Clash Royale Too hard for noobs! Explain below

K many don't understand why they're having a bad experience I was in that boat & am once again. The problem is that besides the latest nerf to all the defenses rendered useless (they don't need take damage decay over time just last for the remainder & even at full health be destroyed maybe add a red clock like the blue one that's used to show a units spawn time). The trophies system either has to go or be modified. The ways to do this are make 2 play list a ranked and unranked. The unranked being for those just starting out and maybe even lock players out of the legendary & above only play list for end game which also extends the end game win win for all. The ranked playlist is where trophies are on the line. Unranked being for those trying to collect all the cards. The only thing that is impeding progress is the broken trophy system where everyone even the highest level players are getting stuck back in arena3! With those of us who are literally stuck there only with no ways out. There's several ways to solve this problem which is costing you $ & us progress and eventually causes many to just delete the game & give up since there's no point no matter what you do or how much $ one spends it doesn't help them get the cards in arenas above them. The solution don't penalize players for dropping arenas instead no matter what arena one is in they should receive cards based on the highest arena they achieved this way they're still making progress despite a bad luck steak. As is the games not based on skill but merely luck and the haves from the have nots. Let's let everyone be able to get all the cards and then see who's the best that way it's truly based on skill not the cards one has and the other doesn't. This will massively improve the quality of play & keep players interested as losing and adding insult to injury by only being allowed to get the cards from the arenas they've already collected everything from & this is the majority of the player base stuck on arena 3 and bouncing back from arena4 to 3 repeat like a yoyo toy! Not fun for anyone not to end game players who want fresh blood nor the starting & mid game players as nobody can make any progress or collect all the basic cards from each arena at least the commons and rares but the epic & legendary also need to be made available for all and not just the ones who got to arena8 before all the card nerfs notice how many quit playing arena period as a result of the fear of losing trophies & ending up back in arena3&4 again! For the countless time. The solutions easy treat it like an MMORPG maybe even have 3 playlist ranked unranked & another for legendary and up add a new arena but 1st let's fix what we have so every player has equal opportunity to get new cards until they've collected them all in which case they then try and see how high they can get on the ladder. As is the ladder is everyone & mismatched broken but easily fixed by giving players access to all the cards possible chest should reward for the highest arena achieved not the current arena only & the unranked playlist should not cause a loss of trophies. A new type of marks should be added to the 2nd or possibly 3rd play list for end game where trophies can be lost but it won't cause nearly as much rage and distress and players quitting the game as a result since their progress isn't determined by vs what they don't have yet with what they already do. & only receive more of what they've already got I have 200+ goblins and get them from every chest this isn't fun for anyone at all to never grow progress get new cards etc. so please make these changes in the next patch at very least make it so losing isn't so harsh & progress is not directly affected by losing trophies. We need to get cards from the arena above the highest we have been to so we stand a chance of winning against players who already have said cards again it's the haves vs have nots! Also the trainer really needs a difficulty setting easy medium & hard & very hard maybe. But 1st things 1st let's start making progress with our collections & this is a 5star game if fixed I will rate it what it deserves its high quality and addicting but has this difficulty wall that just breaks the game as is. Please supercell the game will die within months if thee massive issues aren't fixed please hear the consumer & meet our demands it will only make more $ for you in the end & a more enjoyable less toxic experience for players. Thanks

Clash Royale Embarrassing to say the least

I don’t ever, ever, ever write reviews on any apps ever. However I’ve been playing this game since the very first day it came out and the current state of it is absolutely horrendous. Multiply reasons make this the case, and I’ll list them.

1) There is — without a doubt — a certain algorithm that is implemented to place you with very specific people in this game. I’ll use one deck for 20 games and get matched with people with the perfect counter, then I’ll switch decks and all of a sudden I’m matched with people with cards they didn’t even use in the previous 20 battles with the previous deck. For example, I’ll use elite barbarians and go against people with skeleton armies and mega knights. Then I’ll switch to a giant or royal giant and all of a sudden my opponent has an inferno dragon? That is ridiculous. There should be no algorithm or deck-based matchmaking in the game. It’s a card game for a reason. I’d rather get matched with someone with perfect counters to my cards out of chance and have a 1% chance of beating them then play 50 games with perfect counter cards and hope I win out of things like elixir cost or some other deciding factor. It should be who can make the smarter deck, or spent the time to upgrade their cards, etc. Nothing else.

2) Every. Single. Season. the beginning is just constant max level 13 tower/cards. I almost can’t even play for the first half of the season without playing against people with fully leveled cards and towers. I don’t know how or why they’re at my trophy range when my average level card is probably like, 11? I have every single card in the game. Only about 5 of them are level 13, and at least half of them are level 9 or 10, with a few being 11, and even fewer 12. But hey, let’s be honest. The player base of this game are the lowest of the low. They probably drop trophies to get extra rewards from the trophy climb and easy wins so they can flex their sick emotes on everyone to show them who’s boss! So unless I play war or 2v2 I can’t even play for a few weeks unless I want to die of a heart attack stemming from anger.

3) Nothing new to the game aside from more stuff to buy or things to keep you playing even longer. Which doesn’t work for someone like me. Which is probably why I’m having problems and why I’m writing this. The biggest update recently was the update with the upgrade books and wild cards, etc. but the fun and thrill of that lasted maybe a day. Especially when you realized you’d only ever really get them from buying the pass or buying gems to play tournaments if you didn’t get the pass. They should implement the “vault” feature from games like Fortnite. Vault some of the least-played cards and replace them with better, more balanced, and refreshing cards. That way we don’t have 200 different cards, but we aren’t wasting card spaces with cards like the Bomb Tower or Barbarians/Barbarian Hut. Especially with the cards that were nerfed into the ground. The bomber being nerfed and knocked to 2 elixir changed the entire game for me. The fire spirits being knocked from 3 spawns to 1 was horrid as well. Very rarely do troops like that ever actually reach towers because of there only being 1 or people refusing to let you hit their tower. If I put a fire spirit down it’ll either get zapped, logged, tesla’d, or destroyed by the tower itself. Plus if it’s defensive, it’ll only hit minions to half health.

I doubt this’ll be read by anyone or taken seriously. I just can’t comprehend how a company can have so much potential for a good game yet it’s just this pathetic. I decided to write this just incase though. Hopefully some of this stuff changes or gets implemented, with or without influence from this review or any other. Personally, I’d rather have a game people love and enjoy rather than hate and have a heart attack playing. But I guess money is more important considering you skip hours, days, weeks, and even months of saving coins or waiting on chests by buying the pass. Same as Clash of Clans. They make it almost unbearable to play without a pass. I know I could quit this game and not worry about it, but it’s not that easy. It’s not just me that thinks this, it’s not me that’s the problem. Even the mega-knight-spamming, trophy-dropping scum bags would probably agree. The reason people play the game the way it does is cause it’s easy, and probably the only way to enjoy it without feeling the way I do. Take Warzone and the hackers there for example. Give the people the supplies and opportunity to play like scum bags and they will.

Either way, to whoever reads this or agrees, hopefully something is done.

