i paid $1000.00 for a what I was told a heathy puppy. after seeing the dog scratching a lot I checked and found the puppy had fleas, after removing the fleas i noticed the puppy still scratching his left ear so I checked again and no fleas but found the inside of his ear very dirty so I took him to the vet. the vet did a routine check up and found overall health to be good but had a very bad ear infection in his left ear and the start of one in his right. after the stool sample and check the vet found the puppy has 3 types of worms in its stool. Hookworm, Coccidiosis, and Giardia. after contacing Rodney the owner of the company and asking for some compensation to help pay for the treatments he said basically that it was normal for the puppy to have all these problems and it was a normal office visit that was performed except that the charges were double of what he would have paid. So now I have to give the puppy his meds for 10 days then make another vet appointment to have another sample of the stool and weight adjustment to give the proper ammount of meds and see if the others have cleared up. I understand that owning a pet is a very big expense and I am willing to do what I have to to keep this puppy heathy and happy I just am upset that when a breeder tells you that you are buying a heathy puppy and you pay for a heathy puppy you should get what you pay for as in any other product you purchase.

Hello Ken Graham
As far as I am concerned the day we sold you the baby white Pom he was in good health. We did not see any signs of being sick. He had good stools that morning and in the ride to meet you, as well as had ear mite and de-wormer medication that week. As far as fleas, he had a bath in the morning in preparation for delivery. It is unlikely that a flea survived the flea medicated shampoo. Fleas are present in all type of grass but unlikely being that it is winter time. As far as a Ear infection, He might have gotten that from multiple baths he showed no signs of rubbing his head or scratching vigorously.

Parasites are usually transmitted when an animal inadvertently ingests parasite eggs or spores in contaminated soil, water, feces or food.

Giardia

Two more problematic aspects of doggy Giardia are that: (1) the incubation period can be 5 to 12 days, so it’s really tough for you to peg the time or place of the infection (Frantic folks may “assume” to know, but you really don’t); and (2), Giardia shed organisms intermittently, making it difficult to detect.

Giardia is contagious to other dogs and puppies, I show no signs here at home of any other pups being ill or signs of diarrhea in there poo.

Giardiasis is a diarrheal disease caused by the microscopic parasite Giardia. A parasite is an organism that feeds off of another to survive. Once a animal (for example, cats, dogs, cattle, deer, and beavers) has been infected with Giardia, the parasite lives in the intestines and is passed in feces (poop). Once outside the body, Giardia can sometimes survive for weeks or months. Giardia can be found within every region of the U.S. and around the world.

Hook worms

Puppies should be treated for hookworms at 2, 4, 6, and 8 weeks of age with a deworming medication you can get from your veterinarian, Tractor supple or walmart. This frequent treatment schedule is recommended due to the very high rate of hookworm infection in newborn puppies. Most monthly heartworm preventatives include a drug to prevent to treat and prevent infections so additional deworming medications are usually not required if the dog is reliably treated with a heartworm preventive. Fecal examinations should be conducted 2 to 4 times during the first year of life and 1 to 2 times per year in adults. Nursing mothers should be treated along with their puppies.

Coccidia

This disease is most dangerous to young puppies whose immune systems are weakened either by another type of illness, or stress. This is why Coccidiosis is often seen in pups who have recently left their momma and siblings and come into a new home.

The stress of all the changes in their lives, perhaps combined with the exposure to other bacteria, parasites or infections, temporarily reduces the effectiveness of their immune systems and allows the Oocysts (microscopic, immature Coccidia organisms) to flourish and cause a puppy to get sick.

Coccidia are tiny single-celled parasites that live in the wall of your dog’s intestine. They are found more often in puppies, but they can also infect older dogs and cats.
Dogs become infected by swallowing soil that contains coccidia or other substances in the environment that may contain dog feces. Coccidiosis, the disease caused by coccidia, may not cause any signs in dogs but is usually more serious in puppies. The most common sign of coccidiosis is diarrhea. More severe infections can cause bloody diarrhea.
With all that being said, we have learned through the years that there are good and bad veterinarians. Some are out to help the dogs and there owners for the love of animals and some are out just for the almighty dollar. We breed our dogs with the love for our puppies. We always find our babies good homes and would never intentionally sell a ill puppy to a loving family.
A veterinarian should have asked you if I sell puppies. The veterinarian knows the gestation period for parvo is 21 days. A breeder cannot breed puppies if the kennel has ever had parvo. Parvo is just that contagious. Honestly he knew that but just wanted to test for it. As I have made my point...
Parasites are a common problem in puppies with a gestation period of less then five days we cannot be responsible for were or what the puppy has ingested.
You have raised children as much as myself and know that earaches come on go very quickly. I'm glade that he got the medications he needed. Please remember only one bath per month. Pomeranians are very clean. I don't ever give mine a bath, esp in the winter except for the sale of one of my babies.
Honestly Ken, other then your vets prices being double of what they are down south, every veterinarian gives a fecal examination. Every veterinarian has a office visit. Most also do a ear cytology. I just treated for ear mites, but if the pup had some swelling due to the ear infection he might have treated for mites also. Ken this is a normal vet bill with the exception of a parvo test that should not have been done unless the puppy was lethargic. But I am not a veterinarian.
As far as your medication bill, I had explained to you that with all the traveling and the stress of being without its momma that the puppy might need some albon and that your veterinarian would be able to help you with that. Regardless of whether the pup has worms or not most good vets will prescribe panacur as a preventive medication anyway to ensure against the development of parasites in your puppy.
Ken, Please understand my position that this is a very normal veterinarian bill, with the exception of the parvo test and the ear infection.
I hope I have answered any questions that you have.
Please txt me and send pictures, He is one of my all time favorite pups.
Have a Blessed day
Rodney

