Very complicated not intuitive
Long time Blockfolio user I decided to give this app a try. So far it’s not too user friendly. I like the widgets, being able to check prices of coins and the calculator function but the portfolios seems to not function the way I like. For example I’m trying to keep track of my trades. Whenever I input a trade for BTC. It’ll show the results in negative numbers instead of profit. It feels backwards. Maybe I’m doing it wrong but I feel that it should be a lot easier. This would be great for someone who doesn’t trade to often and just hodls. I’m regretting this purchase going to stick with blockfolio.
Update 12/6-
Well, the more I’ve been using this app the better my experience has been. I do admit there is a learning curve to this, at least for me, your experience may be different. I reached out to the developer about my issues and he responded quickly and assures that future updates are in the works would that would suit my needs for this app. I am updating my review from 2 stars to 4 for the great customer service!
Expected more
When you pay $5 for an app, you have really high expectations. This app only works perfectly if you never exchange crypto. There is no way to calculate exact amounts because of the moving market, and you can only enter in BTC for payment options. So when I exchange a iota for Cardano, i have to figure out the estimated BTC cost of each coin to make it somewhat accurate. I do love the concept of the app, but it’s frustrating looking at my stats knowing they aren’t perfect. And when I exchange one crypto for another, it adds more to my overall initial investment, even though I was using profit made to purchase the new crypto. Here are my requests to make this a 5 Star app.
1) It needs to have exchanges used with accurate prices for each coin.
2) more options in the payment section other than BTC and usd
3) more graph charts. Like a pie chart showing percentage investment in each coin in portfolio and other visuals.
Update
4) Also I would love to see live updates. When I refresh the app, nothing happens. It updates like every 5 minutes or something.
Could be great
At this point, I continue to use the app as a necessary evil. The layout is better than most, easy to see whats happening and add trades. API functionality would be great in the free version but it's not something I have expectations for.
Things I think are missing:
- being able to see your portfolios growth over time, including realized gains/losses.
- an easy way to see to go from the page where you view your holding of a coin to that coin's homepage, or really just to be able to see the coin's general chart when your looking at your holdings.
- syncing with desktop. I know this technically exists but does it really exist if it doesn't work?
- customer service. I asked for clarification on syncing a month ago with no response.
- a more consistent coin directory. some coins don't show up on the mobile app but do on the desktop app? why? I have to track some of my holdings on a completely separate app, and they aren't even like super obscure coins.
I'd normally give it a 3, and when I'm less annoyed, maybe a 4, but the ticker is currently refusing to update (for the past several hours).
It's okay, but buggy and needs major UX work
This app has a ton of features, but the user experience is really lacking. When you click on your Portfolio view, and then click on a specific cryptocurrency, it doesn't actually show your transactions -- you have to click on Cryptos, which doesn't honor your selection in the previous Portfolios tab, so now you have to go hunt down that currency again. The app also doesn't handle multiple portfolios well. If you go to a specific currency and click the "..." button and then click "Add Trade" it just assumes you want to add it to the first portfolio, and it doesn't ask you or tell you which portfolio it's adding to. You spend all this time entering in the data, and there's no way to move it to the correct portfolio. And now I have no idea how to view my prior transactions. Overall, it's just really frustrating to use. I also have had some major performance problems when changing certain screens. It's not possible to quit the app, I had to go into terminal and run a kill command. Separately, the app is really disruptive. I was prompted to add a review with a pop-up message repeatedly over the course of several minutes.
I use this app ALL DAY EVERYDAY
Sure you can find another altcoin app in the App Store. You may even find one with more features or even prettier graphs that show you more colors like a peacock.
At some point after you tried them all and you are not bled dry by some ludicrous price tag like a $99 app, you may start to filter your inventory.
I began to filter my inventory to the most used in one app container, most useless in another container and most expensive in another container. Since it would be stupid to remove the most expensive apps since I already paid for them and they sit there while I wait for them to mature, I focused on the most useless.
Most useless means borrowed tech, borrowed code, which comes from devs looking to make the $1 by copying the existing. I found so many alt coin apps to be a generic waste of space.
After cutting and saving apps. I fell upon this app as my daily go-to standard.
There may be something better. I have not found it, nor do I feel like spending money to find it. This app solves my problems and meets my needs.
Lastly, I do not know the developers and have no involvement with them. I simply recognize good software and I feel like telling you this app is my choice.
Am I recognized as some app review guru? Maybe I should be...