Clash Royale A “bit” of criticism

First of all, I’ve been playing since release but lost all my old accounts, so I know this game like the back of my hand. Now let’s start. No it isn’t a lie, this game is pay to win, let me explain. Legendary cards are extremely useful and are really beneficial for gameplay, however the only times you are guaranteed legendaries are twice, once in mid-game and once in late-game. So unless you pay for a legendary chest in the shop, it’s basically impossible to get a legendary from a regular chest as the chances are slim. There is an alternative however, challenges, however these are even worse. You’ll always be put against someone who is better, and once you loose 3 times in a row it’s game over, unless, and as expected, you pay a gem fee OR have the season pass, which both cost money. And the matching system is so broken, this doesn’t just affect challenges, but also regular 1v1s. You’ll always be put against someone who is likely to be a level higher, and if it isn’t that, you will be put against someone who just happens to have a counter for everything you have, and even more coincidental, it’s always when you’re close to a good reward. And some cards are just straight up unfair, the best example of this being the Mega Knight. The Mega Knight is, and surprise surprise, a legendary card, not just that, it meets all the criteria for being an overpowered card, high hit points, high damage, splash damage, spawn damage and the list can go on, you have a range attacker? Too bad, the mega knight can just jump right on it and kill it if it’s hit points aren’t high enough. Trying to overwhelm the mega knight by swarming it with low hit point cards such as the skeleton army? It has splash damage, so it might take decent damage, but in the end the mega knight will still come through, the only counter this card has is air troops or the princess, the princess being able to outrange him but even then not dealing enough damage to make a difference, oh and it’s also a legendary so good luck with that, and the mega knight usually never comes unsupported so air also becomes unviable because the only real beefy air units mainly focus on buildings, overall the mega knight is a braindead card for braindead people, so even if they leave it alone, the matchmaking system will screw you over and you’ll likely have nothing to counter it. And you may think, “Huh, seems like it’s just this one card, it can still be countered” in fact, one of the top reviews I saw before writing this advised using minions, minion horde, and inferno dragon, as you may have seen before, I said it usually doesn’t come unsupported so minions are off, and the inferno dragon is yet, another legendary, and no, it isn’t just the mega knight which is the problem, there are countless other cards such as the golem, (don’t mistake it for the ice golem) which has a lot of hit points, once again usually coming supported most of the time, when defeated bursts into 2 mini-golems, the death damage taking most swarmies out so don’t be too happy, the elixir golem, which is a cheaper version of the golem, however once completely defeated, will give the opponent some elixir to balance it out, HOWEVER, most people play it with healers and heal spirits so it never dies, it may not be a completely braindead card but it certainly is annoying, the X-bow is annoying because it can reach your tower from the other side of the map, and if you don’t have any direct counters, it can take down a tower and deal lethal damage to the other if placed perfectly, and lastly, the hog rider, people in this game adore this card, it has not received a nerf in soo long that most of the braindead people who use things like mega knight could’ve earned a college degree in the time the hog rider hasn’t received a nerf, the hog rider is a fast, high damage, building-centered card which is luckily able to be countered by swarmies but even then, it’s cheap cost makes it so it always has something to support or counter the swarmies. Overall a horrible game if you don’t fork over some money, you can ask any of the top players and they can all tell you that they’ve at least bought a legendary chest or an offer in the shop, I don’t know if games like Boom Beach, Hay Day, or Brawl Stars are just as bad, so don’t let this review affect your thoughts on those games, however clash of clans is by far one of if not the best games this team has ever made. In conclusion, this game will leave you sobbing one point or another, avoid at all costs. (Update) I re-installed the game once more to attempt and give it another chance, and the first and only person I had to battle had a cancerous mega knight deck, I almost sobbed due to seeing the game hadn’t changed a bit… it hasn’t improved my review in any way, and if I had the option to give it less than 1 star, you bet I would.

Clash Royale Legitimate concerns about your game

I am a f2p player and I made it to legendary arena as a level 8 with level 8 and 9 commons and level 6 rares (no epics or legendaries). I enjoy this game more than any other game I have played on the app store and I think many people judge the game too quickly either because they aren't good enough which makes them think that higher level cards equal wins or because they just never gave the game a reasonable chance. However there are still both small and large issues in the game. People complain about both Royal Giant and Hog being over powered however I find that hog can be countered without too much difficulty.

Royal Giant. Supercell I am literally begging you to nerf this card. Yes at higher levels when people are able to use level 7-8 epics and level 4-5 legendaries it isn't used but between the [protected] trophy range it is used a ridiculous amount and most f2p players are unable to counter it as they don't have legendaries. It's range allows it to be used with too little strategy. Honestly I would prefer for you to nerf it back to uselessness as its ability is just flat out too op to compete with.

Other complaints are about the weakness of certain cards such as the xbow and mortar. While I may agree that the xbow is fairly weak, I still think that the mortar is an interesting card. The deck I used to get to legend arena (pre and post mortar change to 4s deploy time) had mortar in it and allowed me to beat many Royal Giant decks. Cards that I do think need changes are spawners which I often find far too challenging to deal with especially when combined with legendaries and Royal Giant. Spawners need less health, slower spawn rates, or less life span but they need to be nerfed as they remove a lot of the skill from the game and are extremely powerful even in the hands of a less than impressive player. Legendaries are also easily some of the most elixir efficient cards in the game and can be extremely hard to obtain/counter for a not lucky f2p such as myself. The first legendary I got after 2 months of being in legend arena was the log from a magical chest. At this time I figured out that the log is a completely useless card and that zap is a ridiculously more impressive alternative. The log needs a large nerf to its damage, range, or abilities to compete with zap which is an essential card in many decks. Later I broke down and purchased the miner from the store after yet another month of waiting to get a legitimate legendary, however I think I deserved a decent legendary long ago for a much lesser price than the 40,000 gold which took me a month to accumulate.

I also see a lot of players complaining that matchmaking has to do with trophies. OF COURSE IT DOES YOU IDIOTS IT HAS TO. Otherwise there would be level 4 players in legend arena and leveling up cards/donating would be literally meaningless. Some of this game is patience and upgrading your cards. You shouldn't be able to make it to legend arena a day after you get the game even if you are an incredible player (I do think that gold from wins shouldn't have a daily cap so that f2p players have a reason to grind as much as they want).

Finally addressing the new tournaments which were added. They cost a large chunk of cash to create and even the first place prize doesn't contain enough cards to make it worth the money or the time. In a tournament that costs $5 of gems to create, the first place person receives a chest which is similar to a gold chest. What. The. Hell. I really do love this game but I don't even go near the tournaments. It is a waste of time, costs a bundle of real money if you want to create one, it takes a decade to find a joinable tournament, and sometimes top players join them destroying the meaning of the word competition for lower level players.

The game is very well thought out and most of the cards are very well balanced but give f2p players more access to legendaries (maybe give players a random legendary upon achieving legendary arena) and please buff the log so it is not the useless piece of crap that it currently looks like. Also the tournaments need MAJOR improvements. I understand that you need to make money on the game but the cost to make even a small tournament is very excessive and yields a very underwhelming chest that takes quite a while to unlock. The way tournaments are right now simply makes supercell look extremely greedy. Tournaments should cost gold to create instead of gems as players will still spend money to buy gold in order to create tournaments, but it will also give f2p players a greater access to tournaments. Additionally players should be able to set level regulations on tournaments to make the competition more fair. Side note: Although I personally have no problem with either hog, Royal Giant must be nerfed. The use rate of them both is extremely high, maybe nerf hog a little along with a major nerf to RG to add a little spice back to the game, it may even work better than adding new useless cards like you did in the last update ;). NOTE: ADDING A BILLION EXTRA TROOPS IS PART OF WHAT DESTROYED CLASH OF CLANS.

If someone actually reads all this and agrees with my opinions I think it would make this game even better than it already is.

Clash Royale 2 stars for the memories

Before I start this review, I just want to say that I've been playing since global launch, have all the cards, 20 max challenge wins, and almost 20K challenge cards won at around 4.4K trophies with about $25 spent. I think I'm more than qualified to express my opinions about CR, having seen the game and the community develop over two years. Also, I might get carried away with my rants, so this could be quite lengthy. First of all, I want to pride Supercell on their ability to come up with a multitude of excuses and cash grab schemes, all while ignoring glaring issues and player complaints. Secondly, I've come to realize that the community cares more about this game than the devs do, which is never a good thing. SC brags about having a small dev team, which is again, not a good thing. But let's start from the beginning. Flash back to two years ago. CR is finally released globally, which means that there's an influx of new players, including myself. The game seemed pretty simple, and I breezed through my first few matches. But already I had fallen into a trap. Chest unlocks and free rewards are designed to make you come back every few hours. Soon, when you're addicted, you find yourself taking "breaks" just to unlock that Silver Chest, or open that Free Chest. Card and account levels have the same concept, to give you a feeling of "advancement" and make you want more. Granted, most games employ these tactics, so let me move on. The game was looking pretty good at the beginning. I think the first established metas we're spell cycle and "Sim City". SC adressed these issues with appropriate spell and building nerfs. Along with adding trophy inflation and removing entry costs for battles, the dev team did a lot. The playerbase was growing, and it was great. Soon an update rolled out with six new cards. Two legendary cards, which were of course ridiculously hard to obtain. Before you knew it, players were starting to complain about them. Another card that was added in this update was the Royal Giant. Maybe you've heard of him. Maybe you've smashed your phone against the wall because of him, or maybe you have him max level and play him on ladder. Anyway, everybody thought he was really underpowered. In the next balance update, a few nerfs and buffs were appropriately applied, including a huge range boost for the RG. I think there were a few other changes after, but he stays almost exactly the same as he did back then, with only one second extra deploy time. But I'll get to that later. Everybody still seemed pretty happy with the game. Updates and cards were rolling out pretty fast, and players were hyped for them. New content was being pumped out, and it was GOOD content. Mostly. I'm not sure when the devs started losing interest in this game. Balance changes still came out regularly, but in between, metas were getting stale. Diversity wasn't part of ladder anymore. You got punished for playing different decks, because you didn't level them up. Matchmaking was, and still is, the main reason why people quit this game. Meanwhile, I was getting better and still enjoying the game. Ignorance is bliss, as they say. YouTubers were pumping out daily content. New updates were still being hyped. What's not to like? But then they did it again. Elite Barbarians. Sound familiar? They seemed underpowered when released, so SC buffed them. A lot. RG and eBarbs are labelled as "cancerous" just because of their ability to be overleveled, not to mention that they're way too prevalent at 3K - 5K trophies. Enough getting sidetracked though. It seemed that balancing was taking much longer than it should, and often it was unsatisfactory. People were starting to lose interest. I had a thought one day, out of the blue, after watching maxed eBarbs destroy my tower in 4 seconds, "Why am I doing this? This isn't fun..." But by no means am I saying that the game isn't balanced. There's a "tournament standard", where all cards are balanced(somewhat). The thing is, to play in challenges, it requires gems. Why does the ONLY half balanced gamemode require gems? There was even a weekly card challenge for a while, where you could get a few rares or epics. But SC removed it. They removed 2v2 Clan Chests. They hyped Touchdown and then gave it to us for a week. They removed the old shop, where you could buy certain amounts of cards, for gold, not gems. They removed Free Chests every 4 hours, which meant less gems. They removed free entries for some challenges, but the overwhelmingly negative player response basically forced them to change it back. Their "customer support" is basically a bot sending pre-made messages. They release obviously broken cards, and then nerf them a month later after players buy them. Despite balancing every two months, they refuse to fix obvious bugs. However, when a mistake with an in-app purchase allows players to get free chests, they fix it mere hours later, even deleting the gems of players who paid for them. Ladder is as broken as it was a year ago, and still the game is balanced based only on tourney standard. But that's enough from me. I'm just one player among millions. Try the game out yourself if you're deciding whether or not to get it. Maybe you'll have fun. I did while it lasted.

