This concrete contractor used to be called Art of Concrete LLC, and wasn't a registered contractor with the state under that name. David Ainscough has evaded creditors and judgments against his former company, and has lied about his business problems in his new incarnation as D & E Custom Concrete. Poor quality, worse customer service, an F with the Better Business Bureau: this guy will make promises and never come back to fix what he does wrong. Don't use this contractor!
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
The above comment sounds as if it is coming from a disgruntled ex-employee or partner. If you further research, Art of Concrete was ran by several different folks as a partnership. Mr Ainscough was listed as "sales" - I find it hard to believe that the salesperson has the means or responsiblility to be paying the bills... I really wish that people would get their facts correct to posting something such as this nature. I would be curious to see if the other individuals involved with Art of Concrete are out on their own - such as Artistic Concrete Designs, Washington PA... perhaps?

“Stay far, far away from this contractor. He used to operate as Art of Concrete and had to fold because he couldnt get out of a bad situation. Poor workmanship, sketchy business ethics, but talks a good game. ”ietrto

Poor work at an average price

I accepted a bid from Art of Concrete, provided by Dave, for a simple patio with a stamped finish. They claimed 2 1/2 days and very little damage to the lawn. The reasoning behind the new patio was to run the water away from the house and look good doing it. What I received was poor work, a destroyed lawn and a contractor that would NEVER call me back. The job was started 1 month late, due to 4 days of rain, and took 2 1/2 weeks to complete. The worst part is the water is now coming towards the house. Now I can over look the boot print in the middle of the patio, the absolute distruction of the yard and even the cracks that are already in the stamping; but the only task they had to do was make the water go away from the house yet they could not do that right either! My suggestion is to hire a group of tech school drop outs, the work won't be right then either, but atleast you'll save some money.

DO NOT USE! Gave my deposit, then called me 6 months after the proposed starting date to say they were "in the neighborhood" and could do the work. I cancelled the work after reading other bad reviews of company. Then took nearly one year to get deposit back after contacting Better Business Bureau. These guys are crooks!

stay away! Inept, low quality, poor communication. They broke up the old driveway then took a month to pour it. Broke and crushed the drains, insisted they didn't exist, then had to go digging for them when we called the original home builder. Damaged a concrete step, so that it also needed replacing, at my expense, then poured the new step out of square, level, and plumb. This cause the stamped(?) border to be off parallel, right in front of the house. Never came back to reconnect the drain, replace the step and out-of-square border after agreeing to do so. Never installed the etched and dyed center design. Left a mess at the job site. Driveway doesn't drain properly. "Decorative" stamped stone border is an amateur joke: little texture, blobs of color. This company is a chameleon, avoiding paying suppliers, changing company names, and failing to register with PA Home Improvement Contractor list. If you see them at the Home and Garden Show, walk right past.

I had Dave from D&E Custom Concrete recently do a stamped and dyed patio and sidewalk . He did a great Job! I love the blend of color it looks like real slate stone which is also the stamp pattern we decided on. We had no damage done . We only needed to fill in a little space on the sides of the walk ways with some new grass seed . Something that we already knew would need to be done. Dave always answered my calls or returned them in a short amount of time. Even when I called him over the weekend. I will tell all my friends and family to use him. So give a call and see for your see the great job he can do for you. Good luck with your project.
Hope I helped!