Great app, I have one main problem tho
So I recently subscribed to the monthly premium plan for greater flexibility to customize the app experience. And for the most part I’ve loved most things about the Crypto Pro experience, except for one caveat which is actually a rather large issue given how I use the app. When I make custom alerts the app will limit me to only 9 or so of them and will auto-delete any more that I’ve made above that once I’ve exited the app. I make so many alerts because I want to know when a crypto is above & below certain thresholds on certain exchanges so I can buy and sell at the appropriate times. This as well as the portfolio import feature are the main reasons I use Crypto Pro. Having all my portfolios listed in one location which auto-updates as I built and sell coins is wonderful. However having a consistently buggy alerts system (once I’ve made over a certain number of alerts) is frustrating. If there was a stated maximum number of alerts I wouldn’t be as flustered since I would know not to exceed that limit. However I was under the impression that I could make as many alerts as I wanted (within reason) and the fact that I haven’t been able to do so despite numerous updates is a bit annoying.
So besides that one issue I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the Crypto Pro experience (from having info on multiple exchanges at my fingertips, to being able to import a multitude of exchanges into one place, to having crypto news I can browse) and once that bug is resolved then I’ll be able to rate the app higher in good conscience.
Awesome Dev Responsiveness - Version 5.3.4 is Buggy but a fix is on the way!
I’ll leave the below just for reference sake. I had contacted the developer this weekend (holiday weekend no less) about a minor issue and received a response shortly thereafter. While chatting, I mentioned the below issues and he mentioned that he is aware of the issue, on call this weekend (despite is being Christmas weekend) to field complaints, and will be issuing a fix as soon as possible (Apple’s app approval division is off for the holiday).
I must say, I am wholly satisfied and impressed with the developer’s dedication to the app!
Original review below:
I just updated to version 5.3.4 on my iPad Pro, which I use exclusively in landscape mode. The main screen, on the right (takes up two thirds of the screen) only shows the default market, news stories, or settings. No longer can I tap into a currency from my portfolio or the currency list and see it in the big window. It only shows up on the smaller window. If I want to look at another currency, I need to tap “back” then tap another. Very cumbersome.
I wish I could revert back to two versions ago. The previous version, when you would tap a currency in your profile, it would take you to the list of trades. I want to see price performance, charts, volume when I drill down into the currencies I hold, not my personal trading activity. I was fine being required to navigate to the “second page” for trades. Perhaps put this all on one scrollable page:
Ticker
VolumeMarket Cap
Chart
Position Value
Trades
Something like that.
Also, get more currency image symbols and color schemes!
Portfolios erased for a second time…
CURRENT REVIEW (1/5)
Latest update broke everything. My portfolios were all erased… going to take forever to recreate all of them. The widgets are now blank. And the Apple watch complication is showing the wrong coins… Just realized this has happened before now that I see my previous review. Makes me lose confidence in the developers to prevent this from occurring a third time…
PREVIOUS REVIEW (3/5)
DO NOT UPDATE! Latest update erased my portfolio. Re-adding all of my transactions will take a long time. Also, there is now a weird glitch that has made 7 copies of Bitcoin at the top of the coin list all with different prices. The rest of the coins are listed as usual.
OLD REVIEW (5/5)
The dev is amazing! Really listens to feedback and constantly improves the functionality of the app. This is a must have for anyone who has a cryptocurrency portfolio. Dev Fixes & Requests: - [BUG] Favorites widget is minimized by default even though it says “Show Less” as though it was maximized. - [REQ] Save filter/ordering settings for portfolio (for example remember when the user sets their portfolio to show by Worth instead of defaulting to Market Cap every time. - [REQ] Add in logos for more coins and allow us to display by logo instead of name or symbol (Blockfolio has all logos but this app seems to be missing a lot despite being better than Blockfolio in almost every other way). - [REQ] Add a graph to check out portfolio gains and losses over time like in Blockfolio. Even better, make the graph like the CoinTracking app (cointracking.info) so that you can see your profits (coin worth - fiat spent).