Clash Royale 3.5/5. But the need to buy gems and wait times. Ugh

First off, you kinda killed coc, w/with this game, and w/not balancing the game yet, and offering a new way to get resources...

Ok... So on to Clash Royale! Right... Well, I guess I should say that you really should try to keep both games relevant, if you want them to be "profitable", so I'd advise that..

But... The game lets see? Is it COC or not, I'm kinda wondering, since it feels kinda familiar, and it kinda has the same feel... But no, it's a completely new game, a card game at that in COC style.
Pros:
So let's see... It's a pretty addicting game. It's fast, it's quick, and you're more or less trying to beat your opponents or conquer them card-style, rather than steal stuff and upgrading it w/that loot from a raid..
It's fast since you can get a match near instaneously.. It's great that I'm not worrying about loot constantly, or building up an army for what can be a 1 hour army.

The cons:First of all,the map is kinda small.. I mean it's kinda cramped to put more armies. And I guess you can figure out to put an extra tower, or whatever you decide to do.
Second, speaking on that, card slots could go up to 5 or 6, if you were to do the above.. and who knows increase the max elixir or production rate can go up.

Ok so, the big problem... It's all about getting the chests and troops, and advancing... And gold/gems.

But chests.. nothing wrong w/wanting to make a nice profit, and having timers on them...But you can only open 1 at a time; oh did I mention it has to be those daily free chests you earn; crown, and chests YOU BUY ARE NOT AFFECTED.

You can have only 4 chests. That's just bad, and slow, at least give more slots, or let me open two chests at a time or reduce the waiting time--give us something...

And prices are crazy for getting cards and upgrading stuff(no I'm not talking about gems).. If I can only open one of these at a time... Do you know how long it takes to get a supposed upgrade or let's just say buying an epic card? 2000 gold for an epic, and 3600 if I want another one from the shop? Maybe.. A lower set price on epics and reduction?

Chests go up in price, in higher arenas.and yes IT IS GEMS., but you don't have a timer on your butt, so yay?More consistency, and more gems to keep it going?Set price w/out too much of a price jump?

Gold is earned thru opening chests, and thru donating troops. You don't get gold for achieving quests, or for selling cards. And you can't use them other than for upgrading cards, or buying it. You can't even raid gold; :D:D More gold, options?

Gems:you buy them, or earn them.. About what 50 total from achievements? And daily free gems from chests. Better get used to it, a giant chest costs 210, magic costs 350-400+, and super magic costs [protected] to start out, and only goes up as you progress. Goes up 10% in price, I think? Maybe more gems for the money?

Elixir is only used during battle.

Cards: You get these thru donations, or mainly chests. Yes, you got common /rares/ epics/ legends. And yes you can get one the last 3 thru a free chest or silver ones(get used to that), but it's not often, and be really lucky for epics or legends. But you either pay up for a giant/magic/super magic to get one of those... So have a big wallet to play this game or learn to grind it out. Or request for commons/rares.

Shop: Ok 3 cards per day, and you can't change the selection, or get more...

More about chests:silver chests are 3hr timer , and are frequent,Golden is at 8hr and is every 4 -5 drops ,Giant and magic chests is 12hrs and every 50-60 drops.Super Magic is 1% chance of showing up.
Maybe offer us a 3-8% chance of giant/magic/super magic chests of showing up?...Maybe 8-20% chance of not seeing a silver chest?

Another thing on chests: 80 cards from a giant chest? You get stuff in 3-8 bunches. More like as in 25 commons from this card, another 25 commons,13 rare, 6 rare (maybe)maybe an epic., maybe a 5th-6th bunch, seeing as giant chests have a ton of cards.
And you get a set different number of cards from the chest, and every other chest you.
So if you buy a giant chest w/160+ cards, you are getting 50 commons,50 commons, 30 rares, 30 commons,30+ rares, maybe an epic, maybe a 5th-6th bunch of cards. It depends on your chest.

Not exactly fun, if you like getting killed early on.. And when I mean early on.. I mean as in your first 2 weeks or so.. Or as soon as you learn you'll have to fill this thing w/your money, if you want the epic stuff consistently, or if you want to upgrade those things... And btw, the first 2 weeks or maybe 1 week is pretty crucial to a game's survival, and to how it's played... maybe earlier then that? Probably 10 days for this game to see if you want to still game on... Better be prepared to learn this game's mechanics, and stuff.

Oh, but finally I guess troops/cards.. The COC troops, and some new ones! Btw, COC has gone downhill, thanks to the supposed hyped up DEC update, which changed the game to a far less exciting one... But anyways...

Troops... You get them from chests.. Simple right? Well you get the good cards from a gold/giant/magic/super magic, well more of them anyways... It's not a bad thing here, really , except you get them thru advancing to the bigger bowls..., and like I said, you might be crushed early on, so progressing might be a pain.

Overall long review short.Bigger map, decreased chests timers and better drops, and maybe more opened up chests. I want to like this game.. But it takes so long to open up a dumb chest, and getting destroyed by a baby drag/prince is just annoying. But those things r my biggest gripes, and I'm pretty sure every1 has these same gripes, and these r pretty much what every1 should know on what needs to be improved, and this game's longevity.

