I had a Direct Express Card that I received my monthly Social Security Benefits on. Comerica Bank manages these cards. I recently lost my card and called them for a replacement. I was told that a "flag" had been put on my account but the agent did not know why it was flagged. I called for two (2) days appx. 10 to 15 times each day and got a message saying they were experiencing heavy call volume and call back and then disconnected. When I would finally get in line I would hold 15 to 20 minutes and then be disconnected. I eventually spoke to another agent that told me to got to a Social Security office (20) miles away and ask them to file a MOU process. The agent did not know what it was but that was what I had to do. Social Security said they had never heard of this MOU and there was nothing they could do. After another 4 or 5 hours I got another agent on the phone and he said the same thing and then hung up. I called Social Security and they said come back in and they would call Direct Express and get it taken care of. They did get results but why did it take (2) days, hours on the phone and (80) miles of driving to do something so simple. I have dropped this card and having direct deposit to a local bank
MOU to unblock my direct express card
Comerica bank and direct express employees in the dispute department are so rude and un help full. They stole over $1000.00 dollars from my SSI Check and never gave me my money back. I can't take them to court cause I have no money I'm still trying to recover from them taking my whole check
I am having the same problem. Been 11 days. Went to local SSD office and filled out all pape work. They tried to get ahold of direct express and they are on hold 45 minutes and hung up on. They trying to help but can't get anyone to answer in a timely manner. On day 2 with SSD trying and day 11 with direct express. They locked my account cause can't remember phone number on file. I have not had those number in over 2 years. I called in our new phone . I get a an email to my new number every month about my deposit being made but they say they don't have my new number and can't take my new number they need to call number on file but they ate no good and keep telling them that. Been with them 14 years but I will never deal with them again. 11 days is far too long. Husband bedridden so he can't go in and had surgery last week and can't get his medication. I was told the best thing to do it not deal with directecpress. 14 years and it's their fault if customer service put wrong number. Never can talk anyone that know what the hell they doing. No customer service at all. Need to get governments quit using this company for the senior and disabled Is sad Vetrans also treated badly

I am starting to think that our government needs to be held responsible for this b******* they know what these people are doing to people on social security so why the hell are they allowing it I'm holding them accountable and I swear I'm going to try and find a lawyers to my government over this this is the third time they've allowed direct Express to do this to me and this time I might die outside over it and I'm really pissed I just don't understand why they are being allowed to go against the federal laws it's just ridiculous I did everything that they told me to they're just horrid people they're just horrid people I've been trying for 2 months to recover over $700 that's over you know that's what make my rent money I had to borrow money from my child and I still owe it to her and I can't sleep at night because I have cancer and I'm really pissed and I'm sick of this crap and I don't like our government right now because of it they need to protect me better I mean I pay taxes my whole life come on really this is what I get