iPad version is odd, watch app doesn’t match
This app is very good for iOS users because it allows me to sync all my devices with one universal program. That being said, I cannot figure how to "control" the right side of the screen on my iPad. When the app launches, there will always be a Bitcoin Price and analysis on the right side. Clicking Settings, for example, causes the right side to change (once you delve one layer deeper in). However there is no way afterwards to make the right side return to anything else. The Portfolio should be viewable there, or the master list of currencies. Most of the sceen "real estate" goes to waste. I am pleased overall, but I wanted an app I could leave open and keep an eye on my Portfolio in a visually efficient capacity.
The watch App will always show the price of Bitcoin no matter what - even if you delete Bitcoin on your primary device from Favorites, currencies, etc. Annoying.
Finally, I don’t know how to tell this App which exchanges to report on - I have somehow managed to have Ripple only track the exchange I prefer, (I think I accomplished this within my Portfolio and the change tracked through to the master list, I THINK, can’t recall at the moment) but I can not get the master lists to only show the exchanges I trade with. It’s wonderful that Litecoin is up over x% in 5 exchanges, but since I only use Gdax to trade Litecoin, the price is not representative of reality to me.
Overall, a solid, well rounded app that needs improvement (like many apps in this ecosystem). If it continues to be updated, I’ll likely update my review and give it a higher rating. Thanks for reading!
awesome, but has bugs. a few fixes and it'll be the best
i love this app for a lot of reasons, mainly that it exports to .csv and imports from that backup, and that it is (soon) available on macOS, iOS and Android (hopefully PC and browser as well one day). I love the data entrance UI, the comments and the swap feature.
What I really don't like is that sometimes it does not show certain coins on different computers, and even on mine it seems I couldn't get UNI, AAVE, YFI or DOT to show up until I switched my VPN to another location, but then I went back and they worked, plus they all worked right off the bat on an M1 mac as opposed to the 2015 intel mac that I had that problem on, but a friend's newer intel mac didn't show a SINGLE COIN other than BTC, even when I imported a whole .csv file of many coins.
Another major issue is the app crashes on the M1 mac when I try to click on what seems to be a bad imported transaction, which had imported with missing data (the comment was truncated, as was the reference coin price). It didn't import my HBAR transactions at all, but did import the transactions for the coins I traded HBAR for (which should have made an HBAR account show up, but didn't)
On the M1 mac I also noticed the pie graph shows all the same color with no visible distinction between coins.
The issues I just named are on Crypto Pro v6.8.7 running on macOS 11.2.3
Summary: It's the best app I've found so far for making a portfolio that you can export with ease, and in theory punch right into a tax doc app like accointing or cointrade.tax and get the appropriate tax documents from there. Other software provides only one of the two options and Crypto Pro does both.
Powerhouse of a crypto utility with a couple of small bugs
I had this for my MacBook at first, but it wasn’t until I got the app for my iPad did I really start to enjoy it and appreciate it a lot more. For both the MacOS and iOS there are some bugs they have to work through, but it might be due to how much information this app is handling. I see A LOT of potential in this app currently and would definitely recommend it to everyone in its current state, but I don’t want to give it any higher of a rating until I see some more improvements. With that being said, I feel like this is more of a 4 star than a three star.
I am currently a subscriber to the app for right now on a monthly basis, but if things improve, I will for sure become a yearly subscriber and five star this bad boy.
Issues: Super small things such as the refresh rate of the app. Not a huge deal and I am taking into consideration that it just might be overwhelmed with the amount of data it is providing. Also, this isn’t an annoying issue that creates a lack of use. I really need to be clear about this because I don’t want to be misunderstood as saying this app isn’t usable or creates any frustration because it doesn’t.