Clash Royale 7 Years in and so many fundamental problems

Hello Supercell, community, and new players. ——————
I used to be a huge fan of this game (it still holds sentimental value of course). I was active from the iOS launch until about 2 years ago when life got too busy. I ran a very successful clan for 4 years that reached the top 200 in the USA. I reached rankings individually as well. Not by any small feat does any clan or player reach rankings. I’ve got a lot of experience and a foundation to talk about this game from. I’d say that I am experienced in every facet of the game (including in how to spend too much money). ——————
To begin, I’ll start with some praise for the game. This game is still so much more accessible and fun than almost any other smartphone game I can think of. It definitely beats out the accessibility of other Supercell games. It has a unique play style and so many different ways to play the game. Sadly, upon returning to the game from a 2 year break I find that the game still has the same fundamental problems that it did from very early on.
——————
The first I’ll suggest is a major lack of balance. This game has over 100 unique cards. Yet from the beginning certain cards and strategies have been so overpowered because of either stats or mechanics that 7 years later people are still copying decks invented in years 1 and 2. This is a major problem. How much fun can anyone be having when they either only find success using the same old deck (that they did not create themselves) or annoyingly have to lose to other players (who you know copied the deck). That just isn’t fun for either player involved. Yet the same scenario will keep repeating because the deck copiers have a hard time finding success any other way because the game is completely unbalanced. Which leads to more deck copiers which perpetuates and compounds the problem. And this fundamental problem takes away the possible diversity and unique strategies that could arise from having over 100 cards to choose from. Instead allowing for only a couple of successful strategies and a very small number of cards that everyone will be seeing over and over again. It’s boring. And the opposite of fun. Only the devs can fix this problem.
——————
The second fundamental problem is this: the game is also unbalanced because of its huge diversity in cards. With over 100 cards to use, it is completely impossible to make any deck that can account for even most of the other decks or strategies it might come up against. This means that a lot of matches come down to the luck of who you get matched up against instead of skill. Which leads right into the 3rd fundamental problem. There is a matchmaking system and it is rigged. This 3rd one is a little bit conspiratory. But after years of experience with the matchmaking system it’s almost impossible to ignore this feeling that you get when playing with a single deck for multiple games that you’re being matched up against the same types of decks over and over again. If you switch decks then you’ll find yourself getting matched up against different decks but they will soon become monotonous again. There have even been many occasions where I’ve played the same person two or three times in a row. And that should be virtually impossible. I’ll leave this one at that. It could just be coincidence, but if it’s not please fix this developers. I would understand the need for a pity system because bad players do exist and we don’t want them to experience losing over and over again. It would make sense that every few games they lose they should be matched up against someone with a deck that stands no chance to theirs. But please make matchmaking be based on complete randomness instead of any engine that decides who gets to play who——————
The next fundamental problem I will mention is regarding clans. This is something Supercell as a game developer has continued to fail at and ignore for the last 11 years. Starting with clans: from the beginning this game has hindered the ability of its players to participate in and run clans. Which is really a missed opportunity because one of the best things this game could have been doing from the start is helping people build relationships with the online community of players they interact with. The game is 7 years old now and still has the same basic clan functions as it had from the start. No improvements, no new additions (except to add micro transaction products to the clans). As a player that ran a very successful clan for years and probably was in charge hundreds of players over that period of time, this needs to change and players have been calling for change for years. In both the Supercell games I’ve played, everyone relies on outside resources to be able to run clans and actually communicate in a clear and concise way. I am not going to offer ideas for what it should be changed to (unless Supercell wants to reach out for opinions). There are many ways Supercell could go about making changes to anything I’ve discussed so far and other places have already put forth many ideas. Supercell just needs to actually do something about it.
——————
Lastly, I will mention river races. Early on this game focused on separating itself from clash of clans. River race was part of that separation. I cannot think of anything more boring about the game than river races. It needs more variety to it, more random chance perhaps. Aside from being boring, it actually punishes any clan that doesn’t have 50/50 players participating (which is extremely hard to keep up week by week). Aside from clans, it punishes individual players for not having max level cards. The difference between 1 level of card let alone 2 or 3 is drastic. This punishes new and returning players in river races and ranked matches. This is a huge problem for the game and is one way that copying Clash of Clan’s level system is actively harming the game.
——————
Thank you for reading this far. I will continue hoping that this game will improve in these areas.

every player I met in arena 14 and 15 are always so toxic even if I win and whenever I don’t win it’s because a player is well ahead of my level and cards and no one of a lower level can beat them so it is impossible to get out of arena 15 now

The matchmaking in this game is unfair. I'm not sure if this will be sent to anyone who has control over this, but I would be happy if u even showed this to someone who did. Whenever a new deal comes out, I am forced to stop playing the game for the day due to the amount of players spending money on the game to advance. I understand this is how the game...

Clash Royale Matchmaking

Please fix matchmaking for trophy ladder. Why on earth are players who are pay to play are matched up against players who don’t pay for the season pass? It’s such a simple fix. If someone pays 2-3 months in a row for the pass or elite cards in the shop then they should be in matchmaking with players who have done the same. It is unfair to play against multiple decks in a row that have 3+ cards higher level that your deck. It feels like the company is forcing people to pay money to be good at the game. This isn’t fair because most people can’t afford or don’t want to pay $15 a month for an app. Y’all have lost touch with your customers, especially with how times are now with living expenses being through the roof. A lot of people use this game to pass the time and relief stress, but this game causes more stress than anything with how bad matchmaking is. Y’all make too much money for it to still be this unfair.

Desired outcome: Fix matchmaking so it is more fair & competitive. It isn’t a fair game when someone plays against a deck that has 3+ cards that are higher level. No amount of skill can consistently win those games to make the game fair.

Clash Royale evolution cards

I have been playing clash royal for 7 year. Until recently i don't have any issue while playing the game, but recently after the arrival of evolution troops in cash royal the game has become super boaring. Most importantly the evolve fire cracker, i think it is the most used and overpower card in the top ladder. i used to play clash royal for fun, but recently it isn't fun anymore, more i play the more my headace. I think that the evolution troops should be removed from the league. As we know, the league should be fair for everyone. only those who as pass royal can easily unlock the evolution. And most importantly, please do something about fire cracker evolution as as it is over power and have to face it match after match.

Clash Royale Clash Royale mega knight

For a while now Megaknight has been way to over powered with everyone using him. He is not balanced with having too much health and damage including area damage and his jump. People who don’t use him always are at a disadvantage making it unfair and some of my friends are uninstalling the game, and I’m thinking about it. He needs to get changed, and everyone knows it.

Desired outcome: Nerf Megaknight!

Clash Royale Like it, But not though

So I am pretty high in the game reaching the 5300 trophy count and just for reference about 26-32 trophies each match you play. That doesn’t bother me, I enjoy games with challenge. But boy, I saw there was so much more. Let’s start off with something most low level reviews say, it’s a pay to win game, and the head company Supercell is greedy with the money...This is why my deck is full (6/8) of common cards (lowest rarity) and I can around 30 and maybe 100 in a day if I get lucky with chests. Ok, the pay to win gets really obvious when playing against people who just buy or “gem” their way through the game, basically buying and buying gems getting more and more chests and leveling up their cards. If you see pros, they’ll most likely have 1000+ gems at least. Ok I have a second reason, the matchmaking is sometimes killing me. Sometimes I’ve gone against players who have a way higher level king tower (basically experience or XP) than me and it gets frustrating because the only way to gain experience is through leveling up your cards, and donating. For me it’s both. Oh and the lower levels that beat me also known as less experience do one thing: they stay with a deck, gem up that deck ( get higher levels) to crush our measly ones. A last reason is just how much time the game wants you to spend on it. It’s weird how I get so addicted i don’t care when my phone is really low percent and then when I die mid-battle, oh the poo hit the fan. I get furious and think about getting a new phone even though I have an iPhone XR! That’s crazy! The weird thing that creeped me out is adults do play this game and sometimes get a bit too, in depth with their life. Some talk about how he dropped his phone while smoking outside and that’s why he’s been inactive, I’ve also had and adult flip out on his boss and saying he’s gonna do something(it was censored) to his kids. Yikes. This one was really bad of him, and apparently this parent backed out while paying attention to his game and hit another car parked (what!?) and talking about it on his clan about it. Look I’m not into whatever is with your business but please I think they need to freaking know that! Oh, and some kids probably my age are so frigging stupid. We have like these most likely teens saying inappropriate actions after losing battles. And the worst part, they change some letters but you still get the meaning ( not censored) and the responses are also pretty good. The last thing I wanted to talk about was balancing, yeah Supercell is dumb, like silly dumb, like dumb dee dee dumb dumb DUMB. The card balances really don’t help, because some cards I really like are like too little in value. And some are like what the ***! Hah, for instance currently royal giant is the most overpowered common. Look, it’s really not the card, it’s what you synergize with it. And oh lord, help... its synergy with cards like log, zap, witch, wizard, lightning kill me . And elite barbarians, oh my goodness those dudes do work! Like a lot of damage. Once again, not entirely about the card, it’s what it connects with. Overall, thank you for reaching the end of this whole freaking essay/ rant and byeeeeeee!

Clash Royale Cash grab

As so many pay-2-win games, Clash Royale starts of impressive graphics and catchy game idea. I have played A LOT of games on the iOS platform for years. This model is getting tiresome. Here is how this game works. Battle your opponent head to head. Each trying to drop game pieces (cards) that duke it out to try and destroy either one of three towers. Two side defensive towers and the main center tower. Either side towers is one point, but beat the center tower and you win instantly. The highest score in the case of the center tower standing wins. Different play pieces (cards) have different abilities and they counter other cards with their abilities. Each card costs a certain amount of continuously charging purple energy. Some cost more than others and are generally more powerful, the more energy they cost. This is the central concept. A person levels which increases the power and damage their towers deal. Cards are collected and allow the use of those pieces. Each battle deck of 8 cards, only 4 are available and rotate randomly during a match.
So the player levels and acquires new cards by free chests that unlock every so many hours and wins get crown points to open a once-per-day crown chest (cost of 10 crowns, which are points per match as mentioned above). To level the cards in the battle deck, a player must acquire more cards of that type each level. 2 card to level 2; 4 to level to 3; 10 to level to 4; 40 to level to 5... By 6 it takes 100 cards to go to level 7.
I will stop going into game play details and cut to the chase. There is no way a free player can compete with the paid players. They out rank the free player so quickly the division makes the game unplayable. Losing match after match and barely winning matches without the satisfaction of being able to destroy the center tower gets pretty old pretty fast. Then they make you buy gems to buy chests for random cards. You think a chest that drops 150 cards sounds awesome? Well it isn't. It's a fraud. You get several rares, maybe an elite or two, but then 143 of the same common BS card. Wow. What a crock of bull. Then you earn chests winning those occasional matches and the most basic silver ones take THREE HOURS to unlock and you can only hold 4 chests at a time. Second to lowest is the gold chest which requires 8 hours to unlock. If lucky to find a magic chest or super magic and they are 12 to 24 hours to unlock. Meanwhile you will not get to keep any chests you earn while battling if you win because you cannot toss your lower level chests. Not unless you want to buy gems for an outrageous amount of cash to unlock them early. Pfffft! This game is TRASH. Screw the developers who make these things. Go back to making a freestanding game that costs $30-50 and create novelty add-ons for fans who reward makers for good games. This type of game is nothing but a greedy cash-grab.
***
Do yourself a favor and move on to something else, unless you want to drop $100 to start and then rapidly dump hundreds more as you start competing against more whales. There is no AI to play against either. It is ALL other live players.