Mr. Graham was a very nice customer, He bought a Pomeranian puppy from us a few days before Christmas. He explained to me that he lives in CT and would be traveling with the puppy from N.C. After the New Years I explained to him that our contract states that he should have the puppy Vet checked within 3 business days to ensure that we sold him a healthy puppy. It only takes 5 days for worms to develop in a puppy and some bacterium develops quicker. Country Hill pups can not be responsible for a puppy that was not taken to the vet within the allotted time. Mr. Graham stated that he did give baths, and that would be a leading cause for earaches. We sold Mr Graham and his family a healthy puppy at the time of this sale..We are a good Christian family. We have a great reputation of 8 years of breeding with no complaints on our pups. Please check our website guestbook for our reputation.

To all the readers of this listing PLEASE do not be discouraged from looking into buying a forever fur baby from www.countryhillpups.com We at Country Hill always will do our best to help with finding your perfect baby. Even if you have had a bad experience with another breeder. Please call us with your questions. I might be able to help with your situation.
Have a Blessed day

Mr. Graham
In response to your complaint, I also purchased a Pomeranian from Country Hill Pups. It has been 3 years since Snickers became part of our family. He has been the picture of health from the day we picked him up. Rodney explained to us that pomeranians are prone to having collapsing trachea and Luxating Patella ( both of which were verified by our vet ). I have owned many dogs, but never one this small. I had to learn how to care for my little fur baby. Any questions I had, day or night, I knew I could call Rodney. He had nothing to gain by taking my calls except knowing that Snickers was well cared for. I send pictures to Rodney from time to time so he can see what a beautiful boy Snickers has become. About a year and a half ago we rescued a female Pomeranian. We decided to wait for her second heat to let our family grow even more. Once again we contacted Rodney with questions about her pregnancy. This was our first fur baby pregnancy and there were MANY questions. When the time came for our new arrivals, Rodney was there for us. He didn't mind the midnight call at all. He talked us through the entire delivery. Again he had nothing to gain. His concern was for Dixie and her babies. To everyone reading this, if you are looking for a fur baby for your family, I highly recommend Country Hill Pups. I have met Rodney face to face one time, but I feel like he is part of my family.

The previous comment from Shona Allgood is a TOTAL LIE! She is Rodney’s girlfriend and lives with him. There would be no reason for her to purchase a puppy from him. Rodney purchased a puppy from me and refused to make full payment. We appeared on Judge Judy and a judgement was rendered in my favor. I have also been informed that the Mecklenburg Bureau Of Animal Control has issued him citations on his dogs and the cleanliness of his home. I purchased a puppy from him not knowing his true side. I don’t recommend him to ANYONE!

In response to this crazy comment, . I would never comment on something being so petty but lets let the truth be known.
I will and always will protect the integrity of Shona Allgood, a life long friend of 33 years.
Linda Moore does not and never will know anything about my private life.
Shona Allgood has bought a puppy from me and as a matter of fact Shona has bought three puppies from me ( including the puppy Emily that we went on the Judge Judy show for.)
Linda Moore was suing me for the return of Emily a Pomeranian dog. I owed her the last payment of $300. Judge Judy awarded Emily to remain in my custody and for me to pay the balance of $300. to Miss. Moore. Animal control was called to do a welfare check on my dogs. With a result of having a few dirty water bowls and pens that needed to be fixed there was no citations issued on inside or outside my home. Further more all our paperwork was in order.
As far as Shona and I are concerned Judge Judy rendered her verdict in our favor. Shona is in possession of her very much loved cancer therapy dog Emily. ...Thank you Judge Judy

Great Review Emailed to us...Thank you

Hey Country Hill Pups!

We got Beau around June 25th 2017 and just wanted to give you a little update. He will be 1 on March 15th and he’s a Bichon Frise x yorkie mix. We could not have asked for a better puppy! He’s well behaved, house trained very easy, doesn’t bark much, he loves fruit, and soo handsome and the best boy. Belly rubs are his favorite but getting petted anywhere is good with him. He was neutered on December 19th as well as microchipped. We know it was hard for y’all to let him go but he’s in a loving home that spoils him. We’re very thankful for you guys and getting one of the best, well behaved, sweetest dogs. We wanted to keep your guys updated on his growth and how he grew up to look so we wanted to send some pictures. 🙂

Jessica and Scott

Unfortunately, I'm sad to report that "Country Hill Pups" is nothing more than a horrible PUPPY MILL that turns out unhealthy puppies with genetic disorders. This is Rodney's livilyhood, he makes a living off of dogs and puppies backs, overbreeding the females that are kept in deplorable conditions. Please DO NOT BUY HERE and support this puppy mill!

I just have to comment here because 2 years ago, in August of 2017, I brought home 2 of the most wonderful little pups I could have hoped for from Rodney/Country Hill Pups. Boomer is a Pomeranian/Yorkie and Axel is a Pomeranian/Cairn terrier. They are both happy, healthy and a joy to me and my family. We had lost my dachshund mix to cancer a few months before we found Rodney that left a huge sadness in our family. We couldn't be more grateful...