The icon doesn’t change to the one you select in the options. Again, not a huge deal and extremely superficial. It’s embarrassing I’m even mentioning it.
This last one isn’t an issue, but I’m really hoping WBTC becomes one of the cryptos I can link my portfolio to as it is not offered at this time. As far as the cryptos you can track.. it’s over the top. I haven’t seen this many cryptos you can track in one app like I have here. I can’t say the same for how many you can link to your portfolio, but it does seem to be quite extensive (which is a great thing).
Not a Native Mac App?
I love CryptoPro. I have it on my iPhone 12 Pro Max and my iPad Pro. It really shines on the iPad Pro's screen size as you get to see so much info and data all at once. When I found out there was a Mac App I was extatic! Think of the amount of data you could get on to the large screen! Perhaps there would be better charting software? Perhaps you would be able to expand the chart full screen and add layers of analysis tools in full glorious big screen color? Maybe the news articles from the aggregate sites would open in Reader Mode?
Sadly none of this is true. What's worse is that it doesn't even look like an iPad close but an iPhone clone! The interface consists of three panes; the left pane are your tabs or categories (Portfolio, Settings, News, etc), the middle pane is the display from the selected tab or category (and CANNOT be enlarged, and the right pane is the main body of everything. The biggest flaw is this main pane as it cannot be enlarged to take advantage of the larger screen size! If I click on Cryptos from the main pane and then select Bitcoin from the middle pane, what is displayed in the main right pane is a tiny justified centered column of information exactly as if it was being displayed on an iPhone held vertically. I wish I could include a screen shot to give an example of how silly this looks. Of the 27" screen on my iMac, the Bitcoin information is approxamitly 4" wide surrounded by about 8" of empty white space on either side for no reason! What a waste.
The functionality of the app is useful and great to have all aggregated into one app. The form factor is seriously lacking and for that I can't give more than three stars as I'd rather just look at this info on my iPad.
Pro subscriber —poor experience & no support
So I really, really wanted to like this app. I never expected to have the issues that myself & others are having with it. The import system is terrible and never works right. I’ve tried many times just starting over and have also tried both API & manual imports. Sometimes a few coins from Coinbase/Pro will import okay but 2/3 of them never load including several being top 10 cryptos. The cryptos that do import, often end up displaying inaccurately after a few days and require another import to fix.
I’ve reached out for help the best I can but over months(!) I’ve never gotten a response through email and even tried Twitter(which is where I noticed how widespread these issues were). I honestly do have some hope that one day these problems will be fixed(NOT ANYMORE) because of how often the dev updates/tweaks the app... but the lack of support to paying subscribers is honestly what seals the deal for me. I really want to like this app and am willing to revisit in the future—but looks like the months of premium I prepaid for is completely worthless to me. I don’t even use it anymore because of the problems. I hope one day this app will work out the quirks but for the moment I have no use for it since the main functionality I bought it for doesn’t work. The developer has made a nice app and seems to be dedicated to improving it, so hopefully one day I can edit the review and resubscribe... but until then I felt the need to alert others to the import problem I’ve struggled with and warn if that’s what they’re buying it for. Fingers crossed for a fix
***Update: So 6months later and my subscription has run out. Thankfully I cancelled long ago. What a waste of money. 6months and still no fixes for the most basic features of the Pro subscription. This is similar to a scam in my mind. I paid 6mos because of the features and then after paying—come to find out they’re extremely buggy and don’t work. All a massive waste of time, effort, & money with no customer support reply for 6 MONTHS! Buy at your own risk. This app has gotten worse & worse and many others have called the dev a scammer.