DELETED!

Clash Royale Deeply Flawed at its Core

Clash Royale is a fun, but deeply flawed game. At its best, it’s a fun game to play with/against friends if you’re hanging together. At its worst, it represents what happens when a meta card defines a broken matchmaking system.

Let me provide some backstory. Initially, I got the game when it first game. I had a lot of fun, and all of my friends throughly enjoyed the game as well. Eventually, I reached Hog Mountain (when then represented Legendary Arena) and decided to take a break from the game. When I returned, I discovered that my data hadn’t saved, so I had to start over.

I was excited at this idea, because it would give me a fresh start and the chance to experiment with new decks. I quickly rode the ranks (I had been in Legendary Arena after all), and reached arena 9. From there my progress slowed down a bit, but I finally reached Legendary again.

My first fundamental issue comes with the meta at these higher arenas. The Mega Knight, a 7 elixir card, represents a good portion of decks in those arenas, both in having the card in trying to counter it. This card is incredibly powerful, and usually takes an assortment of cards to stop it. This is the most frustrating card I’ve ever had to face (and I was playing when Elite Barbs first got released). The card has been nerfed enough where the player base can counter it, but the fact that so many people utilize the card makes it frustrating. It’s used as a crutch, and frankly discourages any sort of innovation on the part of the player base. It’s quite literally come to define the whole game, and if you’re in Legendary Arena, you either have the Mega Knight or have figured out how to stop him.

My second fundamental issue in this game is matchmaking. The matchmaking is broken in that there is not middle ground of fairness in games. Either you face someone who counters your deck in every single aspect, has cards 2-3 lvls higher than you, or has some combination of the previous two. The opposite is true too. You’ll face players who you absolutely stomp, because your deck is just better than theirs. The game knows this too, and will intentionally match you with players when it wants a given result. You’ll quickly see a pattern emerge where you win 3-4 games, and then lose 3-4 games. So, rather than try and build a better match engine that seeks to put evenly matched players together, it creates a system of clear wins and losses which take some of the fun out of the game. Trust me, I understand that you shouldn’t win every game. At your trophy max, you really should split games 50/50. But, their current system is born out of an inability to make something better.

Finally, I want to express my opposition to the tiebreaker at the end of each round. By draining the health of the both players towers equally, it disadvantages those of us who might be lower level than others in our same arena. For example, as someone with lvl 9 towers, I will lose against some who is level 10 towers (if all damage done is equal) simply because they’re a higher rank. The game punishes you for being a low level in a high arena.

When you get this game, prepare for hours of fun, and many more hours of frustration.

Clash Royale Players get rewarded for playing awfully

Me as a player who has spent maybe 20 dollars in this game(before the pass Royal even existed) I believe that the pass Royal has ruined the game, progressing is completely turned on it’s head, so you have players with level 13 and 14 cards in matches with the skill level of a arena 11 player. The difference between a F2P player and a paying player has been increasing rapidly over the past 2 years, I want to point out that clash Royal is a amazing game I think that most cards are balanced correctly but my main problem with the game is that players get rewarded for playing horribly, like actually horrible gameplay for example I used to play a 2.8 cycle deck with Royal hogs, musketeer, cannon, royal delivery, you get were I’m going with that so my opponent will place a pekka in the back perfectly fine, when that pekka reaches the bridge I will use log and Royal delivery to take out the support troops and then I will sometimes place musketeer and some skeletons to distract, (I have a level 11 musketeer) well my opponent will use a fireball and kill the musketeer which means the fireball is 12+ which is ok but when I check the replays I notice that my opponents fire ball is level 14 or 13, in challenger 1 players have maxed out their decks in challenger 1, I you can’t see the problem with this that you are special needs. Please supercell tone down the rewards on the pass Royal please it’s just the most pay2win thing in the game in clash of clans it might work but when you have borderline oppressive cards like megaknight and balloon and hog rider especially which btw a hog rider does more damage than a equal level lightning and has more Health than a ice golem a pretty much designated mini tank? Once again when these cards are level 14 from players buying books and magic cards in just disgusting because let’s say you have a lv 11 cannon and you place it in the middle so if a troop reaches it both towers start shooting at that troop, now take a level difference of 3 and apply that same interaction and you will have a significantly different outcome the hog rider will get a hit on your tower which keep in mind does more damage than a equal level lightning on tower which is a 6 elixir card keep in mind and apply that same interaction but with your opponent having a megaknight, which, arrows, goblin barrel, you name it I just can’t see how there is a chance for the free to play player it’s just not possible especially one who downloaded the game recently and have low level card because they downloaded the game 4 months ago and happen to really like the game and are pretty good at it, they just get shutdown by a level 14 megaknight after a good counter push. Please supercell I am once again asking for you to make some changes to the game also side note could add normal cards now and not just champions and super cards because us low ladder players have been waiting for a new card for a long time, that the last card released was the goblin drill. For players still playing this game I applaud your patience and skill in the game for being able to tolerate it and maybe even be successful at it. I’m sad to see this wonderful game feeling more and more pay2win.

Clash Royale Currently a waste of time

Clash Royale has the potential to be one of the best mobile games of all time. However it is currently not worth the time and effort required to invest in it. Supercell has been money [censored]s in the past, but this game ices the cake. You will have much difficulty getting to arena 8 and level 10 without forking over hundreds of dollars for gems. That being said, it is possible to achieve both of those by grinding out matches for months and months. Unfortunately for those who do not spend money on this game will get matched up often against those who do. The ones who pay money will have insanely strong cards for their player level. This means you will be matched against much stronger opponents randomly. It happens way too often. Despite the obvious pay to win mentality of this game, and it's brutal matchmaking system setting you up to fail, the biggest issue with this game is it's community. This community is the most classless and toxic group of players I have seen. I would take the community from Call of Duty any day over these scumbags. Supercell in their infinite wisdom have implemented a taunt system in this game, which means you will be laughed at constantly by your much stronger opponent as he annihilates you and your troops with much mightier equipment and men. This has led to a bunch of whining and raging in the clan chats. I know several friends who have become so enraged by the players, that they have deleted it and not touched it since. I myself deleted it for awhile and took several weeks off. This game made me go to bed many nights in a very gloomy and frustrated mood. Many curses and bad thoughts ran through my mind as the game seemed to screw me in every way possible, and my opponents being complete classless [censored]s only made it worse. I have never understood why anyone taunts their opponents in this game. You get nothing from it, it only aggravates your opponent and likely ruins their day. This game is ruined by the abusive trolls who take advantage of the system to make honest players rage and sometimes quit the game for a very long time. Supercell has stated they have this system because they want the game to evict strong emotions from players. This is utter bullhonkey. When players rage, they sometimes go on spending sprees and fork over 100 dollars or more on gems. They use these gems to improve their cards. They go on a small winning streak with their new cards, but once again the matchmaking system will start to screw them. It's a never ending cycle that leaves honest players angry, frustrated, and wishing they had never played the game. This game is Supercell's black hole for money. I have seen you tubers spend thousands of dollars on this game. That is ludicrous and has caused Supercell's greed to fly through the roof. I would not recommend this game to anyone right now. It's a waste of time, you're not going to be able to progress well, the community is not helpful and full of trolls and raging players. The matchmaking system is rigged, (literally) search up about it, the system is designed to screw you. As I said, great potential. However the current quality of the game is in the gutter, and I hope to see it improve soon.

