once you are trapped.
registration and it help
I am a student in Chamberlain college of Nursing for about 1 year, in the program RN to BSN. Until
now everything was smooth, but since the change in the software the IT department is unable to fix the problem and I am unable to connect to student portal. I was promised that the problem will be fixed in 48 hours, but it is already more than a week and nothing has been done.
Try to call an adviser after you registered and the wait is minimum 45 min. I do not know what change but I will not recommend to attend the school until these problems can be fixed. Everyone is nice but the problems are not being solved at all.
I take classes at Chamberlain. Check to make sure your web browser is up to date. The portal will not work unless you are using the most current browser.