Excellent app on ios, very buggy on Big Sur
The app is excellent, with pretty much everything you could every want. The issues come once you install it on a Mac running Big Sur. It frequently crashes, very glitchy, and appears blurry on my extenal monitor (through egpu). Very annoying and hard to look at.
Without the bugs, it would be an easy 5/5 stars.

Doesn’t seem to offer watch face options pictured
App is fine. I wanted the features shown in the picture for the Apple Watch; Different coins in small complications or even 3 or 4 as a list in the large. After hours of trying and even paying to upgrade thinking the feature may be behind the paywall, no luck. Saw no extra features for the watch after paying $35.

Useless if you plan to keep track of your funds
There is no way to save or enter data pertaining to you cryptos to track their progress.
This app is a beautiful, but doesn't provide the service that would make it useful to me.
Edit: looks like this feature will be added! Devs are super responsive and I'm looking forward to the update. Will change my review then.

Paid for app then devs stripped features and gave me free version
I paid to have the app when they first launched. After all that crypto hype, the devs stripped features and reserved it for “pro” users who will pay $8/month for a subscription. I hate the bait and switch they used to screw me over! Do yourself a favor and download a crypto app from another company that’s not dishonest.

Restricted to those who pay
Key features are locked behind year to year account. I think many people would agree I don’t want another annual account just to look at coin prices on my watch. Maybe make a lite app for people that just want to glance at coin prices that are up to date? For now I’ll just pull my phone out and check prices manually for free.

Where is Coinbase?!
I bought this app because it supports Coinbase exchange as it is explained in the app description. But Coinbase does not exist in the app. It is ridiculous. Why you write the description “we support coinbase” even you don’t have any feature about that!? I am certainly disappointed and will be demand my money back from apple!

Watch complication needs improvement
I bought this thinking on the complications for Apple Watch. Currently the price can only update as frequent as 20m. I guess this is to save battery. It would be desired to have the price updated on request once you open the widget for instance, or even better updated more frequently even if you warn users on battery consumption. Let that up to the users please.

Ads
When I pay $5 for what is basically a simple tracking and new aggregation app, I expect there to be no ads. Not only are there ads, but there is one Amazon ad that cannot be closed within the app... you have to click through the survey (4 questions) for every single coinbase article opened on the site. If anyone has a fix for this I am all ears, but until this is fixed (or ad free... it’s a $5 app!

No way to sync with Poloniex Exchange?
I am not really satisfied with this app. I thought it would be an app where I could sync my Poloniex Portfolio with the corresponding API keys, but that didn’t actually work. The app is confusing as well. I wish I could contact the developer as I love the clean interface, but the main purpose of this $5 purchase was to track my Poloniex Portfolio through some way of an API key so the portfolio values are more accurate...

This app still has problems on MacOS
I am running MacOS 10.15 on new hardware. This application increasingly seems to be buggy and have issues on MacOS. The first couple versions of mac versions were decent. Overall this app needs UI enhancements and bare minumum bug fixes for app behavior and crashing. I requested a mac version from the main Developer back in 2017, and it is disspointing to see how poor the mac version performs in 2020. I wish the devs would put more resources into the mac version these days.

Worst crypto app of 2021
When I first purchased this app in 2017, my review was the “best crypto app for iOS” but this is no longer the case. Many tokens are not listed, to the point where I cannot use this to manage and track my portfolio anymore. I paid money for the app, but now the app is free and I do not receive the premium features. And it was nice a macOS version of the app came out, but it’s horribly buggy and constantly crashes. Every app update is the same fix “stop macOS crashing” but it still hangs and crashes every time. It’s a joke. Don’t waste your time with this app anymore, as there are much better free alternatives available.

No support - Sync not working
I have tried for over a weke to ge tmy portfolio to sync.
Reached out to support and have not heard anything back.
I paid for the premium service as well.
Prices not updaitng in a timely fashion in either the ios app or the mac app. Paid service was supposed to make this better.
Cancelled my subscription. Very displeased.
*UpdateDev still HAS NOT responsed to multiple emails. They did supposedly reaspond to this review saying "update to the latest version" which I did.
STILL HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM! FIX THIS INTSTEAD OF TELLING PEOPLE TO UPDATE TO ANTOHER BROKEN VERSION! SYNC IS NOT WORKING AT ALL ON NUMEROUS DEVICES!