Clash Royale pay to win for long term players. fix the leveling system

obviously this game has a lot of fun within it. i’ve played it for several years and always seem to come back, but after playing so long, i’ve noticed theres a sort of glass ceiling as to how for you can grow that very very very slowly raises. due to the games card level system, you’ll almost never have an even matchup once you reach the leagues. this is especially bad at particularly player level 12.

it is rare for me to fight someone with equal card levels to me, and i think i know why. Let me explain the issue. The way to level up your player takes an absurd amount of experience. Im talking tens of thousands. As of now, the main way to gain experience at a high level is by leveling up your individual cards. This is not easy though, as you only get cards every few hours from chests or the shop, both of which only give minimal amounts of RANDOM cards (with the exception of magic items which i will get to). To make it worse, card upgrades can cost 100,000 coins once you get to high levels, which is not an easily attainable amount. And even when you DO level cards up, the average experience you can expect to earn is a couple hundred. Because of this, it takes months of casual play to even get close to jumping a level. (and i say casual play lightly because i still find myself on this game at least an hour a day sometimes.)

So why is leveling up the issue for unbalanced matches? because of how much experience it takes to gain a level, you could easily have a deck with max level cards (level 14) and still be only PLAYER level 11, 12, 13, etc. So when i go into a game as a free-to-play player, even though my PLAYER level is on par with my opponent, my CARD levels are a few levels down. this happens a LOT, and really ruins the enjoyment of the game.

To put it into perspective, at my player level, i am frequently going up against people who are equipped with cards to literally be playing at the highest possible arena and level, but instead are in the lowest possible league and stomping on me because they are labeled as my equal. Leveling up cards gives them more health, damage, and/or duration, thusly changing the outcomes of even the most BASIC of card interactions, dealing more damage and even destroying my towers when they shouldn’t, and causing me to have to overspend elixir on defenses because my cards don’t have a high enough level, thus losing games with no real fault of my own.

There are ways to avoid this, with the addition or magic items and tournaments, but both of which generally costing gems, which are NOT free in large quantities. If they do give magic items, they’re in scarce quantities.

So my solution? Increase the player level cap by a few and make it easier to level up. By increasing the possible levels by a good amount, you will be able to load into a game against someone near your level, and the odds of them having an equal deck level will be greater as higher level cards would actually be reciprocated within their PLAYER level too. Just a thought.

I love this game but i have no choice other than to stop playing because EVERY time i get on, i am against someone with an unfair advantage. it’s not fun and it’s incredibly boring now.

Clash Royale Pitting me against people 12 times better than me

As a game so widely known and popular (my dad nonstop plays it and he hardly ever plays mobile games), I'd expect most details to be at its best. Nope! I just began playing it about 4 days ago, I'd had it before a while back and I didn't enjoy it, I just wanted to give it another try and play in my friends' clan. I cannot get above 400 trophies! When I was level 3, I was getting pitted against level 4 people the majority of my games! Then I reached level four finally, thinking "oh yay now I'ma beat those level 3 noobs," but no! Every game is against level 4s that are also 12 times better than me! I don't understand how that works. They should make you fight against people with similar skill stats, but I'm pretty sure it's decided who you fight by the number of trophies they have. This game gets me way so worked up and frustrated, that it's strait up not fun!
After every single match I play, whether I win or lose, I immediately regret even starting it; if I win, I don't want to play another match because I know I'll just lose 8 times again and lose all my trophies. If I lose, well, I lose my trophies! Every single time I hit that Battle button and the loading screen comes up, I have an existential crisis. Why am I here? What's the point? What's the accomplishment? What's the reward?
And the MENUS. Oh, the MENUS! The beginning of the game tells you how to play the matches and points where to click. That's it. Then it throws you in and expects you to immediately understand. Everything in the menus are compact together, making sure the microtransactions and in-app purchases are easily visible from the majority of the tabs.
THE CHESTS. you can carry 4 chests, which all take real time to open. The rarer the chest, the longer the wait. I absolutely HATE games that do this, its REALLY freaking annoying. BuT dOnT WorRY!1! YoU cAN spEnD GeMS to UnLock ThEM RIghT aWAy!1! And, would you know it, one of the only possible ways to get those gems is to pay for them.
If I EARN the chest, I SHOULD BE ABLE TO OPEN IT. Don't make me wait. I'm a millennial, I have an attention span of 10 seconds.
The only reason I downloaded this game is because I wanted to play with my dad and friends. I can't even do that though, because their trophy limit to get into their clan is 2000. I completely understand that this isn't the developers' fault, but golly, I can't get past 400!
I feel like this game was mainly made for professional esports, and I gotta say, if you play professional esports on a mobile game, especially one like clash royale, you're the most pathetic esport player ever.
In conclusion, this game includes all my favorite characteristics to ever exist in gaming; waiting, losing, waiting some more, losing eight more times, microtransactions, in-game purchases, needing to waste my life in order to be in my friends' clan, cluttered menus, and try-hard esport players. I give this 8 piles of horse crap out of 5.

Also, I've never written a review before in my life. That's how much I'm frustrated with this game. The only reason I rated it 2 stars is because I can somewhat kind of see why some certain people would enjoy it, but not me.

Clash Royale Done

This used to be a great game but it’s horrible. I understand the idea that you lose games here and there and that Supercell has arranged the game for equal matches played but they’re are too many instances where I just lose for weeks straight, always the last two weeks of the season. I started keeping statistics to my game wins and loses, since you’re unable to keep track of them in the game, in terms of being able to rate your play on average with a percentage of the damage done to all three towers. I’m not going to get into how this algorithm works, it’s actually simple, it’s just math. The algorithm breaks down your playing time and tells you what your average damage is and keeps a percentage of your wins and tower damage. I went a little further since the game allows you to have ten (10) decks, which decided to find out how many times my elixir pump is either my sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth, and tenth card. The first two weeks it’s an equal amount to of time where it’s either the sixth or seventh card but the second two weeks it stays at the tenth position 86% of the time and ninth card 14%. I’ve been running this algorithm for the last five months and it’s been consistent as all get out. When I write the company their response is everyone goes through a losing streak, but we can see your a good/experienced player and they offer the solution of taking a break. Now, there’s nothing wrong with that at first glance but once you think about it and the culture of the game you realize that Supercell has set the game up in order for you not to do something like that. Why? Well, you join clans and you play games to help the clan advance and place first in the clan wars portion of the game. Clans almost always want you to play the game but the always want you to participate in clan wars. Missing these will result in you being kicked out of the clan. It’s just disconcerting that the company won’t give you simple answers to how they match you up. I’ve been playing the past two weeks and and can’t chip away damage at the tower more than 1500 hp damage, normally I’m able to counter and destroy a tower or two but always in the game. Every two weeks before the season comes to an end I experience the absolute be situations. I’ve paid for a monthly pass since they’ve started offering it and this has been consistent since the start. I’ve been playing video games since I was a kid and never experienced losses like I do here. The best ones are the matches where I’m able to chip away at their tower within low double digits to single digits but always just falling short. I really enjoyed this game but I can’t back it if they’re not going to be honest about their process. Here’s a little story: back in the early eighties there was a game called Pac-Man. It appeared to be this sort of difficult game to advance in and it really was. I was a kid back then but years later it was revealed that the ghost move in the same pattern each time they leave their area. The only time they divert from that is of Pac-Man is in their vicinity. What I’m saying here is the only ones who knew this information initially was the creators. Same situation here. Thank Supercell, it’s been fun (until it no longer was).

Clash Royale Demoralizing

This game has become really depressing to play and appears one sided with some players than others. The game used to be fun in the beginning to play, but has since become monotonous and just an all around frustrating bore. You go through the motions of logging in, opening chests, donating troop to fellow clan members, if you're in a clan, which is really just a way to get more troops you want at a lower wait time, and playing matches until you have grinded enough crowns out of these played matches to get yet another chest. Now what I mean by one sided is you have to strategically decide your plan of attack to destroy one of three towers. Once you destroy one of the sub towers, you can work on the main tower. At this point, battling becomes more frustrating, because you then have to contend with defending yourself from one side and trying to mount an attack, which pretty much is pointless. Troops have a wait time to deploy, which renders them attack able but unable to attack that your opponent can decimate in one move. There is also an added wait time to launching multiple troops at once, meaning troops B and C have to wait until A has fully deployed. This is something that wasn't there in Clash of Clans and it becomes frustrating when playing, because it creates the illusion that you're playing this almighty entity that can't be defeated, and nothing you do can help you. And while you're trying to formulate a defense, you're opponent uses this wait time to put more troops on the ground in his/her territory, an area you are not able to go into. In Clash of Clans, you dropped a troop or unit and their attack pattern was instant. There was no wait time and the level of defenses was only hindered by your ability to plan out your funding for your village. Next to that, the elixir flow doesn't help matters, because of the recent complaint, once the double elixir time is active, your opponent can then double the onslaught of their troops for a sure victory. Once you win a match and get the one or two crowns for it, there is a sense of "finally" or "about time feel to the game. Which for games is not a reaction you should receive from gamers. In CoC, you got a genuine feeling of success when you attacked, even if minuscule the reward or payoff. There is this actual tension to playing the game and wondering whether you are going to get the one star your units are striving for. There was drama in wondering whether their defenses would hold up or if you had the right troops for the job, whether their traps were laid out in front of you or not. Clash Royale doesn't seem to have that here, you just go through the motions, playing until you finally achieved something. Which is disappointing, because you always seemed to achieve something in CoC, and when you failed, it was either because you didn't plan, or the defenses were too robust for your troops. Point is, Supercell tried something and it didn't work out. Not for me anyways, the formula for Clash Royale just isn't there, and what should be an interesting game, becomes something tedious and frustrating. I'm not saying don't play this game, because you may actually like it, and if you do, hats off to you, I'm saying, decide for yourself, but be prepared to go through the motions.

