Craftsy is a malevolent predatory business!
They doubled my annual membership cost without notice. They no longer give any refunds. They do not send receipts for renewals, so you would never know you were charged unless you notice it on your bank statement (which is how I found out). They hide administrative and billing emails between the "up to 4 marketing emails" they send each and every day. They hide administrative and billing information inside marketing content in those emails (illegal to have more than a certain % of an admin email pertain to marketing).
I originally signed up a year ago for a $2.97 membership discounted from $89. The agreement I signed said there were refunds, the rate of membership at $89, and that I could easily get out of the membership with a refund if I wanted. Customer #: 5068318
Fast forward a year and all of that was untrue.
They just charged me $181 and will not give a refund. I would have never known either as they don't send a receipt. They did a year ago, but NOW it seems they have scamming people on their minds. They just leave a copy of the payment on their website if you go to look for it in the account section.
When I called, they offered me $200 in classes that should have been included in the cost of membership anyway. I turned them down on that offer. I think they will use that against anyone who tries to enter a class action lawsuit against them. I also NEVER used the site in the first place!
It seems July 2023 they changed their business practices and sent an email on July 19 to to tell everyone that they no longer give refunds. They sent that notice on a day when they sent out 3 marketing emails on the 18th and 3 on the 20th to obscure the email we needed to review that said they will no longer be issuing refunds.
They told me they sent another email explaining the new practice, but I never got that one. It was supposedly sent on the 7th (oddly the one day I got no emails from them at all).
The actual "renewal email they send out is below. Notice the WHOLE FIRST PART OF THE EMAIL does NOT talk about anything but more marketing jargon in a very shady bold/not bold ALL-CAPS font usage. You have to read all the way through all the marketing to get into the "renewal" part of the email.
Their new "renewal is coming' email does not look like any real one. Again, it came with 3 marketing emails the day before and 2 on the same day and 3 on the day after. The whole top half just sounds like a sus marketing email. Note the ALL CAPS words are as they were in the email but in the email they were also BOLDED font. Trying to keep your eye on those words and not the bottom part of the email

Renewal Terms. As a member, unless you cancel by 09/12/2023, the card you provided when you enrolled will be charged our current renewal rate of $166.00 plus applicable sales tax of $15.77 for your next year of membership. If your credit card information has changed, the fastest and easiest way to update your information is to log into your account and select the ‘payment method' icon and give us your updated information. If you cancel after you are charged, there is no refund available, but you may continue to enjoy your membership benefits until the end of that paid term. If you don’t wish to renew your membership, please contact our Member Services team at [protected] or you can click on the membership details icon in your account.

Desired outcome: Refund
I purchased classes before all the changes with Blueprint and since Craftsy took over. I have to maintain my membership, which is not expensive to keep my classes. This is very poor business model. I would like to stop paying the exhorbitant membership dues but I do not want to lose my classes I PAID for.