Laggiest crypto app I have
Anytime I open the app it immediately freezes for at least 5 seconds before it will update prices, etc. Tapping on anything in my portfolio or on the list of tokens does not respond immediately requiring you to hit it again and then it will open your selection then open it again. It’s the worst functioning crypto tracker app that I have, and I have several. Changing between volume and price on a page usually won’t respond the first time, and if you are a paid user who wants to switch between 1D, 6HR and 4HR candles, good luck! Half the time that just doesn’t work or shows the wrong time frame. Won’t be paying for it again once the yearly runs out. Plenty of other apps that actually work.

Bad for Firefox
Every time I close the I get an error message that says the App closed unexpectantly and report problem to Apple. If I do report it to Apple the Pinwheel of Death appears and the App freezes up my computer. Often have to restart.
Second the App will not allow to uncheck open at login.
Finally a new bug has appeared recently. When I open the App, seconds later it closes without warning, This happens over and over again so I deleted and reinstalled with little change in and updated version.
I tried to upgrade and nothing changed so I immediately cancelled. Except for faster pricing which I can find anywher the was very little offered..
If your looking for simple Crypto pricing I would look elsewhere.

Latest update ruined EVERYTHING
This is gonna take hours to fix. Suddenly negative bitcoin and ALL percentage gains totally wrong and gone. Was fine before update. I don’t even know how to approach this cause if y’all fix it and it looks for the CORRECT inputs again, if I spent time fixing it it will break again. I pay for this. This is wack. SO AGGRAVATING. I can’t track my gains and it updates in the middle of a rally where it’s extremely important! Also seems we can no longer access candlesticks from clicking a coin our portfolio. This update is terrible. I’ve never left an Apple store review. I’m most definitely unsubscribing from this app and looking elsewhere and I have trades since 2017 to input! Gonna take me hours to remedy this.

Apple Watch complication does not update
I did reach out to developer but after following his instructions the app still did not work. Also the ethereum prices are consistently ~20 points above most other market prices. I've since deleted this app. Developer is very prompt to respond which is great but I still have to keep the rating at 1 star since I paid for the app and can't use it.
Previous review:
I bought this solely for the Apple Watch and it's useless.
What's the point of a static coin price on my watch that doesn't refresh with updates automatically?
I realized too late that the other reviews criticizing this is all too true; the Watch complication only updates manually, by launching the app itself on the Watch.
I wish I could get a refund for this app.

New update fail
Im a long time user and loved this app until this most recent update which has messed up everything. The previously “deduct from xyz” function used to tally the amount of each coin properly but now it deducts it from my current balance erroneously and now causes chaos and confusion in portfolio data... needs to be fixed. Trying to manually fix these as we speak and its a nightmare.
Update [protected] : help team has been helpful and ive updated to newest version but % gain/loss still wrong and “price of XYZ” bought in case an asset was bought with other than fiat (diff crypto) this really messes things up... thankfully the app on my ipad has NOT updated and is accurate to keep my sanity... developers, please dont update the ipad version lol!

Bad business model
This company has been road mapping api connections for a year, which was why I originally paid for the app. Now that they have rolled it out, they put it behind a bigger subscription pay wall. What a waste of money. All of the extra stuff they added as “premium” probably won’t be used by 90% of their user base.
Update. Received a response about my review. Which is a duplicated response that he has given to everyone else. Same thing about server performance for sparklines and candlesticks blah blah. 3$ a month for just 10 users would buy a cloud server beefy enough to serve hundreds of thousands of accounts. Don’t believe his dev response. Save your money and don’t sub to this b/s. 40$ a year is not worth it. Want a better buy, try StockTwits or vector vest. Plus the fact that there is nothing special for previous paid users, who coincidently probably funded his ability to go to the sub version. Garbage.
And actually, cloud infrastructure is the business I am in.