Clash Royale Great game, terrible update

Hey! Long time clash Royale player here (played since launch, recently got into the game again with a new account since I lost my og one) and I’ve come here to say one thing: the newest update is EXTREMELY disappointing. It’s clear that with this most recent update, supercell was only chasing the money. Most notably, the increase in price and decrease In rewards of the battle pass. That is just inexcusable. According to supercell, the increase of price is because of “inflation”however, if that was true then why would you also lower the actual value of the pass while still making it cost more? And it gets even worse, as their excuse for this is the inclusion of the seasonal shop giving rewards, which in itself is also an issue. This is because the event system has been replaced with the god awful season shop system. Now, instead of using skill to win an event and get a limited addition emote, you can play an event to get a (limited) amount of season tokens each day. And you know what’s great? Even if you play every day and reach the limit for tokens each day , you won’t have enough tokens to buy the most expensive item in the shop! Isn’t that wonderful?! Wait! It gets even better! In order to get more tokens each day, you have to spend your hard earned gems to raise the cap for ONE DAY! That’s right, you don’t even get to raise the cap for the entirety of the time the current season shop is available. If you want the maximum amount of tokens, be prepared to spend hundreds upon hundreds of gems for around 30 days. So, with this in mind, the season shop isn’t some kind of benefit for the pass increasing in price and decreasing in value, it’s yet another system implemented to take your money. And, to top it off, this season shop can give you an archer queen. One of the best cards in high levels of play. And if you play (pay) enough, you can get it at arena 1, therefore, low ladder is going to be plagued with over leveled, overpowered archer queens much like how mid ladder iso lagged with over leveled mega knights and e barbs. So now, alongside all the players who left clash Royale after being fed up by this update, all of the new players are going to rage quit after being fed up by constant archer queens that they can’t beat. Finally, last but not least, level 15. Now, I can’t speak too much on this, as I’m a rather low level player as of now, but nobody wanted this. Especially after slash Royale and level 14, I think everyone has ptsd from new levels being added. Plus, like the other things I have mentioned, it seemed to have been implemented only for money, as some people will probably buy gems or the god awful shop offers (which are a whole other discussion in itself. 2 epic books for 20.99? Really?) to get to level 15 faster. Please, supercell, I want you to do better. We as a community want you to do better. The game is genuinely a lot of fun, especially for a mobile game, but these awful updates are ruining it for everyone, and all you are doing is making everyone (including me) want to quit for good.

This game is genuinely not a 1 star, but more like a 4-5 star, I just can’t stand behind supercell as they become greedier and greedier. So, until further changes are made for the better, this review will stay 1 star.

Clash Royale The funeral is approaching, and I'm not attending

This game had so much potential, and each day I see it lose more and more. This game's prime was a while back from now and I'm disappointed to see this game die. But I do have hope.
_________________________________
I like skill cards. When I say skill cards, I mean cards that require proper placement, timing, and use. Examples include cards like hunter, ice spirit, miner, and magic archer. Proper usage of these cards can determine a win or a loss in a game.

I don't want to sound like every typical player above 3500 trophies, but I am sitting at 4035 trophies each month. Why? Because of bad matchmaking, ridiculously overpowered cards, and overleveling, it's impossible to push. I've got a good story for you Supercell. I'm a level eleven player with 4000+ trophies. I don't have a max common, a level 10 rare, a level 6 epic, or a level 3 legendary. I got matched up with a level ten. I thought, due to overleveling being quite present, it would be a pretty fair match...
I was three-crowned by a level ten usimg max elite barbs, valkyrie, goblin gang, and near max fireball, along with a level 7 rage in their deck.
I dare you to argue that this is fair. I shouldn't be at a disadvantage for not overleveling my cards as a younger player. I don't understand how matchmaking does not integrate card levels and player level into matching. Furthermore, I don't understand how a level ten should be able to have access to those cards. There should at least be a level limit, like you can only have a max common at level 11, a max epic at level 12, and a max legendary at level 13.

The next thing I'll talk about is balancing. Which, at the moment, there is a lot to say about. Many players have reached success simply because they have what I call "bridge decks". So many games I have played where my opponent drops max elite barbs and rages them. With one elite barb having a tad more health than a lumberjack, the speed of a lumberjack, and the same damage as a hog rider, it is virtually impossible to prevent this from getting a hit. With TWO elite barbs quickly destroying my knight, mini pekka, or even battle ram placed as a desperate attempt for a stall, these unbalanced troops head straight to my princess tower and take it out within five seconds.
Royal giant has a similar problem: its insane range paired with its unreasonable health. It's practically IMPOSSIBLE to prevent this troop from taking a hit on your tower.
_________________
I have many suggestions for you, supercell. Many of them are quite simple, but they might take the community by surprise. In the end, it will improve the game.

-have card leveling restrictions for king tower level. This will help with mass overleveling.
-decrease elite barbarian health, and move their speed down one tier. This will vastly reduce the widespread use of elite barb rage
-decrease royal giant health and range. This will keep royal giant 100% defendable, as any card should be.
-integrate card levels and tower level into matchmaking. This will ensure people aren't matched against ridiculous card levels like so many good players are right now.

I have hope for this game. I really do. Back in the good old days I gave this game a 5-star review. This one-star can only improve if changes are made. If you have read all this, thank you, and please consider my opinions.

Clash Royale You tried to fix the matchmaking system and created another problem

I do not usually send complaints about games that I am dissatisfied with, but I feel Clash Royale’s incentives system has crossed a line. I have devotedly played this game for nearly five years, and seeing these new changes and metas undo all of my time and effort spent is extremely frustrating. As a free-to-play player, this journey has become increasingly difficult for me, as I have to go up against people who simply pour money into the game to progress faster. I have tolerated this for a very, very long time, as this is present in nearly all games that include in-game purchases, but I used to respect Clash Royale and Supercell as a whole for not being entirely pay-to-win. Unfortunately, that is what this game is at this point. The fact that players are actively being encouraged to copy decks from other players and even videos now serves to prove my point. These players constantly whale hundreds of dollars into the game, following the metas created and exploited by Clash Royale content creators and instantly maxing out their decks, which they have copied. This is still somewhat tolerable. However, what makes my experience so frustrating is that, as a free-to-play player, I stick to one deck that is maxed out from the gold and experience I earned through my five years of playing Clash Royale. With this one deck, I must duel with players that rise and fall with metas. I remember that in a TV Royale episode not too long ago, the hosts explained how increasing the trophies required to be in Legendary Arena would balance out the ladder and allow players that were equally matched to duel one another rather than having higher levels instantly win against lower levels trying to climb. This fix has spawned a new problem in that everyone has the same copy-pasted decks and the matchmaking algorithm does not recognize that players have to duel against the same printer-copy players over and over and over again. I am not sure if this is a bug or if it is purposefully added, but if it is an intentional feature of the algorithm to sense when a player is climbing and have them face others with decks that it knows they are weak against based on stored data, the creators of this feature should be ashamed of ruining the purpose of this game. Having to play against the same decks over and over again with no variety is extremely boring and it saps the fun out of the game. I do not care if I win or lose, I only care that there should be a balance in different types of decks that the match-making algorithm decides to put me up against. Giving me the same scenarios with pay-to-win players does nothing to make the game remotely fun or interesting. As I have said before, I have tolerated meta decks for nearly five years. Before, there was still a variety of decks in the algorithm and I was interested in the originality of decks. To fix this, I suggest that the match-making algorithm be modified to include a balance of meta and non-meta decks. I also advise the cease of encouraging the copying of decks (i.e. remove the “copy deck” feature) to make players try and create decks on their own. As of right now, the process of having to go through the same people over and over is highly unfair to players trying to climb and to players affected by the moving of Legendary Arena to 5000 trophies trying to get to where they were. Until this problem is fixed, I will be rating Clash Royale one star on the App Store, and I encourage anyone else reading this that feels the same to do so as well.

Clash Royale Rigged, just like clash of clans

Second review: this newest balance change was completely unnecessary, and basically told everyone to go f themselves. Here is why. Spear goblins can no longer damage towers in the upper leagues unless they are max level or greater because of a mirror. They also cannot damage infantry when in the presence of a ranged unit, and therefore, they cannot damage any ranged unit, or anything protected by one including giants, skeletons, and well everything else. This renders spear goblins, goblin gang, and spear goblin hut obsolete. Since the argument for changing the spear goblins was to kill skeletons, maybe supercell should consider play testing their hair-brained ideas before going public. A quick side note, spear goblins were already able to kill off a skeleton army when placed correctly. The wizard and Valkyrie were already overpowered. I could understand giving these cards a few more hit points, as the wizard was susceptible to an untimely death by a knight or mini peka. However, they are now as damaging as the mini peka and lumberjack. Why would anyone use these two cards anymore? Thus two more cards were rendered useless. The royal ghost was just fine. Now anyone using royal ghost will have to switch back to the miner because of the royal ghosts new susceptibility to damage. Battle ram was just fine as well. It was always able to be stopped by numerous cards. If supercell really wanted to fix battle ram, they could have given the shield a few more hit points instead of nerffing it. Mega knight has also been nerffed. The initial fall damage has been increased while the area damage decreased. Considering that the fall damage is hardly ever used, except to kill a princess for which the lower damage is sufficient, the actual damage the mega knight will be able to do is greatly decreased. This time around, the only logical changes were those to the ice golem and barbarians. Please note that the only card that I actually use out of the new update is the spear goblin hut. In fact, the mega knight, royal ghost, and battle ram are my three biggest problems to face when playing clash royal, and I still think that the way these three cards have been trashed is unnecessary.

First review: I have been playing this game for a while now and have not spent any money on it. Therefore the game stacks the odds heavily against me, and anyone else who does not pay to play. For example, the game will direct all enemy troops directly to the princess towers, delay my drops, kill my troops more quickly than they should be killed while also prolonging the life of my opponents troops, and places me against impossible opponents. The game is also rigged with its' "chest" system. Those who pay money for the game not only get what they pay for, but also have a higher chance of acquiring better cards in the future. Examples of this include the night witch and graveyard spell. These are the two best cards in the game and seldom won by anyone who has not spent money on the game. The chest system is also rigged because the game analyses your most used cards and will hardly ever award them to you. I have read other reviews saying that reviews like this one are written by whinny cry-babys. While they do have a point, let me discredit these reviews by first mentioning that these reviews state in their first few lines, the writer has spent money on the game. Additionally, I would like to boost my own credibility. My strategy allowed me to acquire 3974 trophies, one win away from bronze league. The game then, by rigging the matches, dropped me down to 3270 trophies, almost out of hog mountain. This was not a one time ordeal, the game repeats this process whenever I reach legendary arena. As a side note, I would like to add that I have only once or twice lost in a "tournament standard rule set" game. These losses were all against experienced players with unique strategies like my own. This is significant because the tournament rule games are not as rigged as normal ones since there is less wiggle room for the game creators to stack one side without making it obvious. On a lighter note, this game is very fun, well developed, and overall one of the best phone/tablet apps I have found. I would give Clash Royale a five star review if these issues were to fixed and the game made fair.

Clash Royale THE Worst Game I’ve Ever Played

This sad excuse for a Supercell game is one of the most fun games when starting off. As you play, you slowly get addicted and keep playing while flying through the arenas. Arena 1-13 is the most fun part of this game. After that, this game becomes one of the most toxic, worthless, and time consuming parts of your life. To anyone that has problems with blood-pressure, do not download this game, it will kill you. The people you play against somehow always have the perfect card to counter yours, and almost always have a fully maxed out deck. The second you get into the leagues after finishing the arenas, you instantly play against people who have spent their families life savings on the game, buying these pay-to-win packs. Every game you play, you can find either an Electro Giant, Mega Knight, Sparky, Balloon, or any other broken and over-powered legendary card that would take months of non-stop playing to get. After all this, it annoys you even more to imagine what the little rat behind the screen looks like. I usually wonder how long it’s been since they’ve used their showers, but then I always remember that they can’t afford to pay the water bill because of all the money they spend on opening packs and buying gems. If you’re looking for a game to play, where the community smells like the bottom part of a freeway, and hasn’t touched grass or seen sunlight in years, then this game is perfect for you. The other half of the players are always either Asian or Arabic, meaning that this game will match you with anyone on the planet, because of the low population of the game at the time. This ALSO means that the very few who are left playing are the ones who can’t last an hour without playing this game. The best part is that while playing those Asians, you have to work with getting elixir at a slower rate while the opponent is ALWAYS full on elixir. As the game is over, you look at the screen in anger, and notice how your side of the field is demolished and the other side is untouched. Finally, the Level 13, little 80-pound pale ginger stick figure behind the screen spams his king laughing emote, and you just sit there knowing that someone who looks like a praying mantis just disrespected you after obliterating you at a game of Clash Royale. This is just a general description of the basic game. Then there’s the limited-time modes. These modes usually offer some rewards, but require you to win a couple games. At first, this doesn’t look like a problem at all. If the mode is a 2v2 mode, unless you play with a friend, your teammate will always decide to either take a nap halfway through, or play the game using his feet, while the other team sits hunchback, criss-cross-Apple sauce, with full elixir, a pen and pencil, and a calculator to make sure they completely steam-roll your towers at maximum efficiency. If the game mode is one of the ones that increases the rate at which you generate elixir, then get ready. The opponent has spent countless days sitting in a cave and trying to figure out which combo of abnormally over-powered cards is the perfect one to spam onto the field, making it impossible to win. Even if you do win any of these modes, you will realize that it was all a waste, as the chest you’ve been working towards gives you a couple cards for the rascals, and maybe one or two for a goblin cage. Finally, there are the clans. These clans are filled with the most recent species of creatures that scientists have yet to discover. These things force you to participate daily, and make the game become something as important to you as eating food or drinking water. If you don’t meet their requirements, guess what, you’re kicked. Doesn’t matter if you had to get surgery that day for a life threatening problem, or if you just forgot to play, but either way, you aren’t allowed to explain, and you are kicked. When this game came out, I was excited to find a new Supercell product, and hopefully one that matched the greatness of Clash of Clans, but I was so wrong. This game is the worst thing that has ever crawled out of the App Store, and anyone who thinks this game is remotely close to Clash of Clans in terms of being a good game, is a victim of an undiscovered disease. Either take this game off the App Store, or add a game chat system so that I may kindly exchange some words to my opponent.

Clash Royale 4 years and 4 months

Overall, Clash Royale has seemed fine. A competitive real time card game that I could carry around in my pocket and share with friends. However, the more years I play this game, the more Clash Royale slowly reveals itself. It is an elitist mask disguising addiction paired with a black hole for money, time, and energy. The current state of the game is declining rapidly in both player count and relations with the dev team. I believe my credibility as a reviewer comes from my experience playing at every level short of CRL, my involvement in the community, and my status as a free to play player. By abandoning this game I do not leave behind any money to complain about.

First, I would like to begin with the experience that low level players (

Your latest update around Dec 14th 2023 was pretty terrible. The worst part is where the unselected cards for the decks and put them on a whole different section. I feel like many people might loose interest in this game after this. It makes the process way more difficult.

About Clash Royale

Screenshot Clash Royale
Clash Royale is a popular mobile game developed by Supercell. It is a real-time multiplayer game that combines elements of strategy, card games, and tower defense. The game is set in a medieval fantasy world where players collect and upgrade cards featuring Clash of Clans troops, spells, and defenses. Players use these cards to battle against other players in real-time battles.

The objective of the game is to destroy the opponent's towers while defending one's own. Each player starts with three towers: two smaller ones on the sides and a larger one in the center. The game is won by destroying the opponent's central tower or by having more towers standing when the time runs out.

Players can collect new cards by opening chests, which are earned by winning battles or by purchasing them with real money. Cards can be upgraded by collecting duplicates or by using gold, which is earned by winning battles or by donating cards to clanmates. Each card has its own unique abilities and strengths, and players must strategically choose which cards to use in battle.

Clash Royale also features a clan system, where players can join or create clans with other players. Clans can participate in clan wars, where they battle against other clans to earn rewards and climb the clan leaderboard.

Overall, Clash Royale is a fun and addictive game that requires strategy, skill, and a bit of luck. With its engaging gameplay, unique card collection system, and competitive multiplayer battles, it's no wonder why it has become one of the most popular mobile games of all time.
